1601  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are some common challenges in bitcoin;and how can they be addressed? on: May 22, 2023, 10:53:06 AM
One challenge that has been seen and also been mentioned by some about Bitcoin is about connectivity. There's no solution for those that have been in remote areas and they're not versed with using the technology. At least, this is the very one thing that Bitcoin can be said of challenging. There's solution about satellite connectivity but devices and even the connection itself won't cost just a penny but it's more than that.

And one other challenge about still, the most common about many people that are still not yet educated about Bitcoin. The resolution on this one is to keep them informed about Bitcoin but then there goes the other challenge that will made from there, and that's when you're educating the wrong people that are not eager on learning on it as it seems you're wasting your vocals, time and efforts on them.
1602  Economy / Economics / Re: Argentina raises interest rate to 97% as it struggles to tackle inflation on: May 21, 2023, 11:25:18 PM
It's like a band aid solution for most countries but still see them getting that inevitable high inflation rate. But at least with this action, the slowing down of inflation is effective as much as we've seen so these countries got great economists and that's how they come up with such solution. I'm no economists and with such, there's always the domino effect for doing so. We may see the short term solution of increasing interest rates but it won't be as effective as it is in the long term so they have to come up with other solutions wherein, that should have been planned while the effect of interest rates is still there. With what I am seeing, it is the people that are trying to look for solutions on their own like going and working abroad and have that remittances sent to their left relatives.
1603  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Effects of Binance Changing Wallet Addresses on: May 21, 2023, 07:50:22 PM
They've said that if some of these users didn't mind of this update, they won't lose their funds upon sending there but they need to coordinate to them in able for them to get that fund. So, that's another process for them to do and that's why it's gonna force everyone to obey and be obligated of this update.
I won't be surprised if they started charging fees to 'correct' the mistake of depositing to the old address later on.
Yeah, that's possible to happen and it's like going to give the users an "expedite" process for those that will pay the fee.

I don't know why anyone would continue using the old address after they notify them either, it's kinda stupid to rely on their generosity to recover their funds. Regardless of what platform you use, following their latest updates and rules is kinda required if you want to keep using them without any problems.
Well, there have been people keeping their addresses written and saved somewhere else because it's no hassle and if someone asks them, they'll just have to copy and paste it back to them not requiring them to log in to their Binance accounts. And the worse part, they ignore such updates as if they're just like the typical login notifications that we get through our emails and account dashboards. There really are those type of people that don't really verse themselves into updates, I even see people didn't withdraw funds from those closed platforms be it a casino or an exchange and other services despite receiving the notification closure several months away from the actual date.
1604  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Effects of Binance Changing Wallet Addresses on: May 21, 2023, 12:49:05 PM
Addresses don't expire, they just want to use that term so that users will be quick into thinking that this change should be remembered by everyone and it should be taken seriously. There's no negative impact to it but remember that even Binance, centralized exchanges are by no chance of being safe at most times. They've said that if some of these users didn't mind of this update, they won't lose their funds upon sending there but they need to coordinate to them in able for them to get that fund. So, that's another process for them to do and that's why it's gonna force everyone to obey and be obligated of this update. It's not actually a big thing even if they change addresses for the active users.
1605  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Bitcoin or cryptocurrency offer loan service? on: May 21, 2023, 10:14:15 AM
I think OP is asking does bitcoin provide lending services like banks or not. He is not looking for services from organizations or individuals that use bitcoin for lending, which is completely different. If you want to borrow through these institutions, it is no different from a bank, in that case, I would go to the bank and borrow money from them and buy as many bitcoins as I want. Why borrow from these unreliable centralized institutions?

Centralized exchange which offer loan service is asking a valid and liquid collateral, they ask top altcoins as the collateral.

I think @OP is asking if he can get money (Bitcoin or altcoins) where he don't need to give money (Bitcoin or altcoins) as the collateral, just like banks or centralized institutions where they only ask KYC, vehicle document or house/land certificate.

He didn't specify it so it's up to him and know it on his own if the example that I've given suits the need he wants to have for taking a loan. But I am sure that he's aware that when he takes a loan, there's for sure a collateral that he needs to have and yes, a collateral that should be liquid and not just random collateral that the exchange won't agree. But we know that if someone who wants to take a loan but doesn't have any collateral to give and there's a possibility that he'll just default it. Let's just conclude it to him and to those that are thinking of the same if ever that's the case, that lending in crypto and lending in the bank is not entirely different at all.
1606  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Bitcoin or cryptocurrency offer loan service? on: May 20, 2023, 11:57:06 PM
does Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrencies or exchange offer loan service?
If yes, what is some criteria that may be required?
For exchanges - yes, they do. Just check out Binance for this: https://www.binance.com/en/loan
All details are already there but this has to be specific borrowing to be used on their own platform and for you to trade into their all types of market. Read the FAQ from there.
OKX has also that loan feature: https://www.okx.com/loan

Aside from that, we've got the Lending section of the forum and there have been reputable people that are allowing people to take loans from them. If you're known and you ask to have a no-collateral loan and they agree, they'll grant you. But for the majority, there should be a collateral that you can place on and it should be more than the value of what you're borrowing.

