1701  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 13, 2023, 08:56:43 PM
Celtics won the game despite missing 2 of their starters. This team played great defense and the main weapon in their game was their 3-point shooting. I think Memphis needs to improve their rebounding department, and also they love to play one-on-one which makes them very predictable.
The good ball movement is gone, we know that Morant can generate points, but eventually, he'll be tired and will be less accurate.
Who is this Sam Hauser from the Celtics? Cheesy The name isn't that popular, but he scored more than 10 points in his last 4 games.
What's good with the Celtics is their depth. In the playoffs, this is what you need. A good starters and a bunch of role players that can step up. The depth of the Celtics is just way too good because they have players that can step up in absence of their core players. They don't have neither Brown or Smart, but they have players like White, this Hauser player and their newly acquired Muscala who scored double digits. Add as well their three-point shooting which the shot 21/51 for 41.2% from it. How can the Grizzlies allow them to shot 51 tries and make 21 of them?

Many are looking at the Suns right now ever since the KD trade, but let's not forget about the Celtics. I still believe that with their roster, they can dominate the East in the playoffs and has a high chance to go to NBA Finals again.
I agree, Ja Morant has reasons why he is looking at Boston Celtics, right now they are on top of the East, just slightly behind the Bucks who are in a 10 game winning streak.

But I think Celtics is more complete and I would say that their stint in the Finals last year was a blessing for them. Now they are more mature and even if they have a issue in the beginning (coach), they are not that affected and it seems everyone has forgotten that already. And now we have seen players in their bench like Sam Hauser who is contributing, their bench is deep and I think only Milwaukee can match it in the league.

Boston Celtics are at the top of the table right now in the Eastern Conference. And I also do not think that people are actually not interested enough in the Celtics. They are more interested in who is getting traded or not. Sam Hauser is absolutely not very popular, but he is certainly scoring like a popular player for sure.

Celtics is a team that is not dependent on certain players. They are a team that can rely on any player. Almost all of the players in the team have the capability to play well when needed. And that is a certain type of depth that every team aspires to have, Now that is what they are showing. Even without too very important players in the team, they are performing really well and also winning games.

Not just in Eastern Conference alone, in fact, they are leading the whole league with Denver Nuggets behind them as they got 41 wins while Nuggets got less than 40 wins. Although, I will admit that I somehow expected that this will happen this season after what the Boston Celtics showed to us in the last season where they started quiet and suddenly rose through the ladder when the regular season was approaching its end. And then, they swept the Brooklyn Nets to eliminate them in the 1st round of playoffs.

Now, this is their time and they might take the championship with them if they can retain a healthy roster until the end but aside from that, they have to go through another couple of intense games in the playoffs again.
1702  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people don't adopt Bitcoin - they don't understand Expected Value on: February 13, 2023, 09:46:40 AM
It is just that people are scared to take risks even if the profit they will gain is more. It is because the emotions of losing are bigger than winning, no matter how big it is. I think it's because of the reason behind that money, like how hard he earns it, like in bitcoin's slow adoption because people are scared of their hard-earned money to lose even though it could double or triple their investments. Though there are really a lot of factors to consider, if the people are just risk takers, then the possibility of gaining profit (same on video that they almost all win) is bigger than losing.

Other factor to consider is because some people doesn't have an open mindset to know new things besides from what they have already learn, some are not yet informed that there's a bitcoin existing on the market and some already know but afraid to put some risk on their funds and just choose to give their moneys to the bank to let it die. Personally, I had the same mindset because at least I know I have money on the bank sitting and waiting for me when will I touch it for future purposes, later on, I did learned that these funds will be wasted if I won't take advantage of it. Hence, why I'm on this forum and still learning about new things regarding the economy and cryptocurrencies.
1703  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are you interested in bitcoin? on: February 13, 2023, 06:26:44 AM
If you compare bitcoin to gold or fiat, the benefits of bitcoin are many, but I am like many others here.
...

