The east seems like it's relegated to either Boston or the Bucks.  I really can't see anyone else truly challenging.  Sixers are interesting because embid can straight dominate but injuries.
I still would not count out the Heat. They've been the dark horse and they've eliminated those three teams on a number of occasions now.

Sure, the Celtics and Bucks literally dominate the regular season. However, I agree with you that we shouldn't dismiss the Heat and other Eastern Conference teams. It's worth keeping in mind that great results in the regular season don't guarantee any success in the playoffs. So even teams like the Cavs and Magic could surprise us in the playoffs.

Who would forget the Heat? This team is proven to be a great team in the playoffs, so Bucks and Celtics should fear them as it's a different kind of game in the playoffs and they might be upset again. Well, there's this Magic and Cavs but they aren't proven yet, they need to make it to the playoffs yet and see if they could pass the first round. I'm sure Heat are not going to end with a good standing, so most probably in the first round they'll be the underdog and I'm excited what team they'll play and will cry.
182  Economy / Economics / Re: Our decision making is responsible for the outcomes in our ways on: March 06, 2024, 08:42:28 PM
Our decision sometimes is wrong and sometimes right. Having poor financial management will simply lead to emptying our wallets and even committing debts. We are lucky if we don't have that kind of attitude toward our money but never we have to ask other people to live like us knowing that it is their life as well. Let us just think that if they are in this situation today, they soon realize about their mistakes in handling their money and change. Some people are just enjoying life even if they have a small income and we can't take and stop that. It is a matter of choice, the good thing for us who have good knowledge in managing our income/expenses, we never struggle hard during crisis.
183  Other / Off-topic / Re: Dont chase your loss on: March 06, 2024, 03:15:54 PM
It is best you gamble when necessary not because you want to chase your loss and win back you money, many are victim of this circumstances and for me is a bad practice and this might make you not to employe your gambling skills and roles because you inhast in your decision making. What is your opinion on this?

Some of us think that chasing losses is necessary so we can stop with peace... you know, if you ever experience losing and you can't accept that you lose, you will find a way to recover it until you stop. For them, it's either they lose it all or they win their target, that's the characteristics of a courageous gambler, they are not only for the fun but on the challenge as well. unfortunately, although some may set a target, they can't seem to follow it consistently, resulting to never ending chasing of losses everytime their gambling session is up.
184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Decentralized vs Centralized Gambling....Which do you prefer? on: March 06, 2024, 02:30:26 PM

Do you think decentralized gambling dApps will eventually replace their centralized counterparts? If not, why? Which do you prefer? Centralized or decentralized gambling? Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Smiley

Based on the current situation, it doesn't seem like it's even close on replacing. Centralized casinos still dominate the gambling industry, not that people are not support DEX but they still prefer the traditional casinos as it's still simplier to use. If Decenralized casinos were to succeed, it has already dominated the crypto gambling space but it has not perform as expected, so we are not seeing our expectation now, I don't expect to see it in the future.
185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does any meme coin has the ability to challenge bitcoin dominance ? on: March 06, 2024, 01:24:29 PM
In last one week, coins like pepe rose by 400% or more. There were other meme coins like dogecoin and shiba inu also growing fast. Lot of bitcoin users would now feel tempted to move their funds to these meme coins for higher profit. At such, do you think that any meme coin has the capacity to challenge bitcoin dominance ?
Meme coins are built for hypes which is why in terms of price increases especially during bull season, we can see them such high. However, it was not how we measured the credibility of the project as it is all about the usability of the project. Meme coins just got wild short-term but Bitcoin continuously growing slowly and consistently.

Whether you like it or not OP, we can never change the stand of people as surely they will consider Bitcoin still dominating the market even though meme coins had pumped more than Bitcoin.
186  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why people mostly fail in trading on: March 05, 2024, 08:33:28 PM
People who fail at trading often make common mistakes such as being overconfident, greed, refusing to take profits when they should, failing to learn from their mistakes, repeating unsuccessful methods, refusing to accept corrections, not knowing enough about the market before beginning, being impatient and disobeying instructions, believing they always know the best way to trade, and lacking self control or discipline.
Before some of them realized their faults, others failed due to a lack of knowledge and understanding that they acquired via experience.

