1701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Report on the Bitcoin Foundation's Trip to Washington D.C. on: August 28, 2013, 06:14:24 PM
Sorry to insist: the report is appreciated but it seems so incomplete and vague... I think everybody would appreciate to know:

- who attended? Complete name list and agencies/organizations they represented
- what was the content of your presentations? Please share the powerpoint slides, etc.
- who asked what?
- what answers did you give them?

In other words, a complete report of the meeting. You represent all the members of the Bitcoin foundation and you just met with the FBI, CIA, Homeland Security, FinCen and so on, so we should definitely know what are you telling them on our behalf.

We need full transparency, we don't need more lobbyist doing their shit "behind closed doors". We already have had plenty of that.

now i`m talking to all the other people except vlad2vlad. romanians can move to germany and work and live their life. nobody arrests romanians on sight in italy. i have friends and relatives in italy and germany and they are doing great. but have no worries for my friend because we, all of the romanians, will forgive our friend and if he will ever find the strenght to say that he is proud to be a romanian then we will support cause i scream out loud that i`m proud that i`m romanian and i lived what i lived. I`m sorry for my english but as i was saying i`m not a native speaker. thank you all for your attention and please click unwatch at the bottom of the page and live your lives normally. thank you Smiley

You're an outright liar.  There are Romanians who have managed to find work in Germany, but as a general rule, you as a filthy Romanian peasant will not be allowed to enter Germany even though Romania is a EU member.  This is a fact.  Germany will not let your sorry Romanian ass into their country.

And in Italy, I have a Romanian cousin who married an Italian man (and i have a few other cousins working there who all say the same thing) and they visited us in America and she's ashamed and hides the fact she's Romanian.  She told me with her own mouth that she can't turn the TV on in Italy without seeing another Romanian in the news raping, killing or stealing something.

And it's a fact that if you go to France or any other European country and they find out you're Romanian that they'll totally shit on you.

The way you're portraying romanians in Europe is a total lie.  You can't be this stupid to not have any idea what's really going on.  Wait, you're the guy who said communism wasn't that bad in the Eastern Bloc.

Nevermind, you are that stupid.

I'm European, Vlad, and you are delirious. In Italy there is indeed a media-fueled situation with gypsies coming from the balkans and especially Romania, which as all gypsies are a culture by itself, not linked at all with the non-gypsies living in their country of origin (Romania, Spain, Hungary or whatever).

Don't worry pliznau. We all know Vlad is just a poor guy with delusions of grandeur. Nobody in here bought his story about the commie doctors making strange experiments with him.

Plus, all his furious ramblings about 50€ blowjobs, child molesters etc. just confirm that he is really disturbed and obsessed with both homosexuality and child rapes. Not looking good.

1705  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: progressive bitcoiners? on: August 28, 2013, 05:40:40 PM
You can be against capitalism, you can even be against any form of *money*, and still be pro-bitcoin just because it could be a big threat to the bankers and other financial terrorist scum.

You can have radical views, and still be willing to fight for small and feasible goals that improve society and solve *some* of the problems, even if you think that this goals are by no means a solution for *all* the problems.

I will give you a concrete example: Noam Chomsky defines himself as an anarchist, and still he always said he votes often in local elections. Obviously this statement is very much criticized by radical anarchists, who see any action that could legitimate the State (ie, voting) as a treason to the anarchist cause. Chomsky always argued that even if his ideal society would have no rulers and no state, there are some local issues that impact the day-by-day lives of citizens that are relevant enough for him to go to vote. Making a long story short, he says that he believes on voting in favor of something that will make society a better, more fair place, and that improvement could be a step towards your end goal (anarchism in his case).

Being myself someone who never voted in his life (I never had the stomach for it, and I think I never will), Noam's seems to me like a pretty reasonable approach. Same thing applies for anti-capitalists who are pro bitcoin. What is ridiculous is to state that FIAT money, inflationary policies and keynesianism should be more "anti-capitalist friendly" than austrian economics and a currency with a fixed supply (as many "progressive capitalist" argue). First and foremost, no monetary policy is "anti-capitalist friendly", and in fact keynesianism has always been a lifeline for capitalism, precisely during the times it was shaking the most.

3.5 BTC price makes me drool. Wishing I was in a previous auction. I could pick up 1-3. Sad

You wish you had paid +50BTC for 10GH/s?

Wow.

You are losing your funny touch, Vlad. You'll get plenty of ignores if you continue on that path.
1708  Economy / Speculation / Re: Track Record Forum Members on: August 28, 2013, 05:13:09 PM
OP, I think you are missing the most epic and representative call by our beloved rpietila, who was absolutely sure that we would reach 300k USD per BTC by the end of the year:

How many people you know, who bought a mobile phone, but went back to fixed line?

How many tried Internet but decided it's not for them?

If something happens in the world, would the news not reach the uttermost ends of the earth in latest 48 hours (if not instantly for most places)?

What keeps 1 billion people from adopting bitcoin? (How can you keep them from not adopting it?)

How many bitcoins are for sale?

To not believe in $300k this year is a denial of the facts. Only a technical flaw in the algorithm or a superstealthfast adoption of a superior altcoin currently not existing, or an all-out wiping away of all mankind can keep USD/BTC from exploding this year. Already everyone who has any position in this world knows about Bitcoin. Just post any nugget of actual facts that can contradict my $300k this year or cease replying to me with nothing material, thank you.
1709  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon chip order unboxing photos on: August 28, 2013, 04:25:09 PM
These guys are experts in getting hundreds of thousands of chips sent abroad smoothly without incurring additional fees or tax burdens.  So when Yifu claimed "stuck in customs" that wasn't going to fly at all.