May be it will be a surprise but if to compare bitcoin, gold and fiat you'll find out that there are different benefits which all three have: you just choose what you prefer most. The majority in the forum chooses bitcoin, we like to have control over our own money and digital nature of an asset. But some others prefer relying on a third party or to have a physical object to own and they can consciously choose another option. Smiley

I don't just mean bitcoin has benefits, fiat and gold are useless, I mean bitcoin is a multifunctional asset. I'm not a fiat hater like many others because no matter how bad it is the fact that we are still using it every day, and without it we would have a lot of trouble in life. Gold is not profitable with bitcoin, but its safe. I invest in bitcoin, but I am saving gold for my kid's future. All 3 have their own benefits and different use cases.

Which is why these 3 exists up to this day and will continue to exist because every people have different view about bitcoin and gold. Just like what you guys have said, some people are still choosing physical things like Gold because they can touch it, see it and of course, they are much more assured that's its much safer that other types of investment. And there's also these people who are choosing crypto over physical things because it's easy to use and easy to carry unlike gold.
1704  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how many times have you intended to stop gambling on: February 12, 2023, 01:39:12 PM
Many times in the past but the more I wanted to stop the more I fall in love with gambling.

Actually, gambling is not bad, what's worse is when you become an indiscipline gambler, it's okay to make mistakes at the beginning but if we keep making the same mistakes over and over, then although gambling is fun, this is not for you because it's very risky for indiscipline gamblers.

A good example of indisciplined gamblers is those gamblers who went bankrupt, sell their properties, and end up living on the street. We don't want this to happen to us, so we have to gamble with caution as it's a risky kind of entertainment for some people.
1705  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: February 12, 2023, 01:09:38 PM
I read from the comments from some people saying we have a "sagip kapamilya" tonight, so that's the reason why Ginebra is not the heavy favorites.

Looks like they are correct, Ginebra are so different in this game, especially Justin Brownlee who does not have attempt based on his average. He just pass the ball and not so aggressive in grabbing a rebounds and defending. This is probably the worst game of Justin Brownlee, he only scored 6 points at the half and all the points are earn in the free throw line.

The way Ginebra played the game, its pretty obvious and losing by 30 points is quiet not a characteristics of Ginebra.
Well, this is the first win of Magnolia so maybe its indeed a "sagip kapamilya" game, lucky to those who are able to place a bet with Magnolia. Too bad to those who came to watch the game of Ginebra, they are not in the good form I don't know but its looks like they are just throwing the game.
This is not their first win, it's actually their 2nd win but they have 3 losses already. Call it a sagip kapamilya but it's really the game of PBA, you can tell how Brownlee played this game compared to the previous games. They really made sure that Ginebra will not be able to comeback, a 30 point lose is not fun on a Sunday game where fans came to see Ginebra to win.
1706  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 12, 2023, 11:57:13 AM
What a great game in Sacramento! The Kings definitely stepped up their game here as the Mavericks have Luka and Kyrie and they are not easy to deal with. Fox made 36 points and Sabonis with his usual double-double of 22 points and 14 rebounds. It was so damn entertaining I forgot to put a bet for the Kings.  Grin They won the game in overtime.

This is the help Luka had been looking for, they may be defeated in this game but they showed how strong they are if there are options for their offense.
And Luka just got back so I won't expect anything yet from him and the chemistry with Kyrie.

This is just the first game of Luka with Kyrie, let them adjust first, of course, they don't have the chemistry yet but the Kings are really good, they are for real and they have a good chance to play in the playoffs this season. Eventually, this Dallas team will be able to adjust, it's new to us because usually Luka will easily score 30 points and sometimes have a double-double, but this time his production was reduced since Kyrie assumed the other.
1707  Economy / Economics / Re: Untouchable Savings: Do you have it? on: February 12, 2023, 10:14:01 AM
There's no such thing as Untouchable savings because money is meant to be spent, it's just a matter of how and when you will spend.

