1781  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Merits holding you back? Am giving them to most qualitative Newbie / Jr / Member on: May 27, 2019, 02:36:48 AM
Meta is most certainly the wrong place for this , anyhow there has been a "famous" topic which achieves the same purpose , so if you have any Smerit you don't know how where to spend, check that topic.

Fixed that for us.
I had my own measures set in my mind for newbies which made me think to go for either your way or mine (I already knew that these threads exist). I chose mine because I want to do it freely and make users come directly to me to show what they have got with them.

Or he can move it on Beginners and Help boards just like what other members have done. Just like the following:

<snip>

IMO Beginners and Help is the proper place , not sure why @LoyceV decided to put his in reputation, but he must have a reason for that.

<snip>

Do you guys think I didn't try to post it in the correct board which is Beginners & Help? This topic was moved from there to here in Off-topic and I don't know the reason why mods did that.

Would it be begging if I sincerely ask to change the date, prior to February 10, I have nothing much to share here. I guess your rules are a bit strict for which you probably not having newbie flood  Grin

It's for the better of you guys, and if you think I'm going harsh on you then I will surely consider your request and see what I can do but I want this thread to get the type of exposure to have a better reach to those who need it.
1782  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Merits holding you back? Am giving them to most qualitative Newbie / Jr / Member on: May 22, 2019, 03:23:44 AM
I thought this is the best place where most of the members look for merits, so I moved this thread here.

Get your chance to gain some merits from me again.
I don't just promise and leave you in hopes, I do what I say. You can check all the links provided in OP where I left some merits.

1785  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain is giving everyone 25$ worth Stellar coins for free on: May 18, 2019, 10:19:30 PM
Free cash, claimed it myself, only sign up, verify your id and that's it.

More info:

https://www.pokcas.com/News/?p=blockchain-is-giving-everyone-25-worth-stellar-coins-for-free

So, it shows that your greed won upon your dignity.
Finally, you claimed your $25 and congratulations for the same. But what was the cost? You know what did you give against those $25? You have your complete identity and showed them that how desperate their users have become that they can't earn even $25 in real life. Go and ask anyone who is 2double0 and none will tell you about my identity. Why? Because I never shared my personal details and info that I am into crypto or anything related to the same. It is better to leave an opportunity than to compromise with our principles to grab it.
1786  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin,Litecoin,Ethereum,Ripple,Doge on: May 18, 2019, 10:05:11 PM
This time, it is a platform getting decorated for Bitcoin's sparkling rally which was in our long waiting list and I think BTC will prove to be the Supercoin by dominating the crypto at a level of more than 65% or even higher.
And alts will be in red for long this time, so it looks like BTC will not let them follow itself in its rally and will outperform all these alts during 2019-2020 sessions. I am just waiting for this animal to get above $14500 as this will confirm its new all time high to be above $50k which is far more than the percentages you showed in OP.
1787  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What kind of poker player are you? on: May 18, 2019, 09:43:56 PM
Hit and run had been a better option since I learnt how to play it as luck does not remain stable and playing with profits is like adding 2 more sticks to the boat's sides to help sail it but that won't help if your destiny gets you to hit storm. I had many encounters where winning once and leaving proved to be a great decision over playing back more games ahead as the cards won't be in your favor all the time. Some people try to be over-smart by just adding more and more chips for no reason but to make the other party FOLD their game, but it turns out really bad for them once these people with better cards sweep off their money out of their hands.
1788  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are you secretive about trading currency? on: May 18, 2019, 09:34:10 PM
When people ask, What do you do for a living? I have a full time job, but I also trade crypto-currency.  I do not like telling them about my currency and Bitcoin activities because when I tell people about trading currency online our relationship sometimes changes. They start scheming or they think "I can do that, better than you" and I suspect they want to secretly start trading too.

Does anybody relate to this?

Simple, if you don't want to, don't tell anything to anyone.
There's no need to show over-smartness about your trading strategy or anything related, because that will lead to breach of your pledge towards decentralization and privacy maintenance. It is good actually to keep our mouth shut over things like these as we don't know who's got what intention and may turn out to be whom later on.

Why would they 'want to' start trading secretly when you said that they compare themselves with you and yell at you that they are better than you?
1789  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you gamble only with Bitcoin and do you have other favorite alt-coin? on: May 18, 2019, 09:06:18 PM
In these days when Btc is very much expensive again, I look for better alternatives like gambling sites over Ethereum and EOS chain which give me the same type of games with much less fee for withdrawals and it becomes a win-win for me if I win big in EOS and price in BTC rises for that. I gamble with alts because BTC is sky high so I can't afford to lose even BTC0.001, but if I lose 0.001 Eth or EOS, then I am totally fine with it.

No matter which crypto currency we use, we tend to calculate in usd the profits and losses. So if the btc price is increased, you can lower your amount from 0.001 to 0.0005 approx. (so the usd value remains the same).  Yes, I do agree that the withdrawal in BTC gets more expensive as the value gets increased.

Why to watch fiat when we have got alternatives that are way cheaper than BTC and have had the same type of games available to play? I can lower the amount and I know that, but there are many websites with a 'minimum bet' of BTC0.0001 and some with BTC0.0005. Would you like to play there and give it a try to play with BTC0.0005 in one go for each bet? But if other websites ask for those amounts in Eth and other alts, why I won't be interested in playing with them and save a lot in 'USD'? Makes sense?
1790  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you suggest participate in airdrop? why? on: May 18, 2019, 08:52:21 PM
I got every part you told there, except ETH address.
How can someone be traced through it actually?

