In what time Multippols swapping BTC for BC?Anyone knows?

they do it throughout the day.

but at 2.5 gh... that's going to be significant and with all the whales out of BC and in Zetacoin, only people left are new investors who bought in over 8k, and holders from the beginning.

The sells to 10k on mint will fall in time.

if my coins will be on exchange more than 8 hours will pos mining work?Huh??

typically not. to get staked coins its best to keep them on your personal computer.

but at the end of the year I hope to see you around so I can say "I told you so".

I'll be only too happy to oblige. I've been wrong about plenty things and don't mind being proved wrong again, I just see what I see and once you've seen the same pattern a few times an element of predictability starts accompanying these observations.

For example Myriadcoin has a load of "interesting" distinguishing features just like BC did at the start but it's sitting there as yet unpumped at 450 Satoshis - one tenth of BC's value even corrected for coin supply. I'd be hard pushed to guess which one had the more upside at this point regardless of whatever long term factors apply.

Erm... No it doesn't. It suffers from extremely high coin inflation, a flawed distribution model. All it has is multiple mining algorithms which mean nothing to non-miners.

30s block times with no issues, because of the 5 algos (each 2.5min). Block times even lower if they add more. That's what the multiple algos does for non-miners.

blackcoin is 10 secs... so yay ?

Specifications
Block time: 1 minute

Ehh? If I'm somehow missing something let me know.

PoW was 1 minute.

PoS is 10 seconds :

One of the great features that Proof-of-stake offers is that transaction confirmations can be made extremely fast which makes Blackcoin deliver the first transaction confirmation after only 10 seconds and fully affirm the transaction after 10 confirms. The use of Proof-of-stake also makes Blackcoin extremely energy efficient.

There are some legitimate criticisms of Myriadcoin for sure, but a flawed distribution model is not one of them. It allows anyone with any hardware to jump in at anytime. Maybe BC's instamine was a more fair distribution model?

Look at the top 100 holders? none are holding very much, with less then 10 wallets holding over 1 million. Plus the price crashed pretty hard to 500 so most of original holders ditched.

LoL. You're kind of making my point for me.

This kind of nitpicking is all there is to choose between one alt coin and another. That's why none of them ever make a dent in Bitcoin's dominance, nor will they after this year.

ok... i think you just proved colin's point that you look at things way to vaguely. If you consider a high inflation pow coin similar to the low inflation pos coin then pretty much you just outed yourself as a moron.

Its a pretty massive difference.

Toko is a troll that bashes Blackcoin constantly. Just check his post history. There's only one reason why a person posts constantly negative posts in a coin topic.

indeed. I id'd him several pages ago. He is a baghold of nxt and mzc. i would say its a shame but it doesn't matter.

Blackcoin just made another 24 hours high. edging ever closer to the 10k mark and took over the 4th volume position from zetacoin.

BC being held is feeling mighty comfortable.

Regarding translating the press release to other languages to increase the visibility and value of the promotion.

Am I the only one thinking it's a good idea? Or is it already translated?

Again, I could translate it to Swedish and push it to relevant outlets at the release time. I can't see any reason why a wider spread of the press release would be bad?

depends, do you have access to Swedish financial sites? I can't see iconic needing help with translations on anything listed on bloomberg or yahoo financal

I want to specifically call on all who are not believers in Blackcoin

Investing isn't a religion.

It involves the use of a calculator not a bible.

if it involves a calculator then why are you a holder of nxt ? did you hold as it dropped from 100 million market cap to 25 million?

Couldn't you use that calculator and spend your time doing something productive? Use your time and money to invest in a coin you calculate to be a good investment? Or should you use that time and effort and claim for the past week that blackcoin is a bad investment?

Yet nxt continues to slip and blackcoin continues to gain ground.

Dude, you're a hypocrite, get over yourself.

1532  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | on exchanges | PoS | No premine on: April 08, 2014, 04:43:42 PM
Doge has massive inflation right now, that's why it is dropping. It could not sustain that kind of growth, not because it was not marketed correctly, it was. Currently the market is saturated with high inflation/premine/ipo coins with poor distribution, blackcoin offers the option to opt out of the current crypto dogma.

You think a $300,000 supernova marketing campaign's a match for any of that ?

possibly, but its a start right? 300k is not chump change here. and 40% of that going into dedicated mining ASIC's is a plan for residual value generation.

