Huh.. so the bizzare thing is I do not have a modified BIOS, but running

the patcher fixed the problem..  Huh

Thank you all very much for your inputs
Never mind, some problem with signature maybe this patcher fix all these problems. Only there are cons, but not for mining.
If you don't want this just run again the patcher or uninstall drivers and install new one it will over write.

You need install patch

It's because of modified bios.

Do you recommend the sapphire nitro+ 570 4gb/8gb ? or is there a better option for the 570s ?
Not really maybe cheaper. I like Asus Strix, best cooling I've ever seen, so silent, but no memory heatsink. They are almost all same. If you are lucky you will have Samsung memory.

Aorus RX580 8GB Samsung - has anyone had any luck getting the hash rate above 27 MH/S?  If so, can you share your settings/BIOS mod?

Thanks.

I will order 6x rx 480 nitro + and i want to be sure if it will work on ASRock Fatal1ty Z87 Killer without any problems  maybe you know some cheapper mobo for 6 cards on 1150 what is not out of stock. thanks for help
You are buying expensive RX 480 Nitro+ and you can't spend 50 bucks more on the mobo?
1766  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 4x PCIe risers on 1 molex cable? on: May 23, 2017, 03:22:34 PM
I would say no.

This is an advanced move in the sense that you are absolutely sure that your cards are setup correctly (undervolt,CC,MC) in terms of power draw EVERYTIME prior to running the mining S/W such that you won't overload the cable.

I would only do this if I were waiting for a repair part.

As an extreme example from a mistake of mine, I had a sapphire 580X nitro+ LE on quiet mode. I didn't set it up and this card runs 1411/2000 out of the box. These settings consume about 2X the power that I normally run it at. Several of these on one molex cable would have cooked it. I generally avoid actions which require continuous perfection in any mining setup.

There are many posts in this forum and in the ethereum forum which discuss more precisely cable power limits.
Molex should have 11A max, that's not even for 2 cards Cheesy I read very different posts, one say 2 cards per 1 molex other say 3 is no problem. I think it very depends on PSU and cable quality. I think Corsair should be very good one, but I will buy third molex modular cable so I can run 2 cards per 1 cable. I will also try 3 cards for test because my mobo should run up to 8 gpus...
Thx guys.

Hi, I`m also with the same cards, but can't push them above 26mh. Can you share what you did to achieve 30+mh.

1768  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Rebrand - RX570 / RX580 - Official Thread on: May 23, 2017, 03:12:41 PM
Thanks for this! I'll get right on it! Power consumption will probably remain higher until... a MSI issue. Even -100 in afterburner doesn't get the cards under 125 mining ether alone. I was thinking of clocking the GPUs in Claymore itself, see if the cards will finally accept a lower power draw. These beasts have 2 x 8 pin power cables though, and with a single one the system won't boot regrettably.
6 strix cards are on the way here, excited!
Strix are very good, only the memory cooling :/ But no problem so far. My Strix have Elpida memory they aren't bad, but Samsung is much better. But you might be lucky and get Samsung. All Asus Dual have Samsung what I have, but there is again no cooling for memory and the cooling system isn't that good as Strix one. Strix is absolutly silent!

2x 8pin really? My RX 470 Strix has 1x 6pin and RX 480 Dual has 1x 8 pin. Only 2x 6pin has my R9 380 Nitro.
1769  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 4x PCIe risers on 1 molex cable? on: May 23, 2017, 02:02:17 PM
4 raisers on one molex cable will either melt your cable , or molex cable socket on psu. 2 is safe , i did some 3 raisers but for first days i was checking cable constantly for temps , 4 will eventualy melt
Thx, so I will buy 1 more molex cable. Or do you know which sata adapters are safe?
1770  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Rebrand - RX570 / RX580 - Official Thread on: May 23, 2017, 12:10:42 PM
The newest one doesn't work on my old cards, probably because they have modded bioses, does anyone know how to get them to work?

1771  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / 4x PCIe risers on 1 molex cable? on: May 23, 2017, 12:09:29 PM
I've bought molex risers and those sata adapters aren't looking quality ones. I have Corsair HX1200 and there are 2x molex cables each have 4 molex connectors.
Can I use 1 molex cable to 4 risers? Or it's better buy 1 additional molex cable for 10 bucks? I have 4 sata cables but they aren't good what I heard.
Thanks.
1772  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Rebrand - RX570 / RX580 - Official Thread on: May 23, 2017, 11:19:42 AM
@Mattthev,

Did you paste the uber mix in both 1750 and 2000 as I did?
I wonder if keeping the original 1750 might be better.

My only problem is voltage/power consumption. But that seems to be a current issue with the MSI X+ gaming cards, sadly.

