1762  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A few random questions on: April 16, 2023, 10:26:08 PM
I don't want to open a new topic for every question I have so please just answer them here.

1) BTC stands at 27200 euros today. But the purchasing price on Binance says 28000. Is that difference of 800 the buying fee? And is that normal?

2) Binance is currently under attack by governments through lawsuits. Are they legally required to hand out our personal details to the government? If this is not the case at the moment, it must be the case soon. And when the government knows which cryptos we own, it is only a matter of time before they tax us and basically confiscate our wealth.
1. Every exchange has their own difference with the pricing but they're not that far of. But you see the difference in buying and selling so basically, the allowance or gap you see isn't the fee but just actual market prices.
2. Yes, that's why they're asking our details. Because they've been asked by the government to do that and once upon a time, they don't require it and level 1 accounts (no kyc) has a limit per se but then it was removed and everyone was required to pass on kyc. And your understanding about that is right.

I am going to buy BTC this week and I am very curious to see how my bank will react. MiCA law will be discussed in Europe this week. I am curious to see if politicians will succeed in demanding a tax on BTC earnings or holdings.
AFAIK, there have been some tough laws in there and I don't know about that MiCA law there but if you're going to do the transfer through bank as what I've heard before, you might have some problems with that but hopefully it becomes successful.
1763  Economy / Economics / Re: Does Banks really manipulates us? on: April 16, 2023, 07:11:09 PM
overall my question is why banks are being accused as matrix and the investors are the ones behind all this?
Banks are just part of it and they're all tools for the money to flow in the entire economy. And when we generalize investors, they're not just playing the role of being an investor but they've got some other businesses that they're attaching through the investments that they have or through having the direct connection with the banks. And there's the reality that we can't and even it gets twisted, the fact will remain that there will be people that are on the top of the chain which are the elites or rich people, the average and poor people and all of us are consumers and basically the ones that gives more to the society with our contribution as being part of the whole chain of this society.
1764  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Number Of Bitcoin Millionaires Doubles In 2023 on: April 16, 2023, 05:20:09 PM
If the basis is bitinfocharts, I think that's not a lot of details to be said of that bitcoin millionaires have been doubled for this year. It can be that those wallet addresses comes from exchanges and they've distributed it to another addresses just for them to have it scattered as that's what the majority does. But going to the main point, I do agree that there have been a lot of new bitcoin millionaires during the past years and one more thing is that there will be more bitcoin millionaires for the next years as per the bull market each cycle runs.
1765  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin and Gambling on: April 15, 2023, 10:41:06 PM
There are these "experts" that are obviously bitcoin haters and dislikes it for so many reasons. They're even calling bitcoin as a sort of gamble and anyone who invests on it is considered "betting" their money on it. Well, let those people think what bitcoin and gambling are but we all knew what bitcoin actually is and that won't change our minds. It's just an overwhelming response that they can't take some sort of innovation that can be seen all in just one asset. A cryptocurrency that has its own payment system, ledger for its records, being a store of value and the call for decentralization as its nature and characteristic.
1766  Economy / Economics / Re: G20 Meet - Always consider Crypto as problem to the monetary world. New update on: April 15, 2023, 08:49:44 PM
it's quite funny to see these boomers say that crypto is an asset that is unstable and unsafe to invest in, some even say that this is a fraud .. but on the other hand they seem scared of the increasing number of adopters of crypto and don't want their product (fiat) is losing its users.. if they believe that crypto is an asset that is not fit for adoption, why should they fear that adopters of crypto are increasing??  LMAO
Funny as it is and that's because they can no longer ignore that it's overtaking some other traditional assets that they know and compared with the growth that bitcoin to those, it's incomparable and undeniable that the gain that it has got is impressive.
They're making it look that they fear the increasing adoption rate of bitcoin and the people that starts to use and invest on it but, they're trying to make way so that they can still capitalize and benefit from the current situation.

Quote
India's Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman participates in a news conference at the 2023 Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group and "The G20 and its members agree that it's not going to be possible to have an independent, standalone country dealing with the crypto assets," the minister added.
Are they sure about this and haven't seen those countries that don't even need the consultation of theirs and just have accepted and made it as a legal tender? Even not a legal tender but just by being neutral and allowing its penetration and adoption on those countries without having trouble thinking about such.
1767  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Pretend hack on: April 15, 2023, 04:02:01 PM
Thanks for sharing. This is another way to spread FUD and now the other manipulators will have the idea on how they can make other project down based on the market that they have. Honestly, this is quite new to me despite all of the FUD that I'm seeing, I mean the strategy of how they can spread the false news like wildfire. That's why in every news that we're seeing whether it's from a reputable publisher or not, we all need to validate and verify if the details are correct and accurate. Especially that we're about to enter in the bull run, culprits might just do this trick for the projects that they think as a competitor to the project that they're working on or just want to fail.

