1781  Economy / Lending / Re: In need of BTC for buying mining hardware without collateral. on: June 18, 2014, 12:42:32 AM
I have free electricity, so profit is guaranteed .....  Currently I need 0.5 BTCs to start mining....

Profit is guaranteed, but there's no guarantee you'll pay the lender back. Even if you're legit, you're not even paying interest, so what's the incentive anyone have for loaning you anything? I'd rather use my 0.5 btc to buy the miner myself. Newbs like you don't even think about the other person's perspective.
1782  Economy / Trading Discussion / US Forex legit? on: June 17, 2014, 08:44:03 PM
This isn't involving a trade of bitcoins, but rather currency trades. US FOREX, inc is a company that handles such trades, and they claim to be much cheaper than having banks exchange currencies for you. This could be much cheaper than sending an international bank wire from the US, so does anyone know if this website is legit or not?

1783  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Expedia Accepts Bitcoin on: June 17, 2014, 04:52:33 AM
^ Currently coinbase complies with KYC/AML, and is backed by some pretty big names in the financial market. They're still relatively new for a large company, but they seem pretty stable and reliable already.

There are no big companies that accept bitcoin that does NOT use a btc payment processor. They simply don't have the infrastructure to do it themselves, because processing crypto currency is nothing like Visa/Mastercard.
1784  Economy / Services / Re: "USER" zolace Bounty! on: June 16, 2014, 07:10:59 PM
He needs to be taught a lesson. I do not take well with being accused of fraud. I'm trying to make money on here for extra income, and he is fucking up potential sales now. Where I come from, you don't fuck with another man's hard earned money.

This ain't the way to go about it. You want to teach him a lesson, by purchasing his personal info? How does that teach him a lesson? Unless you're planning to use the personal info to go to his physical location, which could potentially be a criminal offense. He has not scammed you or anything.

I would tread carefully with this sort of thing.
1785  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BitVPS - service issue anyone? on: June 16, 2014, 07:00:45 PM
I messaged rapeghost on here. Anyone have his personal email?  I am trying to get these sites back online for my clients asap. thank you

Not sure if he wants me to pass on his personal info, but I will contact him through instant messaging right now to let him know your concerns.
1786  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Expedia Accepts Bitcoin on: June 16, 2014, 06:56:01 PM
This is good news, just a shame that I rarely find the best offers on expedia

What other travel agencies do you use? I've used expedia on several bookings because I found them to be the cheapest based on a few quick searches.
1787  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BitVPS - service issue anyone? on: June 16, 2014, 06:37:40 PM
You might want to contact rapeghost, I believe he is either a representative, or works for BitVPS. I've personally dealt with him, but not for the BitVPS service.

1788  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Expedia Accepting Bitcoins on: June 16, 2014, 06:25:07 PM
I think everyone has started accepting it  since it's come down in price, right?  I wonder what would happen if Bitcoin went down to like $100/BTC?

And how did you come to this conclusion? Price has nothing to do with merchants accepting bitcoin. Currently most merchants that accept btc as payment, just immediately cash them out to fiat so price does not matter.
1789  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Here is how to make a brain wallet 100 times more secure. on: June 16, 2014, 11:54:23 AM
The reason I completely avoid using brainwallets is because we as humans are not as random as we think. If a word or phrase can be read, then it's not completely random. Even if you have the salt + passphrase format, the "correcthorsebatterystaple" element is still not random. Yes it's more secure, but still not totally random.
1790  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Holiday Inn launched Bitcoin trial in New York on: June 16, 2014, 11:49:54 AM
Yet another well known company jumping on the bitcoin bandwagon. Definitely good to get the crypto name more known. I hope that the FBI auctioning of silkroad coins will even further bring whales into the market.
1791  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Apple Approves Bitcoin Wallets on: June 16, 2014, 11:46:50 AM
There was no regulation for bitcoin. Apple was doing what they had to do to protect themselves. Living is the past and faulting someone for not accepting bitcoin earlier isn't going to help expand Bitcoin into what we want it to be. Now that Apple is allowing bitcoin into their store, why not give praise where it's due? It was a smart decision and everyone will benefit from it.

