It was a bug, it's already fixed, looking at the price chart some people panic sold a few million NXTs.

Yeah, payment processing is a good thing, but the best payment processors are those that: 1) offer different ecommerce plugins to easily integrate pricing into the website when you have hundreds of products listed (magento plugin, etc); 2) offer withdrawals in fiat currencies, because that's what most merchants want. among payment processors for altcoins that offer both of these options GoCoin.com seems to be the leader at this time, it has both features.

Um yes, it has lost its ASIC resistance.. is it dead? No. Can you use the word 'officially'? Obviously you can. Does it have any meaning when you use it? No it does not.
But it can be said that Litecoin is 'officially dying', because developers officially refuse to innovate or even copy other coins' features into Litecoin claiming Litecoin is subservient to Bitcoin, so it will not implement anything that makes it better than its Master. The universe is set up in a such a way that if you're not progressing relative to others, then you're regressing relative to those who are progressing. Regressing is another way to say 'dying'. 'Dying' is a process, it can go on a long time though.

Btw, when will the nxt fee be lowered and how much? Recently I received 4 nxt at nxtra.org/faucet/ and am very happy about it. I'm lucky! Jean Luc, the core dev, said it will be lowered when he completes some database changes, which he's working on in 1.3.0 branch. So, likely, the 1.2.0 branch which will include DGS and Alias trading will still have the same 1 NXT as a fee.

Define 'a kind of infrastructure'. Many people fairly argue and I tend to agree with them that until you can buy a hooker and booze with a currency, it's not really a currency, which is a way to say that currency must be accepted at all levels of society and allow to pay for a wide variety of goods and services.

Yeah, well, except for the slavery part. The guys who built the pyramids where free craftsmen working for good wages and the sheer glory of building big things.
Many researchers present evidence that even modern science is just on the edge of producing tools necessary to fulfill that kind of work, hence they hint at extra-terrestrial nature of many wonders of the world, like those pyramids.

Can't wait to try it! I have 6 coins nobody's selling cheaper, so I'll just use those little ones to enforce democracy

The picture only proves a lot of speculation due to those currencies being older, that's all. If we look at Litecoin particularly, a lot of people are dumping to get Bitcoins with occasional dead cat bounces.
The picture proves that posts such as 'Litecoin is dead' 'NXT is the best crypto' are FUD. Litecoin is not dead yet, but on its way. NXT is the best crypto, yes. In any (s)election process, be it with their votes or money, the majority is always wrong, don't forget that.

You can destroy NXT coins by sending them to Genesis account. It's an expensive trick though

If you're a fan of PoW and can't stand PoS coins, your best bet against 51% attacks is Myriadcoin. If you're ok with PoS coins, nothing better than NXT.

POW is still the best method of distribution. Not saying is the ultimate best method, but its better then whats out there.
once a coin goes POS it can only be bought. Buy BTCs all over the world is not a walk in the park
But you can buy minign rigs and mine from all over the walk. POW allows 10000s more users get into the game and especially your coin.
You go POS and you cut out a major POW investors and possible new users. You will rely on BTC owners to buy your coin. You will close your circle of traders and it will be the same old circle jerk of traders. same traders trading same coin.
POS is has shown to prevent %51 attacks that POW presents via hash control , but whats the point when the community will not grow easier and the coins will not distribute as decentralized as POW.
You can combine your love for mining/rigs with PoS advantages by mining NXTs at http://hashrate.org/ with your ASICs/GPUs.

If you're fascinated with Proof-of-Work and are afraid of 51% attack, Myriadcoin is the coin for you. If you're ok with Proof-of-Stake, nothing better than NXT right now.

The only thing is that 99% of people still riding horses =)

...having the leader of a project cheating.... That is definitely a no-go and a blocker for future adoption.
No software is the real blocker. Humans are humans, but software can't lie. No software can't lie even more so

Works like a charm. And no danger of 51% attack.

...but we look in the future with optimism. Haven't thought of setting up that NXT AE gateway yet?

What makes litecoin so special?
Solid historical position being first altcoin of Bitcoin ~CfA~ That won't last forever will it now? That's the only reason for which LTC is 2nd. How about applying the same argument to Bitcoin? What makes it so special?
