1621  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price suppression - futures volume vs spot volume on: September 27, 2021, 11:51:21 AM
The change is the amount. You are 100% right about what you said, however the psychology of people changed because of the price. When it is few thousand dollars then people do assume 2x is easier, so from 3k to 6k sounds easier, and if it is 5 tk 10k that is still easier, or even 9k to 18k could become relatively easy. However when you are at 40k, it is harder to reach to 80k, or at least that is how people assume which is not half wrong but not fully right neither.

And you cannot really blame people in crypto for thinking like this because every cycle has become smaller in the multiples. I was lucky to see BTC go from below 1000 to 20k, and this year so far it has only did 3x from 20k to 64k.

At the same time people keep looking at other alts still doing 100x and 1000x and the main difference is in price.
1622  Economy / Economics / Re: How has inflation affected your savings and investing? on: September 27, 2021, 11:19:03 AM
For me,,, very badly but not in the way I expected.

Most people think inflation means they save even more,,, or put it in even higher yield programs like insurance mutual funds are so popular now compared to bank schemes. I still choose banks but only using government backed long term funds.

But the fact is inflation is growing faster than interest so I am saving less and less,,, and investing more and more in Bitcoin and pension funds.

It's actually funny how Chelsea wants to own all the stars in their. I wonder what Tuchel is planning next. I mean he has already been to the biggest stage and conquered it. Chiesa would be a great addition though. Dude is really terrific especially when he's at his best. Always an impact whether as a starter or as a substitute. As for Barcelona and Dembele, I expect him to sign a new country at Barca. Messi might be gone but he still likes it at the Nou camp.

Roman Abramovich guy,,, that billionaire has been wanting to build his own version of Real Madrid for many years now and since then even PSG owners have tried to do the same and arguably they have succeeded without winning anything.

This is nothing to do with Tuchel and everything to do with the Russian owners.

But the effect of all these stars going to England is many will fail to prove themselves just like many Chelsea players like Pulisic and Werner have seen!
1624  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I did not expect the Chinese government to promote the rise of decentralization on: September 27, 2021, 09:37:37 AM
I wish that were as true as you say it is. The fact is that this recent announcement by their banks only affected traders not bitcoin users. The thing about exchanges is also proving that the only effect this had was on those who were day trading bitcoin. DEX is also for traders not bitcoin users.
Otherwise people can continue accepting bitcoin as payment and paying with it at the same time, just like before since bitcoin was always decentralized and is not affected by what some banksters say.

Correct,,, which means most of the people affected will not be those on this forum (as much as I actually do not think there are many users here who are from China).

But I would say judging from people online, including Chinese users, no one has been complaining or worried mainly because they are simply users or part time traders, not heavy duty speculators.
1625  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: September 27, 2021, 09:03:33 AM
No I did not, I dropped out a day before first reward Smiley But I would have lost it anyway since free spins never work out for me.

As I said my only problem with the promo was that feeling that I have to do it every day and I had really crazy week. Than I played 5 mBTC on red or black while walking to the toilet to take the leak, 2 days in a row. Won one, lost one so break even but that is not something I wanted to do more often. I tried playing on both red/black once and got 3 zeros in 10 runs so that was out of question for me.

My local bookie has similar promos but they give you 2 jokers per months, meaning you can miss 2 days and still be in the running for the prize. Good thing Sportsbet is giving us so many different promos so there is something for everybody.

Oh sorry,,, I misread your post then:) Yeah usually free spins do not work with me either and this was probably the first time in my life I ever played Baccarat,,, and nice to win back over 1 mbtc from it so it helps to even out losses so far.

I think this promo is very hard to do also especially if you use internet from work like me, but luckily my shifts end in between days on casino time so I can play my off days anyway but still I would like this Joker option or holiday option. I even had to play on my holiday and it was very hard.

I apologize to anyone who predicted Spurs, on behalf of my team, but I also want to remind everyone when it comes to Spurs,,, be prepared for maximum disappointment and minimum satisfaction, hence three 1-0 wins followed by 3 games letting in 3 goals each.

