with that said. when a pattern is too well known. many people anticipate and plan to beat the pattern, thus breaking the pattern On second thought: doesn't the anticipation speed up the pattern? If enough people start buying Bitcoin because they expect it to go up, it will go up. But then they'll expect it to drop eventually, so they'll start selling. They don't want to be too late, so they'll sell earlier and earlier each bull run until eventually the increased scarcity from the halving is completely included in the price before the halving even happens.

Could you whitelist the following account? User: NeoBytes I ignored your PM because that's not how this topic works. But even if you post here, clearly you didn't read the OP: 2. Get someone to vouch for you If an established member knows you personally, they can post your username in this topic for whitelisting. Don't PM me, keep it public. I won't accept vouches from for instance a bounty hunter with 1000 Activity and 0 earned Merit. You have 2 Activity and 0 Merit. You can't vouch for anyone.

Two hundred and fifty-third week paid. Thanks again for your flawless timing! My delay is because of the kids, they're both ill and needed attention. Lots of virusses going around schools lately.

That doesn't mean anything. If the site owner wants, he can store all passwords and the users won't know about it.

Fortunately, he does not have enough time to be involved in those dramas. OP got banned, his "arguments" were based on his own lack of knowledge, so there's really nothing left to post here. I'd say stop bumping this topic. If anyone has anything to say about me later, please do it in LoyceV's reputation thread ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

with that said. when a pattern is too well known. many people anticipate and plan to beat the pattern, thus breaking the pattern I was already surprised the previous ATH was "round" instead of a very steep increase followed by a hard collapse. As much as I expect a new ATH after the halving, there comes a day it won't happen.

AI posters only receive neutral tags. Signature spammers only receive neutral tags. Neutral tags aren't the problem, the problem is they should get banned.

Shitcointalks.com? I don’t have an account there and probably never will. So you're saying I can get a high-ranking shitcointalk account and sell it? ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) People also can’t make money from sharing nudes here Sure they can, but who's going to pay a bunch of ugly guys for nudes? Here is another deal btt failed to take advantage of. All those pretty girls do their thing on onlyfans instead of btt… That is a pity indeed ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif)

and you would have the possibility to get paid 0.015 Bitcoins a week in another forum just for the avatar Let's be realistic: that's not going to happen. And even for much smaller amounts: if it would be possible for any random forum on the planet to get more users by having them advertise on their own, thousands of forums would have done it by now.

What do I do? I can think of many different things, but none of them includes installing untrusted (hacked) software on your main system. You could for instance: - use an open source video converter
- use a VM
- use another system
- forget about converting videos
- use an online video converter
I am not happy with what I do, but when you live in a country like Syria where everything is banned, you have no choice but this one. That's a weird excuse to install compromised software. I only use open source software and nobody can ban that as long as I have an internet connection.

Your way of telling how I was a trust abuser for constantly red marking people like Kakatua or others for making bunch of fake tokens, projects, accounts, bounties on here, had a great influence of the things gone down over the years. That's a weird way of putting it. I don't want to read everything again, but here you admitted spraying around red tags was probably a mistake. You made the mistake, not me. I am anon yeah but to some of the people that I caught with so many alts cheating in campaigns on here are from Bangladesh, that somehow got to know my real address and just recently I was targeted by a minivan, got half of my one fingers amputated then reattached the digit but not successfully and also broke my right sided bones. So yeah it's too much. Kind of like scopophobia! And all that because of negative feedback on Bitcointalk? That seems far-fetched.

Can anyone please try to use the website and tell me if you both see that the maximum amount of XMR allowed is 0? Currently, there's a much higher limit. See under "Reserves": when they're out, they'll need someone to exchange the opposite direction first.

- Hero of Good: You. I know I'm painting outside of the box here, but let's throw in a cliche: "be the change you want to see"!
- Golden Feather: o_e_l_e_o stands out with his contributions and knowledge on Bitcoin.
- Bitcointalk Ninja: PowerGlove has contributed a lot to the forum by creating long-overdue patches. And that's even without implementing all his patches.
- Bitcoin Geek: gmaxwell He doesn't post that much, but when he does, it's spot-on.
- Event of the Year: Farewell, by o_e_l_e_o. I know I'm "cheating", because this happened after 2023, but it has a bigger impact on the forum than anything that happened in 2023. Most of the time things I read online don't get to me, this did. You will be missed.
- Fail of the Year: Ratimov's unnecessary drama in which he completely destroyed the reputation and posts he worked so hard for. It looks like his ego couldn't handle a small dent, and he went to extremes.
- Discovery of the Year:
- Best SpamBuster: nutildah, for his fight against AI spam bots. The unlimited amount of spam can destroy online communities for humans.
- Best ScamBuster: I'm not following the scam-accusations much.
- Craft Master: icopress (OP!). Despite being in a war-torn country, you manage to run several signature campaigns, take care of campaign members when a campaign closes by moving them into another campaign, and still manage to run the Bitcointalk Community Awards.
- AntiHero:
- Miss Bitcointalk: Foxpup. Who else
![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) I may or may not add more details later. I kept postponing this because I'm still feeling ill, but the deadline is closing in.

Since ~ you put me in your ignore list You're not on my Ignore list. those threats on telegram became constant. How does my Ignore list have anything to do with whatever happens on scammers' paradise Telegram? I could hardly tolerate those. You're anonymous online, right? Who cares what someone tells you, just (lol) Ignore them. I still don't get why you'd stop using Bitcointalk because of threats on Telegram. It sounds like you should stop using Telegram.

I guess that my problem started after downloading a crack for a video format converter program. People still do that? ![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif) I barely dare install official wallet software on my main systems. Why don't you run those cracks in an isolated environment instead of giving them access to your passwords?

Bisq has been around since December 2014, with over 200 contributors and also connects through Tor by default. However, I confess that it feels a bit more complicated than an instant exchange running in the browser. The main problem I have with decentralized software like Bisq, is that it's software. I prefer to install as few programs as necessary, and don't want to go through the hassle of using a VM all the time.

That was exactly what I thought. Let's find out ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) I've started a new Bitcoin Core sync, pruned to 200 GB. I'll let it run until let's say 2010. Then I'll turn off pruning. Update: after disabling pruning and restarting Bitcoin Core, it continued the sync where it was. So disabling pruning should work, as long as you still have all blocks. Maybe you can check if you have blk00000.dat in your blocks directory.
|
|
|
So the issue seems to be infostealer malware targeting Bitcointalk users. How do they get infected? If it's targeted attacks, they must know how to get the user to install the malware.
|
|
|
I wanted to change it but just saw the message that deactivating pruning I will have to download the whole blockchain again. That is the case if the blockchain actually was pruned. Assuming you still have all the blocks, that shouldn't be necessary. I've never tested disabling pruning before it's pruning though.
|
|
|
Each node would also see a different set of valid blocks. Good point. Mostly ignoring the block time was a very good idea ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)