1607  Economy / Economics / Re: When will we stop living for the weekend? Escaping the 9-5 life. on: May 20, 2023, 10:45:23 PM
This is the rat race and that's why we're just like living day to day just to survive and have bare minimum. As long as there's no change, we'd be on this cage forever. Taking a step to change is a good start if you've discovered something that will push you out of 9-5 jobs. You can have some skills that will make you work freely anytime you wish for. We're in the digital and gig economy where it has been possible plus the understanding to Bitcoin and the crypto market.

Do you believe that there's a true way to escape this vicious cycle, or are we doomed to live like this forever? Telling me that my minor savings in Bitcoin are going to settle me for the rest of my life isn't going to cut it, because the majority of us won't ever have enough Bitcoin to retire.
It's possible but it varies depending on our skills and passion. Don't think that we're doomed for that forever unless you've already accepted your path and that's like to live like that way forever.

Are you satisfied with this way of life, or would you prefer to live a different way?
I am satisfied with my life for now but that doesn't stop me for wishing and aiming for now.

What would you like to change and how? Personally, I'm clueless and not satisfied with the idea of spending the rest of my life like this.
Ask yourself what's your passion and purpose in life and maybe from there, you'll see some opportunities that would be your ticket to a life changing opportunity. But majority of us already have seen that with Bitcoin but at least for you, there could be something else.
1608  Economy / Economics / Re: Not all banks are going bust. on: May 20, 2023, 05:50:42 PM
How I wish that my bank will also gives me that incentive.

This is the first time I am learning about a bank like Nationwide that operates as if its customers are shareholders. It is also interesting to know that they abide fully by the banking laws.
It's rare to see that a bank is like this. Most of the banks wouldn't care about their customers unless you're a big time depositor, loaner and good payer to them.

If all banks operate this way, there will be fewer bank failures.
It's not guaranteed that even other banks follow the same thing and procedure but, this is a desirable strategy for many banks that we use.
1609  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Need guides from the community? on: May 20, 2023, 01:03:21 PM
Furthermore, I have part-time jobbed and can lose this any time just because of this now looking for full time is this OK or no?
I'll advise you to keep that part time job, since you're still testing how the market will be you've got no assurance through it. You can learn while working with it and that's why whether you've got full time or part time job and you want to sacrifice it, don't do that yet. Or much better that even if you become good in trading as if that's the plan that you're trying to set, still keep on working with those until you're decided that you're leaving for it.

I am 31 years old with no technical education and have experience of accounting as this is my job so can be successful in this or no.
Please give your ideas and views, hopefully someone will work for me and I will be able to have better things in life.
You can be successful in accounting and while you're earning there, try to learn about dollar cost averaging for bitcoin. That's the best thing that you can while working for those two jobs of yours.
1610  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: always updated bitcoin fees image from mempool.space on: May 20, 2023, 10:07:28 AM
Thanks for this tool bitmover. I'll test it now on this post after looking at the mempool.space as the fee sucks again.

After the test: it's a great tool and tells exactly the same thing. If there could be another tool to lessen the fees LOL, as if there's one tool that shall do that but it's for sure that there's none.

1611  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HyperBitcoinization Coming, Says Adam Back, Do you Agree? on: May 20, 2023, 08:06:17 AM
I have always been bullish and such analysis like this is certainly giving the positive vibes for everyone that thinks that there's nothing happening in the market lately. And that is because of the price of Bitcoin don't move a lot and instead of moving forward, we get some corrections.
It's real that there are more people that don't want to sell their Bitcoins and want to hold it instead. That is because everyone have learned already on how the market cycle goes, with this, everyone is anticipating a better value for bitcoin in the coming years and even for the upcoming bull run. It's known that many do like to hold even at least 1 BTC but it doesn't stop there and having the word of hyperbitcoinization, he or they can address it depending on what they see in the market. But I like it when he said that it's gonna be a luxury to obtain 1 BTC soon while many are saying that buying it now is expensive.
1612  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: I GOT SCAMMED. Has anyone been able to withdraw money from Betflip.io? on: May 19, 2023, 11:47:46 PM
So I got scammed by Betflip. My fault for not doing my due diligence and all that... All it took was one google search to see that they are VERY SHADY.
Sorry of what happened to you but that's the pay that you'll have to do if you do the same mistake of just googling casinos to gamble with. It won't take a lot of time for researching before entrusting them with your money. And with all of those links given by other members on how skethcy they were, that's more than enough that you don't have any chance of getting back your money. IIRC, I've seen them make a bounty before in the forum years ago but didn't know that they're turned to the other side of scamming people.

They're registered on Namecheap. I'm going to gather evidence against them, from everyone that was scammed by them and go to Namecheap to get them offline.