In our society now, we are thought to save money, but IMO, we should save money for emergencies only, and other things that we find necessary to prepare for in the future. The rest of your money should go to investment, that if you want to achieve financial stability, and of course, you should not forget to reward yourself, as I said, money is meant to be spent.
1708  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] FigFueroa vs Magsayo WBC Interim Featherweight Title (March 4) on: February 12, 2023, 08:53:16 AM
And Foster winning against Vargas, the Featherweight division might go back with him as the WBC champion. So this fight is very important for this two, because sooner or later the winner might be Vargas next target once he moved down.
It was upset, Vargas doesn't look like a champ here. Foster knew what to do in the ring, he was in control of the fight until the very end, and this guy is so lucky to have won his first championship fight. So no more Vargas vs Magsayo, but if Magsayo will fight Foster, he'll be fighting a better fighter.
1709  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: February 12, 2023, 08:32:36 AM

I don't see this as a bad thing for the SMB, but I'm a bit curious on why Fajardo's performance in Governor's Cup is way below on his averages. I mean in his 5 games, he averaged only 11.8 points, and with those 5 games, he only scored single digits on 2 games. He's averages aren't the usual ones that we are seeing in different conferences.

Is there any problem with him? The changing of coaches might have an effect towards the playstyle of SMB since when they're coach is Coach Leo, he always wanted Fajardo to be the focal person of offense. New coach comes new adjustments to the team isn't it? Cheesy Well, if that's how Coach Gallent want to run the team then there's nothing wrong as long as they're winning.

I think the problem is the design of the coach plays. They have a new coach, so probably he has a different strategy, if Fajardo will dominate the paint, for sure they'll be able to get points from him, but it looks like their go-to guy now is CJ Perez, not JMF, that's why the percentage is lower compared to JMF producing in the paint where the percentage is high.
1710  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 11, 2023, 12:51:56 PM
If everything goes smooth with the Mavericks, then I guess he'll be staying longer, but it's just a matter of time, when everything goes wrong he'll most definitely going to do what he usually does, find his way out of the team.

A team has no choice but to trade Irving if he doesn't want to play anymore as he'll act unprofessional by not playing his best or worst is he will not show up anymore. So it's very crucial that the management has to ensure to give Irving his demand and help him build a good working chemistry for him to stay longer after he signs a max deal.
It appears that the majority of basketball fans are unsure whether Kyrie Irving will be with the Mavericks. I admit that Kyrie has had a lot of problems in the past, but he can come back and start over with the Mavericks, which is what he might do. When Luka returns, it will be interesting to see how these two deadly guards perform on both sides of the court. Kyrie has more experience than Luka. But Luka will probably play point guard, and Kyrie will have to make some adjustments. This is a big investment and if it fails, this will be a significant loss for the Mavericks.

If this is just a year of experiment that I wouldn't say it's a big investment, they can trade Kyrie and let Luka be the face of the Dallas Mavericks. That's how it should be and hopefully Kyrie knows that.

Again, we don't need another drama for Kyrie in Dallas, they are in a good position to make the playoffs already. They just need solid contribution from him. And so if the management didn't fine this marriage a good one then they can shift Kyrie next year again.

Lots of good things happening for Dallas right now, even if Luka is resting due to injury, their ranking is not affected, in fact, they are slowly going up in the ranking due to the 2 wins Kyrie had contributed so far. The pressure of Luka is now minimize, they'll certainly make it to the playoffs as Irving has a heart of a champion and he'll do everything to make Dallas a great team.

Bitcoin is very bullish at the moment ,
what you guys think , it's a short term rally or beginning of bull market
or I missed the bottom

We have to bet on the current situation as no one would really know the future of bitcoin. If we believe that we are heading to a bull market, then you should be confident on investing now, whether your are into short term or long term profit. This is crypto, a crazy bull run could happen anytime, but like I said, we have to bet and we have to take that risk.

1712  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Nonito Donaire vs Jason Moloney on: February 11, 2023, 11:53:35 AM
Also read that Donaire might be facing Mexico's Alexandro Santiago for that WBC version of the bantamweight belt.

That's a better opponent for him I believe.

