1181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do You trust Tether (USDT) Stablecoin? on: November 24, 2023, 12:12:51 PM
As long as your funds aren't coming from shady sources, I would call you a normal user  Tongue

Yea, it's similar to traditional banking but there are some pros here like you can exchange easily to or from usdt/usdc without kyc (on instant exchanges/dexes — if cexes require kyc), and also no worry even if you convert huge amounts unlike in banks where if it were $10k you'd be asked whereabouts it came, why are you withdrawing, etc
Indeed. Tether has only been blacklisting address belonging to criminals. I haven't seen or heard of a case where an average person gets his/her USDT funds frozen for an unknown reason. I know PayPal will do it with his stablecoin (PYUSD), especially when the company uses to freeze or restrict customers' PayPal accounts at will. Stablecoins like USDT and USDC are a much safer bet. If you want to avoid KYC, buy/sell USDT through a DEX. As simple as that.

I wouldn't be surprised if someday the US government requires stablecoin issuers to comply with KYC at the protocol level. That would mean altering the smart contract code that would require users to verify their ID before getting access to it. If this happens, then Tether and other centralized stablecoins will lose ground big time. I'd prefer a decentralized stablecoin anytime because of the benefits it provides. If only DAI had bigger liquidity and an ecosystem as large as USDT's, the majority would've moved to it already. At least we have a choice. Who knows how long will Tether last? Grin

Pretty sure if something like kyc happens to USDT, most exchanges are gonna move to DAI, I have also lots of faith in it because they have done their home work well [1].

Assuming the worst case scenario and already having preparation for it? I'm sold.

Physically Resilient: The Endgame Plan assumes that at a point in the future, there will be a severe crackdown on use of RWA in crypto. Anything that can be seized by global powers may be at risk of seizure through legal means. Physically Resilient RWA are real-world assets that cannot easily be seized. A DAO like Maker can retain some level of technical sovereignty over such assets.

1182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why would someone want to buy an old empty ethereum address? on: November 24, 2023, 11:54:33 AM
The answer to your question is more than obvious, since the new wallet cannot claim retro airdrop, buyers are trying in this way to eligebet for airdrop in the future. And it is transactions on the Ethereum network, as a rule, that will act as one of the conditions for receiving airdrop, since sibyls avoid interactions on this network due to high commissions.

I also think it's so somewhere along the lines, but don't think it has to do with high fees of ethereum or that sybils don't have resources to make transactions, rather I feel that projects who gonna do retro airdrop will outright disqualify wallets which are new for reason that it might have been created for farming airdrop, so sybils are trying to avoid that and are looking for older wallets.
1183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Web3 Platforms Connecting Users with Opportunities on: November 24, 2023, 11:34:55 AM
What you just have to do is to keep looking for those platforms based on what you're thinking about incentives that gives to their users by holding a certain crypto. It's a common thing for many platforms and all you have to do is to keep looking on them and basically, the more quantity you hold for that specific token or crypto, the more rewards you'll get.

Afaik, only $tia sorta falls under that category because it rewarded to osmo/atom stakers (but it had only minimum criteria of staking $75 worth, you didn't get more if you staked more), otherwise most reward for being active users of certain chains, it could be their own in testnet phase or may take evm chains activity in consideration.
1184  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tron could be next doge or ada? on: November 24, 2023, 11:14:19 AM
I have never used ada but have used doge and I'd rate it better than tron, doge is cheaper to send and it doesn't require anything staked to make cheaper/feeless transactions.
1185  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin network fees are not high is you who can't afford it. on: November 24, 2023, 10:26:32 AM
Just because one can afford it does not make this fees alright. It's different feeling when you pay $2 for a transaction and when $15, you know you are paying more, and it's not normal.
1186  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 24, 2023, 09:47:58 AM
Very entertaining first t20. Rinku Singh is emerging out as a finisher that Indian team needs, also India still needs to rectify this where 6th wicket goes and pure bowlers starts coming in.
The first T20 match was really fun for the Indian fans as Australia beat India in the ICC final, India beat Australia in the T20 match.
I wouldn't compare these two, because both are vastly different. Winning here is no equal to a win in ICC WC.
Definitely comparing a 50 over format final with a Bilateral series that too 20 over format match is useless. Both the teams played really well. Vishakhapatnam was a batting pitch, hence we saw the bowlers were thrashed by the batsmen. India won due to only one player according to me. It was Mukesh Kumar’s last over, where is just conceded 4-5 runs. Other bowlers were giving away 15+ runs in each and every over, but the clever bowling by Mukesh in the last over, made Australia limit under 210 runs. What’s your thoughts on this?

I only watched highlights, wouldn't be able to judge proper but looking at scorecard, he's having lowest economy rate amongst all bowlers and that India won by only 1 ball, Mukesh Kumar indeed contributed to the win.
I think Mukesh Kumar should be heavily considered in an Indian team. Mukesh Kumar had a decent economy rate in yesterday's match and Australia's batsmen managed to score just five runs in the last over. If Mukesh Kumar had been given a chance in this World Cup, I think he could have achieved a lot. But Mukesh Kumar should play in ODI series as well as T20. His bowling action and the occasional yorker showcased his prodigious talent.

