1621  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Making exponential gains trading on: September 29, 2019, 09:53:11 PM
-Bitmex, Deribit etc. Perpetual Futures leveraged trading (1-100 x leverage - SUPER HIGH RISK)

For this, you should know how much leverage to be used to save yourself from getting liquidated in the worst conditions when slips take place. It is better to leave this option if you don't understand the risks because if you enter a trade with 10x leverage but the need was for max 5x and you lost on 10x but could have won on 5x, that is the main reason why many traders lose there.

Quote
-ICO/IEO trading (4-5 returns, MEDIUM RISK)

I will never prefer ICOs but IEOs.
IEO trading is the trend now and I have seen many coins giving higher returns compared to ICOs, the condition is: you need to enter during the sale to buy them dirt cheap.

Quote
-Spot Trading (BTC/USD, MEDIUM RISK)

Not worth it if you ask me because you get stressed every moment thinking about your loss if you are in it during that time.

Quote
-Deribit Options (MEDIUM RISK)

Never did it, can't comment. Still, they have chances but you need to be highly accurate about the direction of the markets in this type as it is no less than a gamble.

Quote
-Cross Exchange Arbs/DEX Arbing (Buying alts on Dex before exchange launching on Binance - requires insider information)

Buying dead kind of projects which don't have anything special but if you buy them cheaper in regards to making money only, this kind of thinking will make you lose a lot and your wait may never end if the project does not get listed on any exchange. Actually, it must be selling alts on Dex before Binance exchange launch because all these alts have a run up till they get listed on Binance and then their death toll starts to tickle.

-Gambling Games (Dice, etc.)

Sports betting had been my favorite here where odds of winning are higher compared to dice and casinos.
1622  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The secret of gambling? on: September 29, 2019, 09:24:36 PM
OP are you sure you want to know about the secret of gambling or the secret to invest and gain profits through gambling? Betting and investing are 2 different scenario.

There is no secret in gambling TBH, you need to be focused on your bet and put bets only upon games where you see at least 90% chances of win. If you lose, calm down is the best strategy and your honest towards your capital saves you from losing everything on one bet. If you know when to stop, you don't need any special mantra in gambling.
1623  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Simple and undeniable proof that Bitcoin is a scam on: September 29, 2019, 04:44:44 PM
It is well worth nothing if you are trying to show it as a ponzi here because if there sustains higher demand always over the total 'limited' supply of something, then I don't think you can call it out a scam. Gold and Diamond are two other forms of classic assets which are given value based on their quality, purity, cuts and clarity 'for diamonds specially' but these were all made possible due to institutions that came and gave knowledge about these specific agendas of the metal and hard rock, else during ancient ages, who knew about all these properties? They just gave it a simple value based on which groceries, clothes and even shelter was used to be bought through these. Is Bitcoin any different here? There is a difference, Bitcoin is 2 steps ahead, it is advanced and robust to leave behind all these old assets, monetary types and their systems.

Are you testing your website through our experience?
I don't see anything interesting on the site and when tried to play by tapping the button that says "Fetch the Golden Lottery", it took me to an advertising website where it asked me to disable the Ad blocker. I got nothing but too many pop-ups and I hate them all a lot, still tried to get to a link but didn't earn anything over your website. Please add a how-to page explaining what do we need to do to win, and please remove those redirecting links I really hate them.
1625  Economy / Gambling / Re: ➫ ➬ ➫ ➬ LUCKYB.IT Classic ★★★ the oldest Bitcoin on-chain game ★★★ on: September 29, 2019, 10:46:47 AM
What I do not like about the new game is that the balance is updated just after we made the bet, which means it is like a useless thing to see the dropping plinko ball because I know the result based on the balance which is updated too early. I think it is better if the balance is updated after the plinko ball hit the payout/bottom of the plinko board. Knowing the results before the game ends is reducing the fun of the game.
Hopefully luckybit will change it as soon as possible.

What will change there? The fun part alone?
I think they did their best and I like the game a lot 'though not yet a part because I am not yet invited' but even if the balance doesn't update before the ball reaches the payout area, it will not change anything because at the end of the day, the results will remain exactly the same where the ball goes.