Alexandro Santiago has 3 losses and not a KO artist, so as long as he will not face a fighter like Inoue, this chance to win is higher. Though Alexandro Santiago is the younger fighter with 27 years of age, but the experience of Donaire is too much and this young boxer won't be able to handle it.

Also, the height is only 5′ 2½″ , that's the kind of target Donaire wants to KO.
1713  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: February 10, 2023, 09:15:59 PM
And this is what Ryan Garcia has to say:

Quote
On Wednesday evening, Garcia posted an Instagram video of himself training at coach Joe Goossen’s Ten Goose Boxing Gym in Van Nuys, Calif. with the caption, “stop running Tank. Stop hiding from me. Stop staying quiet behind Al Haymon. No rematch clause. Winner takes all coward.”

https://www.boxingscene.com/ryan-garcia-tank-no-rematch-clause-winner-takes-all-coward-stop-staying-quiet-behind-haymon--172359

I doubt though that Al and Tank will have to bow on this kind of threat from Ryan.

I'm still seeing that this fight can be iron out by both parties and the fight pushing in May or in a later date. Brave though from Ryan about the winner takes all suggestion, but it hasn't happen in boxing.

Ryan Garcia has been over his head since this fight has been established and already under discussion with few issues left to consider like the one mentioned above.

He can say all he want about Tank Davis because he doesn't know the feeling of becoming the champion and spitting words like that is nonsense because he's not in Tank's situation. I bet he will request the same thing too if he's the champion, but I guess he will not have that feeling.
1714  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: February 10, 2023, 08:50:04 PM
Shakur Stevenson says Devin Haney has no choice but fight him or vacate in 2023

It's too early to talk about this, I think Haney should beat Lomachenco in his upcoming fight, and let's see if Shakur and Hane's fight is going to happen. Loma is not going to give this fight easily to Haney, in fact, I believe that Loma has a good chance of beating Haney if he can use his accuracy. I mean, Loma is still here, he can fight and could win, so why are people underestimating him?

I'm also surprised that some are assuming that Haney is coming out as the certain winner of this battle. It is as if Haney is fighting against somebody who is not a good boxer. Will Haney surely win this fight? I don't think so. Perhaps they're only looking at physical stats or age or some numbers that Haney has higher or more than Loma, but Loma has not lost everything yet. He is still quick and athletic. He could actually defeat Haney. Somebody should remind Shakur of this.

Why not, right? Devin Haney earned his place and that's why he is favored by some and even already assumed that he would defeat Loma, not easily but eventually. Just like Devin's chances, that goes the same for Loma as he's not guaranteed too. Let's just try to move-on because the world is moving and Loma might not be the same anymore, I know because I used to admire Loma's talent but after his defeat and long inactivity, something has changed.

The other reasons why Haney is favored is because he defeated the boxer who gave Loma's first defeat.
1715  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Figueroa vs Magsayo WBC Interim Featherweight Title (March 4) on: February 10, 2023, 08:27:13 PM
Now, this rematch though may not happen if Vargas will make a climb to the next weight class.

Aside from moving up weight, if Rey Vargas will win his upcoming fight, no chance for a rematch with Magsayo at 126 for a title match.

If he loses instead, he's still holding the WBC Featherweight Title and will mandatorily face the winner between Mark Magsayo and Brandon Figueroa.

But it seems that Mark Magsayo is not really looking forward to a rematch against Rey Vargas but instead will just go with the flow on whoever is assigned as his opponent and will focus there. I do hope that his aggressiveness to get that title again will have the same intensity as when he first grabbed it from Gary Russell Jr. or even much better.

Wait, help me understand about this mate because I'm in the middle of confusion here. If Vargas will get defeated on his upcoming fight which is 2 days from now, why would he still be carrying the WBC title? His fight with Foster is a title defense fight, so if he will lose, then Foster will get it right? And Foster will fight the winner of Magsayo vs Figueroa.

