To create a read-only API key, you need to set the ☑️ Enable Reading checkbox at the stage of creating a key on the Binance exchange
I checked your website and it seems like you only have a Binance guide for API setup for now. Would be a good idea to add guides for other exchanges as well, since some of them don't have a concise guide on how to set up a read-only API key. That being said though, nobody should rely on one guide published by a third party and try to check out their exchange themselves.

Is your UI design final btw? I don't know how or why but I feel like it is not modern enough these days. The color scheme also doesn't really suit my taste. Not sure if it is a personal preference or not, but it is probably a good idea to do a review campaign or something similar if you're planning to improve your app further.
1742  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Migrate from one ethereum wallet to other using migratoor on: January 31, 2023, 09:49:30 AM
This is a bit annoying so it's a good idea to update the site and add Binance Network to the list and get the tokens recognized automatically.
To be fair, it is not explicitly mentioned that they 'support' BSC or other networks (at least on their GitHub page). Even though they can interact with BSC and other ETH forks, some of their code explicitly use ETH exchange/dex to fetch the name of the token. You can probably modify it and run it locally by modifying this part[1], though I'm not sure if there are other codes that need to be modified to make sure it will automatically fetch your BSC tokens. CMIIW.

1743  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Wallet on: January 31, 2023, 01:45:06 AM
If people starded to use this P2P System, why do others people started to go outside of the original way planned by satoshi ? ( Ethereum, MtGox, Bitinstant, QuadrigaCX )
Because people can innovate, they have their own motives (the majority are for-profit obviously), some believe the network is not suitable for their purpose etc. At the end of the day, no one can guarantee that the project will always go the way its creator intended, you can even see some forks here and there claiming to follow the original idea of satoshi but some details are quite different from what has been discussed on the whitepaper.

But what bothers me is the fact that to get it in the beginning, it seems like you had to be part of PoW protocol, in order to be rewarded for your work of verification and security, in other words, to be a dev or to know one.
What is the alternative in your mind? You need to consider that the network is still in the early stages. No one would bother running software for no reason. You don't have to know the dev or be an insider, you can just download the program and run it on your own. Basically, you can mine it yourself. This way there will be competition and the distribution will be fair. At least it is fairer than producing 1 million coins out of nowhere and then sending 1 satoshi for each new user.

And that's my whole problem: how would I have held my Bitcoins, without any computer skills, without any desire to sell it, loan it or trade it, ONLY wanted to exchange my fiat in BTC, WITHOUT any third party ?
I don't get it. If you have no plan on trading Bitcoin or using it as a currency, why bother owning it in the first place? Wanting to own some BTC without learning any 'skill' or knowledge related to wallets at the very least sounds like a silly idea. It sounds like you want to ride in a car, but don't want to drive, don't want to hire somebody to drive for you, don't want to rent a car, etc. It sounds like wishful thinking if I get what you're trying to say correctly.

If this question is related to how you can get BTC without going through exchanges, as others have mentioned P2P is probably the alternative. If you don't want to interact with anyone else but get the BTC directly from the network then mining is the only choice, but it is unrealistic to do it without any capital. Hoping to mine without spending any dime is also silly since the network has grown so much compared to the early days. I believe trading or earning BTC, not through mining is still within what satoshi envisioned if that is what you're worried about. CMIIW.
1744  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Whats the downside of Crypto GPU mining? on: January 31, 2023, 01:24:54 AM
are with 4-6 GPU-s each, from the 2000 or 3000 series from Nvidia which I consider good cards for mining still. Also if you do not have the capacity to pay the energy for the complete rig, simple, run it with 1,2 or any amount of cards that you can pay the electricity bill.
I'd suggest waiting a bit more since it seems like the GPU price will drop because there is too much supply. I've been surfing PC-related forums and many reports also claim that GPU sales are decreasing because the price is too much for most buyers. This might be the 'correction' time for GPU pricing after the insane price hike over the last few years, which some people attributed to mining or the increase in the price of GPU parts. Whatever the reason is, buying a new GPU right now can be quite tricky. CMIIW.

Profitable times will come, not only mining at loss but also investing.
It is also not a bad idea to prepare for the worst so you won't get wrecked by an unexpectedly long time of mining at a loss or something similar. Some people always expect the best thing to happen and then they fail to prepare a contingency plan which results in massive losses and affects their livelihood. Better safe than sorry.
1745  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Best exchanges to launch new coin on: January 31, 2023, 01:05:41 AM
Mining coins are listed somewhere else like gravitex, or not popular one but Im not sure though if its still active and working. Just my observation.
If the project is premined, OP might be able to pay more reputable exchanges with some coins and BTC for example. Although that would probably discourage new miners to join the network since some coins are mined beforehand, and it is difficult to justify when there are other coins that they can mine. That being said, if the developer is known beforehand, I bet they can request tier 2/3 to list their coins even if they don't pre-mine any, although fees might still be a requirement. No one is gonna give you publicity for free after all. CMIIW.

