Wow, 1.35BTC deposit to have you part exchanged while it's still under warranty?
I don't know what to say here.
They've been ripped off before by sending replacements but never getting the defective one back. Leading some people to lie about it being defective to steal a second one. Don't you have to send it back first to get a replacement? Not with Sushi. He offers advanced RMA, where you receive the new one first after paying the full price deposit.

No, that doesn't sound like a converter cable. I want to convert my 8 pin CPU cable to 6 pin PCI-E, so I can plug it directly into the PCI-E connector on the board. The extension cables are for CPU, where the 12V lines are on the same side as the clip and are yellow too, so the polarity was not wrong. But when I stripped the cable at the end to go into the connector the wires inside looked really thin and flimsy. The markings on the cable says 18AWG and 80 degrees, but I have a 18AWG cable and the wire inside is really think compared to these.
Yeah, Do not use those. You got ripped off by One Hung Lo mfg co. I had bought some PCI extender cables, when I stripped it there were ONLY 5 TINY STRANDS of copper inside the wired labeled 18AWG! They were more like 26AWG. I took them back to microcenter and finally got my money back after making a stink of the safety hazard these posed. Dont go cheap on extender cables, sadly, you cannot trust those off brands, they can burn your house down. Maybe Cablez can make some for you? I will definitely return them, but I need to act quick as my miners are idle. I can make them myself, but I am looking for a ready made solution, that I can just buy quick. Any ideas? CYPER.. I just saw your posts, and I had the same issue you have with the VS650; using PCIE for one blade, and needed to use the ATX12V 8-pin connector. And I also got those fake "18 AWG" extensions, which when I stripped them had just a few strands, so I luckily refrained from using them. The way I solved it is a little unorthodox, but it worked. I just FORCED the 8-pin connector into the Antminer's PCIE 6-pin connector the "wrong" way around, i.e. with the correct polarity (yellow wires inside, clip over the edge of the board), with the 2 extra pins just hanging outside the connector. It worked well for a while, and no wires overheating or anything. However, a few days later, I started finding that the PSU would shut off while I'm away. It seems PSU is not happy with either the large current or large power. When I notched down the Antminer's speed to 300 MHz instead of 350 MHz, it now seems to be stable. Seems like the PSU is just really crappy and not really supplying the 600W it claims it can on 12V. I'm thinking of using more 12V wires from the PSU, from other cables (SATA, 4-pin Molex, and the main motherboard connector), and screw them into the screw connectors on the Antminer, so the power for each blade would be spread across 6 wires instead of just 3. Has anyone tried something like this? Would this make any difference to the PSU's shut-off protection circuit? Also, I've read that in some cases, if there is no load on the 5V lines, then the voltage drops further on the 12V triggering the shut-off. Could this be the case here? With CX600M I just used the single PCI-E cable at stock for both blades. For overclocking one blade was using the PCI-E cable and for the other I just cut and stripped the CPU cable = 4x 12V lines is more than enough for a single overclocked blade. I've done the forced plugging with my Jupiter on CoolerMaster V1000 where I plugged more PCI-E cables into the CPU ports on the back of the PSU, but never tried it with the Ant.

This is still in their news section: "Shipment begins in Q1/Q2 of 2014". I'm surprised that hasn't been "revised" to reflect the reality that Q1 was just a teaser. Btw, who all still has an order with them? I've seen a lot of refunds here, so I'm curious who is still sticking to their order and why.
I am still keeping mine, hoping that I will receive physical miners, which I can mine with for a while and then sell them on Ebay or sell directly on Ebay. But it looks more and more plausible that we will all receive virtual hashrate. Also I really don't like their attitude towards their customers. I sent them an email with questions + called them and got exactly what I expected: a lot of words and phrases, but not real information. Phone support does not even want to answer the question: Is 1st July considered late? Sam is nowhere to be found and would rather be hit by a train, than speak with any of his customers. Bitcoinorama is also nowhere to be found. Basically communication and information is totally lacking and they don't care a single bit.

hi, my miner is powerd on, and i can connect via webinterface. but the antminer is not hashing. In the syslog i see that the ntp is not syncing: but i changed it already to: so why it keeps trying the preconfigured ntp ?? i rebooted the antminer and i dis- and reconnected to PSU. I have a "bequiet pure power 530W psu", it s connected to the antminer via 2 x pcie. kindly bitsta Disable the NTP servers.

It looks like the fan on one of my Antminers has died. I've tried two power supplies, and it's been in my unheated garage so a fan is barely even required. Only had it about two weeks
Has anyone else's fan died?
Fan is PWM, so if the miner is cold it will not spin.

From Sushi: also, rejecting the packages at the customs will not earn you the refund either. will cost you additional $750 USD in tax for the factory to receive it due to the chinese tax

Just received my 2 Antminers, the last UPS "cheap declared" batch.
So Bitmain declares the full value now? How much?
|
|
|
dont blame shipper for customs duty and tax
Well, turns out i have to pay 170,36€ PER miner with DHL. UPS only asks me about 26€. A total of +3000€ extra to pay, nice way to ROI. Last order EVER directly trough bitmain, that's for sure. What was the declared value on the invoice?

