1621  Other / Meta / Re: Merit giveaway for Jr Members and newbies on: February 17, 2018, 06:33:16 AM
Anyway perhaps this post can at least earn something: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2895054.msg30312040#msg30312040

Gave you one.

Dear Krishnaverma,

Thanks for this very kind gesture - I was due to be member yesterday, but unfortunately I wasn't aware of the new merit system until that point! I have tried using my (quite limited) knowledge to write tutorials that will help the community - I even used pictures... but so far nobody is really reading them. I wonder if some might be interesting to you?

You are writing awesome posts and got merits from other members. I gave one to you as well.

Rest of the applicants need to improve. I will give 2-3 more in this giveaway and close this.
1622  Other / Meta / Re: How Do You Feel About This New System?? on: February 09, 2018, 10:45:56 AM
I am not a spammer or do not create posts just for the sake of it. I just wanted to be able to link my signature to a post on this forum advertising my service, which I cannot do because of the rank I currently have.

What do you think? Is this merit system fair for my case?

See if you want to get a privilege associated with higher rank (signature in this case), you need to work for it. I checked your posts and some of them are really good. You will easily become a member if you keep making such posts.
1623  Other / Meta / Re: [List] Suspected users that are abusing merit 3.0 on: February 09, 2018, 10:40:56 AM
Is there any place where I can find and objective definition of what constitutes an abuse of the system?

a) Meriting "too much"?
b) Mutually sending merit?
c) Sending merit to accounts that seem to be linked by exchange of tokens?
d) Meriting to ANN threads?
e) Which other cases?

Who is going to decide if the abuse is considered as such? That is, is there a "jury" and an "appeals process"?

Please point me to any link or resource if there is any.

Why are posting this same thing here again. You already created a thread with same content here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2909419.0

Is there any place where I can find and objective definition of what constitutes an abuse of the system?

a) Meriting "too much"?
b) Mutually sending merit among users or groups of users?
c) Sending merit to accounts that seem to be linked by exchange of tokens?
d) Meriting to ANN threads?
e) Which other cases?

Who is going to decide if the abuse is considered as such? That is, is there a "jury" and an "appeals process"?

Please point me to any link or resource if there is any. I do know that merit should be sent to post that are "of quality", but I am asking for something specific.

You  should use common sense for finding the abuse. I made a thread regarding this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2827385.msg28971105#msg28971105. You can use the tips listed there and help the forum by exposing the abusers.
1625  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: February 09, 2018, 10:31:27 AM
Nonsense.   Five years ago there were no signature campaigns, and bitcoin was worth a few dollars.  This forum thrived back then.

There were not that many members. It is true that a lot of members joined because of the monetary benefits involved and they will leave. I think admin is not concerned about those users as they do not add much value here. Judging a forum by number of members is not appropriate in my opinion as well.
1626  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: February 09, 2018, 10:28:51 AM
Radical solution lol, most users would be done using this forum.
But people would be more honest.

It may sound harsh to you but there are good chances of that happening. Here is what admin said about this recently

It's too early to get a clear picture, but my thoughts so far:

First, most people complaining about merit are constantly posting garbage, and should not rank-up. The forum is not a welfare system; you don't run through a few hoops and then get paid for doing something that nobody actually wants. I like that good forum members can make money, especially when said forum members are in poorer countries and this is a major opportunity for them. I very much do not want to destroy the sig-ad/airdrop/bounty "industry". But I am not going to tolerate people posting garbage upon garbage. If the merit system completely fails and I can't think of anything else to replace it, then my next step will probably be to completely remove all ways for forum users to make money from posting (eg. removing signatures entirely).

1627  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever stopped or removed from casino on: February 09, 2018, 10:22:01 AM
Even I also faced this issue when I visited 1st time to abroad. as per the casino rules for foreigners, there is no fee it was free entry but we need to show our passport. I showed my other national ID but they are not allowed me inside. yup They were very strict in the rules.

That was something new to me. I was planning to visit some countries just to enjoy the popular gambling related activities there. Now, I will make proper research about the legal documents required for entering the casino of those countries.
1628  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does your family past incidents effect you? on: February 09, 2018, 10:19:22 AM
There some are family like that who is looking to your future they did not want you to involved gambling in your life because they know that gambling turns you nothing. Maybe they have done in gambling and they see that maybe it is the cause some gamblers turns to addiction.

My mother always tells me that I need to gamble to earn any money. She says that it is better for me to remain poor than to become rich by gambling. I know that we can have difference of opinion but it is nice to have someone concerned about your life.
1629  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the best Poker site ? on: February 09, 2018, 10:17:19 AM
Nitrogen is the best if you like to play cash games, there isn't better place for that. Just click on my signature and you are there in a second, you can play anonymously if you wish, and for now nitrogen accepts just bitcoin deposits.
Coinpoker have ICO now, I believe their ICO is not over yet. Nice poker, they have a lot of tournaments for ethereum, you can check that.
Betcoin turned off their poker, now they are activating it again. There are some problems with that site so be careful, they have new owners and I think the biggest problem was BBJ that is around 42 BTC and that is not a little. I didn't understand will they open poker until bbj happen. They are shady about it, like I said be carful when you play there.

