1641  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino Critique {ODI World Cup 2023 Prediction Pool🏆} & Discussion Thread on: October 31, 2023, 02:25:38 AM
Also, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka seem to have equal chances of winning their match though I would give the edge to the Lankans.
We all of us were mostly in favour of sirilanka because Afghanistan team are unpredictable and mostly chocked so that why five of our members lock his decision in favour of sirilanka while just two guy add different and they were right because Afghanistan are now well improved team and for first time in ODI world Cup they won two consecutive matches  which is itself a huge achievement for them, also they have to play 3 more matches against Netherlands, Australia, southafrica so if they able to won at least two then they will have 10 points which mean they can move to semis for a first time in ODI world Cup history.

I had made my picks early, had no idea I had Afghanistan as my pick, all time I was rooting for SL in the match under delusion that I have selected them. Didn't confirm by checking superbru because I was so sure of myself  Tongue

Despite Afghans beating SA team in early game, I don't think they have got much chances for the semis. From the looks of it we have qualifiers decided, and those are India, Australia, SA and NZ — although Australia played really poor cricket before but they have came back really well.

If somehow, Afghanistan manages in semi it'll be treat for them enough, I already see their videos on Twitter celebrating wins, imagine the celebration of the match that gets them into semis  Cheesy

There are still a lot of permutations and combinations. Today we have the Pakistan vs Bangladesh match. If Pakistan wins this one, then they may replace Afghanistan at the no.5 position (Pakistan is having a better run rate). But then, Afghanistan in their next match will be facing a weak Netherlands. If they win, then they will be left with 8 points. And Australia will have a tough match against England and they need to win that one. Things are getting heated up at the moment, and apart from India none of the other teams have guaranteed their semi-final slots.

They may not be guaranteed, but I was judging from their performance.

This year's World Cup is mainly for India, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Afghanistan, because these teams are performing quite well in this year's World Cup, on the other hand, countries like Bangladesh, England, Pakistan and Sri Lanka seem to be in disarray. England and Bangladesh are performing so badly that England and Bangladesh could not pick up a win except for one match. However, there is a doubt whether Bangladesh will have any qualification to play in the Champions League despite the defeat in this year's World Cup. If Bangladesh is not among the top 8 teams in the ICC ODI rankings, Bangladesh will not have any qualification to play in the Champions League.

I have held onto airdropped coins before and they usually don't see their listing price for long time, so I'm planning to dump this time around. I don't have kyc on cexes $TIA is going to get listed at, hopefully it'll be osmosis soon enough.

On a note, $TIA is trading at $2.9 on helix futures [1].

1645  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: next bitcoin? on: October 31, 2023, 01:42:36 AM
I don't think you require knowledge/ability to know about next bitcoin or any next big thing, such things come across individual spontaneously by sheer luck and it's in his will to get into it or not. Many people came across Bitcoin early, earned thousands, yet lost them by losing seed phrases/losing device where seed or pvk was saved and in other various ways.

To get into Bitcoin early and hold onto it until it reached significant amount of value is not an easy thing to do, it requires tremendous faith in currency itself. If you had purchased it at 5 cents, then you would have sold it at 1$, if not at 1$ then for sure at 150$, you'd have to go through several bear markets, until it reached it's peak value.

And then there these allurements of increasing your BTC holding by trading, which would have made you lose your stack.

Sri Lanka's current score is 183 for 6 with 40 overs to play. Looking at the current state of their game, it seems that the Afghanistan bowlers are putting a lot of pressure on the Sri Lankan batsmen. Sri Lanka's game looks like they are playing a strong team. If the run rate is like this then maximum Sri Lanka can score 240 runs. If Afghanistan can stop Sri Lanka within 240 runs then this match will be very easy for Afghanistan.

After Kusal got out SL batters fell rather quickly, regarding whether Afghans win today or not will depend on their openers, if SL can get their wickets early they are pretty much sure to lose, since they heavily depend on them for a good start.

