I have a very good track record in investing in alts. Check my post history over the last year.
I got in Feathercoin super early and got out at the right time.
Same for Vertcoin 500% profit.
Mintcoin got in kind of late but still made 80% profit.
NXT made 1000% profit.
Seriously go through my post history, I've almost never backed a losing coin. Mainly because I ignore most of them. I bought PPCoin when no-one believed in it and you could pick them for under a cent each (yes I made a lot of money). If I could be arsed I would bump up my topic telling people to buy it and I remember getting ridiculed.
I'm not perfect. I lost money on Bitbars. And only just broke even on worldcoin, but it took half a year and most of it was spent in the red.
Anyway, I'm backing Blackcoin. I could get out now at a profit but I truly believe in this coin. Most coins I ride the wave and then sell off, but a minority such as Litecoin, Peercoin, NXT etc I keep for the long game. I use maths behind my investments (have a degree in it) and if my assumptions are correct I see this being a big winner. The only thing we need to focus on is building a strong community now.
That means you was mostly early in, I'm now burned by NXT and Vert. Just was buying in tooo late... okey both are solid coins, but ATM they're not looking good. That's the value in the post, that there is a clear track record of spotting value coins before they take off. mr_random, I am glad I am seeing what you are seeing. It's less then 30 days from launch, I consider this very early. Lets look back on this in 6 months and see where Blackcoin takes us. |

I got burned by the pump-dumpers. I bought in at 0.00003300 and then I watched it drop to 0.00001200 within a few hours. OUCH MY A$$!!  I am glad to see that it's on it's way back up though. I have faith in this coin, as I have faith in the concept. Proof of Stake is a very interesting concept. And I think this coin will stand out as the champion of "PoS". Time will tell I suppose. But for those of you who are not jumping on the bandwagon, you should read this wiki article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proof-of-stake. The key thing is this, "The ratio of bitcoin's mining rewards to market value is programmed to decline exponentially. As this happens, proof-of-work monopoly will become easier and easier to obtain, whereas obtaining proof-of-stake monopoly will become progressively more difficult as more of the total money supply is released into circulation". That said, Blackcoin is not speeding into a brick wall like most of these other coins on the market. This coin is not so much for the pump-dumpers, but more for the long investors. I would suggest dropping a few beans and buying up some coins while the price is low. Don't get too disheartened, we have all been there. Look back on this in a month and realize you got in very early. |

Actually, you can't tell how many coins are in a given wallet or held by a single person because all you can see is how many coins are held at a given address and a wallet/person can and probably does have multiple addresses.
That's what I am saying, out of the top 20 there are 6-7 known exchange address, even if you add them all up together they don't equal 9 million. If these wallets were not used, then your looking at hundreds of wallets, which makes even less sense. I guarantee it was a bug and it was sorted out quickly. |

Its up to crypsty to add this coin on its own accord. I for one am not really happy with the level of service that crypsty has provided compared to other exchanges like Mintpal. I highly suggest you check out the other exchanges or donate to the cryptsy voting yourself, because it doesn't effect me in the least. |

The bump from 2050->2200 was just someone buying in. Atm we're doing quite good  (probably natural) ok, cause it sometimes looks like only someone wants to offload his coins in the 2000 range You're right, it's probably the 160BTC dude from yesterday. Blocking all upward movement and dumping his coins to ppl trying to pump I watched a 2.1 BTC buy @2000 vanish and then when a 1.9 @ 1950popped up, he put up a wall at 2010 lol.. 2.1 btc is a drop in the bucket when the volume is in hundreds of btc /day Agreed, but that wasn't my point. There is nothing wrong with a guy watching BC having 160 BTC. IF anything that should solidify that there are some big players looking to get back in the market before the pool goes live. Well, in this case... He had 160BTC in BC that was probably a glitch on your side. no one wallet has more then 2% (top wallet is like 3% but pretty sure that's the mintpal one) even the exchange wallets. |