The possibility to be anonymous or pseudonymous relies on you not revealing any identifying information about yourself in connection with the bitcoin addresses you use.  If you post your bitcoin address on the web, then you're associating that address and any transactions with it with the name you posted under.  If you posted under a handle that you haven't associated with your real identity, then you're still pseudonymous.
Well, this also applied to Ethereum, right?
Who knows maybe an airdrop actually is a massive deanonymizing pool operated by an intelligence agency.

It depends completely on what and how we show our cards. Things like ETH are already centralized and it is proven many times, so the project conducting airdrop need not to be an intelligence agency because Vitalik has got too much control over these addresses that he will reveal everything himself to them if asked. The major cause for me to not take part in any of the airdrops is that most of them are ERC20 tokens working over Ethereum blockchain and no matter whichever project you give your KYC to for some dollars, your documents are assured to get compromised even if they show you huge privacy related content on their Privacy policy page. Most of them don't have an actual working concept and others are just clones with different names. I miss those PoW + PoS coins or just PoW coins that work on their own chain and had some real milestones to get achieved. Working for those coins was fun and they had value too, but these airdropped projects look junk to me and most of them prove out to be the same in future with no real use case.
1791  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is the bear market over? Important Weekly close! on: May 18, 2019, 08:32:17 PM
Many of us believed that the bear market is officially over already and the bull market has started. The correction that happened yesterday doesn't mean that it will not rise again. Its better to have a correction after a continuous rise compare to a market that is only rising and rising and rising. See what happened in 2017 & 2018.
this correction is much needed for stability of bitcoin price many who are waiting for entering this correction is good

It's stupid if you wait for the call forever when you already had a chance when BTC had a visit at $3500. All of these small investors lost their confidence and sold it for very cheap price, that's where the real big investment players played their games and started their journey collecting as much BTC as possible before the possible rocket shot that is yet to be witnessed. Whatever price is today, it's all due to those sellers who sold for pennies and now trying to get their hands over it again. I think the market has enough liquidity to keep it stable between $6000 and $7500 for long term (like it did when it was at $3700). Technically, BTC looks to have broken all major MAs which completely derives the fact that we are headed to a massive bull run, but going overbought is what stops it from the subtle heights to be reached.
1792  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you suggest participate in airdrop? why? on: May 18, 2019, 04:36:39 PM
Guys, I will tell you something essential in your life: There Ain't No Such Thing as a Free Lunch!

So when an airdrop seems free, it doesn't. It must have costs associated with it, i.e., your identity in the form of email address, ETH address, phone number, ID card, etc. These data aren't free! Furthermore, you risk your ID sold in the black market.

I got every part you told there, except ETH address.
How can someone be traced through it actually?
We can change a lot of addresses and there's nothing as mandatory use of our current ETH address because that leads to centralization where we are not allowed to use anything except our already used address. This doesn't really makes sense, honestly!

It has been too long since I did not participate in an airdrop, most of which did not bring any value. If airdrop requires you kyc, please be careful because they may be collecting your personal information for use for other purposes.

Correct, and to my knowledge, I think these projects do Airdrop for just 2 causes:
1. To give a better share to their investors (if it's especially for investors like Pundi X and not free) Or
2. They know that their project doesn't have any value and they are going to run away leaving investors and all data providers (KYC) in dark.

Nowadays many ICOs offer free coins, but we have two problems with this free coins, the first one the value of this coins will drop after start trading due to a lot have free coins willing to sell it, and the second they ask for your ID (KYC), and i think it is very risky to send your IDs to any one.

As it is all free money, who am I to stop you? And even if I want to, I can't because your greed will take you there.

Few things to consider if you are participating in an Airdrop:
- What percentage of total supply are they giving away in airdrop?
- Do you need to give your KYC details to them? I don't prefer to give my details for some dollars because it makes me feel that I am selling my identity.
- Do they have proper management to deal with the users taking part in airdrop?
- How long will you have to wait to get their airdropped tokens finally?
1795  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: $500k portfolio - Suggestions? on: May 18, 2019, 02:23:47 PM
I think ONT, NPXS and HOT are your best bet over Binance.
But to my observation, I also saw that projects which launch at Binance have superb potential but after dipping down a lot (if you want to purchase them after they start trading there) and if you believe in the projects (the latest one to launch will be Harmony), you should go for IEO price to save yourself a lot of money and reap great profits from your $100k.
1796  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptopia is gone? on: May 18, 2019, 01:23:11 PM
Cryptopia is gone?

I don't get what they mean
They liquidated so they are saying that
the exchange shut down
I cannot withdraw anything from their wallet anymore?

I guess they were hacked before and now, the news suddenly came ahead from their end that they got liquidated so yes, I don't think they are capable of giving back anything to their users at the moment.

See this - https://www.chepicap.com/en/news/9702/cryptopia-liquidation-everything-we-know-so-far-about-the-shutdown.html

Looks to me to be the best answer so far.
There is no news declaring that they were recovering from that tragic loss into the hackers.
They are not trying to help the community to get their money back and just gone. They are irresponsible team members. If your money were there, never expect to get it cause it for sure they don't care to give it back to the owners.

Hey man, why did you quote me when you didn't understand what I clarified in my words to OP?
I didn't adjoin anything with their hack and their current liquidation situation, but just gave it as an example that they are most probably victims (not sure, but it happens) and based on our mentality, we may be taking them wrongly and who knows if they couldn't do anything to help out the traders by being stuck in a situation where they have lost their funds already. How would they try even if they want to?
