1621  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: June 26, 2013, 08:22:16 PM
All of you who keep saying its a scam, stop being annoying. Honestly. They have been keeping us up to date as much as possible and probably provide more communication then any other companies I have seen. I have talked to TH numerous amounts of times about everything. For god sakes they have an office. Give them a break honestly. Stop being impatient little kids. If your not satisfied ask for a refund but don't spread "scammers" around because they are not.

I have sent TH 3 messages, through their email and through their ticket system that "the natives are restless" and people are stopping wire transfers and paypal payments.  No response.

I called their phone, voicemail isn't even set up on it.

I am not saying scam yet, I am saying "red flags" and "crap customer service"

Joeventura, we are not interested in doing any business with you. You will never get any reply to any of those messages, so you can stop sending any more.

I live in Sunnyvale ---very close to your office...Can I make a visit?  We'll talk terrahash mining and your experiences with it,  I'll buy you a coffee or a sandwich.  After the convo I can post replies onto this board of the impression I had visiting your office and hopefully garner you more reinforced "credibility"  I am interested in looking at prototypes if you don't mind - just to acknowledge with everyone else that you have real Proof of concept units and not rendered drawings.  Sorry I'm not trying to come off as overbearing or skeptical, I just want you to know where I stand.T  hink "lab_rat" visit to BFL labs Smiley
1622  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Got a 5870 from someone off craigslist on: June 26, 2013, 08:08:41 PM
Whenever i power up I hear a painful high pitched squeal.  I've read on these forums that drivers are necessary to control the gpu fan, but I've installed the drivers and still hear that sound.  The device also doesn't show up in the device manager.

Any advice?

A fool is quick to part ways with his money...j/k  Cry  you're stuck with a bad card it sounds like.  This happend to me with a cell phone once.  Maybe run the mfg drivers diagnosis tool

100 LTC

Sorry I was not clear - I am not looking to make any money - I will take the face value of the items.

If someone wants to jump up the order queue then it may be worth it to them.

Otherwise I will ask for a refund - I would prefer LTC though

  100 LTC ?! Shocked

what a deal for that much ltc    Shocked Shocked Shocked

1626  Other / Archival / Re: Pictures of your mining rigs! on: June 24, 2013, 09:09:51 AM
My rig. 7.8 Gh/s sec. About 20 bucks per day as of now. Running off a raspberry Pi.

wow that is just lovely...drooling my gum out now.  does it mine at that rate pretty steadily?  how much was your raspi setup and how much setup time did you put into it?  Was there a difficult curve in getting it going?

1629  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Which hardware have i to buy to start mining? on: June 23, 2013, 10:53:33 PM
Why it can't be use with other coins?

No onboard ram or scrypt support.  It can probably be modified to run anything using SHA256.

What is SHA256?
shaking my head...why are you even here?  go do something else like find a job a mcdonalds or flipping burgers.  BFL makes FPGA too- that's what you're looking at...another ROI gamble, not an ASIC.  BFL units in hand that are asic will set you back a couple grand.  Like others here are saying, its smart to buy up some alt currency instead and ride the wave, IE sell @>10% appreciation in value and buy it when the value is lower than 10% of expected value,  I'd say buy at 90 and sell again at 110 if you can stomach the patience.

wow ajw.
what a dick.
No need to insult his intelligence and the intelligence of those who do those jobs.... hes new, he obviously doesn't know anything about bitcoin but is willing to learn.

Simpic, please do read up, especially before you consider investing in ANY mining equipment.

thank you.  Anyhow, McDonalds makes sense, 6 an hour for 80 hours per pay period -20% for taxes is equal to $384 every two weeks.  I was hoping to gain from his questions, but all I'm doing is answering them mentally. Of course I'm gonna give my 2 cents no matter how offputting it may be.

For what its worth, I didn't insult his intelligence, but I did assault his lack of willingness to find his own answers like most of us already did beforehand using google, this board and others.

1631  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How much would you price my used i5 MacBook Pro 13"? on: June 22, 2013, 03:54:56 PM
I want to sell my MacBook Pro 2.5GHz i5 13" 4GB RAM but, what is it worth no a days?

The laptop has NO scratches anywhere, it has the charger and the original box (Paperwork, etc).

Although, the charger cable has a little knick because one of my cats bit it but it still works.

Thanks for your help!

3-5 coins FTW

25% wow, where would that be.    Ive never heard of virtual savings, we are far down the rabbit hole now.    If this is correct and other financial innovations, there is hope yet

https://www.coinlenders.com/interest

Dawg, I tried to warn you before about the ASICs, but you had already ordered them, so I didn't really want to get into it too much, but seriously, BE-WARE of this coinlenders nonsense. Anyone offering 25% APR is suspect.

