1761  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 19, 2023, 01:48:20 PM
This time, Trae Young didn't take many shots, but he did 12 assists and organized the team well. Everyone in the team scored, there was a very balanced distribution. Dejounte Murray scored 30 points with 67%. In Dallas, the effort of Doncic, Dinwiddie and Wood wasn't enough. Dallas lost 3 times in a row, their decline continues. Something is wrong with the team. Jason Kidd must resolve this situation. They don't get enough contributions from the bench either. Atlanta won 4 times in a row and came close to the play-off spot again. For them things are going well for now.

Or probably Jason Kidd is part of the problem? it seems that he can't bring the team into chemistry, just like in this game, they have a good chance to win although I have the underdog Atlanta to beat them.

And that has been the story of the Dallas, the bench is not helping, or at least if they, it's always feel short of expectations.

There is always some missing pieces and it's hard to pinpoint whether it was the coaching of the players themselves.

Dallas IMO is a better team with him. In terms of a roster, I think they already have a good one but most are young and do not have a good experience in the playoffs. Luka is also young, maybe Luka will only win a championship if he will follow the style of Lebron to create a super team. Right now, Dallas is not a superteam, they have the best player Luka but he is not surrounded with a consistent players.

A good example of a team that has good role players are the Nuggets, their best player is Jokic but he can rely on his teammates to help him win.

That's probably the last option but it will not make the team exciting to watch as people hate when a superstar leaves his team to join with another superstar just to ensure a championship. There's not much justice on that, look at Lebron, his fans hated him when he leave the team, but good thing he came back and win a championship, that way he was forgiven. Will Luka do the same? I don't think so.
1762  Economy / Speculation / Re: I think Bottom is gone on: January 19, 2023, 10:23:30 AM
We may think that the bottom has disappeared but we never know how the market will move. Basics can happen again if there is negative news about bitcoin, the market, the global economy or anything else that can affect the crypto market to lose its defensive power.

Currently, bitcoin is experiencing another correction with a condition of falling $ 20k but hopefully, the price will not continue to fall but can return to $ 21k. The current situation is unstable as there seems to be a force pulling the bitcoin price up and down continuously. So you have to be careful before deciding to enter the market.
The situation isn't stable yet which is why it is too difficult to assume that everything will be okay and say the bottom is over. Besides, reaching $21k isn't impossible to happen even during the bear season meaning that we don't need to be confident of the current pump event in the market, sometimes can be just a short pump and it drops again.

It was good to see the market showing green color again but this could give me confidence at all. I was still thinking about the correction and can possibly it strikes again when people are already thinking for Bullrun.
1763  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is investing in ethereum safe? on: January 19, 2023, 09:50:25 AM
what's altcoin safer for investment than ethereum that has that high market capitalisation to the point that the other altcoin following it getting left behind, I think you're safer investing in eth than investing in other alts.
basic rules of thumb should be you are allocating majority of your investments in btc and eth then some other coins after that. then you're gonna get relatively low risk investment portfolio in your arsenal and shouldn't worry about losing most of your money when some alts collapses. so that for long term you could get more benefits out of your investments since alts in general only suited for short term.
ETH is the safest investment among altcoins and we have no reason to doubt it but OP hasn't seen it very clearly which is very unfortunate. Although we can say that because of trx fees which gives some readers to a few traders and investors are also looking for another coin. But this is not enough to think that ETH is out of its potentiality because I haven't seen any altcoins that could have equal potential to this project. Our trust stay strong and the faith that someday ETH will rally back high again together with Bitcoin.
1764  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: January 19, 2023, 03:50:35 AM

Finally, we don't need to worry anymore that this fight was only pure hype. Now, it is already official as they already signed a contract, so let's all be excited for one of the biggest fight this year. Maybe they are starting to train now, getting in shape, and hoping they'll be 100% in the actual fight.