Pump , it needs to calm down for a while to reinstate natural growth. Looks like is people quietly accumulating BC after the bloodbath on Saturday and Sunday. Guess what, fire-sales is where most savvy investors make a killing. |

If you want to give this coin life, have it represent something bigger. 1. Donate a percentage to Civil Rights. http://www.naacp.org/2. Associate it with M.L.K.  I like that BC is not associated with anything. Its just a currency. It doesn't promise anything. If the community wants to support causes, then they have every right too, but as a currency it should remain neutral. |

Its everyday the same, the whales choose a coin, pump it, make hype around it, dump it for a alot of profit. Thats the same game everytime. This time it was Blackcoin. But it also has a golden side: More people found out about this beautiful coin  So maybe we will see the price back at 1000, maybe 800, who knows, but thats no big deal because the community here is one of the best i ever met So with the multipool project and another good ideas this will soon go forward and the price will rise Ah and by the way, i lost everything cause of Wolongs great Pandastory and only had 0,3 BTC left and i bought BC for 250 satoshi the first day directly from the miners, and mined some by myself, Now i got about 2,5 BTC only because of this coin and 100k blacks, this brought me directly back to business  so i found out you only can win with this baby So GO GO GO!!! +1 This is a great coin - great community, I've loaded up more on dips to 1500, don't care about day to day fluctuations. In for the long haul! I'm fully agree with you. But I think this coin is already at it's dump side and made for myself decision that it is the time to switch to another. For now I am inclined to GhostCoin because it's new, also has POS reward system and cheap prices at exchanges. And I wish it will repeat BlackCoin's luck. Ghostcoin, really? Premine + only 2hr per-announce + instamine + POS 20% for first 2 years/POS 25% for the next 2 years/POS 30% for the following 2 years. Really? You think that is going to be the next BC? it will be till traders recover. expect BC to be more interesting after mid next week and more info about the pool going live for real gets released. expect it to be at least 10 gh on scrypt side , and it will also allow asics. it hit 7.5 gh this weekend stable. |

There's a lot of market momentum pushing the price at 3500. People are still dumping coins below that price in an attempt to drop it back down, or simply to get out. That being said there's a lot of buying still going on. If it fails to break 3500, tonight I could see us on a small downtrend.
If by a "lot" of momentum you mean around 20-30 btc then sure... although I consider the upswing of 1300 btc to be a better indicator. |

Is it buying time yet? I cashed out at a decent price because I saw the correction coming. No good pump can last forever. Also the guy that commented he could crash the market to 1500 if he wanted to, that shook me a bit  And then the sell walls kept getting taller and taller. Damn whales made it impossible to break 5k. I suggest you stay out... This coin needs stake holders that are going to hold on to the coin.. not run crying everytime someone says BOO! So hopefully some investors who don't want a quick cash out will bought out your coins. Your being a little dramatic, please refer to my post about the wallet analysis done AFTER the drop to 2500 and stabilization at 3500. Also, for the naysayers: This coin rose in price too fast. It was due for a correction. The market has stabilized and is building buy support are 3.3k satoshi. I expect plenty of volatility of this coin coming for the next couple of days, but I have a large stake that I'm holding onto long-term.
Ya I think the rise to 3300K was sustainable, the 5K we saw earlier was pump and dumpers playing with our beautiful coin unfortunately. They will be back to play again with the gains of our hardwork, I'm sure. It wasn't an organized pump. It was just some people getting a bit greedy and thinking it was going to hit the roof. Human nature. the market was a little overheated and it dropped back to support accordingly. this new high and the drop and rebound should solidify that this coin is going places. 1) massive volume 2) all volume over 2500, with a majority over 3500 3) tons of interest was generated 4) broke new records for volume and market cap 5) price stabilized above the breakout level of 3000 >> momentum to the upside is confirmed. 6) on break of 5k, there will be enough buying to push to 6000 or even 7000 on the next leg |
