Sorry to hear that. Didnt realize California had its own rules about them.

If we were to put in a bid, wouldnt we price it low enough, like say at a 30% discount from the market value at the time, so we're not buying coins at a premium, unless the market tanks after our bid?
Whats the incentive for someone to knowingly purchase coins at a higher rate (premium) than market value? Doesn't make sense to me.
If the coins we invest are used as collateral, how much collateral do you think will be needed to secure the loan...maybe say 20% of the total loan amount?

I may be interested if buying the coins and we are sent a proportionate amount of coins back, versus the group selling them.

The same argument could be made for any physical bitcoin. I doubt someone today may redeem a funded one now, but it could have been redeemed some time back.

I'm looking to buy one redeemed 10 BTC Silver Casascius Coin. I would like the hologram to be in decent condition. I prefer Silver/Gold, but would be interested in an all Silver.
Please PM with offers.
Thanks

Sounds interesting, will you do escrow transactions?
Sure... escrow is accepted if buyer paid. Some recommended members that do escrow include SaltySpitoon, Tomatocage and OgNasty, but you're free to use whoever you wish that has done a number of escrow transactions on the board.

I asked this question before in its own thread, so I hoped one of you might know.
The ANACS website mentions that one has to submit coins in Mylar flips. Some of my coins are in Airtite capsules, and others came in stapled cardboard squares, which I would prefer to keep in while being shipped. I would prefer ANACS open them once they receive them.
The flips seem like they could cause marks to the coin pressing against it, and the hologram could stick to the plastic flip.
Has anybody sent a coin in something other than a mylar flip to ANACS to be graded, and if so, was it accepted?

If you live in California, you should be able to pick them up at your local pet store (i.e. Petsmart, Petco, Pet SuperMarket, etc). I live in the U.S. and have a few glofish that I bought locally.

They're 2 ounces of silver and thus are quite heavy and substantial. They also come with their own unique sealed holder. I saw them at the Inside Bitcoin convention in NYC recently. The added premium is less now that the coin comes in a 1 BTC denomination.

Thanks for the heads-up. I ordered one now

This isn't a version 1 error coin, and its not in mint condition. I would say its worth half of the OP's starting price.
I would recommend to the OP, to cut the price if you wish to sell. Again, you are free to do what you wish, but just giving friendly advice.

I wouldn't recommend cleaning/shining. Its best not to alter a coin's condition.

|
Based on condition, and the fact this is a v2 (non-error), I would guestimate this worth about 1.2 btc.
I think asking 2.5 btc is much too high. But of course, you are free to list it at the price you want.

Just like any collectible, its based on supply and demand. These particular coins are some of the rarer of the Casascius coins. Something like 800 minted, compared to the thousands of Casascius brass ones made, I believe. These .1 aren't listed for sale very frequently, so they command a large premium due to rarity. I've seen ebay listings at $750-1,000 recently when the price per bitcoin was $450, though I cant say what they finally sold for.
Just the bitcoin and silver content alone are only a fraction of the value.

No minimum bid? So would this be an auction-sort of thing? 0.1 BTC lolz. You may need to add 1 btc to that bid. These things are rarely up for sale.

Sent you a PM. I'll take one.