Ok, so why don't they "protect themselves" again? Nothing has changed for bitcoin since their first ban. I don't believe they even gave users even a few days notice before plucking the apps. And now, they did a complete 180 to support bitcoin again. I'm pretty sure they're accepting bitcoin again is because the backlash that they didn't expect, and this can be seen as a "feature" that will attract bitcoin supporters. It's a business and self-interest decision, but I doubt they could care less about the actual bitcoin.
1792  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for a Loan of Bitcoin on: June 16, 2014, 11:37:30 AM
I'll provide this loan, no LTC collateral required. The reason is because the loan is such a small amount, it'll be pretty stupid to sell yourself out for this amount.

Just post your btc address.
1793  Economy / Lending / Re: LOAN REQUIRED collateral worth 7BTC on: June 16, 2014, 11:33:03 AM
I'm able to provide this loan if another form of collateral was used. I never accept unstable coins as collateral for more stable coins.
1794  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Living in Vegas with Bitcoin on: June 16, 2014, 09:32:34 AM
Catchy title, but what you're asking isn't just limited to Vegas. With the same logic, you can live off of bitcoins ANYWHERE that has a bitcoin ATM.

Vegas' cost of living is actually pretty low, as long as you stay off the strip. I personally think Vegas is overrated. It's glamorous and all, but once you've been there a few times it's just meh...
1795  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Expedia Accepting Bitcoins on: June 16, 2014, 09:21:31 AM
Wow expedia accepting bitcoin is actually pretty huge, as they are one of the larger travel agencies. This will trigger other merchants to also accept bitcoin, otherwise give up the market share.

I've used expedia several times to book trips, and next time will definitely be using btc to pay.
1796  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Apple Approves Bitcoin Wallets on: June 16, 2014, 08:53:40 AM
After apple "bans" bitcoin and caused all sorts of drama, now they support it?

I remember several users pledged to destroy their iphones and recorded it when apple initially banned the use of bitcoin apps. Funny stuff.
1797  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paypal surveying about bitcoin. on: June 15, 2014, 05:38:18 PM
If paypal will accept bitcoin as a form of payment, do you really think they'll do it free? Seeing their exorbitant fees around every corner, they'll want a cut of the profit if they integrate crypto currency.
1798  Economy / Goods / Re: 2009 Toyota Prius - $12k on: June 15, 2014, 11:16:57 AM
What about a Tesla? I took the P85 for a testdrive the other day.  Very fun.  What are your thoughts on it?

Teslas are the shitz. My housemate has one, and now it makes me wanting one so bad. One thing holding me back is that there is this fear if I run out of battery while on a road trip, then I'm fuked. There are not many charge stations as there are gas stations. At least with a Prius, it also runs on gas in case you're in a pinch.
1799  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: University Accepts Bitcoin on: June 15, 2014, 05:06:15 AM

This is nothing new. When btc was on the huge rally last year, I believe there were some news articles about universities accepting btc already. Same with Virgin Galactic, accepting btc to launch people to Mars haha. I thought that was pretty ridiculous, but it was a catcher for headlines.
1800  Economy / Lending / Re: Am about to go homeless, could use some help on: June 14, 2014, 07:55:51 PM
You do realize that money is the problem?  Not me, right?
Then why are you begging for some?

How about we aren't forced to survive by working wage slave jobs?  How about we stop destroying our planet?  2/3rds of the resources gone in 50 years and pretty fucking shitty.

How about we all grow our own food and look out for each other as communities?  Why not have your own business within your house free of charge?  Or if you'd prefer, join an open, collective group, that is looking to advance humanity, together.

I'm setting the example.  I hope you all will follow and we can create our own networked society that basis off love and sharing instead of greed.

Why are you living like a king in a hotel when you have no money? Those hotels and houses that you live under were built by corporate slaves. Same with your guitar. All the food you eat, all grown and harvested by either hard working farmers, or industrial machines. By eating any of the food you BUY, or living under the roof, you're supporting the very thing you preach against. If you are true to your words, strip naked and go live in the jungle, where it's free from any human modernization.

I hate to break it to you, but the easter bunny ain't real either. Time to graduate from Kindergarten.
