1601  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Running a Bitcoin Tor exit node on: June 01, 2015, 05:14:13 AM
I don't mean to take away from idea of a bitcoin through tor it's a interesting idea.  I'm all for spreading the network.

And I appolgize if it did not come out right.   I mean for example if you have a static IP and it's a exit node and some one spams, or does boting with google.   It would be a pain to have to type capatcha all the time on google if your node was used for bad.  Being flagged from sites as a bad IP.

But I guess you are right if no one put's other traffic through that port it would not matter. And of course ISP i agree no matter what IP they have a record.

In my experience, I have to type in a captcha to use google whenever I'm browsing with TOR.   You don't have to be doing bad stuff to be forced by google to solve a captcha.  Sorry in advance if I misunderstood you somewhere.
1602  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice.com | Most Popular & Trusted Bitcoin Game | Huge Community | Free BTC on: June 01, 2015, 05:11:11 AM

This might be the case as when you login with your alt account, the cookie of the previous account must have been stored on your machine and as you login with new account, the my bets tab might request for the cookie previously stored in your machine and then it displays the bet related to that cookie info.

Actually, primedice stores your login token in "access_token" stored in localStorage, not HTTP cookies.  I'm honestly not sure why, I've asked here before but never got a reply.  Anyway, they may indeed store recent bets in an HTTP cookie, but the browser login token is stored in localStorage in javascript.
1603  Economy / Gambling / Re: BitcoinPoker.gg - High Stakes. High Rewards - Secure Bitcoin Poker on: June 01, 2015, 05:02:45 AM
What are the highest stakes being played regularly/observed ever?

There aren't high stakes at the moment, the highest tournament I have played is 1chip rebuy and the highest cash game is 0.10-0.20 chip. Tiny freerolls hopefully next time I decide to take a trip there we can get some players.

There are high stakes games but nobody is playing them, I want around 5-10 of us to play the 50chip buy in if anyone else is interested lets arrange it and make it start. Be a nice game that would, you would start attracting more players to it if you made it a 500chip GTD but it needs 5 or 7 players to start.

sounds great but I doubt that other players will be interested to join, since it is hard to find other players in ring games even in the lowest stake and buy in.
And I have already suggested higher GTD tourney  few weeks ago, but I doubt OP will make it sooner. As long as I know, OP is still focusing on how to attract players to play on ring games.

Players here are not ring game grinders in bitcoinpoker from what I have found that is well established fiat sites imo. Has OP looked at the biggest bitcoinpoker sites ring games? Not sure he has or he would sack that idea and concentrate on decent GTD games and once you have bigger players threw the door then they will play nice ring games in between MTT's 'if it suits them. Anyway I am still keeping an eye on it, hopefully admin finds some more time for it and promotions or nothing will happen here unfortunately.

I know the GTD's are better to focus on. We are still seeing how the 25 GTD's are doing before moving forward with bigger GTD's. I do agree, I personally think the GTD's are better to focus on than ring games.

From a business perspective, you may be entirely correct.  However, since I love ring games, I hope you won't forget about them entirely.  I wonder if any kind of special promotion could help drive up the traffic on your site.  Have you considered an affiliate/referral program for bringing new players?

Yo, swcpoker, sorry to keep asking this, but you guys have never replied: when can we log into the website to stake our old account and krill from sealswithclubs.  There are a huge number of us who can't play yet (because windows) and are waiting for the new clients.  But we should be able to log in and stake our old account without having to wait for a client.  Can you reply on this topic please?
1605  Other / Meta / Re: Trust list reorganizing on: June 01, 2015, 04:56:34 AM
Take example of tspacepilot, you necro post with your alt account about his 3 year old post. And then mark negative trust from QS account. It is really misuse of DT. Because That time even so many knew about that. And after that there were no complaint about in tspacepilot account but you did it for some revenge. I don't know what was the motive that you searched 3 year old post to marking red.
That guy is a scammer. Why don't you explain how he is not a scammer, and explain what exactly I was trying to get revenge for?