@Sundeland, I can't hold my excitement and willing to know about when will your next wave of invites take place? Any dates for this? I can't control my emotions to play there at least once. Smiley

Hi everyone at Sportsbet,
I am a new user here. I came to know about the welcome bonus in which we get x3 our first bet's stake as free bet.
Is it limited to 2 mBTC and I can get a free bet of max 6 mBTC?
Do I need to win my bet to receive that free bet or just wait for it to grade even if I lose that first bet?
After receiving my free bet, what is the max can I win with this free bet? Is there any limit on that?
If I win any amount through that free bet, how much can I withdraw?
Do I need to wager any x amount of my winnings from free bet to withdraw them or I can withdraw the winnings any time?

yes 6 mbtc is the max and if i remember correct your first bet has to be exactly of 2 mbtc for new user bonus. you will get the freebet even if u win the 2mbtc bet. there is a max but u can only see that when u try to place it, i have tried before and it limits somewher between 100-200x odds. you can withdraw freely whatever u win

100-200x odds on what?
The first bet or the free bet?
I like this promo because I was thinking about it that they will allow the winnings to be withdrawn after free bet was placed and won, but didn't take part as I left gambling before. Now I'll be getting back into this. Any bets you could suggest with odds above 1.5 - 2x? I can share 50% of my winnings (except my betting amount) for my first bet. It should be after today, I will not go for live matches for some reasons.

Everyone PMing me asking for merits:
I have nothing to share yet, else I will announce the merit fest here. I don't like you begging for merits like a kid, where were you when I was distributing them? Now try other threads and stop sending PMs to me and if you need merits, send a message in this thread because a PM to me won't help you out but your post here containing a link to your best post(s) will help you get the exposure you need to get yourself a merit. Have some common sense, guys.

Classic luckybit still having the same features, is an ofchain game where you don't have to register, you only have to place bets on the deposit address, same as always...

And Luckybit the new generation is totally new and different, this is an off-chain game where you can deposit have fun and when you decide to withdraw. With this new one, you don't have to way for a block confirmation on each bet. You can make it rain again and again...

so the big difference from the old luckybit just the deposit method? because in the classic we need to wait for the block and now we need to deposit to play
but i think there is a few websites that have this feature

Do you understand the difference between on-chain betting and off-chain betting?

Older one used to be on-chain while the bets were sent straight from your "wallet's address" and if you won, it sent you your winnings to the same address the bets were sent from. This one asks you to sign up there, deposit and then play with lesser values of BTC compared to what you were doing in older game because you were needed to send at least BTC0.01 which cannot be affordable by most of the gamblers here.

Luckybit guys, great work.
I was missing these people BtcBoss, engineer, Flux, Jo, etc. and always wanted this. Though I need to sign up for an account there now, I am really happy to say that I can afford these bet sizes as they are not a burden on the head any higher.
1630  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is Deterministic wallet? How can I make multiple addresses point to one wal on: September 28, 2019, 10:55:54 PM
New blockchain.com wallet is HD, the old (legacy) wallets aren't.
Maybe you're talking about the old blockchain.info wallet which wasn't Deterministic.

If you have the new Blockchain.com wallet, the Mnemonic Phrase you got follows BIP39 standard
which is compatible with most recovery tools and light clients like Electrum, give it a try if you want.
New/Restore->Standard wallet->I already have a seed->Click "Options" then BIP39->Select the address type

Thank you, I tried this, worked finally.

Quote
FYI, changing the receiving address in every receiving transaction is a common thing for wallets for their user's privacy.
Even for non-HD blockchain.com, it generates new random address & prv key pair everytime you used an address and keep the old addresses in your account.

I know that it generates new random address and new private key pair but I don't think I was ever able to get that private key on hands from that non-HD wallet service provider and they never let me sign messages through those newer addresses and that's what I was arguing here all about.
1631  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is Deterministic wallet? How can I make multiple addresses point to one wal on: September 26, 2019, 07:51:52 AM
But maintaining that privacy costs you your ownership because you don't own your private keys of all the generated addresses in a deterministic wallet.
You do? That’s why it’s called a deterministic wallet. Because you can determine the private keys from the seed. This logic does not make any sense. If you can spend the coins, you have the private keys. All it exists in the basic layer of BTC are the private keys.

How do you?
If it is a deterministic wallet like blockchain.com 'previously known as Blockchain.info' and I choose to opt for that web wallet and app, how am I able to sign a message through any of the addresses allocated to me in that wallet except those that I import in it? It changes addresses every single time and the wallet that allows you to have your private keys while also allowing you to sign messages through all of them is Electrum or Mycelium 'rectify if wrong'. Aren't all of these deterministic wallets?

Although i did not apply for any merits here but i really appreciate the good work you are doing to the community and i wish good luck to you in collecting the merits from your posts for next 90 days. I think you can apply for a merit source as this way you will get more smerits to distribute among the community.

I don't think I deserve a seat to become a merit source here, but all I believe in is: If we do good to someone, God sends something good to us. So I truly believe in people of Bitcointalk and I think I will receive enough merits for my post in the next few days to do more and more good for the community. Let's unite and take this initiative to the next level.