AsicMiner labels their block erupters shipments as "test - pcboards"  so it comes with little value.

Sorry, but the import/tax burdens are on the customer, so in this case the fact they heavily undervalue the goods on the invoice is a very good thing for the buyer, otherwise you would have to pay a shitload of money to customs (for Example, in Europe it would be at least 21% + fess)

If you mean that I'm waiting for sub 60s since 2 months ago, you are mistaken.
I sold at 120 after buying at 110, and shall buy again at the bottom of this upcoming drop,
because I believe that price will rebound enough to make a profit.
As for sub 60s, it's too early to predict that as capitulation price.
If Gox $ withdrawals return to normal (maybe, maybe not, I don't know), then a bottom at about 60 is possible.

Can you please tell us your next move so we can learn from you. Thanks.

There's a few other guys who have been remarkably silent recently Tongue

I beg you pardon?

LOL, love that meme! Genius Wink

Well, I obviously missed the $50s, but considering that I called that bottom from $129 (when I sold) my call was not so bad as we indeed went to $64. I bought back a little at $67-69, then I bought back in full recently at $105. Didn't manage to double my BTC because of being too bearish, but nevertheless I increased my trading stash by aprox. 50% which in my book was a better call than just holding. I would say "barely better" because I spent way too much time on daytrading....

BTW, 66% of my trading stash joined the "investment stash" on a paper wallet. I sold the remaining 33% at $120 and requested a withdrawal to try some arbitrage with Bitstamp... The money didn't arrived to my account yet, so after the last rally my arbitraging move isn't looking too good ATM.

Finally, in all honesty I also wrote many times that so many people waiting for the $50s could have meant that we weren't going there. I still believe that we will see double digits again in 2013, probably not $50 but I expect testing $79 again and if it is broken the $60s again. Nevertheless daytrading is always gambling, and in the BTC even more so. Just one whale buyer/seller can trigger huge movements, therefore TA is pretty useless in this market Smiley
1712  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon chip order unboxing photos on: August 28, 2013, 01:58:25 PM
So that seems to imply that orders placed in April were made just 3 weeks ago? What happened to the chips that were supposed to have been made 2 months ago? It's looking more and more like everyone's batches were sold to someone else back in July.
It does appear to imply this.

Not necessarily. It could mean the foundry incurred in a huge delay. But obviously the lack of transparency and the mysterious "custom problems" nobody has seen in the wild are very fishy.

Honestly, I'm starting to get nervous about the batch #3 refunds.

OP: I messed up and I just sent 3BTC which were not sent from a single address (e2a2ada035f096ddccd60925f6c051aac56be7ccfe0865453ff7b28fefc02de3), I see now that I should have used coin control with armory... How big is the problem? Any way to solve that?

No worries - the current plan is to write the code so that those MasterCoins are awarded to the address which paid the most bitcoins. The other option is to award them proportionally to the addresses which contributed, but that seems like it would make things needlessly complicated. I expect that your address 1C9RKyQ9X77iA6ARd182dRyGiacedGwYec owns them all.

Of course, if somebody contributes equally from two different addresses, I may be forced to add more logic to choose one . . .

Great - thanks for the prompt reply!
1715  Economy / Speculation / Re: The thoughts of a bubble buyer on: August 28, 2013, 01:30:56 PM
To the OP:

Don't feel too bad, I bought [too many] coins at [much higher than] $230.

I'm still eternally bullish, and have had the opportunity a few times since then to add to my wallet at lower prices (eg, at $60 when I got the chance).

I have no doubt in my mind that the rate will get back to (and far beyond) what I paid for them eventually, just a matter of time.

Meanwhile, here's to hoping there are still more opportunities yet for buying coins under $100!! Wink

Much higher than $230? How is that possible?

ATH was $266, and a few hours before the crash the price was BELOW $230 - how did you manage to buy "much higher" than $230???
1716  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Block Erupter Blade]Low Price, Limited Quantity on: August 28, 2013, 01:27:18 PM
Operation "stock liquidation".

Pretty overpriced for being a soon-to-be obsolete technology.
1717  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon chip order unboxing photos on: August 28, 2013, 01:22:59 PM
And here you have the unboxing pictures of the chips bought by a spanish member (order placed on April, 16th)

He received the chips on August 12th, so aprox. 2 weeks before the OP. His date code is 1330, so it seems consistent with "30" being the production date.

1718  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casinobit - LIVE ROULETTE - [INVEST] - BEST CASINO OF 2013 on: August 28, 2013, 01:15:06 PM
Hey everyone, just wanted to give you an update, everything is still being worked on and we are thinking of introducing a live chat.

The claims of me being similar to pirate are absolutely bogus, why would I wait for the total to go from 60k to 30k in order to "rip-off" my players? Seems illogical.

In any case, thanks for your patience, compensation is also being discussed but I will not make any commitments in those regards as of now.

I have a question: Why is the site still accepting bets if you are not paying out? There are at least two people on the thread who have not been paid (including me) for a total of nearly 3 BTC.

Site still open, my bets still not paid, no response here or via e-mail to support. Sigh.

Please don't place any bets at casinobit.net! Don't be as stupid as me!
Perhaps this is the way he gather fund to pay others out, thats why he need time

If he had to froze the invested funds, but is still accepting bets/investments this is clearly a Ponzi.

I can only imagine the drama bomb if they actually had the escrow setup, people committed funds, and then the disappearance for a couple days..

The escrow guys request for passport and what not and he can't gave them the information. So he pull out. Anyway he is not  sincere from the start by not disclosing his identity. Shows that using escrow alone will not necessary work/.

Why is he not disclosing his identity? Are you joking or misinformed, right? Nobody sane would order a consumer product from a random, anonymous guy with a webpage a some posts on a forum .
