Have you checked this thread? Thousands of $ for a few weekly ad spots on this forum.

Honestly - I don't like it too much.
1762  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory no worky... on: August 22, 2013, 02:52:46 PM
I have 16GB of RAM, of which 10GB is free.
Would have thought that would be enough.

I think 16GB is not enough, that's why it crashes. The developer is trying to fix this, just wait.

I run it just fine with 8GB.

It's a funny idea if does well what it is supposed to do, and suggests multiple interesting sources for a topic you might be interested in.
1764  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MTgox Account Got Hacked on: August 22, 2013, 02:18:18 PM
I get so tired about this,

We see money getting stolen from Mt.Gox accounts every week (the ones that posts here far from all do).

In my case the logs (from Mt.Gox) even showed that no one had been logged in at the time of the transfer.

Someone or Mt.Gox has found a way to access accounts and transfer funds out.

And Mt.Gox just stonewalls everything...

What surprises me is that ppl still use Mt.Gox,

but instead people getting ripped off gets told that they are stupid and get the standard banter:
- compromised computer, 2factor auth, fake website, other website with same username and password.....

You need to give more details of your BFL order.

I'll bid 1.1BTC for the Avalon batch #2 shipped to me, escrow through John K.

Awaiting shipment of BFL order.

LOL - order number? order date?

Order No: 100051147
Date: April 29th 2013

Ill take that one if you pay me 0.5btc.
1766  Economy / Services / Re: "High" risk investment - 1:3 dice bot service on: August 22, 2013, 01:56:13 PM
The point is that the quantity of btc you might win is orders of magnitude lower than the quantity of btc you might lose.

Its just retarded.

No...
Investing 1 btc to win 0.5 btc with a 70 % chance is not retarded.

Expected Value = 0.7 x 0.5 + 0.3 x (-1) = + 0.05

And with a correct martingale, and a good money management you can even optimize the probably and equity to win.

Nonsense. You do not haven 70% chance of winning 0.5btc by risking 1btc using Martingale. If that BS was true, all Casinos in the world would be broke.

Let's say OP wants to win 0.02btc playing Martingale.

He only has 10.22btc, so he HAS to stop at the 9th loss in a row.

Losing 9 time in a row is pretty common stuff (I'd say a serious Martingale player should be ready to go to +15 bets). If OP is ready to double his bets every time he loses for 9 times, he is risking 10.22btc to win 0.02btc. Yes, he will win most of the times - but when he loses that loss (10.22btc) is stupidly huge compared to the potential win (0.02btc).

Last but not least, the point is that if he plays long enough, he will always lose.

-EV games (gambling) are pure and simply retarded.

If you play long enough, you will always lose everything. But if you set up a goal, and you stop when you win it, you can win xx btc with a high percentage of chance Smiley

The point is that the quantity of btc you might win is orders of magnitude lower than the quantity of btc you might lose.

Its just retarded.

Unwatch works for topic you have set to watch,  Mr. smartypants.

It does not work with "Show new replies to your posts".

true, which is unfortunate. the only solution is to use only the "watchlist" feature and forget about "show new replies to your posts"

BTW:

1771  Economy / Services / Re: "High" risk investment - 1:3 dice bot service on: August 22, 2013, 12:50:05 PM
FYI (dooglus is the operator of Just-Dice.com):

Lots of people use martingale betting on the site.  They start by betting a very small amount relative to the bankroll they have available, and double their bet until they win.  So long as they win one roll before the doubling gets out of hand, they are guaranteed a small profit.  This happens over and over, with the player taking a small profit from the site very reliably, and the siite profits gradually go down.  This is balanced by players not using martingale betting, who gradually lose due to the house edge.

Eventually the martingale players hit 10 or 15 or whatever losses in a row, and lose their entire bankroll.  This shows up as a vertical jump in the profit chart.

Apparently this style of betting is particularly common when people play with Bitcoin, and I'm not sure why.