All the things that you have said are right but the question is why they continue doing these things even though they know this is not right.
And this is what it only means, these people are not meant for trading...I don't think they don't have knowledge about trading nor we can say they don't have an idea of what they are doing but they probably doing this without passion and dedication. Because it was different when your goal was not only about money as certainly, we are willing to change and adapt to the market situation.
187  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: March 05, 2024, 02:35:17 PM
if i had an employee like that who played dominoes or other casino games during working hours, i would fire him without a second thought, even when he was the head of the household who needed money. because an employee like that has less focus and motivation to work, he just does what is given to him without thinking about how he can develop, either in that company or elsewhere. why employ someone like that, when he doesn't know his responsibilities.
I support your principle, gambling is not wrong as long as you control it well, know when to have fun and know when to work. Working can provide income, and from this income it can provide pleasure, this can only be achieved if someone can focus. It is important to be a responsible gambler, who can manage his time well, so that he doesn't make fatal mistakes such as gambling during working hours. No one can tolerate this, all company bosses will certainly take a firm stance by firing them if they are caught gambling during working hours.

What is wrong is gambling addiction, but once you own a company and you have employees who are gambling at work, and they assure they will not be addicted, you still should not tolerate that, as addiction doesn't happen right away; it will build slowly to a gambler until it becomes a serious problem. That will make an employee ineffective in the job assigned to him, so if you own the company, you are still paying people who are not effective? The answer is very simple; it should be a no.

That's why gambling is prohibited because it makes employees ineffective, and companies make sure to prevent that from happening, that's why they are proactive with it.
188  Other / Archival / Re: Are investors investing in Bitcoin at ATH now are fools ? on: March 05, 2024, 11:53:15 AM
Are investors investing in Bitcoin at ATH now are fools ?
No, they are not fools but instead, they just take the opportunity to earn short-time. Because I was certain that these people were not stupid.
Perhaps, that is the reason are saying they are fools knowing that investing in Bitcoin is worthy and profitable in all kinds of market conditions. Maybe you just think that it drops after buying which make you worry of them and telling them that they are wrong.
Quote
Is there chance of major correction from here as prices have already peaked now.
It is unpredictable and possible. But why people are buying? Because they believe that it recovers back after the corrections.
Don't take the burden of these people who buy during the bull season, they just take what they think is right, not unless they buy at ATH and then sell when it drops.
189  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What traders must know on: March 04, 2024, 08:16:08 PM
There are many things that a trader can improve on, but there are some that must be followed, like patience, emotion control, and discipline. Also some people say a bad plan is better than having no plan so for a trader he must have strategies for how he will run the trader and how he will manage the risk so that he can get high rewards while at the same time minimizing the risk ratio. This requires experience and knowledge about the market which many fail to achieve.
I disagree, better not do trading anymore if you have this stuff - bad plan as it was just the same as having no plan.
In trading, you should have a concrete and positive plan because that will serve you as a guide. If we only have a bad plan, how can be motivated and patient?

Indeed, to become a successful trader must also have positivity in mind. Trade must be physically and mentally ready for the outcomes of their trader and never give up easily because of suffering minor losses but try to look for a way how to improve.
190  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lottery ticket sports bets on: March 04, 2024, 01:56:34 PM
What do you think of such bets? Have you ever considered doing it?
I have already considered it since I have done it before. The minimum amount to risk is very affordable. If we get lucky here, we can make a significant amount of money. So, I can say that it's really more interesting compared to betting on a lottery where the result is instant. Here, with the number of bets included in your parlay, it might take the whole day to wait for the final result. But as you get closer to winning your tickets, you'll feel the real thrill in gambling because you are hoping to cash out a huge prize.

With a parlay, analyzing is still important. You don't just choose hoping you'll get lucky. That's not the essence here. We are betting on sports because we like to attract luck to our carefully analyzed bets.
191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin proven many times holders won't regret on: March 03, 2024, 07:59:18 AM
It has been proven many times that it was worth risking rather than being ignored.
Those who are still doubtful about Bitcoin, hope they will open their eyes and see what happens, and most of all, they would take some consideration to change their minds. We don't have to wait for another bear and bull season, as we don't just waste our time but also, lose opportunities.