Maybe at least they could try first at popular exchange where people know about its existence since from there provably they can get short term hype.
I'd argue that building a platform like suggested above is the better choice. Money will come after people use it and more exchanges will definitely take a look at your coin if there is a demand for it.
1746  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Migrate from one ethereum wallet to other using migratoor on: January 30, 2023, 12:51:57 PM
This is very similar to https://drain-tokens.vercel.app if I'm not wrong. I'm not aware of other tools but I won't be surprised if this idea has been implemented on many projects. It is a cool idea and useful if you need to send many tokens to other addresses, whether you are at risk of being hacked or not. I won't trust any tool like this if it is a closed source. Fortunately, that doesn't seem to be the case for this one.

You are right about this, this could potentially become a hacker tool after all, imagine how easy it is for the hackers to transfer all your tokens in one go, the developer of this tool may have good intentions in creating this tool but it will be the same tool that hackers could use to get the job done easily.
To be fair, any tool can be used by malicious actors to do malicious things. It is not exclusive to this tool. Considering the recent attacks don't even need to access the user seeds to transfer tokens, I doubt they will use this just to transfer some tokens. They can easily transfer those as long as the hacked address has enough ETH since they don't need to save fees. Some hackers probably use a bot to do stuff like this. At the end of the day, anything can happen, being cautious is never bad.
1747  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I will invest in bitcoin for my child's cost when they grow up. on: January 30, 2023, 12:34:42 PM
If you are asking whether investing in Bitcoin for the long term is good or not, I'd say that as long as you can take the risk it is worth it. While I believe Bitcoin will increase its value in the future, some people don't have the necessary capital or management to make sure they can avoid being destroyed by the bear market due to overinvesting or something similar. If that is what you're worried about, you can read more about dollar cost averaging or value cost averaging and make sure you follow your plan carefully. It is difficult to give you detailed suggestions since we don't know if you also invest in other things or just Bitcoin to prepare for your children's future IMO. The general rule is to make sure you can invest the amount you can afford to lose.

For security or inheritance setup, there are many good threads about it here. I suggest you search and read about them. You can find discussion on time-locked transactions, multi-sig setup for inheritance purposes, or even find some service that provides custody for inheritance purposes. Although the latter is probably not the best option if you want complete control and don't want to rely on a third party who might or may not hold your money and use it without your consent.

Are you familiar with hardware wallets, air-gapped devices, etc? Depending on how familiar or how eager you want to learn about them, your setup options can be flexible. CMIIW.
1748  Other / Meta / Re: BPIP extention using method in Mobile Browser on: January 30, 2023, 12:13:47 PM
In my approach, I prioritize safety first, security first so I won't arbitrarily use anything if without it, I feel inconvenient, uncomfortable. Browsers, extensions, applications, I would like to ignore them and avoid to make installations on my mobile.
That is a good approach. If you're wondering whether Kiwi Browser is good or not, you can probably take a look at their code since they publish it on GitHub[1]. They are based on Chromium just like Chrome, and some alternatives like Yandex which supports extensions also based their code on Chromium. There is not many alternatives for Android browser with extension support other than Firefox afaik, so you can try them too since the extension is also available on Firefox.

Because if you name a few good browsers then you have to put kiwi browser besides Chrome, Mozilla Firebox, Brave, Microsoft Edge.
Other than Firefox, most of them come from the same root at least. I don't know how reliable Kiwi is compared to other browsers, but it is definitely not the most popular. Not that it matters if it serve your purpose. That being said, if you're worried that your account might be compromised if you use another browser/extension, you can also create an alt account for mobile usage. Then use that account to browse the forum with the extension/browser shared here.

I wonder why some users ask questions like this. I'm pretty sure I've seen a few threads asking whether they can mine BTC with their CPU/laptop before. Is there a trend on social media where people share how they mine Bitcoin with their phone or something? Sure, lucky/lottery mining exists but using a laptop is probably a bit overkill, especially if your device consumes a considerable amount of electricity. Might as well consider buying BTC regularly or look for other alternatives OP.

Coinbase commerce is limited for some specific countries and does not work in some countries.
Are you referring to Coinbase-managed commerce? I remember posting about it a few days ago, but it seems like they have a self-hosted option. However, you still need to register an account and they still collect some personal data[1]. It doesn't look like they ask for KYC for that option. But I do agree that BTCPay is probably your best choice if you want control and privacy. CMIIW.

According to their self-hosted terms of service, they have access to the user's e-mail, transaction history, product & service the user sell, the information they provided to customer support, and cryptocurrency addresses used by the user[1]. Just try and report it as suggested above, who knows, they might be able to help you by providing other addresses that can link him to something identifiable.

I'm still trying to leave it for 20 days after fully charging the battery so I didn't turn on the hardware again until 20 days later, I'm curious about that if for 20 days the battery will run out or is there still some left after that, I'll let you know after reach the next 20 days.
I think the explanation shared on the official link is very vague. There is no test data, ambiguous 10 minutes a day usage, etc. I would not take them seriously tbh. Even if you complain about it and claim that they scam you, they can easily claim that your usage and their test are different. I'll just assume the worst and be prepared to change the battery (if possible) some months after I use it since I read many threads on social media like Reddit that S1's battery life is questionable. That being said, it is not that different from other HW though (some members even claim it is better than what Ledger is using), so that's that.