Anyone whose website was registered March-22-2013, set to expire March-22-2014 is more suspect.
Any "business" that is run by "whoisguard" is suspect (imho).

Put all those together and you get... super suspicious.

Maybe you've done your due dilligence, I dunno, but I would really hate for this to all end as the tragic story of a guy who got scammed from A-to-Z by the bitcoin world.
I run coinlenders.

The domain is only for 1 year because it was one of the many names I was considering (I snapped up half a dozen domains, all 1 year).

25% APR is not suspect - it is possible to get this return. We lend at multiples of the rates we're offering.

World, FWIW I'm going to give them a try.  The site looks nice and its not like I'm necessarily gaining any appreciated value from a "Record High" BTC price so I say why not.  I will by no means try out anything other than 1btc as that is just too much risk imho.  Word to the wise, 25% APR wittles down to 2.08% earned interest per month - I'm looking at maybe a Dollar and change from lending the equivalent to 100 and some change...but I suppose that is what to expect from ANY cd nowadays fiat or otherwise
1634  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: A case study in entry-level mining on: June 21, 2013, 09:25:45 PM
Fun thread.  After my Jaly's arrive (very soon) and I've mined sufficient capital, I plan to invest in Erupters as well.  Thanks for the step by step!

ur an idiot lol (that just sounds dumb to pay the same for a 5Gh/s unit as a 300 Mh/s unit)
1635  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Those who have died while waiting for BFL to ship on: June 21, 2013, 08:51:25 PM
I'm sure a few miners have passed on while waiting for BFL to ship their order.
I'm curious what would happen to their equipment should this happen?

I'd be willing to foster the poor orphans.
Come here little one.  Don't cry.

Just like any law in your city state country locale...If you buy a diamond ring from QVC and you die - it still ships.  The lucky householder gets to be the recipient of the BFL hardware.  If you can figure out how to possibly determine the users who died, you could conceivably request to re-acquire the hardware at cost?
1636  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: BFL is shipping on: June 21, 2013, 08:46:06 PM
How many products so far shipped more or less?

I have ordered a Jalapeno last month (half of May)... you will say money throwed in the bin, and maybe you would be right...

regards,
ilpirata79
More than 3 and less than a million I would guess.

ppl participate on here: http://bfl.ptz.ro/

I'd guess that 500 or less have been shipped from the latest Jody ambiguity talk.  If they are planning to stay en route of the 90 days catchup plan I would gather they must be shipping 30-80 units per day minimum.  No scientific data or facts to back up....Just my BS presumption, nothing more. 1637  Economy / Speculation / Re: pre order bfl vs preorder 4 ps4 on: June 20, 2013, 03:46:57 AM
eBay could eventually ban any sale of bitcoin and related items. Unlikely but maybe worth bearing in mind.

But I'm saying use it to sell the ps4s 4-5 of them new instead of the other choices, or even another major auction site
1638  Economy / Speculation / pre order bfl vs preorder 4 ps4 on: June 19, 2013, 07:06:55 AM
I just thought it made more sense to get a big payout if a guy buys game consoles to immediately resell.  Now, the first two options should happen right now at 2.30 usd per ltc and 104 usd per btc to equal the cost and hopes that the price reaches at least double what you bought them for - I'm thinking you would buy usd $2500 worth of them.  For the 3rd answer,The mining machines could be resold on ebay too, but for this thought experiment we shall presume that the devices reach easy availability which means they will follow the normal rules of electronics depreciation and that you can't sell it for a larger sum than what you initially bought it for after extended use (used 24/7 till June) A bold speculation is that the consoles will be under produced as history has shown causing a temporary demand spike.  Which do you think would make the greatest roi by June 2013.  Interested in answers.  I already know some goofball will be like D: all of the above  Grin. Well I say +1 and good day to you sir! Cheesy
1639  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS Lancelot on: June 18, 2013, 10:49:36 PM
Hi,

i have 7 Lancelot miner doing 400 mh/s each i want to sell them for 12 Btc pm me if you interested.

escrow accepted .
thanks

Good deal but it's still uber expensive... (these go for $350 each new and can be found often for around $300 used, so yea its a good deal!)  to anyone else who reads this - that breaks down to $178 @ 104USD but this deal equates to maybe 2.8 GH - you should buy shares in Cloudhashing.com and only spend 300 ish for the same amount of processing power.  Sure it isn't yours for keeps, but this FPGA equipment won't yield much after 12 months anyway. Just trying to educate bandwagoners.
