Good questions. As I stated previously you can delete all the pre-loaded software and put whatever software you want. The wallet is the official BC wallet and it works the same way, no changes at all. The startup menu is custom and just gives the end user useful BC information. So for example...lets say you bough the card as gift. The person receiving the card might want to buy more BC. They insert the card and the auto menu launches with info on how to buy BC, current prices, news....etc..etc

I would have preferred if the software couldn't be changed unless it is a wallet upgrade.

being able to change it is necessary. You do not want closed systems, we are not apple or any of their ilk.

No..it is a commercial product. I do not want every coin developer copying and pasting the code, and then recreating what we have done. However, you do not have to run the software included. You can just load the standard wallet alone and lose the custom start up menu, it is your choice. The start menu is just launcher that gives you access to everything associated with BC, it also can auto update the wallet when a new version is released.

right, just a sweet custom BC USB. I probably would run my own custom cocktail of programs on it.

How big is the USB? 4gb?

Now Taking Pre-Orders - BlackCard Wallet Card

nice but lose the "once you go black" it was kinda fun at the start but its super lame now.

I have no problem with that. I rather put www.BlackCoinCard.com there instead. However, lets see what the rest of the community think.

Accepted worldwide is a bit of overstatement imo for a usb wallet

take off all the writing on the back, just the map thing, (perhaps make it a tad bigger?)

no need for the writing. It just clutters it up.

I suggest http://www.blackcoin.co/ instead of a quote at the bottom or even blackcoincard.com works I suppose.

I prefer the clean look, no "slogan" is necessary. map thing is neat.

Now Taking Pre-Orders - BlackCard Wallet Card

We are now accepting pre-orders for the BlackCoin Wallet Card!!! Please click here to place your order: http://www.blackcoincard.com

Price: $20.00 + Free Shipping!

Pre-Orders will be from today until 4/18/2014. First Batch will be shipping out the week of May 1st!

Only the first batch will be the limited edition version!

The official website launches 4/14/2014 @ 5:00PM EST

Please note: The image is just a low resolution mock-up. The actually card will be high resolution supper glossy plastic with vibrant colors.

So what exactly is the Blackcoin Card Wallet?

The BlackCoin Card Wallet is a completely branded BC card with a pull out USB dongle. It will be loaded with a custom BlackCoin start menu and the wallet pre loaded. When you insert the wallet into your computer the menu will automatically launch, and you will have access to your wallet, current market prices, BC news, and other elements all in one place! What makes this exciting is you will not only be able to keep your wallet with you at all times, in the event you need to access your funds you will be able to do it at any Windows computer. The blockchain and all other data will already be loaded on the card. (Obviously if you do not plug the card in regularly it will take longer for it to sync). Also, the launcher will automatically update the wallet to the current version automatically.

Another benefit of the card is you can pre-load as many coins as you like and give the cards away to family and friends as "gift cards". They will not need to be tech savvy to use it! Just insert and go! This is a great way to introduce others to BlackCoin.

And lets be honest, wouldn't it be cool to walk around with a BlackCoin wallet card with the sexy logo?

I doubt that wall be pop up again under the 10k mark, volume has dropped to a point where the movers are either gonna have to let the price rise to flush out more sellers or sell themselves to create a panic.

even if they did drop 40 btc right now, they wouldn't be able to buy back in with 40 btc, coins would get snatched up super quick. No one wants to sell under 10k.

BCMultipool needs to tear down that big 40btc on mintpal when it appears again

hmmm nice call, it apears it is gone for now... less then 20 btc to 10k

coinkite is not really gonna kick in for about 60 days. If moolah can't even last that long... Im sure another company would pick up the slack.

everyone waiting for blackcoin to break 10k. will have to revisit in 48 hours

not going to quote it, but if you see a coin worth 10mil-1 bil + with a few thousand in volume its a massive scam. Volume supports legitimate coins, no volume is the biggest red flag.
1471  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Blackcoin Lightweight Wallet on: April 11, 2014, 12:35:33 PM

Hello Everybody,

I am www.wowdoge.org WowDoge LightWeight Wallet Developer.

I wanted to ask, whether you would be interested in Blackcoin Lightweight Wallet?

I'm currently working on BlackCoin Lightweight Wallet.

The Project will be open sourced and available on GitHub (links below). I'll try to do daily updates here on this thread to keep everyone posted on the progress. The official start date of dev is TODAY. Looking to have the wallet ready by next weekend.

List of possible features.
  • Lightweight wallet is wallet which does not need to download huge amount of data to be able to be used, so quick synchronization. So lightweight wallet would end the frustrating waiting time downloading gigabytes of block chain!
  • Has an extremely smooth interface. It is created with the intent and success of being exceedingly end-user friendly.
Utilizes an interface that is uncomplicated and easy to navigate. This could help especially to new people interested in crypto currency.
  • Support of paper wallets.
  • Create paper backups of private keys.
  • Withdraw/import paper wallet/private key into wallet so you can spend it easily.
  • Scan and withdraw private key from paper wallet via webcam, QR code private key scan functionality.
  • Scan addresses from QR codes via webcam.
  • See exchange rate of BC/BTC, BC/USD, BC/EUR, BC/CAD, BC/CHF, BC/AUD, BC/CNY, BC/RUB, BC/JPY, etc.
  • See balance and transaction values in the national currency.
  • Store wallet files in user defined locations.
  • Label addresses.
  • See balance for each address.
  • Export/Import private keys in all known formats.
  • Watch only address support.
  • New features implemented upon request!
  • Open source, sources on Github.
  • MIT open source license.