I'm looking at the poll result now, there's more voters favored Davis to win, well, I'm on the other side.  Smiley

I consider this a legacy fight between the two fighters, before this coming fight there are no boxers on each other resume that match the power and skill of both fighters, hopefully, this will be the start of a blockbuster year in boxing, where undefeated champions with equal skills fight each other regardless of their promotions.
This fight will not happen if Mayweather is still the manager of Tank, he did the right thing in getting rid of Mayweather who just wants to milk Tank by fighting low-level fighters.
I agree, whoever wins here could cement his name in the pound for pound list. Ryan Garcia has been calling for Tank many years ago because he knows that it will defend his legacy so here we are right now.

Most probably Floyd will not allow Tank to fight Ryan yet if he is still promoting Davis.

He is his cash cow, so he doesn't want to take that risk, but fortunately, Davis decided to go solo now and we are having this mega fight.

It's a great move that he goes solo because that gives him the freedom to choose a fighter he wants to. He is not independent because he is already in a state where he can attract a crowd because of his popularity, and one way to be more popular is to fight the best in his division that's why Garcia was targeted.
1765  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 19, 2023, 02:12:54 AM
So Giannis is still not playing against the Raptors, but it looks like they are doing good with Holiday leading, although a lot of minutes still, we are still in the second quarter.

Initially I don't want to bet on this game, but what the heck, I took the Raptors -1.5 above 2.xx odds, attractive to me. So let's see how far the Bucks can extend their lead with Giannis.

Holiday is very hot yesterday and he really stepped-up in the absence of Antetokounmpo with a lot of great support from Grayson Allen and Brook Lopez. Fred VanVleet posted 39 points on the side of the Raptors, but unfortunately that wasn't enough to suppress the firepower of the Bucks. I wouldn't blame you if you took Raptors -1.5 because Giannis is out. Always such a trap team to bet on just because of a single player Cheesy

Yes, he was hot, but the Raptors was able to take the lead in the last minutes of the first and through the second. But he did step up in this game and so Greyson Allen and Brook Lopez.

Live betting, NYK vs Washington Wizards, NYK is behind right now end of second quarter, so I will put a bet on them ML at 2.30 odds.

They are behind a double digit now, I have that was a good bet and they will come back to win. They are at home, so they should have the inspiration to come back and make it a close game, that value you get is good since they are -5.5 before the game.
1766  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: January 19, 2023, 01:38:00 AM
The votes in the poll are already 50/50. It means half thinks Devin Haney will prevail over Vasiliy Lomachenko but the other half thinks the other way around, that the older Lomachenko will defeat the champion Haney. This is a surprising result because the gambling odds released at this point suggest that Haney is the favorite and Loma is the underdog. The odds are even far from even. It means the fight is most probably favoring the younger fighter.

It's hard to predict, as what we have seen that Loma seems to get old overnight against Ortiz. But this might not be case in this fight as the stake are very high. And with such talent, for sure Loma will have to elevated his game against a young champion in Devin Haney. So even our boxing fans here are split as who will win this fight. And if the fight is listed on the sports bookies as well, it might be close with Haney taking a slight lead as betting favorite.

Actually there are already odds released for this fight by some bookies. But I haven't seen the odds of my crypto sports betting platform. But if you try to search for betting odds for this fight, you can already find some. Betfair has odds of 1.44 for Devin Haney and 2.75 for Vasyl Lomachenko. Those odds are not really close. Haney is really the favorite and Lomachenko the underdog. Unlike in the poll here, the odds are saying this is not a 50/50 fight.

