Hey I heard Bakkt sucks  Grin

It's always funny how people expect so much from things  like
- Bakkt
- Christmas
- Tax at Dec.
- ICOS
Etc. Etc. Etc.

If I've learned one thing it is "Bitcoin don't give a fuck"

Mexicans praying they don't die while mining silver in a mine.  When's the last time you saw anyone praying they don't die before attempting to try and mine Bitcoin?  And yet there are retards on this forum who claim "space mining" at 1000x higher cost and danger is somehow going to make metals not function as money and make Bitcoin better.  If the Mexicans are already praying they don't die at work on earth, the space mining workforce would need to be composed completely of Muslim suicide bombers.

Mining bitcoin can be deadly  Wink

Last bit my of summer for Fillippone.

786  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this right time to invest in Bit Coins on: September 20, 2019, 08:42:23 PM
My brotip:

If you choose to invest this is still a good time.

After the halving choose one of the following

- Path of the HODL. If you want to be in BTC for at least 5 years and want good returns. If so do nothing and sit back and enjoy the rollercoaster. Store BTC in cold wallet. You should remain in profit through the next bear cycle even if it drops from $70k back to $20k or so... you know you want that $1M so take it like a boss...

- Path of the BULL. If you want to maximize this wave you must leave when BTC goes vertical. This means when BTC grows like crazy and you at least doubled your money. BTC is going up $1000 a day and everyone wants in (that’s your cue). So get out before the big dump or after. Otherwise you are in the “path of the HODL” and will have to wait a few years or grab your losses. If you get out and want to buy in low again then wait, wait, wait until you get to the months of sideways like now and buy back in.

Then there are more advanced ways like using TA...

789  Economy / Speculation / Re: What year will Bitcoin reach $250,000? on: September 19, 2019, 06:41:42 PM
Maybe it will hit the price of $250,000 or more in next couple of years. And, I can't say any exact years cause it is so unpredictable and the value of bitcoin are still too far in the price of $250,000. But, for now keep on earning bitcoin and let see if bitcoin will truly hit that price.

That's the mindset however I do believe that bitcoin is kinda predictable due to the halvings.

No Know Your Customer checks

No ID or other documents will be required to convert euros into Bitcoin acquired with the coupon. All a user needs is an email address and a Bitcoin wallet address. Raimundas Asauskas, the owner of Rebiton, the service processing the coupons, suggested this is of no regulatory concern:

“While we have greatly simplified the process of acquiring Bitcoin, we strictly comply with money laundering, fraud prevention and other legal requirements regarding our operations. We also make sure there are no abuses. We perform evaluation and validation of email and IP addresses using solutions from partners providing similar services to brands such as Disney, IBM, American Airlines or Santander."

794  Economy / Speculation / Re: What year will Bitcoin reach $250,000? on: September 17, 2019, 05:51:50 PM
I'm with Tim Draper on this one. He said $250,000 per BTC will happen in 2022. He was hedging his bets weeks ago by saying it could be around December 2022. And now just recently he said he believes $250,000 is actually a conservative estimate.
Tim draper also predicted in 2014, that Bitcoin would hit $10,000 in 2017, as we know now, he was correct.

Hopefully he is correct again.
This time he may not be correct, just because he was right once doesn't mean he will be right at all his guess.

2022 is just too soon man, $250k is really high number and people are not realizing that a 10% increase in $10k to $11k is not same as $200k going to $220k, we are talking about billions of dollars of money going straight from someones bank account to some exchanges to purchase bitcoin, that is not gonna happen that easily, surely when we become more global and all rich all around the world start to buy bitcoin like crazy we may end up seeing something like that but do you really think that in 3 years there will be billionaires all around to world trying to get more bitcoins? Or MILLIONS of people putting up hundreds of dollars everyday?

I doubt that is gonna happen in 3 years, it will probably take longer.

Marketcap calculations again  Roll Eyes

$250k is not big and the price can go up out of scarsity alone (which is built in to bitcoin). If everyone hodls you will need to pay high enough for someone to say "OK here you go". That could make bitcoin theoretically go up to $1M without any transactions or money put in.

Then you have the greed of the masses and they will put in shitloads of money (and get burnt).

796  Economy / Economics / Re: Paper Money - The Greatest Scam on: September 17, 2019, 10:39:58 AM
I've read theories like this before. it is true that the government can print as much money as and can cause paper money to become worthless.
but I believe there is a good reason in that matter, the government must have calculated the economic impact if it prints a large amount of money, otherwise the country will be affected by the economic crisis.

That's why they print during holidays  Wink
And printing money devaluates making debt less expensive.

Tip: it’s not about winning or losing. It’s about winning more than losing  Wink
Statistics bitch!  Grin

you don't even need to win more than you lose. you could trade with a 1:3 risk/reward ratio and lose 60% of the time and still be profitable. in a sense, that goes to the core of why most traders lose money---they cut their winners early and let their losers run, because emotions. the exact opposite of what they should do.

Exactly.

Quick update on my bank situation. They booted me.

No real reason given. They demanded insight into my bitcoin transactions, I told them they get nothing bitcoin related, done.

This happened a mere few days before I'm going on a global tour, starting with asia, then eastern europe and finally south america. No big. I can buy plane tickets directly with btc, my only bills are my cellie which my family can handle from their accounts, there is the occasional btc atm around the world... it will be interesting to see how well it works to be bankless.

Presumably they will write you a cheque totalling your account balances so you can cash it when you get a new bank?

Asking for future reference.
For the moment I have simply moved my money to a family account. I don't intend to actually use that account for anything more than simply storing my money, but it is there as an extra emergency backup if needed. This is ideally a temporary measure. I have not looked for a new bank and do not intend to.

Are you planning on going fully bitcoin (aka crypto-stealth-mode)?
Forget the stealth bit, my shit is fully legal and as such there is nothing to hide. I simply do not like meddling middlemen who overstep their actual authority. But, yes, so far as possible purely bitcoin.

On a side note, the leadership in my now former bank has changed recently. The new heads do not have more than a year of experience in the banking world. It might just be a good thing that I got out now, rather than years down the road.

Of course your shit is legal. What I meant with stealth is that you are not giving any bank any means of tracking you and what you buy. (And possibly the government).
800  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are you guys ok if BTC ends in the 10k USD range at the end of 2019? on: September 16, 2019, 09:46:09 PM
I am not okay with. As 2020 has been pumped up so much that I am afraid it may not be living up to the hype at the same time and I will be disappointing with it. Even if we reach to 15k or so people will want the all time high and work for it and if it doesn't come than they will start selling once again and we will fall again.

So, hyping up a whole year is a very dangerous situation, you can turn out to be right or you can turn out to be wrong, if you are right everything is great, if you are wrong than you will be let down and when that let down happens to thousands of people (even tens of thousands) it has a collective affect on the price. Yes the halving will happen, yes we are looking bullish, but none of that means it will go x2 or more in a year, it only means there is an upside to the price.

I don't think people will start to sell BTC if doen't hit ATH this year
The next big event is the halving next year, and I agree with you but only next year

Most people here in thread are saying they are ok with this price for this year

Anybody who has invested in bitcoin a while ago should be running profits.
These profits at $10k should be great. But could be greater  Wink