Son and Kane will find a way to score again but not when our team is just so weak at the core.
1627  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin.org hacked. on: September 27, 2021, 05:07:12 AM
I barely ever use that site, i have no need for it. I think i went once to download the whitepaper or something, or to do a quick glimpse at other wallets available. As for your question, about where to learn about Bitcoin, the answer is obvious: Bitcointalk Smiley

You see, actual newbies will sadly land into bitcoin.com, if they aren't savvy enough to distinguish a legit site from a deface, they are even less to notice .com to .org

Yes,,, I know how it works and I know it is not often used, but still everyone must have seen it at least once and used it to see the whitepaper, google still brings it up as an early hit on search results.

Bitcointalk is where people learn about Bitcoin at a second or even third stage, but I guess the scene and search results have changed since I last knew as a newbie in 2016-2017  Undecided

Another Tether FUD.
Ok, for all these past years, Tether FUD is always around. Especially about the rumours of bear run around 2018, when Bitcoin made a peak around $19,000 - $20,000. A lot of people also told that it was Tether.
So I am expected this kind of FUD too now. Tether. So it could be true or not, Tether doesn't release any announcement about this. So, for me, this is still another FUD.

Other than news about Bitcoin is dead or will soon die,,, China FUD,,, miners FUD,,, Tether FUD is the news we can always rely on to hear when things get stale and journalists also find nothing else to talk about.

I have never trusted Tether, but I also think that most people including analysts over-emphasize the effect of this company on Bitcoin price.
1631  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: September 24, 2021, 02:20:28 PM
Don’t forget your predictions for the weekend boys. Some exciting games, probably the biggest game being Chelsea vs Man City in the early kick off. That one should be a cracker, I wouldn’t mind a nice draw so they both drop points Wink

Whenever these big teams meet I hope for 2 things: draws, especially scoreless draws,,, so that both feel frustrated and tired, and plenty of yellow cards and even reds. I know it is a bad thing to hope for but I guess all fans of weaker teams hope for the same Smiley

I do not see another 100+ points season for sure though. Everyone gets more and more tired.
1632  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: September 24, 2021, 12:54:11 PM
It is interesting to read about all of this discussion on live casino promo,,, Trofo you dropped out quickly but at least you got the first step reward:)

For me I have been using roulette 100% for all my wagering on Live Casino and it is taking even less then 15 minutes of my time. Longer if I want to catch losses but so far, most of my days are break even or even just a tiny bit loss because I always play to catch loss.

After the reward yesterday won 1.5 so I am now back in profit and that amount can last me at least 5 bad days but if going at the rate, probably more like 20 days.
1633  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elizabeth Warren claims on: September 24, 2021, 12:07:51 PM
A six-month period has seen $80 million stolen from Crypto as a result of scams, claims Elizabeth Warren. Aside from the $11.11 Billion in fines US banks received for shady business, she neglects to mention the $12 Billion in overdraft fees consumers will pay to banks in 2020!

What is your opinion in this regard?

I think although she claimed,,, she would have had to back it up from stats or the numbers were given to her from her minions Smiley So I think we do not have to argue about that. The problem is what else in fiat is either hidden or unreported, like what you said, the 12 B of overdraft people paid for nothing, which, by the way most of it is extremely unfair.

Both are scams,,, the only difference is overdraft is a legal scam.
1634  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Italian Serie A ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread on: September 24, 2021, 10:33:51 AM
you can't expect to have BTTS in any game Serie A, Milan was expected to win, but Venezia is obviously very weak
Cagliari lost against Empoli, really did not expect that to happen, but my pool position shows that I do not follow Calcio as other competitions, and what I expect from Cagliari is not in line with their team and ambitions, last season we successfully avoided relegation in last rounds, but this season seems to be a harder one

Trofo would disagree actually, and in almost all the big leagues now BTTS seems a good one if you make a multi with the high scoring sides and weak defence sides. I think always multi Inter, with Real, with Man United Wink