Here's a typical profit/loss chart of a single martingale player.  Thousands of small wins followed by a catastrophic loss that wipes out all previous wins:

Add a whole bunch of similar looking charts together and you get something like the site profit chart...

end line: if you play long enough, you will always lose. Thus, is retarded.
1772  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: August 22, 2013, 12:44:11 PM
Those are old.  The reduction of SEPA queue to a week or less happened very recently.  Last word from marionxd (MtGox support) in #mtgox on Freenode is: "Europe is currently solved."  Contact them if you don't get your latest SEPA withdrawal today.

Spread between MtGox and Bitstamp supports this.  It is currently below 9%, and I haven't seen it above 10% all day.  Arbitrage is working.  I expect the difference to stay well below 10% until tomorrow evening, perhaps rise a bit during the weekend (no deposits), and return to below 5% next week.  Less than 5% is hardly worth the trouble of moving fiat around, but I guess some people will anyway.

Btw, why don't you ask for a higher withdrawal limit?  My limit is 10k EUR, and my status is verified.

Europe is currently solved? Wow, if that is true is very good news. We might see some dumping ahead.

I will try to withdraw ~500€, but I don't think it's solved. Otherwise the price would be equal on the exchanges already.

Well, the big 20% divergence just happened a couple of days ago, and since then is steadily decreasing.

06-04-2013 - 1000 EUR sepa - received 07-30-2013
06-27-2013 - 750 EUR sepa - received 08-08-2013
06-28-2013 - 750 EUR int.wire - still open
07-01-2013 - 500 EUR sepa - received 07-16-2013
08-09-2013 - 300 EUR sepa - still open

as you can see, it may take about 2 month for 1000 EUR.
my limit is 1000 EUR per day.
support giving just standard answers - no help.
This fits well with the latest information from MtGox.  SEPA withdrawal times are decreasing.  Aug. 9th was a Friday, and if it was done in normal daytime in Europe processing started on Monday 12th.  It should arrive any time now.  Just cancel your international wire.  It is going to take a very long time.  As a verified user you can easily increase your daily limit to 10k EUR by asking support.
no, i have been waiting 2 month for 1000 EUR and more than 1 month for 750 EUR.
it shows, that smaller amounts up to 500 EUR are much faster. maybe it's better to split it in smaller amounts.

Bitstamp is serious, unlike mt.gox, even if it is delayed, you will always get your money Smiley

Please give me an example of someone who "never received his money" using Gox.

"refunds are being processed" (Avalon statement on August, 19th)

Not a single refund reported.

What a bad joke.
1776  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: August 22, 2013, 11:54:26 AM
Yep still heard nothing from them.
So I guess main line cgminer support wont be happening ...

It would have been if at least they would have contacted you.
Pardon my ignorance and laziness to search but are kano and the other guy the only option for developing cgminer drivers? What about bfminer (if I recall the spelling correct)? Can't it be used instead? Not so efficient?

Well, if they took a commitment with Kano it would have been correct to tell him what they plans are in respect of HIS work.

Secondly, I do not think Luke-Jr has been contacted neither.
They contacted us to start with, as I said before, with plans and time lines.
None of their plans and time lines supplied to us have eventuated ... so far ...

that's quite a red flag. anyhow thanks for sharing, is appreciated.

I am using Linux , i am IT  so i am pretty sure that the computer is not compromised

The only thing i see possible i did mistake when i started use bitcoin i used same password as bitcointalk

there is no other possible way the password is 8 char long with Upper and lowercase

i can only blame myself that i was not using 2FA but lesson learned i post this that maybe it can help or will help someone in futur

8 char long? So crackable in a few minutes/hours depending on the setup of the cracker. I never use password of less than 16 characters and upper, lower cases and also symbols (!, $, %, etc.) if its possible.

And being in IT and not using 2 factor auth on a site like MtGox should automatically get you fired from your job. Seriously, what were you thinking about?

Plus, working in IT and reusing passwords instead of using unique, random generated ones by default on ALL sites you use is so retarded you should be banned from the IT industry.

'nuff said.