Or did I miss something? Huh

WBC 130lbs or the Super Featherweight title is vacant at the moment so Rey Vargas and Foster will be fighting for it in the next few days. If Vargaz will win that fight there's a chance that he won't be moving south in weight anymore as he will be campaigning in that 130lbs division so with that the winner of Magsayo vs Figueroa will be declared the champion of the 126lbs division.

If Magsayo will be the winner, no rematch in the featherweight division for Vargas and the Filipino slugger as they are now both holding a title in a different division.

I see, thanks for clarifying this bout to me mate. I haven't noticed that the Vargas-Foster bout will be contested at 130 lbs. fighting for the WBC belt, speaking of, time flies fast because this said fight will happen today. We will see what will happen as this the outcome of this fight is somehow connected to this thread. Hopefully things will go their own way, so that the Figueroa-Magsayo will be a title fight directly.

Kyrie Irving reacts to Kevin Durant trade from Nets to Suns: 'I'm just glad that he got out of there'
Just as I thought it was Kyrie who will push KD to get out. #Brotherhood.
https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/kyrie-irving-reacts-to-kevin-durant-trade-from-nets-to-suns-im-just-glad-that-he-got-out-of-there/

I'm not sure how all of these will work out for the Brooklyn Nets, it looks like a tough situation to be in, but I'm really glad they let go of both KD and Kyrie together there's no point letting one go and keeping the other, and the Brooklyn Nets will be better off in a couple of years with this decision even if not immediately, because now they're having a younger squad with less ego.

As for the Suns, I smell trouble in paradise, but I hope I am actually wrong on this because, it's a different thing to look scary and to actually be scary, I'm sure we had a similar opinion of Brooklyn Nets with James Harden, Kyrie and Durant on the same roster, and I'd say that looked more scarier than this Phoenix Suns, but it might all ball down to the chemistry and relationship they are able to build at end the of the day though, but I guess we can only just imagine until it begins to happen, right?

It was just unfortunate for the Brooklyn Nets because they poured a big amount just to settle Kevin Durant's and Kyrie Irving's contract but in the end, this is what they got. Started with a Big Three and was replaced by another Big Three, now they are a star-less team once again. But that's okay, they aren't that unfortunate because they had a good package in-exchange for KD. It's time for them to rebuild the team again and yes, that will take some time.

For the Suns, I like their move because I just want as well that CP3 will earn his 1st ring before he retires. But after thinking about it, I guess it won't be an easy journey as they are now packed with players with histories. Let's see soon how would the Valley react about their new add-on.
1717  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 10, 2023, 07:24:57 PM
I will try my luck today with Lakers to win with a comfortable odds of 3.85x even if it will be a very hard game for them but on the same time , I don't see Bucks going all in for this game either.

Another bet would be on Chicago 1st half and Suns 1st half as well because both have great odds.

That's some tough luck today mate, I'm sure those series of trade had its own effects on these outcomes, both Phoenix Suns and Chicago Bulls did not only just lose the first half of the game, they lost the match itself by significant deficit.

Bucks have been ahead since late into the 3rd Quarter and looks like they'll be getting the win, although the Lakers just wouldn't go away without a fight.

Awful bet mate...it was an awful bet from my side and I kinda regret it but I did what I believed and I'm ok with it.

It's true that Lakers stood no chance but I'm surprised that Bulls lost as this was a very important game for them and they still snapped it...

That was indeed surprising knowing that the Nets is now more vulnerable and they are still on an experiment to see who will lead the team now but even after that fact, they still withstood the game and defeated the Bulls. It should've been an easy game if only DeRozan exploded or at least kept up with LaVine's aggressiveness.
1718  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: February 09, 2023, 10:10:24 AM
At least Canelo is being honest and chill despite his past issues and differences with Ryan. With regards to the venue, a stadium might be cool to cater to more audiences but the organizers might opt for smaller, easier-to-manage, and boxing-proven venues like the MGM. They can easily match the gate revenue by increasing the price of the tickets. There are a lot of rich people regularly traveling to Vegas.

