- the world should unite instead of break down

the world is a globe, so it's already 1.
unless you mean one fuhrer or a(nother) bureaucratic monster to rule it, in which case you better count me out.

I meant that we should live together happily instead of fight each other's differences.
Not that it needs to be one country.

I'm not suggesting the fourth Reich under dictatorship.
1644  Economy / Speculation / Re: Things we'll see in this discussion list in 2022 on: October 10, 2017, 09:17:41 PM
Or....

Dear fellow coiners,

My BTC stash just hit the 10 figures.
I have so much money I don't know how to covert it to cash without raising suspicion.
I tried BTC ATMs but it will take me 150 years to get it out of the machine.

HELP!!!!

😎✌🏻
1645  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you check Bitcoin price everyday? on: October 10, 2017, 08:57:21 PM
Hi guys,
Just curious.
I bought a little bit a few months ago, for the first time, for the sole reason that I want to invest in Bitcoins, and get a profit after 5 years, maybe 10 years.
So I would not need to check the price everyday, as it is of no use for me. But I do, can't help it!

I am not the only one I guess.
It is normal and there is nothing you can do about it Grin … However, you should not let the daily price checking of bitcoin affect your decisions since you are holding for a long time and don’t ever get panic unless there is a very huge reason to which I don't see anyone as far as now is concerned.
If you want hold your Bitcoin for long term, why do you need to check its value every day?
Do you have any issue?
Check the price of Bitcoin = your faith for it still not enough and you are doubting your decision.

So you can estimate the size of the estate you can buy with it 😅

For me it gives a safe horizon to work towards with enough money to live a nice life. Like a dream....
1646  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bought my first BTC @ $4600, slightly worried on: October 10, 2017, 08:54:49 PM
Just HODL relax take a beer.

All who are here have been in your exact position. Some bought at $2 and thought they were crazy. Some bought at $1500 and thought it would never recover...

How to look at this investment
BTC is a lottery ticket with a >50% chance of winning.

In 5 years time you will either be cursing yourself why you bought some. Bigger chance you will be cursing yourself why you didn't buy more....
1647  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 10, 2017, 08:43:39 PM
About the referendum it is indeed ilegal, as anyone that knows spanish law and constitution do inmediately realize. It was the Judges and not the government who sent the police to seize the ballot boxes.
Illegal or not, you shouldn't beat your own people for: a) Peacefully protesting. b) Voting.

I do completely agree. AFAIK noone was beaten for that (trying to vote or peacefully protesting). Police had strict orders from Judge to seize ballot boxes, the only people that were beaten were actively hindering (not sure if that is the right english word) the police job. In fact, in most the places they were not able to comply orders because it would have mean a major confrontation and put people (and police units themselves) in higher danger. It was an extremely complex operative, probably the most complex this country has ever coped with.

I do also recognize this incident have had a very bad impact in international media. It would have been way better to have intervened way sooner and just arrest the promoters of the rebelion without exposing any law-abiding citizens to any innecesary risk.

What possible motivation could there be for removing someones freedom of expression by using law?
It is acceptable that a government may take a different view to a sub set of it's people, but it is not acceptable that a government denies those people from  expressing themselves in a peaceful way,

It is a common misunderstanding that freedom of expression is an unlimited freedom. It isn't. You can't publish clearly racist manifests, etc...

But this is not a matter of free speech. It is a matter of breaking the law.

Expressing anything (not ilegal) in a peaceful way is ok.

Who has said/or done anything against that?

Lol, the only thing they expressed in a peaceful way is their desire to separate from Spain. Which was promptly declared illegal and hence the following violence. Also, I do not think they expressed or published racist manifests... .

YOu are right, they didn't (mostly) it was just an example that even freedom of expression has limits but, as I said, this is not a matter of freedom of expression.

The "violence" you are referring to was the outcome of police following an order from the Judges to seize the ballot boxes of an illegal "referendum". No videos I have seen show the people peacefully cooperating with law enforment on their task, on the contrary you can clearly see people actively obstructing the judicial mandate.

Anyone has the right to express their desire to separate from Spain or anything else that is not clearly ilegal (as blatant racism as an example) but NOONE has the right to be above the law and obstruct law enforcement in a task that has been ordered by the Judges. I don't think that is allowed anywhere in the world.

That said... I would have put all this shitshow to an end way sooner going directly for the promoters of the rebellion.  It is sad and very unfortunate things let go up to this point.

So far there are no promotors of rebellion. Only promotors of independency. The Spanish government has made a terrible mistake by obstructing the referendum. They should have supported it and have promoted the no voters. Which now in a strange way, stayed home. Probably because they were afraid of potential violence induced by their government.

From what I see there are two things
 - people should be heard even if you disagree
 - the world should unite instead of break down
1648  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you check Bitcoin price everyday? on: October 10, 2017, 08:36:31 PM
I have periods that I check. Currently daily.
Anyway I have a target date and that gives me the possibility to detach.
It can become obsessive as hell...
1649  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Going Above 6k Soon!!!!! on: October 10, 2017, 08:33:30 PM
Trust me it is going above 6k soon!!!!!!!!!!!!

1650  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Back to 5000 Dollars ? on: October 10, 2017, 08:31:33 PM
Is it me of isn't it obvious why the price is increasing.

