1681  Economy / Economics / Re: LMAO: India resells Russian oil to the European Union. on: June 15, 2022, 10:53:22 AM
Countries are corrupt as hell. When EU voted for sanctions against Russia, France continued to buy from Russia and sell them military equipment.
There's a list of countries that finance Russian attack on Ukraine by trading with them and the founding members of the EU are at its top.

It's like the world is preying on this war fueling both sides. Ukraine gets weapons and Russia gets money and they both keep getting weaker while the vultures wait to pick their bones when it all ends.
1682  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "It's Better to Sell Bitcoin Now and Rebuy Lower" Twitted by Peter Schiff on: June 15, 2022, 10:28:59 AM
Peter was always against bitcoin and this would be very unusual for him to tell you to buy it at any date and price. Don't expect any honest advice from him and this is a perfect example when he comes at -70% from the top and tells you to sell hoping that if enough people listen to him the price will go even lower and he'll be able to start his rant how worthless bitcoin is and how you'd do better buying gold. Gold that he can sell you at a premium.

"Hard to imagine BTC not testing the lower line"

It did not test the upper line this cycle, that's why people were waiting for 100k and it didn't happen.
I stand by my prediction that this cycle wasn't overbought like 2013 and 2017 and it's not going to correct 85% like those cycles. Unfortunately there was a lot of FUD and manipulation this time from the side of stable coins that dragged us down below the strong support of 23k and it caused a widespread panic among people who bought their first coins in 2021.

Remember that the lower we go in price the more we dip into the long term holder territory and you can see in Peter's prediction that he acknowledges that. He knows that every cycle there's more holders who take coins out of exchanges and that is why the lows for bitcoin are always higher and will continue to go higher. He sees the low at 10k, but just in 2020 it was at 3k, so even a permabear like Peter thinks the number of holders is three times what it was 2 years ago.
1683  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's happening With Bitcoin? on: June 15, 2022, 10:07:49 AM
I also did not expect 20k to happen without a bounce back. This is a good example of why we shouldn't look for similarities in the cycles. In 2018 we had plenty of bounces in the bear market.
It's actually very strange that they are able to crash the price so much after such a week bull run. Every time I see this and I've seen it at least once each year, it amazes me that when price falls by 60% or 70% there are still people willing to sell at a loss.
1684  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Tulip Mania 2.0 on: June 15, 2022, 08:13:55 AM
I remember various traders tried to make us think we'd go to 1000 when we were at 3000 in 2019, but it didn't work out for them. Now we are in another cycle so 3000 is gone forever.
I know it's nice to dream about buying at less than 5% of ATH but the market will not let you. People know how much potential there is in Bitcoin and the lower we get the more buyers there will be. Leveraged market reaches maybe down to 20k. Everything below is holders so you'd have to persuade people who held for over 12 months to sell at a loss. Wishful thinking.
1685  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is crypto winter setting in.. and how long will it last on: June 15, 2022, 07:36:41 AM
At times like this you have to ask yourselves if this is the same bitcoin people were paying 60k for, or not. What is the reason that it went down in price. Is this Bitcoin's flaw? If it is, you should worry. Like when you hold stocks of a car company and the company stops making cars because one of its factories went up in flames or there's a war in the country where it produces, it's time to sell.
In case of Bitcoin there's nothing wrong with it. Its price went down due to Luna dump that caused panic and because of high inflation in the USA that causes stocks to lose value and stock investors are selling everything they hold including cryptocurrencies. It doesn't mean cryptocurrencies are bad, it's just investors going bust and selling at at a loss to cover debt.

I keep holding and I'm going to continue, regardless of the price. If it goes to 10k, I'll still have the same number of coins that I had at 30k. None of these prices satisfy me enough to sell.
1686  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't sell your precious BTC to the whales! on: June 13, 2022, 10:54:50 PM
This may be the ideal one to think. But sometimes, we don't know what will happen to us. not everyone is a holder or long-term investor. SO, we cannot be sure enough that we will not sell our BTC. Sometimes, we need money to cash out also r take profits. But yes,  1BTC=1BTC

It doesn't mean you cannot be. We've all started somewhere!

If you need money to cash out, it means you've invested too much. This is a problem of many people who get too greedy. They have 10k in the bank, they invest it all and the price goes down and they get stuck in this greed not wanting to take a loss and at the same time begging family and friends for some money to pay the bills.

