I think slowly but surely Gridcoin is starting to grow.

This really seems like a unique coin, hope it gets the attention it deserves.

Wow that is a nice looking chart. Smiley

Hahahaha, Is that a real dog or just a toy?

You better hurry up before someone takes your idea. LOL

seems like these days it's a bunch of cloned scam coins that are getting on the exchanges, the ones adding real value has a hard time.

maybe i need to go clone doge and make cutepuppycoin that has built in facebook sharing button for pictures of cutepuppies that hide in the blockchain?

I tested the exchange and everything seems to work very well. The user interface is very simple and is not cluttered. Volume is still very small as it is a new exchange, but so far it is looking very promising. The real test will be under heavy user load. It has a cool option in the tools menu that can send you an alert via email/sms when the price of a certain pair reaches a certain level.

Hey Gridcoin, check your pm.

Looks like you were on a fork. So you didn't loose anything, you were just mining on your own chain.

What's going on with the sync? I lost 20k and about 7k immature transactions!!! Is there any way to recover my coins? What about block explorer? How can I check my blocks?

I vote Gridcoin: http://www.gridcoin.us only coins donating to science using Boinc.

When the sleep is activated the Gpu will do Boinc work. So that way more is given to science projects.

i am trying to be an early adopter.  i have a few questions. first of all, i am mining 2 gpus solo with a 12 thread processor.  my average daily credits is 2700 and i have 11 threads devoted to boinc.  my boinc processing power won't go above 65 points.  this has been 100 fairly consistently until i decided to take a few days off with my rig.  i have not had syncing issues so long as i kept up with all the updates and addnodes.  my questions are these:

1. what can cause this to stay at only 65?

2. can someone please explain the scrypt sleep?  does this mean when my sleep is on that my hashing is doing nothing?

3. does closing the mining console have to hide command prompts? i have other things running in command prompt sometimes and these get hidden as well.  it would be helpful if the mining console only hid process that it started.

thanks, and good work so far.

Scrypt sleep allows our network as a whole to be more efficient.  Sleep causes your GPUs to sleep when your leaderboard sleep level is below the network sleep level.

Team, answer the rest.

Thanks.  I get the idea that it will prevent orphans, but what I don't understand is that when my GPUS are in "Sleep" is that it continues to hash and continues to draw a lot of energy.  Is this true?  I thought the point of Gridcoin was to not be a drain on environment and give miners a reason to hash.  Could it shutdown the miners completely and not draw any power, or this getting a little too complex?   Or am i still missing the point.

Please add Gridcoin: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=324118.0
The first coin using Boinc to donate computing resources to science.

Reinstall wallet and delete the blocks and sql folders in appdata, then resync from start. I had same issue, that is a way to fix it.

my wallet doesn't sync anymore!!!

gridcoin-qt client says (i try to traslate from italy): the transaction showed might be wrong. You may need to update or or node need to be upgrade

But i have the lastest version (7.77) and this is my .conf

I think what fxmulder is saying is that the client does not compile, if I am understanding him correctly?

grid says the linux client works find but you just can't mine with linux is. (You will be able to within a week)

Ok delete the blocks chain and sql folder in appdata and synch from the start.

Just the install folder.

I did everything you said, unfortunately it didn't work for me.  Sad
Still cannot synchronize and getting the same message.
1655  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Gridcoin (GRC) - first coin utilizing BOINC - Official Thread on: January 21, 2014, 04:03:34 PM
Just the install folder.

You have to delete everything in Gridcoin install dir and reinstall Gridcoin from MSI, sometimes the upgrade command doesn't fully upgrade.

Thanks for helping. I suppose I have to delete both the "Gridcoin" folder in Program files and "Gridcoin" from AppData/Roaming?

Has anybody got the "Safe mode..." problem? I'm stuck at synchronization stage (0 hours remaining), and also it says:
Quote
Warning: Displayed transactions may not be correct! You may need to upgrade, or other nodes may need to upgrade. (code -2)

Don't know what to do, I already tried deleting blocks, chainstate folders and peers.dat file. Nothing changed.

Help?

Zulzedd,  I don't know what is happening on your end. Can you try mining with Guiminer scrypt. I use that on several of my rigs and I have no problems.
Also what is your gridcoin.conf look like?

Got Accepted. Still no payments. Switching to solo mining again.

Your wallet file must be corrupt or something is wrong on your end, I have sent very large amount of GRC to other people and I have never had problems.

Is there a reason why transactions over a certain number of coins seem to get lost without confirmations?
I haven't really had any luck with transactions larger than 200 coins. Anything bigger I need to restore my wallet from backup and rescan.

I imagine this isn't limited to gridcoin, being part of a common wallet.
1660  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Skrypt]Post pictures of your mining rigs on: January 19, 2014, 07:03:06 PM
Here is mine. 2 rigs each running 4x5870. In the video it show 3 each, but I have added 1 more on each rig. Total about 3.2 Mh/s for both rigs. Each 5870 is doing about 400 kh/s.