Let's say I buy 10 BTC and put it in a paper wallet
I wait for the hard fork.
I now have two wallets.
People invest in the new BTC aswell.
Then the new BTC is going to hit approx 10% of the BTC price.
Sell both wallets and you made 10%.

Or am I talking shit again ☺️
1651  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1 millon for a Bitcoin is this fiction or reality? on: October 10, 2017, 01:10:36 PM
Thee are 17 million millionaires and 2000 billionaires so given 100% adaptation by those people and $1M per BTC isn't ridiculously high.

But my gut feeling says it will take at least a decade to get there.
1652  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN DOWN OR HIGH ????? on: October 08, 2017, 09:11:03 PM
Bitcoin value will keep rising because demand is there and the media are now taking bitcoin serious and giving it more coverage as they thought it was a failed project which has proved them wrong. As more people look for ways to have total control of their money bitcoin has come up top which has allowed bitcoin to keep growing and should be a reason to buy now as you never know when it will rally to an atm

rally to an atm? automated-teller-machine?

Hope he meant ATH. Rally to the ATM sounds Zimbabwian. Cheesy
1653  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin just going to $100,000 now? on: October 08, 2017, 09:07:06 PM
OP is wrong. According to the law of linear pull-out-of-ass growth prognosis the following.

2011 the price was $3
2017 the price is $4600

approx. 1533x growth in 6 years
approx. 255x growth per year

Continuing in that fashion next year should be

Roughly (low-ball-estimate) $1M per BTC

Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Me can do TA Tongue

Let's get serious: Bitcoin will not double this year. Maybe at the end of next year we will go to $9K but 10K is going to be a major (get out of here) psychological point. It will take months to pass.
Then again I hope 100K next year Cheesy
1654  Economy / Speculation / Re: As BTC raises..ETH will fall! on: September 23, 2017, 09:54:54 PM
I'm only into Bitcoin but I might have an explanation.

In the olden shitcoin days you people first bought Bitcoins.
Then for fun they bought some shitcoins with their "spare" cash just to make some quicker money on the volatility of the shitcoin.
But when things went bad they all dumped their shitcoins into Bitcoins and if it was even worse then back to fiat.

So ETH might be dropping faster because people trust Bitcoin more than ETH.
This means that Bitcoin will receive inflow from ETH dumps. This makes ETH go down fast while Bitcoins decent gets cushioned by the people converting to Bitcoin (buying).
1655  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will Bitcoin be worth in 5 years? on: September 23, 2017, 09:44:50 PM
We will be like....  Cool

1656  Economy / Speculation / Re: September 30 , what do you think bitcoin price? on: September 23, 2017, 09:37:21 PM
Yay another one of these threads  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes.

General statement: Bitcoin has seen worse and will survive to see another ATH.

September 30 is only a few days out.
Expect to see the dull $3600 - $3900.

Why because I don't think anything freaky is going to happen this week.
1657  Economy / Speculation / Re: Nice ride but i'm dumping on: September 23, 2017, 09:34:17 PM
The Fajman follow your gut and stick to your own plan, everyone in here should have a plan.
If you want out that's your choice and I support your decision. I hope you had a good ride and made some good money on it.

Yes Bitcoin is going into a new phase where we are pushing the scalability boundaries.
Forks are not the most best feature and certainly doesn't help.
I still believe in Bitcoin but have an exit strategy as well but it's slightly more down the line Smiley

Good Luck!
1658  Economy / Speculation / Re: $1,800 or $7,000 Which comes first as we go forward? on: September 23, 2017, 09:26:29 PM
$7000 will come first but not this year IMO.

Rational:

Seeing the trend for the last few years, it's positive and will remain so.

To go down we would need to break past the $3000 (1w BBAND median).
It someone succesfully gets us below that then we will go to approx $1500 (1w BBAND lower line).
This is a very unlikely situation unless something radical happens.

I've left out the "Oops whale pressed the marketsell button flash crash / rebound back to normal" situation.

That said, Bitcoin is unpredictable... expect nothing.

1659  Economy / Speculation / Re: Charlie Lee: Chinese bitcoin FUD is whale manipulation on: September 22, 2017, 08:03:53 PM
Bitcoins Intention was to brake the banks dictatorship. As we can see, nothing changed with bitcoin. Instead of banks, now whales dominate everything, manipulate and steal.

Wrong. Bitcoin was all about putting fair rules for everyone, and the rules are fair and clean, open source, there are no lies within the protocol. You can never stop whales from forming and you can never stop them from telling lines. If you are stupid enough to fall for the FUD and sell and lose your BTC then that is your problem, not anyone's else or BTC's problem itself.

Just to add on to your post.

"Bitcoin has no ethical rules" it only has "Technical Rules".

Pump&Dump, market manipulation, stealing, scamming, crashing the market and going short on it.... all allowed in Bitcoin.
So Bitcoin is ethically as fair as Anarchy...
1660  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin vs Mortgage on: September 22, 2017, 07:58:39 PM
If it was much more of your stack, like 60% or above then I would hesitate to do so. But if it's only 20% of your stash then why not? What have you got to lose? If BTC goes to moon you still have a load left, yet if it doesn't/or takes longer than expected, then at least your mortgage is paid off.

Remember getting your mortgage paid off is a distant dream for many, it's a nice goal and if 20% of my stack would do it, I would do it in an instant.

Very wise words....

I'm selling if I can buy a house for half my stack Cheesy