I'm heavily invested, probably 90% of all my money is in bitcoin, but that 10% that I have lying around is enough to survive another 2 years if I need to. I won't be able to buy myself nice things, but I won't be going into debt either.
1687  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What exactly do we call this feeling of ‘to hold to zero’ or ‘sell at loss’? on: June 13, 2022, 10:15:24 PM
Look at it like this OP.
You bought Bitcoin. It doesn't matter what you paid for it, it could've been 30k or 60k, but you wanted it and you got it. It's yours and it still has the same utility that it had back then. You felt fine because other people were also buying at that price so you felt a part of the crowd, like if they're doing it everything must be OK. Then some of them started selling at a loss, but you didn't and now you feel like you're doing something wrong because more people are selling than buying. Think about it for a while, you don't have to follow other people all the time, you have your own brain.

I held Bitcoin when it was worth $500 and $5k and then $20k and then $10k and back to $3k, back to $10k and to $3k again... It's still the same bitcoin and it's not going away.
1688  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC on other chains is not BTC on: June 13, 2022, 10:03:31 PM
It doesn't work like this. Not your keys, still your assets.

How are you going to claim them if you don't own the keys and the exchange disappears, like quadriga, btc-e and many others?
As long as you don't own the keys you are only a passenger in this car driven by someone else. You can tell them directions but they can always ignore it and run you into a wall. Wink

I couldn't care less about WBTC. Never used any of these coins in my life and that includes all stable coins. Bitcoin was doing well without ponzi schemes like Luna and is going to do well without them.
1689  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for June on: June 13, 2022, 07:01:28 PM
I didn't believe the drop below 25k would happen this month and it literally happened overnight. I guess now I will believe those analysts who said it would drop to 20k or even lower. Right now bitcoin is below 24k and it looks terrible. There will definitely be no crypto market recovery in June.
Just let the market drop, you don't go against the flow as you will only lose. Let it dump and just enjoy while some people panicked, if you find the right timing to buy, you will be able to earn a decent profit in the short term as eventually, this dump will not last forever, the market will have a quick bounce back before it will result in its bearish movement if the market will not recover fully.

As a matter of fact the most successful people go against the flow.

An example of going with the flow would be selling in March 2020, smart people went against the flow and bought there.
Another example of going against the flow is dollar cost averaging no matter what.

There's a reason why these people make money and the rest doesn't. People who don't know what to do look at others creating a chain of events and the majority never makes any money. 90% of investors lose and to be in that 10% you cannot go with the flow. Choosing to invest in bitcoin is already swimming against the current because the majority still thinks it's a scam or a ponzi scheme.
1690  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC on other chains is not BTC on: June 13, 2022, 04:20:14 PM
According to various tweets the withdrawals have resumed, but if I had money on binance that would be mu wake up call.

I always tell people that if they hold coins on centralized exchanges they should consider them lost. There's some fun in trading, but the risk is very high. You can get hacked or the exchange will block you and demand kyc all of a sudden. I had money stolen by bittrex when they suddenly told me that they won't allow me to withdraw unless I send them scans of my ID, but the coins were deposited at the time when they allowed to trade anonymously.
Anyway people, not your keys means not your coins.
1691  Economy / Economics / Re: Global bitcoin adoption to hit 10% by 2030: Blockware report on: June 10, 2022, 11:25:30 PM
I like what Michael Saylor said and it's pretty much on par with what blockware is trying to show here. Bitcoin is either getting banned everywhere and disappears or it's going to a million USD per coin and we can see that it's not going to get banned because countries are working on regulating it and allowing bitcoin companies to register and work without problems. Some countries are attacking it, like China did, but China attacks everything that has to do with freedom and independence, so there's that.
1692  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rakeback and promotions for limited time on: June 10, 2022, 11:08:06 PM
I never care about this too much and my choice of games doesn't depend on rakeback. If it's there, it's fine, if not, I can live without it. This is one of those features that casinos like to add so that it's there when they get compared on those sites that do reviews and such. You don't want to have less features than your competition, right? I'll risk saying that it doesn't influence the number of players in any way. Maybe if you're a very frequent gambler it really changes how many times you can play and gives you money to have a free roll here and there, but you have to lose a lot of money for that free roll.
1693  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will countries ban Bitcoin mining due to environmental concerns? on: June 10, 2022, 10:49:19 PM
Countries will not ban bitcoin mining because every country is different and what one sees as danger, another sees as opportunity.
People who use this argument that bitcoin is bad for the environment are a bit like the EU parliament that voted on new anti car laws to reduce fuel consumption and such. They want to stop production of cars no matter how much co2 they produce. They want to make you buy electric cars and that's all there is to it. They don't care how much their private jets and supply trucks pollute the air. Those aren't going away, but your little car is.
1694  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC goes below 30k after US inflation rate reports on: June 10, 2022, 10:35:41 PM
The reason for the current dump in the price of the Bitcoin market can be caused by many reasons which are the market's current momentum are still bearish, and for some weeks now the BTC market has always gone dips during the weekend. Therefore, the report of the US inflation rate hitting a 40year high is not the reason behind the downtrend of the Bitcoin market and if history repeats itself in the BTC market I believe we haven't seen the bottom price.