-Hurts bad
Good luck in doing that and you might also want to update the thread with this format:

1613  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is it about morality or productivity in choosing to work from Home on: May 19, 2023, 10:17:04 PM
It's not about morality or so. He has to understand that there are jobs and tasks that can really be done at home with certain tools provided by the company. He's aware of the WFH setup and that has been there even before the pandemic triggered. I don't know why he has to make this such a wide discussion and have to make bold statements about vague comparisons. He may be entitled to his own opinion but he's off and entirely wrong with that comparison. If people choose the skillsets that they have which will allow them to work at home, why stop them?
While those people chose the skills that will only be done inside the company's premises through working on site. There's no violation, there's no discrimination with the choice of anyone whether to work at home or to work on site.
1614  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to Save Bitcoins for Future on: May 19, 2023, 08:51:42 PM
Make sure that gadget is free from any malware or virus so that you're sure that it won't be controlled and gone. And that's gonna take for a long time for you to connect it again to the web and that's when probably you're about to sell then. If this is too much for you to handle and you've got no laptop or the same device or gadget then the best thing to do is to buy a new hardware wallet, and because of some things happening with Ledger, choose Trezor.

1615  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Whats required of me as a newbie in other to grow in this prestigious forum? on: May 19, 2023, 05:13:29 PM
Keep on researching and more reading, most of them should be interesting topics and the current trend in the crypto market. Since you've said contribute, you've got little or big knowledge and if you've seen that knowledge hasn't been shared by someone then do the intiative to share it to the community and that's a contribution. If you're more into Politics and Society discussion then focus in there if that's what you think you'll excel and not just that, make sure that you're enjoying discussing those topics there. It's important for you to enjoy and show that you're natural and truly have passion over all those topics.
1616  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin retirement benefits on: May 19, 2023, 03:59:18 PM
How many have already decided to make Bitcoin as their retirement plan? Answer: too many. All of those factors you've said are good and someone can easily sell Bitcoin at anytime an individual wishes to do it. There's no intervention from any third party and the retiree can get his money anytime that he can no matter what is the situation of the market. While many can't take a whole bitcoin as a savings, don't think about that but make sure you're able to save as much as you can and that's the plan for your retirement money. We may not be as wealthy as the others but we're wiser than them who doesn't think this way. A smart person will still have his benefit at the end as we grow older and we'll enjoy it through our retirement.

1617  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Switching hardware wallets won't solve a thing; different chips in cold wallets on: May 18, 2023, 11:42:22 PM
It's actually a hot topic now after Ledger's new feature has came out. I'm not technically good with those aspects and terms and as well as jargons so threads like this is totally helpful to people like me. You've said it right when this issue popped out, it had me thinking that I should go for another hardware wallet for which my choice is the Trezor one since it's cheaper than the T version. After seeing the comparison of it, the features that has the One version is already good enough for me and will saved me more than a hundred bucks. While the topic relatively to Ledger is still going on, we'll see where this is leading but it's made the entire community of it dismayed and lost their credibility that has been looked up and protected for a very long time.

1619  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are we expecting from now until Bitcoin halving? on: May 18, 2023, 09:02:05 PM
Just wondering how everyone feels the next 11 months will go until the Bitcoin halving?
Let the months come and see it for yourself. Nobody knows how it will go because trends could change but the after-effect of halving is known to the most and that's gonna make Bitcoin's price reach another price ceiling aka all-time high.

I am counting down the months now looking forward to my first bull run next year and curious.
Enjoy the ride and it's for sure will be worth it.

Are we expecting any more major crashes or should the markets start steadily rising in a few months or so
If it's with a major crash, comparing it with the 4-year cycle then that crash should have been done already last year. And in preparation of the halving, the market should go steadily go up in a slow manner.

or will that not happen till the end of 2023?
But then, as there's always the unexpected that comes to the market. Just allow anything to flow and come and see the greatness of it with your very first halving and bull run soon.
1620  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I believe that Bitcoin will make me independent on: May 18, 2023, 07:55:39 PM
Hello Jury, I wish you speedy recovery and you're doing a great job if you've been doing that monthly. Other people can't even dedicate their time on Bitcoin knowing that they've got no problem to deal with. But unlike you, you're doing it correctly. You're DCAing and that's how everyone shouldn't make excuses because if you're doing something such as this and you're able to consistently doing it for several months, then it means that you're totally committed on it. Don't worry, all of our efforts and investment through Bitcoin is worth it. Are you projecting and trying to play calculation on how much gain you should have in the nearest future based on the amount you're investing in?
He's doing his best out there to build a future for himself and, most likely, to take on the obligation of providing financial assistance to his family. It takes a long time to see such amount of energy from a disabled person trying so hard to be consistent in the market, and we sit down and give up so easy because of one or two losses. His story is not a made-up one, because I can feel his anxiety and have mentally drawn out his situation. One thing I can advise him is that he should never give up, and that bitcoin is worth the struggle and ambition he is pursuing.
While he's trying to do his best and becomes consistent with DCA and have a dream. There are people that even have complete resources and job but they say that they've got not enough resources. It is depending on the person's eagerness whether to invest or not despite the situation.
Yes, life is tough and we're all experiencing it but with this toughness it is giving us our ways on how to be flexible and what to pursue. Just like with Jury's, this is the perseverance that everybody need. You will really feel someone's emotion with these stories that you'll read, whether they're for real or not, this do happens a lot in reality.
