is it still worth to mine monero?
Yes, CPU has good hashes. It depends on CPU, you need at least AES support.
1682  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What are the best replacement for RX 480 / 470s for Ether Mining? on: June 04, 2017, 09:09:38 AM
570/580
That Troll Cheesy

You need to wait about 2-3 weeks to be again in stock.
1060 has lower hashes, 23-24MH/s I think look at benchmarks, but better power consumption.

https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/2017-March-NEW-PANDA-Miner-B3_60663033668.html

They say they'll ship to the USA (for like $150~ fee)

they take bitcoin, bank transfer and western union...
Whats my protection on something like that? All three of those seem to be pretty non-reversal and I dont want to get screwed on $3K USD.
It's GPU miner, you can build one yourself with better price with no risk. I don't know anything about B3 but B1 used 8x RX 480.

1684  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining with laptop? on: June 04, 2017, 08:57:53 AM
Hi there,
i'm a student and i have a GL502VS laptop, it has a GTX1070 (m) graphic card and i want to know wich coin i can mine with it.
i don't have money to invest to a miner so i want to mine with my laptop. Can run windows or linux.
I've seen on this site https://www.nicehash.com/?p=calc that equihash is "profitable" for me. However how can i set it up and does it apply to BTC or other currencies?
Thanks for any replyes
Yeah sure, but nor BTC and not 24/7.
I have 860m and sometimes I'm mining XMR with it. While I'm watching movie I start XMR-STAK and let it mine. GPU temp is around 60° with thermal pad on lowest fan speed (18cm fan 600rmp), without thermal pad temp is around 65°. Your laptop seems gaming so it will have better cooling also 1000 series has lower power consuption than 800 series. Few hours a day shouldn't be problem, mining is a more gentle than gaming for a laptop.
1685  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ASrock H110 Pro BTC+ 13 GPU Board on: June 04, 2017, 08:07:55 AM
H110 with 13 gpus? How is that possible? H110 has 6 pci-e lanes, Z170 has 20 and it has trouble with 7 gpus...
1686  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why is the ASUS brand going from bad to worse ? on: June 03, 2017, 08:11:32 PM
I have 2x Strix RX 470, best fans I've seen on GPU. No problem with drivers, but I have modded bios so I'm using the patch. I really like Strix.
Different story is Asus Dual, those cards are bad... they now start with Expedition edition, but it has the same noisy fans as Dual :/
1687  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 6 x sapphire RX580 Nitro+ 4GB HYNIX - bios on: June 03, 2017, 07:16:06 PM
Getting 29Mh/s @ 85W on Sapphire rx 580 nitro 4gb here.

85 w gpuz ? Or from the wall ?
GPU-Z or MSI, I doubt you can have less than 100W with AMD GPU.
1688  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 6 x sapphire RX580 Nitro+ 4GB HYNIX - bios on: June 03, 2017, 03:14:31 PM
no. should i always reinstall after flashing bios?
Yes!
1689  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Rx570, is it good for mining and whats marque is the best on: June 03, 2017, 01:05:10 PM
Hello everyone please tell me which of these gpus  is better for mining  and what's the difference between them

Gigabyte aorus rx 580,4G
Gigabyte radeon rx580, 4G
Asus radeon ROG strix rx 570, 4G
XFX radeon rx 570 , 4G

Don't buy XFX, I've heard they aren't good.
Strix is pretty good buy, I have 2x 470 Elpida and Samsung. Very good fans... no memory heatsink Sad Very quite. ETH Elpida 29MH/s, Samsung 30MH/s.
I was thinking about Gigabyte too they are good priced right now. But I want 570. Tthere is not really big difference between Aorus and Gaming... (or you mean Radeon like reference, don't buy it) Aorus has better cooling. But both can have Elpida or Hynix, maybe even Samsung, if you are lucky you will have Elpida or maybe the Samsung. Also both have memory heatsink.

If you mine ETH, buy RX 580 if they have good price otherwise buy RX 570

Basically took whatever has Samsung or Elpida memory, but you wouldn't know this until you buy it Cheesy

What about power consumption?
Both my Strix 470 have around 77W in GPU-Z while mining XMR, 570 will have more.

Check this out guys

https://ibb.co/dEUj8F

Happened on my working PC..34mh/s on RX470
WOW, but how stable is that?
I've never even heard of RX 470 with 34MH/s not even RX 480 hashing more than 33MH/s...

I've 2 Strix. One give me 28MH/s, the other 26-24, same bios...... Where is the problem?!?! In one card i'm able to get 1950MHz, the other 1900 or crash.. Same card, same bios. IS GPU not ok? I've tried to change slot but is the fkkkking GPU
No problem only different quality memory and chip I would say... Do you have Hynix, right?
1691  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hashrate RX 570 on: June 03, 2017, 11:05:05 AM
Has anyone here been able to Undervolt their cards's BIOS?
I have a bunch of Nitro+'s and found that they can handle about 950mV but havn't been able to apply it to the BIOS for use on smOS.
Anyone had any luck on this yet?

His PBE mods won't work on Linux - for undervolts that do, you need it done properly. I offer custom work, though.
Yeah, you are right, I didn't realize you run Linux... My apologies.

