Used my card voucher today and everything worked fine. Just had to pretend my name was Carl Jeffries. +1 Thanks!

1643  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Raspberry pi usb device limitation? on: October 16, 2012, 05:05:47 AM
I have a raspberry pi , and have a card for both xbmc and debian. The device is awesome, especially for xbmc.

I would not trust it to mine with 6 ghash of equipment, it is not stable enough for that.  They are prone to overheat and turn off, also there is a lan bug in my rev 2. Drops randomly

I also have a 512 coming from element 14

That's disappointing, I was hoping to use it for my BFL equipment when I shut off my dual 7970 machine for good.

You can always increase the power to the usb ports with this mod:
http://theiopage.blogspot.com.au/2012/06/increasing-raspberry-pis-usb-host.html

not sure about a device limit, but it could be related. - could you link me to an article please?

Also note that the Ethernet is ethernet to USB to the SOC.

Don't remember where I read it, no official article, just hearsay. I have a powered 10 port usb hub so if it's a power issue I should be in good shape.
1647  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Raspberry pi usb device limitation? on: October 15, 2012, 10:45:13 PM
So my raspberry pi is coming in soon and I'm wondering if I'll have any issues mining with 9 bfl singles. I read somewhere that there was a 7 device limit people were running into. Is that true? If so, is it a memory limitation? Apparently all existing and future orders have been bumped from 256mb to 512mb.

Both in great condition. $275 each, $550 for the pair. Free shipping in continental US. IOS 5.1.1. I can load IOS6 but but it is a tethered jailbreak. I'll throw in an otter box with the first sale.

My support exchange with GLBSE

-----------------------------

Nothing big, we already know the real life identity of the person
responsible, so it's really in their best interest to return.

The address to pay to is:

Once again, thanks.

Haha, major cockup is a good way to put it. I hope you didn't lose any money from those less honest. I'll send it back tomorrow when you get me an address.

Hey Blane,
thanks for getting onto us.

This was a major cockup on our end, that actually was meant to be play
money for the test site but it was left in when we went live.

I'll send you a bitcoin address for you to send the 20BTC to in a little
while.

GLBSE support.

Did I just win a 1000 BTC prize?? I decided to check out glbse for the
first time tonight and upon creation of my account I noticed my account
had a balance of 1000. Since this was my first time on the site and I'm
unfamiliar with glbse, I figured it was some play money. I purchased a
few shares of BITBOND and tried a 20btc withdrawl to confirm my
suspicions. Now that I see the transaction coming in I'm afraid there
may be a huge issue with your site, or I'm an extremely lucky
individual. I'm assuming you can't afford to give every new user 1000
btc so you may want to rectify the issue as quickly as possible!
1654  Economy / Service Discussion / My first experience with GLBSE was alarming... on: October 14, 2012, 04:37:35 AM
I joined GLBSE back in May with the intent to make some small fruitful investments with my spare bitcoins. I had about 50 coins dedicated to the venture (~$600 at the time), so nothing big. Imagine my surprise when my GLBSE account was credited with 1000 BTC at account creation! At first, I figured it was play money so I bought a few shares of bitbond and started looking into how to get rid of the play money and get some real coins in.

After finding no information indicating the coins were fake, I made a 20 coin test withdrawal. A few minutes later they popped up in my wallet! I quickly sent nefario a support email and PM to prevent less honest individuals from bleeding him out of business. I returned the coins, GLBSE went down for half an hour and when it came back up, the coins and bonds where gone. Needless to say, my first experience with GLBSE did not instill confidence in the service and it was one of the determining factors for me pulling my investments out a month later.

I don't know how much GLBSE lost that day but I wouldn't be surprised if bad coding resulting in heavy losses was one of the reasons nefario wasn't making much money from the business.

1657  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [CLOSED] 4x5970 $1150 shipped on: October 01, 2012, 05:39:42 AM
Actually it may be 4 16x to 16x, I haven't looked at the insides in a while. I had a 6970 running in the rig on a 1x at one point, I know that for sure. I'm not sure it matters though, 1x can handle 250mb/s and that's more than enough for mining.

i looked at the MOBO you listed and only saw 3x pcie 16x slots,

It's a UD3 so 2 actually, the other 2 are 4x which is the same length as a 16x slot it just doesn't use as many pins.

At one point I had 3 6970s and 2 6950s, that's when I was forced to use one of the 1x slots

This would take approximately 4 months to pay off at current BTC rate
Yeh, it's paid itself off a couple times for me. I really want to play around with litecoin mining but I can't seem to get all 4 running under xubuntu 12.04 with cgminer and bfgminer.

I had the same issue on my 4 card rigs. Finally bit the bullet and put win7 on a partition and there they work. You're linux isn't right dude =P

I got it working actually, I had installed the 32bit version which doesn't support 8 GPUs. Went to 64 bit Xubuntu and everything is good to go.

Probably just going to sell the 5970s alone.
