I'm more concerned at why I can see a dip to 26K during the big selloff... and yet my order at 27K never was filled on Mintpal?
I realize that with many cryptos that have a life expectancy of less than a year (less than 3 months in some cases) this type of market movement can be disturbing. However, with BC this is a different situation. Unless you bought in at the top of a pump (either the 97K or the subsequent 58K pumps) with no additional investments to average down with... you really should either be even or still in the profits.
If you don't believe in any long term viability of BlackCoin, then 25% losses in a day
should be frightening... at the same time, if that's the case, then you shouldn't have bought in to begin with. If you are only jumping from one coin-of-the-day to the next in hopes of making millions overnight, you are 100X more likely of becoming whale
food than you are of becoming a whale yourself.
In the "real world" investing in a mutual fund or stock that can return 10-20%
per year is a massive win. With BC those types of gains (or losses) are a
weekly occurrence, and in some cases a daily one! You can't expect something that goes from 15K to 42K in the space of a few days to never correct back to the mean... or at least you can rationally expect that. If you consider that the HIGH price during the first day of trading on Mintpal (5000 sat) to the lowest in the last week 14.8K on the 23rd still represents nearly a 300% gain this year... and to the lowest of the 'dump' yesterday (26.5K) represents over a 500% gain... I'm thinking we're doing just fine!
25-50% swings in the crypto world are similar in nature to pink sheets or early venture capital investments, private stock markets etc. this isn't new and isn't precedent setting in any way.
In early markets as the coins keep getting distributed, we keep seeing slightly higher lows from month to money.
Blackcoin is still very bullish after that sell off. Next week should be interesting. Test of 40k and i expect 50k in the near future.
also expect MBA and coinkite news.