Thanks to those generous persons who helped me gain 3 more sMerits which I've already sent just now to the most deserving ones. There are still posts incoming, I'm liking them but can't send a merits just because I'm out of it. If you believe that a few posts above me (non merited ones) deserve a merit, please send them one or more according to your set standards.

Can you tell us which wallet are you using to send the coins, Dontme? However, please send my coins to 3KFtUH4E7kh2Pekia2oBGQZEYYmwhbQzCM

I was reading more about how we can secure our wallet data more securely. I came across that we can use Personal Security Devices(PSD) for storing the private keys securely from hackers by storing them in a tamper-proof and eavesdropping secure elements. Also, there are apps(PGP Apps) for these devices that work in conjunction with a host computer. It will store the encrypted data on host computer instead of storing the data directly.

Even if the devices are lost or destroyed, your assets are still safe.

I think this is the good way of keeping our wallets safe. What do you say?

Yes you are absolutely right there. Another way is to spend some money to get a hardware wallet which stores all our private keys and coins in it for the cost of a fancy teddy bear, using which we can only take out our coins whenever needed, so no need of computers till there is some use intended.

What do you mean? I’ve been using an HD wallet (deterministic) for years.

Try reading the first previous replies. Basically, this type of wallet helps you with your privacy by generating new addresses for each transaction (while the older ones are still valid).

You just have to use it normally and get a new address for every new transaction.

But maintaining that privacy costs you your ownership because you don't own your private keys of all the generated addresses in a deterministic wallet.

1636  Other / Meta / Re: #RaiseYourVoice Initiative. on: September 22, 2019, 02:10:45 PM
There is a available thread, in which theymos actually replied. So, I think you can raise your voice there:
Community generated suggestions to improve the forum (+ eventual voting on them)
It might be easier to catch attention of theymos if you reply in that thread, rather than open new one (this one) and upcoming series of threads.

My series of questions are not just limited around this single issue but there are lots of questions I will be asking the admins one by one (relevant or irrelevant will be decided by the community) and see if I could get a sound response from them on that question. I am not saying that my questions may not have been asked already, they might be. But I am trying to get an extra deeper scoop of information by digging in more.
1637  Other / Meta / Re: #RaiseYourVoice Initiative. on: September 22, 2019, 06:23:55 AM
I read somewhere that theymos will read and reply most of his PMs so if anyone got question can be directly asked via PM rather than a thread,IMO.

When we have a common thread but looking for the answers only from admin will fail.

Getting a response in private v/s getting it publicly while watching how much time they take, and if others are also interested in the discussion are two different things.

Where is your new Bitcointalk? #RaiseYourVoice <-- My first ever question, let's start it admins.
1638  Other / Meta / Where is your new Bitcointalk? #RaiseYourVoice on: September 22, 2019, 06:20:29 AM
Being in development since 2017, it has already taken around 2 years to build a $1.5 million forum with top security and what not. I wish to know when are you guys planning to make us switch to it completely from here? I tried to visit the beta but I was unfortunate because it didn't open. Is it still in developing phase? Where can I find a list of the bugs (old and new) that are being reported? Can I be a beta tester like other members? Does it really take this long to complete a project that's already 2 years old and yet not finished?
1639  Other / Meta / Re: #RaiseYourVoice Initiative. on: September 22, 2019, 06:15:12 AM
Good luck with your initiative but that's essentially the purpose of the Meta board. Anything concerning the forum anyone can create a thread here and air their grievances or whatever it happens to be. The second issue you will likely run into is somehow convincing the Admins to respond. theymos only responds to these sorts of threads if he finds it necessary, and I doubt that's going to change; apart from when he's just enjoying the discussion.

Sure, and I will also make sure that he will respond because the kind of questions I am talking here about are not going to be so easy but tougher, harder ones that could breeze their senses when they come into action. I believe he will surely enjoy the discussion, I will make him enjoy them and I will be throwing my first question in an hour or max 3. It could feel like a suction out of their brain to get through what I am trying to ask because the major reasons behind the questions are very complicated.
1640  Other / Meta / #RaiseYourVoice Initiative. on: September 22, 2019, 05:27:39 AM
I was thinking of asking too many questions directly to the admins and get straight answers, but I see they are the most busiest people on forum who always do something that makes the forum much better each day. So now, I will not be going on a rapid fire session here and go on a series of questions that may sound extremely rude, broad and sensitive. I hope that my #RaiseYourVoice initiative will do more good to the forum and I promise not to harm anybody's sentiments through this. Admins, please be ready. The series will take place any time soon (most probably today). Those interested in asking harsh questions about anything with which you are not satisfied or comfortable on the forum, use this initiative and make it a success by getting responses to all your questions straight from Admin court.