There were several reasons for Sri Lanka's defeat, especially when Sri Lanka came out to bat, their slow batting made it seem doubtful that Sri Lanka would be very likely to score 200 runs. If Sri Lanka played an aggressive innings instead of playing in a defensive mood, Sri Lanka might have gone over the target of 280 runs, but the innings played by Sri Lanka in a defensive mood is considered to be one of the main reasons for the defeat. Moreover, Sri Lanka today is considered as one of the main reasons for the defeat due to very poor batting, fielding and bowling.

yea, I watched briefly during start of Afgan innings when they got the Gurbaz's wicket at mere 2 runs, and checked back right now and realized SL won the match. It's honestly surprising.
1648  Other / Meta / Re: Services board is very hard to browse on: October 30, 2023, 01:08:16 PM
I don't think signature campaigns are the "problem" here, the "problem" is that not many other services are being offered.
[snippy]
80% of those topics is created by users with a total of 0-4 earned Merits. That tells you all you need to know about how valuable those topics are. Without signature campaigns, the Services board wouldn't be worth checking anymore.
I've been working for crypto-related businesses since 2014 and I used to be getting a lot of work here. If I post about offering services now I'll end in page three in a few hours. 2014 wasn't a time when more people were using bitcoin by any means, but what has changed since then? Better job seeking websites have come out and I guess crypto businesses tend to use these.

That's untrue, I check Services board once every 24 hrs, on next page itself I come across topics that I have read already, I make sure to click few topic links daily so I know where I had left yesterday, and this is months of observation.

Just look at today's example [1], I checked services board around 12hrs ago there is nothing much new (I haven't clicked any topic right now).

I'd choose house as it is thing most people work their whole life to own, when you own one it feels like huge burden left your head and the freedom that comes with it.

You could also rent it to make passive income with it, real estate is thing that mostly appreciates so you could sell it profitably too, returns might not be great as Bitcoin/Business/Gold but then again I'd only sell if there was real necessity.

Some time ago, I wouldn't touch BNB because it's heavily dependent on Binance CEX however now they have widely used BSC chain, recently launched opBNB, now I'm like, BNB will likely do just fine down the line as both BSC chain and opBNB have BNB as native token and are comparatively more decentralized than Binance CEX.
1652  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What altcoins do you think are currently still cheap but have good potential for on: October 30, 2023, 07:47:14 AM
I think you can't go wrong with Ethereum, right now ETH is hovering around $1800, I feel it's easy 3x from here. There are other alts which could potentially give you better multiples, but I feel ETH is much less risky bet.
1653  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Layerzero Speculation airdrop on: October 30, 2023, 07:43:46 AM
...but I think even if there is an airdrop it will not be as massive as it was back then, personally i'm waiting for layerzero more but even layerzero having millions of active addresses already, i really don't have high hopes for this airdrops.
even worst with zksync, too much participants.

A large number of participants cannot be the reason for the cancellation of airdrop. And if the team decides to distribute an airdrop for only 1000 wallets, they will come up with such criteria that only 1000 lucky people will receive this airdrop.

Couple years ago paraswap did something like this, they had strict criteria so only few thousand wallets were eligible, but those few got good number of $PSP tokens. What happened? They dumped it hard, $PSP is still in ashes.

I love on-chain casinos, I'm fan of kryptogamers casino on hive which works similar however big difference here and there being — your casino runs on polygon while other runs on hive which is feeless blockchain, so I don't have intentions to use yours because even tho polygon is cheap you still require 2-6 cents to pay as fees. These also add up.
We don't charge those fees, and they are very low... the fact that we only take a 1% house edge compared to casinos that take 4% in most cases more than compensates for this... and the transactions are verified by Chainlink, which is not insignificant.

Yeah, I know you don't charge those fees, I was just comparing your casino to another which is on hive chain.

Kryptogamers Hive No KYC Casino

When I came across Bitcoin for the first time, and got hands on a few, I used it on gambling site called directbet. I loved how easy it was to bet with BTC there, you send the BTC, bet registered and you automatically receive your BTC (if you win).

I probably drifted there between gambling and btc here but this was my first experience using it and I loved how simple it was.

1658  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New way to keep your seed phrase secure. on: October 30, 2023, 12:34:22 AM
Idea:
Hello, I am sharing a new idea for keeping your crypto seed phrase safe. You can make your seed phrase more secure by translating it into different languages. For more security use a translator and translate in two or three languages and split them to different papers for more security.

So this basically mean you will enter your seed phrase into the translator which will definitely make it go online, so it is bad idea to begin with.

Google is not going to track me for my 0.002BTC. and it's not simple, a seed have 12 words I will translate 4 words in 3 different languages in different papers and keep them in different locations. Maybe 2 papers is good choice.

Do you know different languages or are you completely gonna rely on translators for translation? If it's latter, what guarantees the translation will be same when you want to know original words?

Security measure should be viable for all holdings, if it can only be used for small amount might as well just stick hot wallets.

I felt India will lose today since their batting was not up to the mark and they set target of 230, but Indian bowlers have destroyed England (55-5, atm), low chances they'd able to chase even 230.