Hats off to you, leea-1334! You managed to keep your great start and win 18 points.
Thank you! Too bad no prize for yellow cap here but I am happy to climb up the rankings for this strange league (strange for me) Smiley
1635  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Polygon vs BSC on: September 24, 2021, 10:00:30 AM
I think BSC remains the best because BSC can achieve a block processing time of 3 seconds by using something called Proof of Staked Authority (PoSA), where participants stake BNB to become validators. Importantly, there is no subsidy for newly minted BNB as BNB is not inflationary and its supply decreases over time as Binance regularly "coins burn"
While Polygon currently only supports Ethereum bases, the network intends to expand support for additional bases, based on community suggestions and consensus. This will make Polygon an interoperable decentralized Layer 2 blockchain platform.

Are you guys not tired of talking about fast confirmations when all of these fast block speeds just means less security? 1 block confirmation for Bitcoin means many more blocks confirmation for other chains,,, or does BSC chain also only take 1 confirmation to mean something final?

Also, you do not call a coin deflationary simply because it regularly burns coins. BNB was never mined, just all premined. Remember that Smiley

1637  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀-Sportsbet.io-🚀 - Main sponsor of Southampton FC 👋👋 on: September 24, 2021, 08:47:40 AM
It was a huge error to bet WHU-MU. They played just several days before and MU decided to rotate a lot of players for this game. And the same time even bench MU players can win WHU, and if you look at the match stats - you`ll see that MU had to win it. So it was an unpredictable match.

To be fair, West Ham also changed 10 players so both sides were playing most of the match with their B team,,, it is just that I think West Ham B side has more practice and playing time with each other than United's side. So you are right, United was still supposed to win this, such is that the bookies placed the right odds. It was not a mistake to bet on them, and they had many more chances but just did not convert.
1638  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price suppression - futures volume vs spot volume on: September 24, 2021, 08:06:20 AM
That does not sound right OP. I came into Bitcoin in 2017 (maybe a bit earlier but 2017 was when I had my own first real wallet) and I am very very sure there were already big news about futures markets and a lot of people placing bets on futures.

Maybe at the time there was no "official" futures platforms but online I even remember on Ethereum there were many betting Dapps with Bitcoin futures betting.

Some tokens also have the same futures being bigger than their actuals and their prices are not being suppressed Smiley
1639  Economy / Economics / Re: Now UK is facing inflation so choose the best for you.. on: September 24, 2021, 07:28:01 AM
I have mentioned in my post that government only find it suitable to print more and more notes to tackle these fiscal deficit and making the fiat worthless in global market which in turn in contributing immensely to the hyperinflation situation. Many poor countries are facing such situations and it's really shocking to see million dollars bills also being printed to buy stuff like toilet paper only.Imagine the situation in that countries and bitcoin could be great relief for them and boost economy as well. The government policies are not going to work in monetary relationship with these money printing schemes.

I was talking back in a few posts before this about how it was silly for people to say Bitcoin cannot be legal tender because it is so expensive as a single unit and exactly I pointed out how so many national fiat currencies needs hundreds if not thousands of units to make a single small purchase and YET they are still used as legal tender despite the obvious inconvenience of holding thick piles of paper cash.

In these countries even the coins exist but nobody ever uses them anymore.

Pound is still so strong though and over long years their inflation is not as fast as many other countries. We always see GBP as the most "powerful" unit in Asia.

^  Exactly.  But will Daniel Levy pay for what United will be asking for him tho.  He stillhas up to 2025 in his contract.  And Marital getting a new big, fat contract at United a year ago is beyond me.  He’s not worth it imho.

I have a nice answer for you,,, a big fat no  Roll Eyes .

Spurs people can hope and dream about Levy ever paying what a player is worth,,, or selling for what a player is worth,,, as the Kane drama has already proved to us.

Martial is a good player and to those who think he made his case worse with the last game losing to West Ham, ask yourself how you can perform when every time you are on the bench.
