1241  Other / Meta / Re: Is this quality of life idea? on: November 20, 2023, 04:59:32 AM
I don't like the idea of the forum linking to an outside source, and in that way signaling to the user to go and visit that website. Instead, we could think of a way to display price information right here on the forum. I am not a coder, so I don't know what is possible with the current forum software.

@PowerGlove please chip in. Could the forum display current BTC price when you swipe the mouse cursor over a word that contains a unique piece of code? As an example, we can use the proposed $BTC. Is that or something similar doable?

It will always be necessary to use an external API for the price to be displayed.
Either way, I don't think a mouse-over system or specific code should be used for the post. The price of bitcoin is constantly changing, so if something exists it must be dynamic.

Well, ofc it should be dynamic, otherwise what's the use.

Anyway, I have vague idea about dev stuff, but javaScript could be used for such stuff right?

Quote
What could happen was in the forum header, for example next to the date/time, the bitcoin price would also appear. That would be more interesting.

That's not what I mean, proposed idea is more like, if user writes $btc or any other alt ticker, hovering over it would display that coin's price, hovering over is taken from comments here, it's better than click.

1242  Local / India / Re: ICC World Cup 2023 - India discussion on: November 20, 2023, 04:05:24 AM
So we have India losing final. This match was similar to India's early game vs England where also our batting failed (except couple players) and India made 229, there bowlers saved the day, here they couldn't.
1243  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino Critique {ODI World Cup 2023 Prediction Pool🏆} & Discussion Thread on: November 20, 2023, 03:56:24 AM
It's really tough moments for every Indian because they deserve to be this World cup winner because from start till now they delivered phenomenal much more then everyone expections, but like we all Asian has history to choked against big team in world cup last stage and same things Carrey on by India this time which is in my view very disappointing, just like I mentioned before that India hasn't add enough runs on score board to defend they are stil 80 to 100 runs shorter which can definitely done by Sharma and gill.if they played sensibly and carefully but unfortunately they don't and also bowler put huge on Australian in starting overs but later they give them room and time to settle which cost them a defeating partnership. Anyway it's part of the game and I am sure if you guys bring back Virat back as a captain then he will make difference.

I think it was all fine, I had bit expectation from Surya and Jadeja, they completely failed, what's with Surya to give strike to bowlers? I don't get it. Did he not have other shots to play except going for 360? Even Kuldeep Yadav was getting ball better on bat than him.

Social media people are blaming Kl Rahul for his test like knock, but imo it was his inning that helped India make even 240.

Rohit should have kept slip for spinners, 2 dropped chances of having Travis early due to not having any. This match was about wickets, so he should have taken his chances. Also, Travis was having trouble with pacers in start of game, pacers should have continued.

I have lot of what ifs, but they can't change what happened, and all this only because they lost the game, a win would have covered all their faults.

Having slip for spinners would have changed the game, two catches were in vain because there were no sIip and that too they were of Travis Head who was match winner of game.

In one of prior games, Wattson during commentory said that if someone will defeat India this world cup it'll be Aussies, I didn't believe him at that time but it turns out true.

Hope odi format stays, it's just as entertaining.

Now, it's time to enjoy memes.
1246  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ICC WORLD CUP 2023 DISCUSSION THREAD! on: November 19, 2023, 12:21:34 PM
although Surya is still on crease but I don't expect much, it appears he'll stay at crease while new batters coming will get India alll-out.

Ok, he gone first and what a disappointment for his fans. If there is no pace in ball, should try to hit somewhere straight, no? Is 360 is necessary? At this point, I felt like even Ashwin would have been a better choice and missed Hardik Pandya, also.

1247  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ICC WORLD CUP 2023 DISCUSSION THREAD! on: November 19, 2023, 11:58:16 AM
I don't know what happened. Australian bowlers were average during tournament, today they seem deadly. 213-7 at 44 overs, India might not even make 250 today, although Surya is still on crease but I don't expect much, it appears he'll stay at crease while new batters coming will get India alll-out.