Have you encountered any problems charging the battery?
Some Reddit users claim their battery died but a firmware upgrade fixed it, albeit they need to charge for some time[1]. Keep in mind that this might refer to the old version.

1754  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor Password Manager Deprecation! on: January 29, 2023, 11:13:56 AM
There are several hardware wallets that exist today and they are Trezor forks, like KeepKey, OneKey, Prokey, etc.
OneKey is biggest Hardware Wallet company based in China, and they could easily continue with OneKey forked Password Manager.
I think forking a hardware wallet and a password manager app has different merit for them I guess, at least the former is more profitable for them. I can definitely see someone or some company deciding to provide a password manager on their hardware wallet software, but there are alternatives such as KeePass if they want to fork from existing software. At the end of the day, it is just a personal choice though, so I'll see if there are any new forks of it.

Bitwarden is not bad but I don't want to use any cloud service aka other people computer, so I would only used it as self hosted.
I remember trying to self-host Bitwarden but failed because I need to register a domain that points to my device. Is this still the case or can I point to my local IP address now? I think the problem is also related to SSL encryption certificate. In the end, I choose KeePass. Syncing manually can be a pain sometimes but it is not so bad since I just use 2 devices regularly.

1Password (which mentioned on Trezor website as alternative) also had few security incident and IMO should be avoided.
I won't be surprised if other centralized platforms have similar hiccups but are not yet exposed. I'd never use any centralized password manager even if it is convenient to use. They should recommend more open-source password managers as an alternative on that page.
1755  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Wallet software security on: January 29, 2023, 10:51:54 AM
In addition to that, even with the password that's been set, one will still be requested to input the private keys in a situation where you change your device to a new one even after inputting your password.
If you use a new device, essentially you're creating a new wallet, unless you export your old one and open it on your new device. Even if the latter is the case, you don't need to re-input your private key again afaik, just need your password/fingerprint/etc to unlock it. Of course, this assumes you use the same wallet again. That being said, most wallets use seeds nowadays, so that might be the better choice to back up.

I create a private key in addition to the password that will be requested and keep it in a safe place.
I think you might be confusing something with private keys. Some wallets probably introduce another PIN-like feature that you need to input in addition to your password to make a transaction, but as mentioned above, a private key is not an additional choice, it is necessary. CMIIW.
1756  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BtcCollider questions on: January 28, 2023, 02:36:17 PM
what this
How did you run the project? I searched the error message and it seems related to a Linker error in VS Code. For example, this link discusses changing the Linker settings to solve the error[1]. CMIIW.

You can probably open an issue if the error persists and you can't run the app, although it seems unlikely as long as you follow the guide. I assume you use Windows, have you made sure to do what the developer suggests before running it on VS Code?

Install CUDA SDK and open BTCCollider.sln in Visual C++ 2017.
You may need to reset your Windows SDK version in project properties.
In Build->Configuration Manager, select the Release configuration.

Build and enjoy.

Note: The current release has been compiled with CUDA SDK 10.0, if you have a different release of the CUDA SDK, you may need to update CUDA SDK paths in BTCCollider.vcxproj using a text editor. The current nvcc option are set up to architecture starting at 3.0 capability, for older hardware, add the desired compute capabilities to the list in GPUEngine.cu properties, CUDA C/C++, Device, Code Generation.

So, jangan lupa DYOR/DWYOR.

https://www.ledger.com/phishing-campaigns-status

- Vice Society ransomware leaked the data for University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE).
- A a ransomware attack on shipping software supplier DNV impacted 1,000 ships.
- Data was stolen from the KFC, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut brand owner during an attack

1760  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Know any laptop wallets that have Google 2FA login? on: January 28, 2023, 01:02:27 PM
Trustwallet doesn't have the 2FA based on Google, Authly, Microsoft etc only pin code or biometric of device. Biometric of device can't rely on in case phone gets lost/broken so pin code on other hand is probably possible to enter multiple times right and has no bruteforce protection which gives cool down period or block IP on Trustwallet?
I doubt the majority of decentralized wallets will block or gives a cool down for the wrong password/IP when you log in. Most of the time you have the seeds anyway so you can immediately use another device to sweep your previous wallet and use a new one. This kind of feature is probably found on exchange/centralized web wallets.

Doesn't wallet to be integrated with exchange just need them to be on same network like TRX, BSC, etc so can do transactions between them
From the sound of it, you might want to buy a FIDO-supported hardware wallet that can act as a 2FA key. That being said, I don't recall wallets that support them for wallet integration other than what has been mentioned above. MetaMask, which can do what you want to do since the majority of those chains are derived from ETH also doesn't support it as far as I'm aware. Some suggestions or commits have been made to support it but I don't see it being implemented atm.

If what worried you the most is the possibility of attackers gaining your keys and spending it all, what you can do is probably prepare a better seed/device protection or try to use multi-sig if your crypto supports it. CMIIW.