Here is first screenshot:

I would like to make sure that here is interest to do such project. In other words, if you wish to have this project finished, show your interest by donating BC. I need at least 1 BTC value in BlackCoins to pay at least partly my development time, effort and server costs.

Please feel free to donate to the development of this app.

Will anyone here sell me 1350BC for PayPal? PM if interested. Regards
Anybody??$?

paypal is shit for usd transfers... even small amounts, too easy to do a chargeback and lose everything and they don't like cryptos. Try Localbitcoins.com  its like the Craigslist of coins.

whale?

if 40 btc blocks bc then it kinda deserves to fail. 40btc is nothing, this coin has traded 1800 btc at its peak and typically trades around 500-800 btc /day.

come on people, soon as 10k is broken on blackcoin it will be on everyone's radar in altcoin land and maybe even bitcoinland

Hello, I am new to crypto and heard a lot about blackcoin. It seems interesting.

Could you please explain what is special about blackcoin? Why is the value growing so much and what are some important objectives blackcoin is trying to achieve?

Thanks.

Other people will be able to explain this better, but 2 of the key factors that i can think of off the top of my head are;

-PoS instead of PoW, no miners to dump the prices, eliminating value inflation and miner dumps
-a community that is ripe full of projects and enthusiasm. someone posted the other day, we are the 3rd highest thread in posts on the BitcoinTalk Announcement section, which says a lot.

there is much more, but i'm just a guy who bought in. many more people can enlighten you to the opportunity offered here.

Interesting. So do you think price will continue to go up? What will it be in one year?
I second this question. I am contemplating on purchasing more BC

Others can add to this but I love Blackcoin because its simple.

There is so much your going to miss that is great about blackcoin but the TLDR is:

Fast // 10 sec confirmations, fully confirmed within 10 confirms
Low inflation // 1% annual, no penalty for spending as staking can occur after 8 hours
Tons of interest // top 5 volume coin consistently every day for 6 weeks? you better take notice
A real smart dev, (fixed mintcoin without a request? +1 Rat4)
3 separate investor groups working parallel
Coinkite // We will see how big this is in a few months
Awesome Community leader Soepkip who at the drop of the hat brought in the Dogeofwallst and his fantastic team and built the best multipool on the planet within a week. www.blackcoinpool.com
Blackcoin is not restricted to any regoin
No IPO
No Premine
ASIC have no negative effect on price, only neutral or positive

There are things I'm missing but things move so quick, I wouldn't be surprised to see blackcoin at 1+USD/bc and listed on BTC-E within a month or so.

1475  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | on exchanges | PoS | No premine on: April 10, 2014, 08:26:10 PM
Remember that our price is in satoshi. If Bitcoin's price is down, so is ours.

bc is gonna spike higher once it gets past 10k, everyone knows this. Bids are starting to stack up now. Should be for Friday or Saturday sessions and should last at least 3 days.

you mark this post, when the trading range tightens up like this for a long period of time, markets have a tendency to springboard. Assuming there is enough volume to verify interest, which blackcoin is still a top 5 volume coin.

everyone is seeing how many coins they can snatch up under 10k. The traders and weak hands are selling what little they have hoping for under 9k but the more I watch this the more like what I'm seeing.

move your btc, get ready, grab what you can and hold on tight.

1476  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | on exchanges | PoS | No premine on: April 10, 2014, 07:20:20 PM
Does this mean we are included in the lovecrypto thing since you can no longer vote?
Hi, just as an update about the lovecrypto "voting". Kassado tried to extort more btc out of the bc community and when he didnt get any, he removed bc listing completely.

So mintcoin is back up as number 1 Smiley

But, just as a heads up. He is only out for your btc and he said that he doesnt care if i call him out as the scammer he truly is.
I just saw this in the Mintcoin thread  Undecided

yep, good thing BC didn't send him anything. Not like that site gets a lot of traffic anyway. Good riddance !

bitcoin dying?

Bad day for bringing new investors, everybody loses on Alts when Bitcoin drops.

yes but the lure of getting i cheap might be a good thing for new money. BC seems to be holding its own. I certainly am Wink

doesn't look like holders are going to blink as they hold all the cards, just a matter of time.
1479  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | on exchanges | PoS | No premine on: April 10, 2014, 03:42:13 PM

The only people cashing out BTC now are those who have invested more than they could afford to lose, unfortunately.

That's a firesale, people dropping for a loss. Wallstreet playing the game? general market maddess?

who knows, I'm not selling any bc or btc though.

Question: Will Blackcoin be all that it can be if Bitcoin falls away?

Believe me I'm not trolling. I'm Blackcoin's biggest fan. I'm just asking a serious question.

Thanks!

tough question. Currently bitcoin has broken through key support, blackcoin is holding above high key support (9k).

Won't know for a while. I'm keeping all my Blackcoin right now though. I think people are going to adopt the wait and see approach. Who knows people may say fuck it and switch to blackcoin while bitcoin dumps. cash out directly via prelude.io.