I think sirajj-shami-bumrah trio is good as it gets, but he'd been certainly a better choice in 15 squad instead of Prasidh Krishna (who came when Hardik Pandya got injured).

but there are also crypto lending platforms where we can directly borrow a crypto.

Yea but almost all of them require collateral to be locked before you can borrow, so if you don't have any money in first place it's not a feasible option. I said almost because there could be platforms that don't require collateral, but I'm not aware of one.
1189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Polygon and PolygonZKEVM speculation on: November 24, 2023, 03:46:50 AM
I am not sure they are going to do any airdrop or not but their migration of matic token to POL is pretty exciting. What they are doing is adding all of their super net, zk chain and old pos network under one security layer where POL token holder can stake their token and secure all the network and earn fees from all the network by staking POL. That airdrop things can't be significant because a lot of matic in the circulation and it will be 1:1 token swap that means there won't be any new token that will be minted. What I think is they can distribute some kind of NFT to give especial access to their supporters.

Will current polygon mainnet survive in this migration or will it go defunct? From the looks of it, polygon zkevm looks expensive compared to polygon mainnet, which I'm not in favour of.

I'm pretty sure if you raised $250M you wouldn't be here. Other nitpicks, your Twitter account is suspended. You have 29 followers on insta. What you mentioned about Bitcointalk is not how promotions happen here.

You have typos on your website [1]. If you can't take care of your own website, how do you expect others to trust you to make proper campaigns for them?

Wdym with tip? Was this airdrop significant? Anyway, all big value airdrops came unknown, the platforms you ask about already there like galx/zealy/questn etc, but none of significant value airdrop rewarded users of these sites.

Airdrops are sheer luck, even people who got certain high value airdrops wouldn't be able to say confidently that this particular project gonna give airdrop in future.

It was an airdrop, man. Maybe not a substantial amount, but it's something, you know? Big airdrops didn't happen unexpectedly, in my opinion. Announcements were made, and those who had the information got on it.  Someone suggested Task2Get. I think I'll do my research on that.

There were speculations until confirmed by project themselves, but once they confirmed that they were to do an airdrop they stopped counting user interactions, or made announcement after snapshot for user interactions were taken.

Good luck with task2get.
1195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Retrospective airdrop experiences on: November 23, 2023, 03:47:05 AM
Recently  found the PYTH network Airdrop and that was on the Solana Chain which gives users a huge amount of free Airdrop which were qualify for it and the prices now has been 0.41$ per Token. Although I was not selected in that Airdrop but I have seen users have won $23k from just this Airdrop which works consistently. I have noticed one thing in all these Airdrops when the market is good then the Airdrop would be better and can give a huge amount of money to the users but when the market is not good that all then it would not give that much of the amount we expect from them.
Yea, this is why I suggest to take your part from airdrops you get, money is not yours until you actually sell. Many of current projects won't survive in harsh bear market conditions.
This airdrop for me is the real retrospective airdrop experience! Just like Arbitrum. No need for a lot of things to do, as long as you are using the product at all in general.
Just like what happened in Arbitrum before, like there are already lot platforms especially DeFi platforms in Arbitrum before the airdrop and you just casually using the chain without knowing or expecting any airdrop.

Retrospective airdrops are still like that, I mean that's what 'retrospective' word implies. It's just that people have started speculating whether particular projects will give airdrop or not, what will be the conditions, etc and then they do things/tasks in hope for getting lucky which sometimes works, sometimes not. You are free to not speculate and enjoy whatever comes on it's own.

1199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Buying old ETH addresses on: November 23, 2023, 01:17:51 AM
I don't, at any time, encourage the buying of old wallet addresses. Any wallet address that has more than one person in custody of the private key is a disaster in the waiting. When situations turn around, it will be premium tears as the losses will be massive.

Most times, it's not the fault of the person who sold it, it might be one of the approvals still active on the wallet, that alone can bring about vulnerabilities that will compromise one's funds

We don't know op's intentions behind buying these addresses but I don't think op would do something stupid as pouring money in address whose custody is with two users.
1200  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Wallet for Android / Re: Best wallet for Android? on: November 23, 2023, 01:07:46 AM
I was using Coinomi for more than a decade, however, recently it started to have loading problems even on 5G network so had to make switch. Was looking at moon wallet but it didn't allow restore with seed phrase so installed blue wallet instead.
BlueWallet is a good upgrade to Coinomi which is a closed source wallet with little to no activity from their developers. A little question though, since you have switched from Coinomi to BlueWallet, which is a BTC-only wallet, i am curious why you have been using a wallet like Coinomi to store your BTC's. I can understand if you use it for shitcoins that are worth little, but surely not BTC when there are far too many better alternatives out there. I would recommend that you move your funds to a fresh wallet created in BlueWallet, instead of restoring your wallet in BlueWallet with your Coinomi seed phrase.

I used coinomi as hot wallet, but yea probabaly better idea to start a fresh using Blue.