Gonna have to step in here to answer the slander.

Calling me a scammer now doesn't make it any more true than when you tried it about a month ago.  If you had been able to explain how I was a scammer, then perhaps you wouldn't have this issue of continually getting removed from people's trust lists when they see how volitile you are.  As to what you were taking revenge for, it was pretty clear: you didn't appreciate it when I called you out for being a hothead and for calling people idiots.  I said straight up to you: dude that is a shitty way to be and you are acting like an asshole.  Then, just as deadly said, you went about trolling me with an alt and necro bumping old lies and pretending that they have some validity.  But you overestimated your own importance and people quickly saw through what you were trying to do and you got yourself removed.  All of that is on the record and people can look it up, you can see the threads where he calls people idiots and I say that he shouldn't be doing that.  You can see the threads where he trolls me for 24 hours, threatening to have me kicked off my ad-campaign.  It's all out there for people who (for god knows what reason) may care to look it up.  You can shout that I'm a scammer just like you can shout that nhndc is an extortionist, that doesn't make it true.

Tomatocage has given you another chance.  Looks like you nearly completely blew that one with the ndnhc thing.  However, maybe you'll turn your act around soon mor maybe you'll run out of chances.  Time will tell.

Step #2 - Convert to Brainfuck for fun because you know why not.

Are you talking about brainfuck the language http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brainfuck?  Is there some kind of relevance for bumping this 2 week old thread?  Do you actually want code for generating keys in brainfuck or where you just bumping your post count?
1607  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Running a Bitcoin Tor exit node on: May 31, 2015, 02:19:07 AM

One thing has stopped me and it's the kinda traffic you get through tor.  If you are a exit node sadly a lot abuse it for things you don't want associated with.

If you have a static IP address I would not do it as it might get you flagged all over.    If dynamic IP then you can change it so not as big as deal.

So it could make your web browsing a pain.  And that does not even talk about possible legal issues if they do something "bad" through your exit node.

I have only a dynamic IP, but you make a good point to think twice.  I believe in freedom but there are definitely some things that go down on the internet that I wouldn't want to be associated with.  I'll think about this before acting.   Cheers!

I'm not too clear on the use case for that, because if I want to send a transaction anonymously, can't I just use a tor http connection to broadcast the transaction on, say, blockchain.info's public api?

Probably you could, but life is all about choices ;-)

bc.i is a centralised service, bound to disappear at some point in the (maybe distant) future. We shouldn't rely on centralised services, as convenient as they may be. Better to sendrawtransaction to your nearest onion node.

Thanks, I think I understand the use-case and the motivation now.  I may actually look into that oniontip link, I use tor regularly for http but I haven't considered looking into running a tor node myself.  Cheers, guys!
1609  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 'Casting out nines' instead of leading zeros on Proof of Work on: May 30, 2015, 06:04:59 PM
You could still impose that the hashes and their powered values are lower than some target values, so it could be made to have blocks every 10 minutes also.

I'm just saying that would be slightly more interesting to be able to know about the distribution of these particular numbers.
I still don't get why.  Can you say why these particular numbers are any more interesting than sha256 hashes of transactions?  I don't really get it yet.

Nothing really impressive, for sure, but I think worth thinking and perhaps the spark for something better and more sound (and more like primecoin).

Yes, I think this would require to wait for a hard fork (with some other more important changes, possibly) because you could not use old clients anymore if this PoW was used. Certainly, ground for an altcoin, indeed. But who knows...

If you're a coinmaker, maybe it's time to make your 9coin and see who else is as interested in these numbers as you are! Smiley
1610  Other / Meta / Re: Who is the little bitch who added that POS Quickseller to default trust again? on: May 30, 2015, 06:00:03 PM

The point I'm trying to make is that Quickseller isn't mature or someone who can handle himself in a neutral position with default trust. He has side interests that interfere with his ability and also motivation to leave trust.