No problem with that. I've made tutorial, link in my signature.
1693  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 3 motherboards fried trying to get a 7th GPU work on: June 03, 2017, 07:45:55 AM
In case of a single rail setup if the PSU can't deliver as much as you're trying to pull it will just shut down and not burn anything so it has to be something else.
Yeah, but Corsair HX series can be switched to both and it comes set to Multiple.
1694  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hashrate RX 570 on: June 03, 2017, 07:08:00 AM
can you share your bios? i just copied 1 1500 and paste it til 1 2000. cant oc beyond 1800 i have a lot of gpu errors
What memory brand? 4GB? Seems like bad card, you should return it.
PM me.
1695  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Rebrand - RX570 / RX580 - Official Thread on: June 03, 2017, 07:03:18 AM
How do you guys know which memory brand a certain card has? Is it just luck or can we actually buy a card with the specific memory we want?

I'm an old time altcoin hobbyist, about to buy myself a new pc and I was thinking about getting a Sapphire 570 pulse 4gb because it's a reasonable gaming/mining card and I can get one for under 200€ but I'm afraid to get crap memories. Should I opt for a different model instead or are pulses (and their memories) decent for mining?

Thanks
There is something like this: http://1stminingrig.com/spot-memory-types-rx-470-480-hynixelpidasamsungmicron/
But yeah you have to be lucky. In CZ Pulse is overpriced we have here very good prices for Gigabyte, I've never have Gigabyte GPU, but they same price for Gaming and even Aorus, price is about 199 EUR. You can find what GPU use which memory, usually 2 types, but they can use them all Cheesy I thought when I was buying my second Asus Strix 470 that I will have Elpida which I've already have one or Hynix and I've got Samsung instead Cheesy I'm verry happy it's my most profitable card almost same hashes as 480 and lower power consumption Smiley
I also have bad luck even with Samsung memory, but you know you can send the card back, right? I've bought RX 480 Dual, few days testing... pure shit... so I give it back and I've got my money back in few hours.
1696  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 3 motherboards fried trying to get a 7th GPU work on: June 03, 2017, 06:51:17 AM
How did you determine the mobo was fried?
Pretty bad smell and you can see burnt place on mobo.

I would say bad cables or wrong connection...
But only time I saw burn everything was like 8 years ago when my PSU failed only RAM, HDD and fans survived. Since then only parts on mobo burnt they use better protection now. My PC what I'm using when I'm not on laptop has burnt 4pin PWM controller and it was my fault I touched GPU power with metal frame, but GPU has no problem at all Cheesy
So my toughts are the mobo... also do you use multi or single rail? I was starting thread about this few days ago I have Corsair HX 1200.
1697  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Memory errors, do they really matter? on: June 02, 2017, 09:12:42 PM
Long story short, I was getting around 30.9 MH/s ETH + 540 MH/S Sia and I was pretty happy about it.

The reported hashrate on my pool was quite lower (27.5 ish) tho on an average of 6 hours.

I started looking for information and I've read that memory errors can cause it, since memory errors can make many calculations wrong or lose them.

So I launched HWInfo and I've seen that I have TONS of errors, like dozens per second.

I then started underclocking my memory a bit, went from 2230 (strap 1750) to 2190.

I need to drop almost 40 mhz to see a much smaller number of errors, but it also drops the hashrate.

So, what is your position about memory timings?
Lots of memory errors will crash your rig... little bit errors could make bad shares and few errors aren't matter.
1698  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Rebrand - RX570 / RX580 - Official Thread on: June 02, 2017, 08:50:59 PM
Hello everyone,

First, sorry for my basic English lol

I have two ASUS ROG RX570 Strix O4G with Elpida memory
It seems that many people have trouble of pushing the hashrate over 27+
After I modded the bios by 1500 strap and set :
        core clock: 1150 (-96mv)
        memory clock:2025
by MSI Afterburner, I got about 29MH/s
I've tried to get 27+MH/s by Wattman, but the memory clock can only push to 1900MHz, over 1900 even just 10MHz will get blue screen...
However, by using Afterburner, I can easily get 28~29MH/s with 2000MHz+ memory clock
Just some information for u gays, hope u will like it:)
I have Strix 470 and 29+MH/s with Elpida is no problem. But with performance timings I can't get above 1940MHz, if you have more luck for good card you can get to 30MH/s. With Samsung memory 30MH/s is no problem on 470.
28+MH/s seems only to be problem with Hynix right now...
1699  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 27 mH ASUS RX 480 STRIX 8GB Ethereum mining BIOS on: June 02, 2017, 11:35:41 AM
Hi. Your Asus dual with extra mod on top of the normal 1750-2000?
Core and memory clock to get to 30.1?
Dual mining or pure eth?
With Uber-Mix 3.1 timings. It was only ETH, but without any tweak on config. I'm mining Monero, I just tried ETH how it goes, it should be even higher with proper setup. You can find timings here: http://www.overclock.net/t/1604567/polaris-bios-editing-rx5xx-rx4xx
Or PM me I have lot of them.

Why the MB TB-250 will push more hash?
It's made for mining also newer... old mobo shouldn't have max speeds.
