1621  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake Loses $400K Bitcoin Bet on Jake Paul’s Bout on: March 02, 2023, 11:31:06 AM
Drake isn't the only one who has lost a lot of money at gambling, there have been many gamblers who have lost millions of dollars before at gambling. besides, Drake has also won multiple times at gambling before, so I wouldn't be surprised.

the lesson we can take is, no matter how reliable a gambler is, in the end, he will also lose at gambling. because gambling is a place to have fun, not a place to multiply money in a row.
another lesson we can take from Drake defeat is use the money you can afford to lose. because no matter how smart and rich the gambler is, he will eventually lose at gambling

Definitely! Some even lose millions of dollars, and yet they do not publish it. Besides, what benefit will they get from publishing their losses? The fact that Drake published his loss means that he gets a benefit from his post. It's kind of a partnership between the bookie, I think, so don't take it as a big deal.

Regarding gambling, it's not a matter of the size of your bet, but rather how much you can afford to lose. If you earn billions, it's only natural to gamble millions or thousands of dollars. But if you barely earn a thousand dollars a month, then your range should be less than $100.
1622  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: March 02, 2023, 11:07:51 AM

Breaking news, Danny Ildefonso will be back playing for Converge this Governor's Cup, what are your thoughts on this guys?

That's the news for today in the PBA. I'm happy that he is able to play, and now he is the oldest active player in the PBA, surpassing Hugnatan and Reavis in the list. I haven't seen him play during his prime days, so now I have a chance to witness how great he is. However, I wouldn't expect too much from him since he is not young anymore.

By the way, congrats @mirakal, big payday
1623  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The fruit of greed is never good,, on: March 02, 2023, 09:05:51 AM
Too much greed will certainly fall into a scheme like this. It was different from just being greedy for a certain opportunity but before they make a decision they also run into dip research. But in the case of your friend, he forgets to even do research as he jumps into it without a doubt believing this could make him rich instantly. Such a promising words could enticely make you think it was true and been our of your mind thinking if this is a scam. That is a winning trick that most scammers/hackers does and no way he could get it back.
1624  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you say about this investment plan on: March 01, 2023, 10:27:30 PM
Is it safe to invest in Defi projects that has it's own Stablecoin? There is one project I like but the thought of having a stablecoin makes me feel unsafe about the project, we all know how such projects always end up, the mess with Luna and it's stable coin still lives in me till date.
The cost that Luna had made could really make us think that investing in stablecoins is no longer safe but we can't just think that all of these stablecoins are can't be trusted, some are still worth it. But of course, we still need to act with caution and we should have to know deeper about the project that we are about to invest in. Risky, yes absolutely but this is actually what crypto is meant for. If we don't have the courage and if we are doubtful of such a project, it is better not to invest them.
1625  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you have any financial regrets ? on: March 01, 2023, 09:49:39 PM
It happens that we sometimes missed opportunities because of our financial capabilities. Yes, it was regretful but never we could think about blaming ourselves for it because not all opportunities are meant for us.
In your case OP, you have the capacity to take the offer but refused it because of a lack of courage. But never take it hard because there might be even better than that opportunity. Besides, buying that area couldn't make you rich unless you develop it so well. Meaning, you still need to spend another hundred dollars again and I'm not sure if you are still able to do that.
1626  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Favourite MEME COINS? on: March 01, 2023, 09:50:17 AM
Well many people are making Floki Inu a favorite meme coin. Floki Inu up 400% in this past month and 82% in market cap.
https://www.bsc.news/post/flokifi-passes-30m-in-tvl-floki-highlights-china-strategy
That is an interesting performance from a meme coin and I could smell hype on it making the price rise like that because honestly, it is beyond expectation and anyone who can see its performance could really think there is something wrong - a sort of price manipulation. We already know the risk we got in this kind of trick, it was good for early investors but for those who just invest lately, that is too risky and possibly lose their money if they will hold.
1627  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Figueroa vs Magsayo WBC Interim Featherweight Title (March 4) on: March 01, 2023, 08:26:02 AM
I am in favor of Magsayo in this matchup.
I voted Magsayo by KO/TKO.

It would be a great fight if Magsayo and Vargas have a rematch, both are no longer undefeated, one coming from a big win while the other came from a huge loss. So, the momentum is probably on Magsayo, and I have a feeling that he will be able to prove to us that he is better than Vargas. However, for that to happen, Magsayo needs to defeat Figueroa first, who is highly favored to win.
1628  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 01, 2023, 07:43:19 AM

Yes, saw that news too, and it's going to hurt the Lakers chances to make it to the playoffs. When you think that everything is working on their end, and we saw James still plays during their massive comeback and then limping out, and this could be the price to pay for that comeback of them.

