You might want to have this moved to the Auction forum if you're requesting bids.
I'd ask for a lot less for this non-error, non-graded Casascius v2 1 BTC Brass. The error ones are going for what you're asking.

I see the company is Swiss, but that doesnt make it a Swiss or Swiss-made watch.
The Key watch http://www.winwatchtrade.com/the-key-nfc-mifare/ does not say "Swiss Made" on the dial. It must comply with certain rules to put that on the dial. Without it, you have a non-swiss watch at best sold by a Swiss company. That would mean its not assembled in Switzerland. It is also a Japanese quartz movement. No Swiss parts or assembly.
The more expensive Winwatch http://www.winwatchtrade.com/winwatch-f1787 does have the "Swiss Made" on the dial, and says it has a swiss made movement. To have that label, it must have at least partial parts of Swiss origin and have the final assembly in Switzerland. Some companies dont have it assembled there, and incorrectly use the term.
I dont mean to split hairs, but I would not call The Key a Swiss watch. The Winwatch may be, only if the following has been done:~~~~~~~ From Wikipedia: Swiss watch A watch is considered Swiss, according to the Swiss law if: - its movement is Swiss and,
- its movement is cased up in Switzerland and;
- the manufacturer carries out the final inspection in Switzerland
A watch movement is considered Swiss if: - the movement has been assembled in Switzerland and,
- the movement has been inspected by the manufacturer in Switzerland and;
- the components of Swiss manufacture account for at least 50 percent of the total value, without taking into account the cost of assembly.
If a watch movement is intended for export and will not be cased-up in Switzerland, but it otherwise meets the criteria to be considered a Swiss movement, the watch may say "Swiss Movement" but it may not say Swiss Made on the watch case or dial. A watch that says "Swiss Quartz" is considered to be a proper Swiss watch. However, it is often improperly used by foreign manufacturers to merely indicate that the quartz movement is of Swiss origin. “It is not generally known that quite a few Swiss companies have watches assembled in China for export to North America, Asia and even Europe, where the brand name is more important than the “Swiss made” label. Such watches may consist of a Chinese case and a Chinese crystal, a Taiwan-made dial and metal bracelet and Japanese hands. If the movement is to be considered Swiss, 51% of its value must be Swiss and at least the last wheel must be added in Switzerland. Swiss watch brands without the “Swiss made” label are usually equipped with a Japanese movement. The “Swiss parts” label means that the movement is assembled in Asia using kits consisting at least partially of Swiss made components.”

Not sure if anyone cares, but the picture they show on their website https://www.cryptsy.com/pages/about of their building is not where their listed address is. 160 Congress Park Dr Suite 101 Delray Beach, FL 33445 is about a mile away in a small new 2 story building. It doesnt show their name anywhere on the suite number nor on the directory. No way to know for sure if they are at that 160 Congress address, but its definitely possible. The building they show on their website can be seen on google street view at: https://www.google.com/maps/@26.477342,-80.090172,3a,37.5y,58.94h,82.59t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1s_RZ9N7f4SUn4mNj78aCXag!2e0Seems shady to me to show a building that isnt where they reside. Maybe they were there before, and never changed out the picture. Its not a stock picture, since it is a building nearby in Delray Beach. I live very close to the area. I decided to visit both buildings a couple days ago just out of curiosity.

I'm wondering how is this a Swiss watch? I dont see "Swiss Made" on the dial and the movement is Japanese quartz. Its very inexpensive if it truly is assembled in Switzerland.

Thats great news. Looking forward to the new .25 and .05 coins. Put me in for one of each of the funded ones when they're ready.

I would vote for a shiny copper. It would remind me of Olympic medals (least expensive.. copper, middle.. silver, most expensive down the road.. gold or silver with gold). Nolacoins follows this model for their .5, 1, and 3.0 physical bitcoin , which come in different colors for different denominations.

I would vote for higher quality. There's a lot of lesser quality coins out there, but the thing that appealed to me with your coin was the sculpted relief, varying finishes (polished vs frosted), size, weight, and rarity. After I received my first coin, I liked it so much, I ordered another.
i think you should maintain the quality of your brand and not devalue it.
If the price of bitcoins stays high, people will be willing to pay more for the coin itself.

The only way I would allow for the coins to be sent unfunded would be to require that each hologram be marked with laser engraving stating "BUYER FUNDED". I can do this.
I suppose this is an option to the winner of the auction should they prefer to have me sent their coins unfunded through customs (Non U.S. buyers).
Once the auction ends it really doesn't matter to me. I just figured the winners would want unmarked coins as they were the first assembled of their kind etc.
If you are allowing the coins to be sent unfunded, without requiring they be funded upon receiving them, then: .5 BTC #B2 If outbid, then .5 BTC any roll Sorry if I am misunderstanding what you wrote. I live in the U.S. I just prefer to not fund them now. Yes the coins can be sent unfunded and funded when you choose. I will just mark all of the 20 holograms in that roll with a laser the phrase "BUYER FUNDED". If you are okay with this then I accept your bid. I will update the leader board in 3 hours or so. OK. Sounds good. BTW..its 432am EST. I happened to wake up early and check the auction.

USD, and yes collectors items usually have value to the seller too and I decided on a price that would make me willing to part with them. No kidding. For $20k, I sure would be willing to part with them too !!

No more coins left.I'll put the four special coins on eBay starting with the Red next week (Yes, I know I've been saying that for something like three week, but this time, it will happen ) Wow.. that went fast. I could have sworn there were 35 or so left as of today. Glad I got my two in. Are you planning on making a new design soon, now that you're sold out? I'd love to have them limited again to around the same edition size.

Asking 20k Is that in US Dollars or Zimbabwe Dollars? Thats quite a markup over what these funded BTC sets sell for just for the serial number. I appreciate collector value...but still.

Charlie,
Sent you a PM. I'll take some.

I would urge anyone looking to pick up a great coin, to take Arash up on his new offer for self funded coins.
I have one of his funded 1 BTC nolacoins and they're beautiful and very affordable.

|

Best of luck on your exam Arash.
Cant wait until August for your new coins.

I'll second that.
I've purchased a few coins from monkeynuts on separate occasions. All coins were delivered quickly overseas, prices were fair, and he had excellent communication.

I have a quick question
The ANACS website mentions that one has to submit coins in Mylar flips. All my physical bitcoins are currently in Airtite capsules, which I would prefer to keep in while being shipped. I would prefer ANACS open the capsules once they receive them.
Has anybody sent a coin in its capsule to ANACS to be graded, and if so, was it accepted?
|
|
|
There's a few words about Arash in the first post right above the pictures of the coins.

Someone has asked and paid for, a single 5btc blank Casascius that i earlier posted, i wasn't going to sell as singles.
So i now have x9 5btc blanks left to sell, as singles if others want.
0.15BTC including capsule and standard tracked postage.
Cheers.
Thanks for your willingness to break up the set. I appreciate it! Looking forward to the 5 btc blank
