This should be a clear message to gox that they need to upgrade something, be it hardware or software or bandwidth...somethings gotta change. You can't run the biggest bitcoin exchange on a piece of garbage that it is running on now. No one can even trade...lol...whats the point.

Let's all put blind folds on and click repeatedly and randomly the buy and sell buttons and trade that way....no different than this now lol
16182  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: July 21, 2012, 03:51:58 AM
it seems like we're stuck in a loop. it keeps going up to 9.4 then big sell off to 8.7  then again and again. How can you trade?? mtgox not working. is it hacked?

I'm not sure, but I had some pending orders that I couldn't cancel so I just made all my USD and BTC into gox codes lol

haha, that's slick. Yea when shit gets too crazy like this I push my buy/sell spread way out and turn the bots off. It saves me and probably helps the orderbook get caught up easier with a weee bit less activity.

When's the last time things got this slow to catch up? seriously...manual mode?....

ayee, just how slow we talking? I was obviosuly generalizing as I'd have no way of knowing what exactly is happening right now. Last time I was moving my orders was this afternoon. No need to mess with them now as even if the huge buy you guys said is accurate I am still set where I want to be..

Yeah I'm locked in with my order...i'm not convinced yet that we're going higher than previous high of $9.50 for very long if at all...

I like how all the price charts die when there is massive volatility in the market....

16186  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: July 21, 2012, 03:28:28 AM
$9.31 just now. Someone just dumped 27321.5791 BTC worth of their USD and pulled the price up.

obviously this didnt happen on mt gox
16187  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin soaring, highest I've seen it since last year while it was decreasing on: July 21, 2012, 03:18:23 AM
Do you think taking out the gambling aspect (e.g. Bitcoinica) has to do with the soaring prices?

yes and no

Bitcoinca actually hurt the price

If bitcoin would of never been hacked and just got better and better, allowing people to securely DOUBLE their money  ( up to 10 million dollars .. which Z could of done if hehe wasn't hack 3 4 5  Huh times) Bitcoin would be a slightly bigger market then it is today  Wink

Or more inflated market...

16192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin price? on: July 20, 2012, 05:42:14 PM
Litecoin was up around 1LTC/0.001BTC a week or so ago, now it's 1LTC/0.000758BTC and still falling.  Why?  I'm beginning to wonder if it would be more profitable to use my CPU for BTC/NMC merged mining.

If you bought a fuckton when those prices existed you would have multiplied your investment by 6-8 times.

Sometimes we need to change our thinking about whether it is unprofitable now to mean it could very well be very lucrative in 6 months to a few years from now?

Just saying.....

16194  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crash!!!! on: July 20, 2012, 05:31:25 AM
The uptrend is strong because it's coming off months of sideways movement at $5. For the same reason, corrections in this uptrend will not be nearly as severe as the correction in Jan/Feb from $7.2 (right now, $7.5 is about right in the middle of the bollinger band).

Remember, the uptrend started at $2 in November, and all the sideways movement at $5 was a momentum build-up. Why would price retreat from $9, just to go back to $5? Unless this isn't a true uptrend but just an upward volatility burst.

But I don't think so, all the indicators confirm the upward trend. We'll bounce off $7.x (old resistance becomes new support) and grind against $9.x until most likely breaking $10, continuing the retracement of the correction from $30.

$9 profit-takers will probably be lucky to add to their positions buying under $8. Panic-sellers in the $7's will probably suffer some losses.