But the main issue right now is who will promote and what network will telecast if a rematch clause is activated. I cannot believe they are confident that this fight is happening yet this one which is very important is not yet agreed upon earlier. PBC showing its toxicity in boxing once again. Al Hymen is greedy once again despite his fighter being clearly the favorite. Obviously, GBP and DAZN should be the ones handling if ever a rematch is happening.

The "rematch clause" is holding this fight back and if they can't agree on it then this fight might not happen at least this April 15. I think there will only be a rematch if Davis is defeated as he is the current champion so it's just fair that Golden Boy Promotion will handle the second if ever that happens so yeah that Al Haymon is killing this fight on paper once again.

Yeah, still hanging on the balance, I thought that they have settled who is going to cover and everything. But this time it's the rematch clause and it shows that Al Haymon doesn't want to give control to GBP in the rematch.

And suddenly, the negotiations turn ugly now, I just do hope that they will keep quiet on it and not let the public knows what's going behind close door. So that they can work it out first instead of going to media which might fuel for either side not to push for it.

Did Tank Davis signed under Al Haymon of PBC already? All these time, I thought everything was okay and that GBP will organize the fight even if there's a rematch will happen as Tank is now flying solo and will build his own promotional company in the following years. Actually, it's not that new already that the discussion will suddenly become ugly because Al Haymon is now included in the equation. I don't know about that man, but he keeps on insisting that he should have the power always.
1719  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 09, 2023, 09:17:49 AM
Honestly, that gives me curiosity as well if Kryie Irving was just trying to be relevant or what because every now and then, he repeatedly ask for a trade before his contract expires even after the fact that he said himself he will stay on the team. But maybe this time, Kyrie will stay as long as he will get what he wanted because there's no question about his talent, really and surely, the Mavs management can do that for him and provide extension if his performance is needed by the team.
It happens from time to time and it's not just him that did that if we're about to recall those trade requests we might see some others did that in the past as well. Hopefully that he stays longer in the Mavs, any team he goes to, they're all good and it's just up to him how they'll share the same chemistry.
Going with the most recent win of OKC, Lebron's history made as an all-time scoring leader was noisier than their win. Goat or not for some fans, can't deny the fact that he has made and broken history. Congrats to him!

It's of my opinion that Kyrie is an attention whore and a lot of this crap he does is simply for that attention/staying relevant.  There's no question he's one of the greatest players in the game, as well as one of the greatest players of all time..but I can't stand the guy personally.

Definitely congratulations to Lebron breaking the all time scoring record last night!  I used to be a Lebron hater (as a Chicagoan who got sick of people calling Lebron the goat) until I realized I should be appreciating his excellence instead of hating on it.  He was certainly bound and determined to break that record last night!

I truly share the same sentiment with you on that, man. This Kyrie Irving is really making some headlines from time to time, and these days, he's making it yearly even if his image is becoming negative. But for his talent? Pretty much he's been hated but his skills on the hardwood is very reliable and without a doubt hard to guard.

But for the GOAT of his own era, the man, LeBron James, congratulations! I'm glad that I'm able to witness his greatness ever since he was drafted to the Cavs up until now in the Lakers, still making a history.

My picks for tonight.

Los Angeles Clippers (-2.5) vs Dallas Mavericks = First Quarter Win 1,82 Odds.

Washington Wizards (-3.5) vs Charlotte Hornets = Washington Wizards Win 1,82 Odds.

Portland Trail Blazers vs Golden State Warriors (+3.5) = Golden State Warriors Win 1,80 Odds.

Good luck guysç

Not bad mate, you got 2 out of 3 on your early bets.

The Clippers lost the game overall and even on the 1st quarter the Mavs led the game and leave a big gap from the Clippers. Surely, I didn't expect that Kyrie Irving will making his debut in this game without Luka. I just thought that it would take some at least 2-3 games before he shows-up to the game.

The Warriors has lost the game against the Blazers but you're quite lucky because you're betting on a +3.5 handicap and which covered the spread as the gap was only 3 points.
The Wizards, without a doubt, I already had the feeling that they won't have any struggles against the Hornets. Congratulations!