Their are various other benefits of Nitrogen poker as well. Their is an option called self-exclusion. You can blacklist certain games that you do not want to play and good thing is that you cannot play them forever once you do that. This is good for people who have less self-control.
1630  Economy / Economics / Re: We need to do something about all the scams on: February 09, 2018, 10:13:13 AM
These scams would never come to an end. Reason is only the lack of proper research from a person who is going to invest in some coin. Like if someone is investing in bitcoins, there are different methods of earning. Trading, investing, campaigning, associating with ICOs and much other. Scam always found in voids that are easy to target and it seems only when illiterate people are playing the game with bitcoins.

Completely agree with you. These scams are able to trap gullible people only. If every one started doing research properly before investing, these scammers would disappear. For instance, there are people in India who were selling Bitcoins offline. Many students were buying from them and got scammed. They just need to make an account on Indian exchange and buy there. How hard is that ?
1631  Economy / Economics / Re: It's Not Over Yet on: February 09, 2018, 10:10:34 AM
FUD spreading like wild fire and news agencies and all form of media are buying it for the sake of site visits and traffic. There's also a lot of instant crypto experts who gives unsolicited advise to holders that the end is near. Who cares and who needs their advise. As far as I know, what we are experiencing now is nothing new to the market and if you are not used to it, definitely you are new to crypto. HODL!

I think we can see the end only if the major economies of the world completely ban crypto in their countries. I do not see that happening soon though they may increase the taxes on profits made through bitcoin investments. I will keep buying some every month as I  have allocated fixed monthly amount for this.
1632  Other / Meta / Re: Do you need merit now to rank up? on: February 09, 2018, 10:06:35 AM
I'm now Member rank, would I become Full member at 130 points activity or need 500 merit too?

You need merits to rank up for senior ranks. For instance, to be a Jr Member, you need no merits. In your case, you need total 100 merits (90 more with current stats you got) to reach next level (full member).
1633  Other / Meta / Re: very difficult to get merit on: February 09, 2018, 10:00:36 AM
From my personal experience, it is not that hard to get merits if you are active here. Just be the first to reply to the query of the member asked and you have more chances of getting noticed. Also, do not expect instant results. I get merits for posts that I made a week back.
1634  Other / Meta / Re: Merit system is not working, failed! on: February 09, 2018, 09:57:59 AM
Jr. Member is the highest rank I can reach in bitcointalk forum, thanks to merit system. Bravo!

Why do you want to get higher rank ? If this for participating in signature campaigns, you will have very hard time competing with other deserving candidates with this attitude. If you want to get a privilege associated with higher rank, work for it.
1635  Other / Meta / Re: Can I use every sendable merits in a single day or do I have limitation...? on: February 09, 2018, 09:54:48 AM
The merit system is making a big change in the entire forum activities. Along with that it is hard to give merits finding good quality posts. For this reason I've planned to go through each and every section of the forum and merit to qualified posts. In this regard is there any limitations in spending of merits for a day or any time gap to send merits. Because we have time gap for each ranked member to make posts, before that we cannot make posts.

There is no such limits, you can spend all in single day on different members. It is nice to hear that you are going to search for good posts in different sections to merit them. Only if we have more such helpful members like you who think about the forum voluntarily.
1636  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: February 09, 2018, 09:51:08 AM
The idea was great, but atm its not working.  Lips sealed

Deleting all ranks would be better  Tongue

Would you also be happy if all the signature campaigns are removed from the forum ? That will make all the merits and ranks useless than right.
1637  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can We Consider Bitcoin To be An Anti-Government? on: February 09, 2018, 09:43:53 AM
In my own view, Bitcoin is offering an alternative to what the government is providing. And on this ground, many government people are viewing Bitcoin to be an expression of an anti-government movement. This can be the reason why they do not trust Bitcoin and some are out to stifle its growth.

I think we can have both systems running without any conflicts. It is hard for me to understand why the governments are banning crypto in their countries. This should be actually encouraged especially in developing countries where there are less earning opportunities in form of jobs.
1638  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has crypto spring already became? on: February 09, 2018, 09:41:58 AM
Bitkoin rises again. Will it raise to 20k, how do you think? Need your expert opinions, guys  Roll Eyes

Yes, I am hopeful that it will rise to $20000. In fact, I think it should not have any trouble reaching $50000 mark by the end of the year. This depends on a number of factors like the response we see to lighting network that is expected to boost the speed of bitcoin transactions.
1639  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin transactions with Trusted person!! on: February 09, 2018, 09:39:23 AM
Suppose I want to exchange Bitcoin to other USD, as like neteller/skrill. Then how can I trust someone on online?
It can be fraud and I can lost my bitcoin. is there any trusted source/exchanger?
How can I understood he is Trusted/reliable?

Simple solution to this issue is using an Escrow service. Many members are offering such services here as well but go with a reputed member. Also, check out the trust of the member offering that service and choose one with at least 50+ positive trust. You will have to give him some fee to manage this.
1640  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin really too volatile to be a useful currency? on: February 09, 2018, 09:37:34 AM
Yes it is too volatile. Imagine prices having to change every second on every trade portal like Amazon. Moreover, if it does not solve the problem of the high fees, it is unusable as a currency also for this reason.

As an online marketer who sells some services in Bitcoins, I agree to this. For instance, I have a product that I offer for $25. One of the buyer did not had PayPal so he asked me if I will accept PayPal. Eventually, he did not order because he wanted me to cover the fees involved. There is not that margin in all services and products.