I don't want Aussie to win again WC but if they do, they deserve it. Excellent bowling, fielding and field placement so far.
1248  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How much was the price of Bitcoin when you started trading? on: November 19, 2023, 09:45:01 AM
I vaguely remember btc being around $150, afaik time was around 2015. Although, I got into crypto couple years prior to that with stellar airdrop (now called lumens or $xlm), sold that for peanuts in fiat instead of converting it into btc.
1249  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ICC WORLD CUP 2023 DISCUSSION THREAD! on: November 19, 2023, 09:29:00 AM
11 overs and India 82 for 3, although they are at good score thanks to Rohit Sharma's aggressive start yet again. Rahul and Kohli at crease now, they'll look for partnership similar to start of tournament against same opponent. Surya will have huge part to play today.
1250  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: November 19, 2023, 05:20:22 AM
When players like Jayasuriya, Muralitharan, Sangakkara, Jayawardene and Malinga were in the Sri Lankan squad, I miss this squad a lot. Personally I am not a fan of Sri Lanka cricket. But I like Sangakkara, Jayasuriya and Malinga very much. I like Sangakkara's batting style. He was an excellent batsman and human being. But the current team in Sri Lanka is completely opposite. I think most of the players in the team are rude. They did not even shake hands with the Bangladeshi players after the game against Bangladesh. Also we see at times they behave strangely after getting a wicket. However, this is not a fault, but it seems strange to me. Players should be a little more patient. As they are professional players.

I think there is still same quality but there is something off. We saw good innings from Samarawickrama, Mendis, Perrera, Asalanka — although I'd agree they weren't consistent while Madhusanka as bowler was consistent throughout the tournament.

They say with confidence half game is won, there was none in Kusal when he talked during the toss. I think this affects the team as well, they don't have any veteran players that probably affects too.

Regarding not shaking hands with Bangladesh, they did this due Shakib - Angelo incident.
1251  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Altcoins on: November 19, 2023, 05:10:20 AM
I got $TIA from their airdrop but sold very early. Anyway,

As we look forward to the anticipated bullrun come 2024, what altcoins are you holding and why do you think they will bring more returns compared to others?

I hold $osmo,$ether, $hive, $arb. Osmo is central ibc coins exchange. Ether, I just have lots of faith in it, they have got solid foundation, these countless layer 2s popping up are merely giving more publicity to it, Vitalik is young fellow — Ethereum gonna get lot improved from his long presence. Hive, I like community there and it's feeless blockchain which I really appreciate. Arb, holding airdrop, it has highest TPS amongst layer 2s, I think arb gonna reach new heights, it's short term ath of $7 currently should easily be surpassed when it's time will come.
1252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Buy more ETH..... on: November 19, 2023, 04:16:35 AM
Op you gave advice on correct time when was perfect time to buy eth and it is already flying higher as you predicted. And we are expecting that soon eth is going to record another milestone cause when new people come to crypto market they start involving with ether after Bitcoin. And that's why volume is getting higher and it able to brake all its previous record each time during bull run. This time, we'll going to eyewitness of it again as i believe

What I like about eth is that it has solid foundation to begin with. So it is no doubt, one of the top choices to invest with in crypto.
Better gor for eth if you want to invest in meme tokens. At least this platform has proven their usage among crypto users.

I don't get it, why would you want to go for ETH just to invest in meme tokens ( (I assume you meant here going through dex)? Imo, meme tokens are pure gamble, you may make money or lose also, while ETH I consider it to be safe investment.

Don't go for ETH to buy meme coins, buy ETH for Ethereum's sake.
1253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Scroll — Airdrop in 2 minutes on: November 19, 2023, 04:07:47 AM
You're talking about how I have to create fake trading volume on Scroll to get an NFT that would qualify me as an Adrop win, with no guarantees and having to wait a month? This is a lot, and after obtaining Adrop, there is no guarantee that it will be of value and that you will be able to sell it. Even if we assume for the sake of argument that all of this is true, there is no guarantee that this process will achieve profits.

Retrospective airdrops are gamble, no one can guarantee anything. Doing this tasks is like throwing darts in dark, if one of them hits the goal, you make good money. That's it.

1255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Open source multi crypto wallets! on: November 19, 2023, 03:35:49 AM

Thanks for the name, I didn't know the existence of this wallet, and upon checking their website and GitHub page it seems they are pretty good but the only thing is only supports Ethereum and it would have got more user base if the wallet supports multiple chains because those olden days changed now due to the existence of BNB and other chains.

They support all evm networks, if it's not available in wallet by default you can add it manually by getting info from sites like chainlist [1]. Popular chains such as bnb, op, polygon, etc are there already, you just have to enable them from settings.

expect that hacking and scamming will never be stopped.

Yea, I don't. There are always newbies to prey for, once one batch has learned their lesson there will be another fresh batch of newbies, it's never ending cycle between hackers and users who get hacked.