Well, they denied me a BTC refund for my single Neptune order, saying that my only option is a wire transfer to a bank. Of course they never mentioned any banking requirement to receive a refund when I placed the order. I have no desire to involve banksters in any of my coin-related business, so now I'm kinda stuck. Did you pay with bank transfer or BTC via Bitpay?

No you are not correct
Ask knc and other mining European company How you do the business's
It is not the mining companies that say how business law goes. It's the normal Tax-law. We've been running business for 40 years in our family so I do know how the law goes. Just directing to the right path nothing else. Cheers. Have a nice day. Apparently you don't know how the law goes - VAT registered businesses in EU buying from other VAT registered businesses do not pay VAT at the point of purchase. bitcoinultra, I assume the prices on your website would be VAT inclusive, right?
|
|
|
If they ship from within EU ( UK in that case) to USA there will be no VAT .
the price seems to include the VAT which would mean 20% more for non vat customers That statement makes no sense.

If you want answers to questions, aside from the obvious "When will the Neptune be shipping" then just email them, or even better pick up a telephone and call them. I've never had an issue speaking to anyone in their offices, I've always found all members of staff really helpful.
Sorry, but KNC do not provide actual answers. All they will tell you is pre-scripted bunch of words, that do not carry any actual information. Example: if I were to send an email or call them and ask "What date is to be considered late for the Neptune" I will not receive an actual answer, that is helpful. I am even doubtful that I will receive a positive answer if I were to ask: Am I guaranteed to receive a physical miner and not some hashing power somewhere? Communication is always customer>KNC and not the other way around. But guess what: bitcoinultra.co.uk 3TH/s for $12K in April most probably* * - Obviously not guaranteed.

Does someone have the code handy for a cgminer.sh file that has each board or die for that matter OC'able? I think I can get more performance out of particular boards but not by doing the entire Jupiter. Thanks.
Paste just below line 61 or whichever line the original 0x86 register is at. Also change if [ $c -eq 0 ] to your particular board configuration. http://pastebin.com/vy7jppS3Cyper, please, does the script require the "DC/DC ID" for each die or the "Die ID"? KNC's GUI shows 1,2,3,4 for Die ID but 0,2,4,7 for DC/DC ID, but I'm not clear on which to use. if [ $c -eq ? ] then cmd=$(printf "0x86,0x%02X,0x02,4xB2" $c) fi if [ $c -eq ? ] then cmd=$(printf "0x86,0x%02X,0x02,4xB2" $c) fi if [ $c -eq ? ] then cmd=$(printf "0x86,0x%02X,0x02,4xB2" $c) fi if [ $c -eq ? ] then cmd=$(printf "0x86,0x%02X,0x02,4xB2" $c) fi fi Die ID and they start from zero. So if GUI shows 1,2,3,4 then it is 0,1,2,3

The shelf looks fine. Just be aware if the floor is carpeted that you should be careful and discharge any static electricity before touching your gear. Actually the floor is carpetted, which makes me worried. Just put the miners on the anti-static bag, that they come with

I meant from a warranty perspective. received my unit today but fan is very weak, making a clicking noise. unit is hashing, but fan is bad. what to do?
Change it. Changing the fan will not void your warranty + it is the best thing to do anyway.

Hi guys,
Need some help with accessing my configuration page on a new AntMiner. I already tried changing my IP address setting by following instruction that were mentioned in this topic and still no luck. I just can't seem to login to my little Ant. I tired using IP scanner tool while my Ant was connected and it showed nothing. Is it worth trying to reset it? I'm also unable to find a reset button on my unit, must be blind.
Thanks
I had the same problem - reconnected all the cables + reset and it appeared. The reset button is extremely small - located at the bottom middle of the small controller board

Just look at all that shelving - it is endless. I can count at least 10 aisles, probably 15. They accommodate modules on both sides. Each shelving unit seems to be: 7 floors high, 20 sections long and each section accommodates 6 modules. So 15 units/aisles x 7 floors x 20 sections x 2 sides x 6 modules = 25,200 modules 25,200 x 167.5GH/s = 4,221,000GH/s = 4,221TH/s = 4.2PH/s 4.2PH/s = 1400 Neptunes @ 3TH/s

This is like explaining isotropic vector matrix equilibrium to a monkey. Useless.
You're apparently well versed in advanced calculus, and yet you think you can beat the second law of thermodynamics with your HHO powered car bullshit? Plan B really was Plan A all along. How do you all feel having the privilege of funding that venture?
Look at alllllllll those Jupiter modules they refused to sell to all of us previous owners!! I counted around 720 modules just in that aisle = 120TH/s and just the ones you see. There might be more modules behind the 1st row. Who knows how many more aisles are there. That reminds of the Guns, lots of guns scene in the Matrix: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y70vcs3oV14