Odds are more reliable because those who made it are professionals, they have lots of basis, unlike the poll result here is only based on our personal perception without considering a lot of factors, so it's more bias IMO. Anyway, it's not actually a big deal, the most important is that these two agreed to fight and that's enough to entertain the fans.
1767  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solana takes back top 10 position on: January 18, 2023, 01:09:02 PM
Solana is undoubtedly a serious competitor to Ethereum. Any project has advantages and disadvantages. I think Solana's processing speed is very fast. I like that very much. In contrast, the transaction processing speed of Ethereum is indeed a bit slow, and of course some people may not care about it. Matic can be seen recently. I wonder if the adoption of Polygon network by major companies has attracted the hype of Matic, but I also like Matic and bought it a long time ago. Solana's main focus is scalability and user-friendly applications, making it one of the best options for developers when considering a new blockchain platform other than Ethereum.
New projects like Solana have a great advantage when it comes to transaction fees and speed of confirmation compared to ETH. Therefore, it was expected that some ETH or ERC20 users will take Sol as their option. But if we talk about market potential profit, ETH is still unbeatable. Long-term investors will certainly be choosing ETH over Sol or any other altcoins. But something it was not a smart choice for short-term investors and for traders, they are practical enough when it comes to moving their coins as they could save transactions cost using Solana.
1768  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Future of NFT on: January 18, 2023, 12:43:28 PM
...
I think it's now Nft's turn, just as Bitcoin has been treated as digital waste and its price has been upward.
Tell me what you think
No matter what they do, people will see NFT as low-value projects. They can't be compared to BTC as it was an ambitious attempt and there is no need to do that because NFTs have proven nothing in the first place. If you can afford to invest in hype projects, then invest in these NFTs and so in this way you could also experience of what happened to those investors who trust them in the past.

Bitcoin is really the king in the market and despite any market conditions, this will remain valuable, unlike these NFTs.

1769  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It is ok to sell your Bitcoin. on: January 17, 2023, 09:47:55 PM

So my question is:
~ Do people hodl just because others are HODLing?
~ Why do people hodl rather than sell and buy again when low
~ What is your major reason for HODLing and how do your survive the bear market?

In this crypto world, you as a holder can decide what you gonna do with your Bitcoin. But if you asked why people HOLD their Bitcoin? That is probably because they have something wanted to achieve. As for long-term holders, selling is just an option for them, they might be in need of money for some emergencies or they already get what they want.

In this volatile market, holding is necessary. You could only understand if you are already in the position. Buy, hold, and Sell - I guess you are familiar with this strategy.
1770  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin hits 20,000$ again, what is the reason? on: January 17, 2023, 01:05:28 PM
Bitcoin has indeed hit above $21k in January, this is not new to me as the new year comes with new possibilities. If you remember, last year was turbulent for the coin as inflation and global economic woes plagued it. Now, the inflation figures are now subsiding, and so is the world economy having more hope daily. These are the major reasons why BTC is appreciating in value, and more are to be seen because the market sentiment through technical analysis is now bullish in the long-term disposition.
Bitcoin has no inflation because no additional coins can be created. This year we are likely to see a rebound because the price has been falling for a very long time. But I wouldn't be sure about the long term, because the world situation is still not stable. I think we are going to see a fall yet.
That 1 year passed is not a very long time for me, I was thinking about the 2018-2020 bear season, that gonna be considered very long...That is why we should not be confident enough that this current pump will be an indication of recovery going to bull season. We can't just forget that we already reached almost $25k last year but it drops back again hitting the bottom price. Whatever will be the reason for these pumps, I did bother not to dig into it - I was just thinking about the volatility of the market.
1771  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: betting against the Public, is this strategy working? on: January 17, 2023, 05:46:35 AM
I heard this strategy working but I like to know based on your experience if this is working.

For those who don't know about this strategy, you can read here to educate yourself.
https://www.wsn.com/betting-guide/betting-against-public/

Also, this website is providing details about public bets, I'm not sure how accurate it is, but we can use this as a reference since I haven't found another one. You can also comment if you some reliable sites.

https://www.actionnetwork.com/nba/public-betting
Yes but not always, you know betting is a game of luck so your betting against the public or fading the public does not mean anything, but the day your luck shine you win and the day have bad luck the same thing (lose) will still occur. Yes this the first time I am seeing and hearing this term. well it is good method to fake the majority to win a game. when everyone think that they would win the bet and instead of you to join them and play the same lane with them, you bet the opposite, and when everyone is crying, you are laughing.