1769  Economy / Economics / Re: Does anyone notice the "investment cost" ? on: April 14, 2023, 11:49:33 PM
What do you think of all the interval losses from the investment gains ? Please let me know.
That's part of being a trader and an investor, if you're not prepared to miss those gains and have them yours as losses then that means that it is not for you. Every time you think of those missed chance and you do no action on it, this will make you feel regret at most times. But you know what's the best choice is just to be a holder at these times so you won't be taking the whole pressure that you'll get from the market and at the same time you just chill out while waiting for that gain and by that, you won't have those interval losses. Well, when you enter this market, you need to have a plan of getting in and out but for the most of us here, there's no getting out as this is an unstoppable journey and this bitcoin(train) will just keep on pushing forward.
1770  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Recommendations to store my seed phrase!! on: April 14, 2023, 10:38:03 PM
Never think of putting that on an online storage or spreadsheets or emails, just don't. You already have the ideas on how to keep it in the best way like having it on a safe vault and have it written on a piece of paper. Mine was written on a piece of paper and that paper came from the original Ledger's provided form. I have my storage like a small pouch or bag that's not too hot in the eyes of many people but it's kept inside where I can bring anytime and anywhere I can. Dog tags are good but don't make it obvious that it's a seed or recovery phrases, there are many people now that's starting to learn about private keys, seeds and recovery phrases.
1771  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How true is this statement? on: April 14, 2023, 04:13:51 PM
the longer you use bitcoin as your unit of account, the more you begin to realize that it doesn't make sense to make any long term investments with your bitcoin savings.
This does make sense to me because you don't want to spend your bitcoin with another investment as bitcoin itself is your actual long term investment already. But this depends if you're willing to lose that part of your holding for something else.

not even in some the best performing stocks from the past few years. They're all down in terms of bitcoin.
Well, it's the thought that counts but honestly I guess that the majority will agree to that because bitcoin is considered as the best performing asset within just a short range and period of time. But you'll never know if some tech stocks will skyrocket and more than the gain that bitcoin will and does.

[..] I thought bitcoin wallet is best for storing long term investment, since no physical companies are to be trusted 100%, people uses bitcoin wallet to established good investment plans but seeing lead to ask questions of why and how true, which means no where is safe for life investment.
Bitcoin wallet is for bitcoin and bitcoin is what we're considering as the best long term investment. And if the worry is all about the safety of the bitcoin that you're keeping, there are a lot of ways to protect yourself from such worries because all you need is to be educated and aware of the possible threats that may come to you.
1772  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: we don't have proper education on bitcoin. on: April 14, 2023, 02:21:47 PM
Please correct me if I am wrong
Even in today's modern world, except for a few people in Europe-America, the general public of the entire world does not have a proper understanding of Bitcoin. Sad Sad Except European-American, anyone who have a little idea about Bitcoin also have misconceptions. Due to this problem, many people are unable to invest in a great platform like Bitcoin even if they want to. This problem may not seem like a big deal to many, but think about third world countries. A sad reality is, in my country 80-90% of the population are not familiar with Bitcoin.
Is there any way to solve this problem?
You're making it look like it's an entire problem of the world but you don't worry about things that you can't control. Look at those people that you've said that the little knowledge they have in bitcoin is also making a misconception towards them. That's where you can't control people's thought and ideas towards bitcoin. It's since the time when it's known on its early days that bitcoin was no good and has no future at all. IMHO, most of the people that have started out knowing bitcoin are the real curious people and they don't depend on others people encouraging words and they're not enticed upon hearing the word about bitcoin. There are ways to solve this but you can't just don't know if those ways are going to be effective and that might be another problem to you and could bring another disappointment, let the adoption be a thing in nature and we'll get to see that good news maybe in a year or two. Because this state that we're enjoying right now was also a thought and thing of the past by most bitcoin people.
1773  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammed by Joon aka NetkaJoon on: April 14, 2023, 12:00:15 PM
It seems that the accused person is guilty by just deleting all of the threads that he's made.

The fact that they deleted their service threads is very suspect. I have tagged the manager while we wait for an explanation. If they weren't guilty, why in the world would they delete their service thread? Makes no sense to me.
Exactly, he can come and explain the accusation against him so that he can clear himself. But if there's no explanation about this and he won't come then that speaks clearly that he's the one that's guilty and OP's accusation is real. However, it's still unclear to me how was your transaction to him and how you've lost 2 btc on/with him.
1774  Economy / Economics / Re: James Zhong captured for $3.4 billion worth stolen bitcoin- USA cracks hesit on: April 13, 2023, 11:34:33 PM
That's a nice catch for them but especially that there's hundreds of millions to billions money that wasn't taxed, they really gonna run after Zhong. That 2 years of being sentenced in prison is just going to be a quick vacation on him and I doubt it that the FED have actually seized all of his fortunes(bitcoins) when they've raided his house. But if he's not really wise enough then there's still probably a few left on him or he has sent and passed it onto his family to take care of those funds.