Blackcoin has been in the top 5 in volume for the last 4 weeks sometimes knocking Doge out of the way and yet the value is increasing without the distribution getting too top heavy. This is an amazing feat to achieve.

also ty for only quoting a part of my response.
1533  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | on exchanges | PoS | No premine on: April 08, 2014, 04:14:26 PM
in this case you are not taking into account the "hype" or "marketing" factor

I don't think that is going to make squat difference to the value of the coin, at least in the long term. Dogue had massive marketing appeal but it's been on a permanent 45 degree angle trajectory towards zero for the best part of 2 months now. Every now and then there's an attempt to resurect it with a big buy in which last about 24 hours before going back down like a lead ballon.

The most interesting thing about Blackcoin is the multi-pool concept and the effect this is going to have on the market for other coins - specially the ones that fall within Blackoin's targeting policy.

The pool hashrate is now becoming significant. It's not clear how this is going to change the dynamics of the market but I suspect it will have a significant impact that may possibly change the landscape of this sector forever. That doesn't mean that BC will be the sole beneficiary though - it doesn't 'own' the concept of multi-mining even though there's clearly some short term gain to be had.

Some of the koolaid drinkers around here just haven't been around long enough to realise that no coin has the luxury of being sole heir to the Bitcoin legacy but they'll find out soon enough.

Don't kid yourself that BC has - or will ever have - anything approaching the network effect that Bitcoin or litecoin do.

On which Law do you refer?

The law that says it's easier to gain "network effect" when there's 2 competitors than when there's 2000.

I don't see 2000. The only "competitors" I see are the 18 positions ahead of us on coinmarketcap.com (including NXT). That's all.

The Germans main reason they lost the war was that they couldn't make cars well enough, or sell them to anyone.
Wink

Germans lost the war because they went east, and while most of their equipment while superb, was way too complicated. Better to have 1000 ok tanks then 100 really good tanks. Also if they would have waited a year before invading poland they would have been significantly ahead of everyone in terms of technology. Jet power would have played a key roll.

It also didn't help that Hitler was crazy as balls at the end.

anywho...

Thanks!

In less than 24 hours we as a community will introduce the world to BlackCoin, and tomorrow we will make history!!! Yesterday the mere mention of Blackout Wednesday sent a shock wave through the crypto-community and increased BlackCoin value to over 9000!!! What do you think will happen when the rest of the world find out about BlackCoin???

There are some naysayers who claim BlackCoin has peaked. Those are the same naysayers that said BlackCoin peaked at 500 sat, and then they said BlackCoin peaked at 2000 sat, and then again at 7000 sat. They will continue to say BlackCoin has peaked all the way to 990000 sat!!! I do not blame them for their ignorance, they have never witnessed anything like BlackCoin before and they do not know how to react. Our community is only several weeks old and we wield more power and influence than other communities that have been around much longer!!! Now imagine the BlackCoin community in another 3 months!!!

Tomorrow lets finally quiet the critics and put any doubts to rest about BlackCoin. We are here to stay and we will continue to innovate and grow until we are #1.

Once you go black...

Feels like now is as good a time as ever for a volume update...
Per MintPal:
-6-hour chart showing a lot of chop and there are no unresolved targets left to hit; not bearish or bullish.
-24-hour chart also has a lot of chop and no unresolved targets left to hit, however the increasing volume with rising price from the low-7000's to upper-8000's and then decreasing volume on very minor pullback is beautiful. Buyers are content and willing to wait. Sellers will be shitting themselves on the next up-swing.
-3-day chart also has some chop with not much of an unresolved target at 8700. Overall consolidation between 8000-8700 looks likely.
-1-week chart has the high-volume candle from April 4 at 9500 begging to be re-tested; again we see the bullish pattern of rising volume on the increases, falling volumes on the slight pullback...this thing is gathering up many BC holders who are willing to wait out some consolidation for bigger gains.
-"max" chart had bearish volume off-the-top from March 24 after the initial peak which was on very high volume; this is attributable mainly to pump-and-dumpers as well as a lot of traders 'selling the news' ("buy the rumor, sell the news") after the blackpool beta got under way. Luckily after the dumpers got out they left cheap prices for longer-term holders/believers, hence the coin moved back up on steadily increasing volume instead of dying off in a stair-stepping fashion like we've seen many many many other cryptocoins do.

Looking forward, a re-test of 8000 or even upper-7000's wouldn't surprise me in short-term, I would consider them gifts from weak hands, but clearly the buyers are coming to BC and so 9500 is the main re-test target. Also I wouldn't be surprised to see more 'buy the rumor, sell the news' mini pump-and-dump type of action leading up to this press release for "Black Wednesday". So a break above 9500 on increasing volume would be glorious to see; we'll see if Wall Street takes notice. So far, my buddies there still think BTC is the only game in town, though they have heard some things about dogecoin....so essentially BC has so so so much room for growth still it's ridiculous.

Appreciate your analysis, bc has tons of room to grow and technicals look sound, but they are neutral for now without a breakout.
