1722  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-05-20] Cryptocurrency is Property in Russia, Justice Minister Confirms on: May 20, 2018, 11:51:18 PM
We will have to be a little careful here - it is the justice minister who has given this confirmation. In many countries, for taxation purposes, classification of assets could differ. The positive aspect is that there is no doubt about the status of cryptocurrencies (legal / illegal) given this statement by the Justice Minister.

Being an understanding of Justice Minister, it shows only an understanding based on the laws that already exist. That is, it is quite likely that new laws regulating and defining exactly what it is and how it should be handled by the state will emerge.

From these laws, I believe it will be clearer the limits that the state imposes on the use.

1724  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What is Phil Zimmermann's opinion on Bitcoin? on: May 20, 2018, 09:36:28 PM
Phil Zimmermann is the creator of Pretty Good Privacy (PGP)
I'm looking for some article or news where he expresses his opinion about Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies, but I have not found any relevant. Is there any good article where he comments on this new economy? Could it be about any particular project or about blockchains.
1725  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-05-20] The Bubble is Not Bitcoin on: May 20, 2018, 09:18:08 PM
The big question here is that a rise in Bitcoin will always show that more people are entering this market. But a high in Alts only demonstrates that people are already using the cryptocurrencies and are looking for a bigger yield. Bitcoin is the gateway. It does not matter what you think about it. Until today is the only digital asset with global liquidity.

Topic translated in the Portuguese section of the Forum.

Portuguese ANN: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4026268.new#new

But why is Bitcointalk Officially endorsing this coin/token though?
Any reason why this in particular?

The "Check out these messages by our celebrity promoters" are actually images from the web and not actually real pictures of any promoters?

SEC has kicked the hornet's nest, and the swarm is headed towards us.

1728  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: May 20, 2018, 05:43:24 AM
Is there any way to know the volume of transactions of Monero that is not going through the exchanges? I imagine that Monero is at least among the top 4 coins that are most commonly used. Not just projects that live from pump and dump on exchanges.
1729  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Exchange coin on: May 20, 2018, 05:07:32 AM
If you want to buy one that already works, from a project that seems to be serious and long-term. That has a strong brand. I would suggest to KuCoin. It is in a strong downturn at the moment what can be seen as an excellent opportunity.

But there are also decentralized ones. And it is in them that I believe more. The best ones for me are: 0x, Knc and BitsShare.
1730  Economy / Speculation / Re: What would happen if Bitcoin did hit $1m by mid-2020? on: May 20, 2018, 05:00:00 AM
We would have a much higher demand for watches costing $ 850k. We would have full media attention, and anyone without a fraction would call it madness. We would have several politicians trying to ban it. No one else would sell and in less than a week would already be worth 10 million.
1731  Other / Meta / Re: Please can we have a political discussion board. on: May 20, 2018, 04:32:05 AM
Keep Your Identity Small

Paul Graham

I finally realized today why politics and religion yield such uniquely useless discussions.

As a rule, any mention of religion on an online forum degenerates into a religious argument. Why? Why does this happen with religion and not with Javascript or baking or other topics people talk about on forums?

What's different about religion is that people don't feel they need to have any particular expertise to have opinions about it. All they need is strongly held beliefs, and anyone can have those. No thread about Javascript will grow as fast as one about religion, because people feel they have to be over some threshold of expertise to post comments about that. But on religion everyone's an expert.

Then it struck me: this is the problem with politics too. Politics, like religion, is a topic where there's no threshold of expertise for expressing an opinion. All you need is strong convictions.

Do religion and politics have something in common that explains this similarity? One possible explanation is that they deal with questions that have no definite answers, so there's no back pressure on people's opinions. Since no one can be proven wrong, every opinion is equally valid, and sensing this, everyone lets fly with theirs.

But this isn't true. There are certainly some political questions that have definite answers, like how much a new government policy will cost. But the more precise political questions suffer the same fate as the vaguer ones.

I think what religion and politics have in common is that they become part of people's identity, and people can never have a fruitful argument about something that's part of their identity. By definition they're partisan.

Which topics engage people's identity depends on the people, not the topic. For example, a discussion about a battle that included citizens of one or more of the countries involved would probably degenerate into a political argument. But a discussion today about a battle that took place in the Bronze Age probably wouldn't. No one would know what side to be on. So it's not politics that's the source of the trouble, but identity. When people say a discussion has degenerated into a religious war, what they really mean is that it has started to be driven mostly by people's identities.