Logical and plenty of evidence to support that assessment.

Wonder why it is not a concern for Tomatocage?

Most likely, tomatocage has only seen the tip of the iceberg.  For people who haven't been on the receiving end of a smear-attack by quickseller, it might look at first like he's merely pointing out scammers and potential scammers and the people complaining about him are merely sore about his finding them.  However, once you have to start vouching for his actions, it's another story altogether.  Presumably, something like this is why he didn't last long on badbear's list.  Tomatocage is only just now having to deal with all the QS drama and lies and trickery and cetera.

Here's another possibility though, QS is obviously power-hungry and it's pretty sure that he didn't like getting removed from default trust.  TC giving him another chance but warning him to hold himself together, etc may actually affect his behavior.  Ie, if he stops doing so much abuse, perhaps he'll stay on TC's list and that will be that.  That wouldn't be an altogether bad outcome.  While it's certainly dissapointing that someone can claw their way to the top through lies and scandals and smear campaigns, if, once they get their, they straighten out their act, I guess that's better than not straightening out.
1611  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: ndnhc is an extortionist on: May 30, 2015, 05:49:08 PM
I think there is a good chance that ndnhc was framed. There are several candidates:

1. Quickseller: He has been after ndnhc due to dadice. Considering his ability it will be easy for him to set up.

2. Twipple: Has the motive to make Quickseller look bad.

3. Any other like Twipple with a similar grudge against Quickseller.

4. Someone who hates ndnhc and wants him gone. As a campaign manager who denies and kicks participants he may have some enemies.

What concerns me is that Quickseller is easy to fool and yet the first responses are mostly bashing ndnhc with no one analyzing the accusation. In the last page he makes another accusation which turns out to be incorrect.

Seeing the feedback on ndnhc, Vod has literally copy pasted his. I wonder if he even took the time to read through the allegation.

5. Someone who wants to take over his campaign.  Tongue /joking of course...

I hope ndnhc comes in soon since at this point it seems he is the only person who can move this thread forward.

Why the joking?

Because i answered to carra23, who manages the campaign for the moment. Suggesting that he could have an interest in taking it over completely. Since i dont think he is that kind of person, i wrote it as a joke.  Tongue

You mention marcotheminer... i know he attacked the dadice campaign often. Though it never were bloody attacks. More friendly fights between both campaign runners.

Anyway... the change 1 to I is suspicious. And i hope ndnhc comes up with an explaination soon.

'He' was also unlucky , 12Ey8KPWPcv22VVUdZWCTQFZH97YyIXAuE doesn't exist ... so when ndnhc will come he should give a full explanation of why that TX (https://blockchain.info/tx/7ae108de4b2287bd3ba2c8a9a436c524456f9a7e4373a61eff58f18f783522db) was signed by both address.

It can't exist.  You can't have "I" or "l" in a valid bitcoin address---see bitcoin_base58_check encoding on the bitcoin wiki for more info.  Those characters are disallowed specifically because they look too much like 1 in some font faces.
1612  Economy / Gambling / Re: BitcoinPoker.gg - High Stakes. High Rewards - Secure Bitcoin Poker on: May 29, 2015, 09:21:31 PM
please explain, where do you find those stats?

It's on the http page that you see before you go to the "play now" link.  I think the page is called your "dashboard".  As I said, I see it upon login, but you can also find it from the "play now" page if you look in the upper right for "dashboard" (iirc).
1613  Economy / Lending / Re: i need a small loan on: May 29, 2015, 09:16:10 PM
People aren't going to lend to you without some sort of collateral.  And even more so for a brand new account with no history or value.  Just sayin'.