He is getting old and became injuries prone to hunt him nowadays even though he takes care of his body more than any other NBA player right now. Too bad for them and they've just easily lost tonight against the Grizzlies. Maybe this year will not be their destiny to be playing in the NBA playoffs and even though they can manage to get to the play-in tournament, surely they will gonna struggle and probably will gonna be knockout without Lebron James to help them inside the court.

Without LeBron and Davis, or either of them not playing, will certainly hurt the Lakers. With what happened, I'm sure their chances of winning will drop, as they have lost their leaders. Let's wait for more updates regarding the injury. If he will miss games, hopefully it won't be for too long.
1629  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happened to this Eth Investor? on: February 28, 2023, 09:48:14 PM
That is possibly correct OP either he is dead or lost his keys. I couldn't imagine as well to a person who has that great amount in his/her wallet can still afford to hold until now and it is certainly there is something wrong happened to the owner.

Actually, this is a very common thing that happens to old investors as they never think that this will happen to crypto because, in the first place, we never care about it until such time comes we are badly needed for it and seeing it valued more than what we think before.
1630  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: February 28, 2023, 11:08:34 AM

They should prioritize these 2 things next,

1. avoid being down by that huge lead
2. don't feel pressured at the end especially when there are lots of ways to win that game

The Philippines did the right thing, but they fell short. I believe the defense was there, but if you watched the game, you would see that Jordan couldn't miss their 3-point shots in the first quarter. That's the reason why they were ahead by double digits. I would say it was a lucky game for Jordan since they don't shoot like that all the time. The Philippines did the right thing to come back but fell short, and that's it.

PH nationals manages to rally back but like goinmerry said even they try everything they still fell short and lose the game, good things it's only a no-bearing game for them and they can learn from that loss, you give your point and those who watch the game understand, Jordan got a good look behind the arc while the home team don't have that capability to answer back in the first half.

There are always a room to improve and we should expect good bounce from everyone.

In my opinion, the Philippines will improve. Coming back from a huge deficit of as high as 25 points is already a sign of a good team. They almost won, and that's the best thing they could have done. Although they lost, they gave the crowd hope that they could make a successful comeback.

Now, PBA is back to it's normal schedule and we will see more Ginebra games in the days to come.
1631  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: February 28, 2023, 09:54:45 AM
I can use AI to write articles, generate emails, make social posts and copies, and even double-check those since AI is not always right. How could I put my money at risk based on a decision made only by AI? Doesn't really sound wise to me for now.
ChatGPT cannot provide the latest information; hence, it cannot be used to predict present sporting events. You cannot get information from this AI. Instead, make your own analysis to predict the outcome of sports events. That's how normal sports bettors do it. There are no shortcuts to winning in sports, just hard work and dedication, and of course, being smart.
1632  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are investors so sceptical about Altcoins? on: February 28, 2023, 09:02:19 AM
I am not an altcoin fan but lately, I have spent some time on the alternative cryptocurrency board and I have seen a lot of topics bordering around whether or not to buy some coins and this makes me wonder why altcoins investors are full of uncertainty and always wanting to know the opinion of others before they invest.

Perhaps I did sometimes and there is only one reason I see why we are asking others' opinions on a particular project and that is to get an idea of the project whether it was profitable or a scam. Uncertainties had always been in our minds especially if we are new in crypto and of course, it was also because of many scam projects that are already in the market. It was best to gather information/opinion rather than relying on what you have read online and feedbacks as it can be faked just to gain interest from the investors.
1633  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why I've been scared to invest in bitcoin on: February 27, 2023, 09:54:55 PM
Well, the point is that you are afraid not because of the volatile nature of Bitcoin but it was because you don't have the courage to lose your money. Even though there is a regulating body this won't control everything in the market movements, the price will still fall or pump depending on the situation which means that you still have the chance to lose if you are too careless in making a decision.

What is in your mind is full of negativity and it was hard to get out of that condition. You can only see the positive view of Bitcoin once you empty your mind and stop listening to hearsay and FUDs as it won't boost your courage and trust.
1634  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still hunt for airdrops? on: February 27, 2023, 09:29:21 PM
Most of the new projects promised something good and high rewards which really raise your courage to participate and might invest but they mostly ended up breaking their promises. In their current market strategies, many had fallen into their hands and wasted their time participating and promoting their platform where participants are expecting reward money but unfortunately, these projects give only useless or untradable coins.

Should we still have the guts to hunt bounties? That is our decision now...
1635  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 27, 2023, 12:58:43 PM
Maybe Hearn advise him to take that risk to go down because he will be offered huge money in the table, in my opinion.

I think regardless, Bivol is capable of dealing with Canelo either in 168 or 175.

As long as there's a title at stake, that is already a good reason for Bivol to boost his confidence to win as in the first place, he really wants to collect titles.