It does mean anything if the game is rig or the sport itself. That betting against the public words was created because bookmakers are so smart, they will set up a line that is very attractive to the public while in reality it's overvalued, means the actual chance of hitting is low.
1772  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 17, 2023, 05:18:37 AM
Either way, the Lakers should call a timeout and nothing else. That was around 10 secs. left and lots of time to make a good play.
The Lakers are down by 1 and no one from the coaching staff even advises their players to call a timeout. They blew that opportunity and chances to win the game. I don't know why they thought that time and didn't decide to call a timeout.
I want the close game though that both teams managed to perform where there are lots of exchange of score leads happened.
Maybe that is due to the inexperience of the coach and his staff. But Lebron was also in the court, he could have called the time out himself since he is the most veteran player in there. Anyway, if they called a time out, they can set up an offense but the defense of Philly will also set up. Maxey and other defenders will be on court and it may be harder to execute.
Now, I really doubt the capabilities of the Lakers coaching staff. It is not yet playoffs and they are not able to make the proper calls already. That is too bad.

It seems as though the coaching staff of the Lakers has no idea what they are supposed to be doing. There are times when you look at the coaches and wonder what they are thinking. They are able to make decisions and feel as if they have a plan in place. However, that is not the case with the Los Angeles Lakers. In my opinion, the coaching staff of the Lakers looks like they are just doing things and hoping for the best.

He is doing that is right in his view, but the strategy just failed, so we are like blaming him for a long decision making. However, this regular season still has more games to be played, I'm sure if he will continously fail the management and the fans, then we cannot expect him to still do the job next season. Right now, the Lakers are in a bad spot, well, there's always an excuse, and that is Davis being unhealthy to play.
1773  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it safe to buy now? on: January 16, 2023, 09:52:31 PM
I observed that the cryptocurrency market is a kind of green at the moment, but as a beginner, I still find it difficult to tell when the market is actually bullish. I will appreciate any advice from fellow community members concerning this current situation because I'm considering to buy some coins but finding it difficult to decide on which coin to give a trail.

Just a kind advice, the risk is mine.

I will tell you that some investors are preferred to buy crypto when they can see an uptrend because they think that it will be the beginning of the bull season and it never makes them hold long in order to make money. If you have the gut and interest in buying crypto, don't wait that it moves higher, don't wait that the price of Bitcoin will reach $25k otherwise, you miss the opportunity.
Just only buy any of the top 10 coins in the market excluding stablecoins, and it will guarantee your safety. Might it drop but I was certain that it recover and give you no losses as long as you will hold them.
1774  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to profit from altcoins collapses? on: January 16, 2023, 09:27:15 PM
Is it possible to profit from collapses of altcoins? Do you have any ideas how to?
The dumping market isn't the end of crypto but rather consider this as an opportunity to start. Many people are buying during the bear season because they believe in the market recovery which is actually what they have seen in the past. You can make similar to this if you want to make money from here. Stop thinking that the market will die as it won't for sure. Take a picture of what it happened in the past so you can also have an idea of what you gonna do next. But this only happen when you have the courage and trust in crypto.
1775  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: January 16, 2023, 12:29:59 PM
It appears that Tank vs. King Ry will end very much similar to Crawford vs. Spence. They avoid each other because they are afraid that losing would affect their attractiveness to promoters and lower their demanding price during contract negotiations. This is very bad for the fans and very bad for the sport of boxing. The best boxers should be fighting against the other best boxers. Boxing's only chance for the greatest superfights on 2023 might only be from Naoya Inoue.

I don't know if both are being really protected by their promoters, or the boxers themselves are afraid to have their 0 gone. We've seen a lot of great boxers, who lost their 0 and yet still the cash cow, for instance Canelo Alvarez or even Manny Pacquaio. I think still boils down to money and the purse split and which network are going to carry this fight.

On the flipside though, and we should also take this into consider, on the second week of February, Gervonta Davis will have to appear in court for his 14 misdemeanor motor vehicle violations 2 years ago. I think this will have a big effect whether this fight will push through or not in April as it will entail Davis to have jail time for a hit and run case.

That's being greedy, they know that once a boxer losses and will not be able to come back, their career might be over early. These two are still young, the have the potential to retire undefeated, but are they not thinking that boxing are entertainment? If champions and undefeated boxers will all act like that, then this boxing industry will die sooner or later.
1776  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How do you feel about market recovery on: January 13, 2023, 09:08:43 PM
Hello dearies!