You'll need to offer something of equal or greater value if you want actually get this loan.
1614  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Running a Bitcoin Tor exit node on: May 29, 2015, 09:07:31 PM
So I'm running a tor relay node from home for a while and was tempted to be an exit node.
You might be familiar with the raid stories from people running an exit node.
Now I know port 80 and 443 are popular exit ports, but what would be the risk of running a bitcoin exit node?
I already activated my node on 8332-8333 to be an exit but did not have any traffic on it yet afaics.

What risk do I take other than possible bandwidth complains from my ISP?
I mean, I also have free 2.4 an 5 GHz Wifi enabled on my router (limited bandwidth and no access to LAN)

I'm trying to figure out how the two notions are related.  Your topic says "bitcoin tor exit node" which I guess means "a bitcoin node and a tor exit node on the same computer".  Is that right?  Your post (and the first reply to it) seem to be talking about the risks of running a tor exit node.  I guess I just can't figure out how running the bitcoin node on the same computer is related (except that it's going to use a lot of memory and bandwidth on that computer).  Help me out.

It is basically a tor relay node. But the only ports I marked as an exit are 8332 and 8333.
You can be an exit for various protocols (ports) but I only chose to be a bitcoin exit node because the risks of being an exit node for ports 80, 443, 25 and a bunch of others.

I got it now.  Your goal is that if someone wants to use bitcoin over TOR, they can exit at your node.  You aren't running bitcoin on this computer, you're just allowing traffic to exit.  I think I understand now and sorry for the confusion.  Smiley

I'm not too clear on the use case for that, because if I want to send a transaction anonymously, can't I just use a tor http connection to broadcast the transaction on, say, blockchain.info's public api?

1616  Other / MultiBit / Re: What should i do as a bitcoin user when the fork happens? on: May 29, 2015, 08:00:01 PM
If you are talking about proposals regarding block sizes, you might have to update Multibit, but the addresses won't change.

That's gotta be the one he means.  FWIW, OP, you'll probably want to update Multibit several times between now and the date when the hardfork happens on block size.  Anyway, good points cr1776 about the fact that there are little forks all the time.

The version i use is the same version available for download on their website, will multibit let me know when i need to download the new version?

There's a menu in the top which says "check for updates" you can always click that to see if there's a new version available.

Quote
You said the addresses won't change, i will have to import my wallets from the old mulitibit version to the new ones correct?

thanks
Here you're asking us to predict the future.  Most likely, multibit will be kind and the developer won't break any backwards compatibility.  But how can we ensure this until we know?  On this one, you'll have to wait an see.  I would imagine that at the very least you'd have to open the new version and point it to your old wallets.  But who knows, maybe there'll be more to it than that.

If I'm following this thread correctly, we still don't know which wallet software was used?  Is that correct?

Incorrect. We know which wallet it was, it's the same one that has had the same crap PRNG code gmaxwell has been complaining about for years: Blockchain.info Wallet. See post #35 directly above yours.

Got it now (although post #35 contains some links to reddit, which I didn't click, I suppose that's where I woulda found the info).  Anyway, I guess the best that can be done is to downvote the app on google play store?  The only android wallet I've used is Andreas' and it's been great.

Go to it, it is a game where you are a circle and you have to eat smaller circles.

I can do that later on another computer.  For now, I'm in text-only forum-talking mode.  Not gonna go to unknown urls using this compu.  Anyway, how does the circle eating smaller circles relate to the BTC or $ or whatever it uses?
1619  Economy / Gambling / Re: Someone should make agar.io for bitcoins on: May 29, 2015, 06:53:08 PM
Okay, someone fill me in here.  What's agar.io.  I understand that it's a game but what kind of game, what's it about?
1620  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Need analysis on possible hack on: May 29, 2015, 06:33:42 PM
If I'm following this thread correctly, we still don't know which wallet software was used?  Is that correct?

@amaclin above who mentioned law of excluded middle.  While it's true that any proposition is true or it's contradictory is true, it's completely possible that dude has a bad PRNG & was hacked.  There's no logical reason why both can't be true---they're not contradictories.