What dump? The price is staying in the same channel.

May 15 28500
May 18 28600
May 20 28400
May24 28500
May 26 27900
Jun 1 29290
Jun 7 28900

These were all "dumps" and as you can see they are happening every few days.

I don't see any connection with inflation. High inflation should actually pump bitcoin because your fiat money is losing value so it's much better to buy something while you can.
1695  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your Mantra After, while playing And Before You Gamble on: June 09, 2022, 10:05:11 PM
I don't know why I've never done anything like that because what I know is that when we play gambling, only luck and courage can make us win a gamble, so all of that is each person's suggestion when they are gambling.

Same here. Never had the need to prepare before the game or give thanks after. I 'm not a superstitious person and I'm not religious so maybe it has something to do with the way I approach the world.
If people feel better doing certain things like blowing on the dice, praying, telling themselves that it's their lucky day or that they own the right to win it's all good, I hope it works out for them.
1696  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: taking out a loan for a sports bet on: June 09, 2022, 09:46:32 PM
When you have an account in a bank with some steady inflows, like from a job, banks will allow you to take a fast loan. The amount depends on many things like the bank itself, the amount of money going through your account, the age of the account, current loans that you have, and so on. In my case I had about 1.2k EUR of steady inflows in one of my accounts and could take a 5k EUR loan just like that from my bank API so a small loan is usually not a problem. There are companies that grant small loans with no collateral within minutes. You just need an ID.

That said, I wouldn't recommend going into debt to gamble.
1697  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you feel when the market is downtrend? on: June 09, 2022, 09:21:35 PM
Majority don't like the bear market, the fact is that that the season where many millionaires are made. The sad one is how easy many people lose interest during these times. Along the line I got more interested in bear because it teaches patience and consistency. Anyone who can learn this will definitely make enough profits when reversal happen. If you stay close you will know when the bear is ending and reversing which you can easily take advantage of.

We tend to stay away from things that get us in a bad mood. Like when you know people who are always negative about everything and never encourages you, you'll avoid them.
That's why people get out when the bear market is in its lowest point because that's where it weighs heavy on them and they can't stand it anymore. It's a good indicator of the bottom if you can ignore all the negativity and focus on the fundamentals. It's the same bitcoin people were paying over 60k for. The only thing that changed is people's attitude, not bitcoin itself.
1698  Economy / Services / Re: Need someone in Canada on: June 08, 2022, 10:52:31 PM
send this device to my friends in EU country

Why don't you send them the money and they can buy an NV scope in the EU? It took me like 10s to find a used gen 3 NV (PVS-18) for sale at a local online marketplace.
Why go for all that trouble trying to buy it yourself and export it when you can get a cheaper used one and make it get to whoever needs it faster, safer and for a comparable price to a new one from Canada + shipping? It's an expensive piece. Would be a shame if it got returned by customs.
1699  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can You See Or Tell If A Fight Or Event Is Fix ? on: June 08, 2022, 10:28:05 PM

It's easy to fix it when there are two or fewer people involved like in boxing, but if you are not watching boxing very often you can hardly see if they are fixing the match, I can easily guess fixing in boxing when there is choreography in their moves and both fighters have no intention to hurt their opponents if both boxers are not coming on strong on their opponents them something is a miss, and a boxing expert can easily sense that.

You have to be really stupid to fix like that meaning that you set it up before and you both try not to hurt each other. Real fixing works only when only 1 guy knows and he does everything like normal just when he gets a strong hit that would normally end in a stumble or a knockdown, he takes his time and acts like he's out. This is much harder to prove. Also, this almost never happens in higher leagues but the lower you get the dirtier the sports are.

Can you tell? Usually you have that gut feeling that something wasn't right with that fight or game but you also can't prove it. They will say that they had a worse day or got an injury and had to give up.
1700  Economy / Speculation / Re: Holding my horses for now on: June 08, 2022, 10:15:32 PM
How do you guys know if this is a good level to buy or not? The answer is you don't so it's better to be involved, even if it's not the bottom yet, then not be involved at all and miss the opportunity.

Also, nobody knows where the price is going to be, especially people who give their predictions in the media.
I'll just give you guys a few predictions from early 2018 and you can decide if these guys are some financial gurus or full of shit taking numbers out of thin air.
Tim draper $250k by 2022
Ronnie Moas $28k peak in 2018
Fran Strajnar $200k in 2019
Tom Lee $91k by March 2020
Michael Novogratz $50k in 2018
Spencer Bogart $50k in 2018