Dual mining is poor too, about 25 hashes if I lower power consumption to 150/160 per card. Mining only Ether 30+ hashes is 'easy' with the uber mix.
No only to 2000. I have RX 480 Asus Dual 8GB it has standard 8000MHz clock. Also it's safer if something goes wrong with the timing it will only crash when the memory is on the max. If you have 7000MHz so you are totaly fine only if you overclock it may crash.
I don't have MSI, now I'm using only Asus Dual and Asus Strix - the dual is very cheap but Strix have much better cooling. Also neither of them have memory cooling so it's better use performance timings instead of higher clocks.
I suppose you have RX 5xx series? They have bad TDP you can try lower it in bios. Or unlock voltage control in Afterburner or whatever you use and try -50mV. Asus Dual can go to max -100mV (the max I can downvolt, it need bios mod I think). The MSI Afterburner shows after lowering voltages and overclock 1350MHz/2100MHz use only about 80-90W I think I said max TDP to 120W in bios.
1773  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Rebrand - RX570 / RX580 - Official Thread on: May 23, 2017, 08:10:25 AM

Does memory errors really affect mining performance? I have 3 Msi 580 Armor 8Gs with Samsung memory that Ive been struggling to push it above 30mh without 2200mhz memory. I have copied 1:1750 straps to 1:2000. Currently doing 1250/2200 and it gives me 30.5mh, even though it is giving me like 10-50k memory errors/min. Power consumption is like 87W from GPUZ and around 140W combining the two values in HWinfo. Is my power consumption good? I can't get it below 0.938v though.
http://www.overclock.net/t/1604567/polaris-bios-editing-rx5xx-rx4xx
Find performance timings and use Uber Mix 3.1.
The best for Samsung memory. I'm mining XMR and this gave me 850h/s instead of 750h/s also with lower memory clocks only 2100MHz.

Hey guys, what drivers are you using currently? Im getting an MSI Rx 580 soon and I would like to add it to my rig of RX 480/470 with modded bioses, what drivers shall I install? I'm currently on 16.x

The newest one, but I'm mining XMR so it depends... I'm not sure if RX 5xx is working with 16.x versions.
1774  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: what MOBO for mining? on: May 23, 2017, 08:05:47 AM
Can anyone confirm functionality of these:

Really struggling to find a cpu that has concrete reviews that is also in stock haha

The MSI should be good, they say it's for mining crypto currencies. I didn't find ppl use it, so I've bought Asus Prime Z270 P instead. There are lot of videos with this board about mining mainly in russian. This week I will test it, but I have only 4 GPUs to test with.
I also bought G3930 Celeron, there is no reason to buy better CPU for me, all have same PCIe lines. Or if you want more performance buy Pentium it has HT so about 25% more powerul. If you have lot of money to spend buy i3,i5,i7...
1775  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: what MOBO for mining? on: May 22, 2017, 06:44:46 PM

Is there a difference between the ASUS PRIME Z270-AR and the MSI Z270-A PRO?
Obviously there are more PCIe slots.
1776  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Rebrand - RX570 / RX580 - Official Thread - 30MH ETH on: May 22, 2017, 10:47:41 AM

Hi, thanks for info, this strap and frequencies also worked for me (RX580 Sapphire Nitro+ 8GB Hynix).

I went little bit further and set Core Clock to 1204MHz and Memory Clock at 2200MHz, voltage -74mV.

Now getting 31.0 - 31.1

I'm not sure if 2200Mhz makes difference compare to 2100 for this performance timmings...
I would prefer lower it'll be more stable and also less heat...
1777  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: what MOBO for mining? on: May 21, 2017, 11:35:39 AM
I think you are wrong here.
6 GPUs should not be a problem without messing with the bios.
If you donīt have enough PCIe slots use USB-PCIe risers.

You have to set TOLUD to 3.5 or lower... or enable 4G above.
1778  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: what MOBO for mining? on: May 21, 2017, 11:33:24 AM
I assume that is the prime A with 7 pcie slots?

Also, what seems to be the problem with the z170a gaming pro carbon? I know people ran 7 cards on that one.

Thanks
There is not enough PCIe lines. I also read that there are lot of problems with this chipset. But you can try.

I'm not sure which it is, but the expensive one. I've bought Prime P.
1779  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: what MOBO for mining? on: May 21, 2017, 09:12:24 AM
Is the msi z170a gaming pro carbon any good for 7 rx5xx cards?

If not that one, what other board will support 7 5xx cards?

Thanks
Z170 won't work with 7 gpu. Z270 works. Asus Z270 Prime can run up to 9 gpu.
1780  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Rebrand - RX570 / RX580 - Official Thread on: May 20, 2017, 06:08:40 PM
Hello , i have Sapphire RX 580 Pulse 4GB Hynix memory and it looks like I am the only one that have them . i`m looking for modified bios or straps. 2:1750 to 2000 does nothing .
24.5mh stock which is nice , but  28-29 sound better .
Any help or advice please