He'd probably cooperated with the government and pleaded guilty, meaning, he has given all the access and private keys to the stash of his BTC and his computer so that the authorities can trace everything on who's who he deal with in the past.
Yeah, usually that's what they give for cooperating voluntarily and making the case easier for them to be solved. Lesser sentence and there's probably a huge bail that has been paid on this one + the taxes he needs to get paid but only if there's anything left for him.
1775  Economy / Exchanges / Re: XGO on: April 13, 2023, 10:02:35 PM
What have you heard about this resource? https://xgo.com/
I can't recall if I heard them before but then I'll settle that they're new to me and I think I saw them post an announcement thread this day.

This site has the ability to trade on margin, which is very important to me. Binance has become dangerous lately, and there is very little information about xgo.
It's not just them that offer margin trading, I think almost every centralized exchange does that. And if you think that Binance has become dangerous, can you state what's the reason for making you think that they are? Because even if there have been some negative news about them in some particular regions, I still have got no problem in using them.
1776  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why did you chose bitcoin? on: April 13, 2023, 08:18:44 AM
Why do we have this so much trust on bitcoin that it not die easily? That bitcoin is a long term investment with confidentiality. Why do you chose to trust bitcoin over any other investment?
It's because that it's truly decentralized. No government can control it even though the exchanges and other fin tech companies can be held and controlled by them. No one can control bitcoin's network and blockchain and that's why I've chosen this over any other investments. I've got some altcoins mainly in Ethereum but majority of the rest of the altcoins that I've invested in were failures. And proven the record of bitcoin that even if a lot of countries that have said that it's banned on them, did bitcoin cared for it? Well, the community didn't cared and worried of it even an inch and it just keeps on recovering no matter what FUD and negative news was in the market. It's actually bound to go to the top, thanks to halving and limited supply which makes its great attribute for being scarce.

I visited unijoin's clearnet and tor mirror and just found a little detail that needs to be updated. As said on the OP, the minimum amount to be mixed is 0.001BTC.

Currently, the minimum amount to mix is: 0.001 BTC.

Whilst on the website's FAQ with both clearnet and tor mirror, it says. 0.000BTC.

What Is Minimum Amount To Mix?
The minimum amount to mix Bitcoins is variable as it depends on the USD value. Currently, the minimum amount to mix is:

Bitcoin: 0.000 BTC
1778  Economy / Reputation / Re: I proudly 7 years as a Bitcoin investor. on: April 12, 2023, 11:34:24 PM
So from that 0.9 BTC that you've recovered, how many was left on your holdings? But before I forget it, no one has yet to congratulate you for staying and being a bitcoin investor for this long. I know that there are that are longer than us but this feels like the time has flown so fast that we haven't noticed that you've been on this space for 7 years. Too many things have happened, the ups and downs, the roller coaster journey that you've got. I'm just a curious guy to know how actually you're holding right now from that retrieval but you're not required to answer that and it's already enough to know that you're still holding up to this point. And by the way, more years to come.
1779  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns [Last update: 09-April-23] on: April 12, 2023, 10:33:30 PM
We've got a lot of updates from the OFNP campaigns, so here goes the recent ones that should be moved to CFNP.

Bestchange signature campaign finally filled their one slot.

Thank you, everyone, for your applications! We have gone through each of them, and should we say, selecting the participant was no easy work.
However, we have made our choice.

[banned mixer] signature campaign is full again.

No open slots available.

We might see some openings later on as some campaigns are about to go through the round end of their week after this day.
1780  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Is Blockchain.info a scam? on: April 12, 2023, 09:13:09 PM
It isn't a scam but it is not a recommended wallet to use and a wallet to keep your bitcoins. When I was still using it, the network was clog-free and there's no problem about the fees but then it's still an online wallet that has brought problem to many users. So, from .info domain to .com and still nothing has changed from its service although they are also upgrading some of its features but it has never enticed me to be back using it. While the fee is being determined by the network if it's empty or not, if it's empty then the fees won't be that much and you have to take note that these wallets are also taking some little commission for the fees that they ask. You can set priorities and increase the fee for the speed or adjust it a little back if you're patient enough to wait until your transaction is confirmed. Your problem is much better and solvable than of those that they can longer recover their wallets there even if they've got the recovery phrases because the retrieval process has changed for them.