Something came into my mind and I decided to asked here to see the mind of everyone here towards the market.
Few days ago, there have been a sudden change about the entire crypto market which gradually drive bitcoin from $16k to $19k plus, could it be that the bull has started this early year without getting into the bitcoin halving or could it be there is a positive news concerning there entire cryptos?
There are lot of post I have been reading all this while the majority of them were pointing out to be after bitcoin halving.

Just one last more,  how do you feels with the market? Do you feels you have been left out or possibly you wanna make a turn to buy now since it hasn't touched $20k yet?

We are still in the bear market OP but I never feel worried about the market situation. We can say that we are not yet recovering as the price of Bitcoin is still below $20k but never I think we drop more. You have read about halving and many people are talking about it because it is expected that the bull market will come next to it. That is why they are more excited to see it happen again and they are preparing and accumulating more coins to make ready for the said big crypto event before the surge begins. Don't skip to do that as well, the opportunity is knocking on you now.
1777  Economy / Speculation / Re: Starting to Think The Bottom May Be Close? on: January 13, 2023, 01:25:55 PM

I have been thinking over the last few days that the bottom for Crypto may be closer than we think? After all the FUD and bad economic news, it does seem that $16k was very solid for Bitcoin. I was just reading this post that I came across on Twitter: https://cryptochiefs.io/crypto-outlook-2023-is-the-crypto-winter-nearing-its-end/

What they are saying does make sense. Especially about the Fed Pivot, as I think the rises will be paused very soon. I think the economic situation will improve dramatically over the next 12 months.
Bitcoin will recover even if these people will never support crypto. The winter is likely to have an end, that is my opinion. We are moving forward to face the next market cycle which is the bull season. Bitcoin had overcome many market crises in the past and still makes it soaring high. That it keeps my spirit to invest Bitcoin more rather than waiting when the price to rally back.
Quote
This leads me to the question... so I need to start accumulating more heavily? LOL
If that will please you and you think it was comfortable, then make do it. Don't worry about the dip nor think about it every day as it only bothered you to make good decisions.
1778  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Criteria of a good gambler on: January 13, 2023, 12:55:27 PM
Everything you said is correct mate, as long as the only important thing for a gambler is to be responsible in playing gambling, first of all, don't send emotions that are the main enemy of a gambler.

Because I only play gambling 1 or twice a week, win or lose, stop immediately and come back the next week. That's just the routine I do.
Responsible gamblers know how to limit their time and only use their extra money only. But as I see, most gamblers gamble more when they win until they lose all of their money and leave nothing left in their pocket. A good habit like you should be taken as an example to others in order to avoid addiction but too unfortunate that many gamblers lose control of their emotions and send them to addiction.
1779  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should I keep my BNB or Sell it? on: January 13, 2023, 11:33:21 AM
Hi, I'm new to here. So just want to ask your help or guide.

I have currently 800$ worth BNB. These are got from NFT that I sold back months ago that I got from airdrop. So what i need to know should I convert it to stable coin or should I invest it for bitcoin? Because my friends say that BNB don't have a future anymore. So I'm fully worry about this.
I would say that just HOLD until such time that ATH will come.
Your friend is not your true friend, they are making you a fool by thinking that BNB is a shitcoin. Just make your search rather than listen to your friend and don't let them ruin your plan.

Perhaps, BNB is performing so well despite the bear situation which means that many people supported this project.
Hold it until the next bull season to make them know that they are wrong with their assumptions.
1780  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you still holding your coins #btc on: January 13, 2023, 11:01:17 AM

2023 is going to be another year of major speculation on the rate on when we are going to experience another bull run and eventually reaching another ATH.

2022 is a bloody year for crypto and 2023 might be the same. We can't expect the recovery will be easier and come fast as we are still facing the huge -market challenge - war and price inflation. I really don't want to think about negative this year but I couldn't forget also the previous bear season where it takes several years before we see the green color of the market. Of course, ATH is not impossible but if we think it comes this year, that is totally impossible.

Even though it takes so long to wait, I'm still holding no matter what.