According to some rumors though, the fight with Beterbiev will be the possible next in line for Bivol and that will probably happen this year. Personally, I'd rather want to see that first before taking Canelo in their possible rematch.

Same with you. I also wanted to see Beterbiev first before that possible rematch against Canelo. Whatever the outcome, Bivol still has that shot to bring his name up if ever he failed to snatch Beterbiev's belts. He still has a win against Canelo and if the promoters will hype the rematch for sure, there are still people who will support and watch the fight.

It will be at the hands of their promoters. Either way, it's still going to be a big fight for Bivol.

Selling a Bivol vs Canelo rematch won't be hard since they showed an entertaining fight in their first meeting. The media will hype Canelo taking his revenge, and in case he wins, we can expect even more hype for a trilogy. That's how great fights are made, and boxers and promoters can make a lot of money at the same time.
1636  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: February 27, 2023, 12:00:35 PM
What a game! I thought the Philippines would win because they had the momentum, but they missed the last crucial plays. Anyway, those who took the Philippines at +10 when they were down huge should win the bet. And if I remember correctly, the ML was 5.00, which is almost a win too.

Brownlee should have taken the last shot. The 3-point shooting of the locals was very inconsistent, or maybe he could have driven the ball and drawn a foul. But I guess Brownlee was also very tired because he had carried the team heavily.
1637  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Share Tips For Newbie Traders on: February 26, 2023, 10:17:49 PM
Trading can be a lonely and boring business at some point because, you do not have anyone to talk to and are just alone with your computer, phone, or tablet in your room, just trading. And many newbies may at some point think that they are probably wasting too much of their time. If you are in this situation right now, I want you to know that you are not wasting your time.

If you are an experienced trader reading this, how did you know that you were not wasting your time trading at the time when you felt this way?

We can call a period of time wasted when nothing profitable or knowledgable gained after it, while every moment we waste on trading could add to our experience and knowledge, so it's not wasted time. However, every newbie trader needs a period of time to get used to trading and risk management. Just like other fields, you gain experience as much as you spend from your time.
Learning is continuous in trading, every experience could give us some ideas that we can use in the next trade especially if we lose. The more we understand trading, the more we love doing it. A person who would think that doing something is a waste of time like trading is a person who is not really happy of what he did. In this case, it was unhealthy if we keep doing this but leaving and finding a new job is the best option.

But for me, trading is a great venue when wanted to earn money. It is risky as we all know but it is manageable when you really be doing this by heart and passion.
1638  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one is easier to make bets on? on: February 24, 2023, 01:42:02 PM
Do sport like football betting and MMA betting carries the same risks or one is more profitable to bet on than the other? Which one is more likely to easily predict than the other? Also, I need a platform where football prediction is certain, is there any of you guys using any reliable platform?
They all carry risks but the good thing about sports betting like in football is you already have a hint of what team will win especially when you are following the whole season. As I was a fan of ball games, I preferred to bet on football over martial arts and I see the chances to win are even higher than others. It was good to choose where you are comfortable with like if you are a fan of MMA, then much better to focus there. It was not just we are betting but we are also enjoying ourselves watching and supporting the sports we like.
1639  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Do You Feel Less Safe? on: February 24, 2023, 01:02:04 PM
That insecurities make you feel that holding Bitcoin is no longer safe no matter what you do because you are already been infected with such undesirable emotions and it was hard to remove them. Just take a look at the number of Bitcoin holders and investors, never think that they feel the same just like you but they are confident that 12 words are enough to give them security. In fact, it is not just how we measure fund security as it also includes on how you keep them safe.
1640  Economy / Speculation / Re: If history repeats itself: 2023 vs 2019 on: February 24, 2023, 11:45:56 AM
As a believe of the 4-year cycle, I believe that what happened in 2019 might happen again this year.

On the other hand, I don't think that it will reach that $50,000 price this year. It's possible still, but the chances of it are low (at least for me). It might reach that price next year.

Well, we are in a situation where the crypto market is performing better compare to where it was last year which is a sign of relief. What's good now is that, we are seeing Bitcoin signs of upward movement though it can't pass the $25,000 resistance as of this moment. We might see different price movements right now compare to where it was 4 years ago, but if we will look at the longer timeline, the pattern is still the same. Bear market-Sideways movement-Bitcoin halving-Bull Market.
I couldn't agree with you all but I also believe in the 4-year cycle of the market yet I wasn't really confident to see the same path again. Of course, the current situation is even better than last year as we are recovering from the bear season. Yet, we can't just say that we are moving far from the last year's situation, and anytime, the price of Bitcoin might drop again.
I'm not too much believer about the history repeat itself because it was to hard to rely on it from unpredictable market.