However, one thing that can be done is, once one has learned their lesson, they can share their lesson with others, so few may be saved from committing same error.
1257  Local / India / Re: Proposal for new boards, editing in current ones and removing on: November 19, 2023, 03:27:49 AM
So I just had few ideas about restructuring this board, posting them here. Let's hear your opinion.

[NEW]Entertainment zone: A place to talk about movies, video games, cricket and stuff. 5g is penetrating in India, cod-m was a huge success, warzone mobile is approaching, we could have gaming tournaments, who knows? Winnings paid in crypto  Grin

I think this comes under off topic and we can discuss it there.

I think entertainment world is huge, and everyone is living for it these days. it deserves it's own section. Off-topic has that aura that useless posts go there, so I don't think so, even wc cricket discussion is posted in default board, if it was posted in off-topic section, I think it would be having less visibility. I don't remember checking off-topic last time myself.

[Rename] Altcoin Announcements in hindi: Bounty translations posted here
This should remain the same and ANN threads in English should be posted here.

We could have Announcements as main board where users can post anything altcoin related and they should be in English while this sub (Altcoin announcenents in hindi) specifically for translations, or may be we could post regional language translations, hindi and every other language available, so sub name should be like, "Regional language translations". Latter sounds better to me now, but users should only be allowed to post in their language there only, rest of board English.

Deals and Offers zone INR: similar to desidime, a place to interact about deals and offers going around in India
Interesting idea but do we really have a lot to discuss about offers so that we can have a separate child board ?

I'm sure there are plenty, and Indians love offers.

Quote
Quote
[Remove] Regional languages: let's stick with one language for entire board (ie. English)
I think this should be there and further more it should have child boards forb altcoins ANN and off topic.
So that people can post ANN threads in regional languages and discuss off topic posts in their languages.

I have said above comment replying TheUltraElite why I want one language for entire board, I don't want to part of sub where I feel like an alien.

Quote
Quote
[Remove] Buyer and seller reputation - topics posted there are complete haywire of what that board was intended for.
I think this should be renamed to Scam Accusations instead.

I don't know what that sub is for if I'm being honest but I'm pretty sure topics there are irrelevant.

People may not know about crypto but some of above sections will help them familiar with the forum,I think that should be our first goal to make this sub lively.
1258  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I have a question about posting a bounty. on: November 18, 2023, 12:35:01 PM
lol bruh, https://brink-coin.com/ — this is your website, correct? (I'm quite sure it is because Mike is listed there in team members list on website as well).

And If I get it right you are running an ICO and want to promote your bounty here, fair enough you can contact bounty managers as others have commented, but for sure that ain't gonna work for you if you are to pay them with your shitcoin, shitcoin because anyone who gives quick look to your website can tell.

1259  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Uniswap launches android wallet app on: November 18, 2023, 12:12:48 PM
What took them so long?

They should have introduced this app during the previous bull, when the platform's hype was still so high. One reason I have never fancied using Uniswap to trade was initially because of the insane ethereum gas fees, and then there is away I hate using the Ethereum copy-cat chains.

I mean there was really no need of it tho, if you use apps like Zerion/Zapper (couple popular ones of many) to make a swap, they will aggregate data from various dexes including uniswap and will give you the best price.

Aggregators are much better in my experience, I was swapping USDC to ARB on arbitrum couple days ago, uniswap shown about $10 gas fee which is insane even by ethereum standards, then I went to Camelot dex aggregator and paid about half dollar to complete swap.

Since metamask extension can be used on android with extension supported browsers so I prefer web aggregators than installing apps, nonetheless, zerion/zapper works just as good.
1260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Pyth network retrospective airdrop eligibility checker live on: November 18, 2023, 09:52:27 AM
Details here: https://pyth.network/blog/pyth-network-retrospective-airdrop

Eligibility checker: https://airdrop.pyth.network/

Pretty broad criteria, also one of few projects where nft holders and discord roles are given attention in the airdrop distribution.

Claim date to be announced.

I checked my address, but it doesn't meet the criteria, even though I'm quite active on EVM, or they have other criteria that I don't know about, if anyone knows the conditions for getting an airdrop, please let me know.

Detailed criteria is given in first link mentioned in op. You were to have used dapps using Pyth as their data provider to be eligible for airdrop. Similar happened with me on Osmosis as mentioned in one of prior comments.