Because the point at which this happens depends on the people rather than the topic, it's a mistake to conclude that because a question tends to provoke religious wars, it must have no answer. For example, the question of the relative merits of programming languages often degenerates into a religious war, because so many programmers identify as X programmers or Y programmers. This sometimes leads people to conclude the question must be unanswerable—that all languages are equally good. Obviously that's false: anything else people make can be well or badly designed; why should this be uniquely impossible for programming languages? And indeed, you can have a fruitful discussion about the relative merits of programming languages, so long as you exclude people who respond from identity.

More generally, you can have a fruitful discussion about a topic only if it doesn't engage the identities of any of the participants. What makes politics and religion such minefields is that they engage so many people's identities. But you could in principle have a useful conversation about them with some people. And there are other topics that might seem harmless, like the relative merits of Ford and Chevy pickup trucks, that you couldn't safely talk about with others.

The most intriguing thing about this theory, if it's right, is that it explains not merely which kinds of discussions to avoid, but how to have better ideas. If people can't think clearly about anything that has become part of their identity, then all other things being equal, the best plan is to let as few things into your identity as possible.
Most people reading this will already be fairly tolerant. But there is a step beyond thinking of yourself as x but tolerating y: not even to consider yourself an x. The more labels you have for yourself, the dumber they make you.

Não entendi nada Cheesy Cry

Como assim destruir?

Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

É como um pendrive. Você recebe com uma espécie de selo. Coloca no computador e cria a chave pública e privada.

Do faq:

Do faq deles:

A chave privada é única e secreta?

Sim.

1735  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I did it! Traveling with Bitcoin and $100 only on: May 19, 2018, 09:14:15 PM
With increasing numbers of ATMs, it will become increasingly common. Negotiating p2p will still probably be better for rates and prices, but ATM will be important to provide a guarantee and emergency facilities. Now, something that should already be increasingly common in tourist attractions is Bitcoin's own acceptance as a currency. Unfortunately it seems that we have stagnated and the number of businesses does not grow in the same proportion as before.

One simple thing is anywhere, in any situation ask:
  Do you accept Bitcoin?
1736  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance! Attention! Be cautious! on: May 19, 2018, 09:08:37 PM
Yes, you’re right. There’s a Reddit topic that had an image of the alledged email from Binance: https://www.reddit.com/r/binance/comments/8khcbw/be_careful_with_this_dont_do_it/.

There are so many scams around now that you really have to be wary and have all your senses on constant alert. This case was pretty obvious due to the high reward, but others are more suttle and use an URL that is very similar to the original but changing a character.
I also found a link somewhere to the file to download and, fortunately, it now seems to be pointing to nothing.

This shows how important it is to have different emails for different purposes. The vast majority uses pretty much a single email for everything, it has no meaning in that. The chance for you to fill out a form and then receive thousands of sophisticated phishing scams is too big.
1737  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin loses 10% of its value after being called "rat poison" by Warren Buffett on: May 19, 2018, 08:59:54 PM
One year after calling Bitcoin rat poison, Warren Buffett buys a stake in an insurance company that works exclusively with blockchain and accepts payments in Bitcoin.

He admits he was wrong and only now understands that the future has come. At that time, Bitcoin was worth only 8k, much cheaper than the current value of 80k

The anonymous payment option is incredible. I did not know about such a service. It worked much better than I expected, very fast. I will definitely begin to recommend this service. The possibility of anyone tracking what I do with my bitcoin always worried me, but I always find it very complicated to use the other mixers. Finally felt safe enough to use this service.

1739  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How will the future of wallets work? on: May 19, 2018, 06:25:00 AM
I believe that for small payments, you will use LN or something similar. And to access it and transfer funds you will not need anything very complicated. The term wallet sometimes makes the idea of what Bitcoin is quite confusing. Bitcoin has no life outside the blockchain, so what you have are keys to access it.

That is, in the future, for commercial activities like a dinner in a restaurant or movie theater, you could transfer from your cold wallet to your hot wallet enough for these activities. And a password would be enough in the terminal. And some kind of token to serve as proof of access. Maybe your iris, your tongue, your fingerprints, your speech.