We ain't know until when but I believe that Bitcoin will stay long and continue to give us a profitable experience. If other people invested in this and see them improving, why we don't? In fact, this is not only for rich people but also for poor people, we all can invest as long as we want.
192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and its impact on my life: A journey to a better tomorrow. on: March 01, 2024, 02:07:05 PM
When people lose their limbs due to some accident they become depressed and in despair they want to end their life and there are some people who try to choose begging as their profession where you are trying to do something different. You are trying to be self-sufficient and investing in bitcoin without giving too much priority to this physical handicap of yours. The most important decision for you is whether you decide to invest in Bitcoin and investing in the DCA method. You continue to invest in DCA method regularly as you can and hope you get a lot of good out of this investment.
And I dearly appreciate such kind of behavior and they don't think about giving instead, they remain strong and determined. He doesn't make his health an excuse for not working hard instead, he makes use of this as a reason why people don't look down on others who have a disability because they never know that they are even better than those people who are healthy.

It is something we need to think that everyone has an equal opportunity to invest in Bitcoin. What we need is courage and motivation. If we saw people like OP did, I don't think we can't as certainly we can do the same.
193  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports that you don’t watch but you keep placing bets on: March 01, 2024, 12:36:29 PM
I will never bet on sports that I don't know. The reason for sports betting is to have fun while watching it, so there's no sense in putting a bet if you don't understand the game or cannot watch it. For some reason, sometimes I choose not to watch the game, although it's accessible, because I feel nervous when betting a big amount, and I feel more comfortable without watching it. I just choose to watch the replay instead, but not if my bet ends up losing.
194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mom won 50,000$ in Lottery on: March 01, 2024, 11:47:34 AM
I'm very happy for her, it's one in a million chance to win big in lottery, many people will keep buying lottery tickets till they get old and never win anything substantial, lottery should depend on %100 luck to win, whether it's small amount or the jackpot, unless if there's a way that the lottery companies manipulates wins.

I hope that she invests a large potion of the win in a profitable investment that'll be giving her ROI, so that she doesn't go broke in the next couple of years. I've heard stories of people who won big in gambling and in a few years they become broke, probably because they started living luxurious lifestyles immediately they their win, forgetting that money can finish. It pays to be financially educated.

Winning big in the lottery is like hitting the jackpot in life but you're right, some people go all out on a spending spree and end up back to square one in no time. Investing smartly will really help her since that's the real key to making that windfall last. Financial education is like the unsung hero here like knowing how to handle that sudden influx of cash is as important as winning it in the first place. Here's hoping she makes the right moves and keeps that good fortune rolling

If I were to hope to win in a lottery one time, I'd wish to win a million, as it's hard to win in the lottery twice...actually, it's even hard to win once. But like you guys, I'm also happy for her. You see, she even thought that she had only won $5k, which shows she isn't too greedy or desperate at all. But it turns out it's a $50k win. For a married woman with a child or children, this is already a big help. If utilized effectively, this could be used as a great start for investment. Whatever she can think of, it takes money to make money, right? So this is it for her.
195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Just hodl, bitcoin will do the silencing. on: February 29, 2024, 12:50:39 PM
What he did gives us something important that we need to learn - courage and optimism. He ain't losing hope despite criticism and market dumps that one day his plan and the country's investment will succeed. And he is not wrong and he isn't destructed by negative people from their country as he is still determined to hold and wait for this bullish market.

It sends us a message that we need to be strong and determined to achieve our goals and we don't feel tired waiting for the right time (patience).
Holders got rewards, than those who are afraid and weak.
196  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 29, 2024, 11:54:21 AM
The Clippers don't have the kind of consistency in the game. I've seen that kind of scenario many times where they are up, and then later, they'll give up a big lead, or it goes the other way around. I think their 2nd unit is not that strong, even though they already have Westbrook, and PG was really important, especially against the Lakers team who are healthy at the moment. The good thing about the Clippers is that they were able to build a good standing now, so despite this struggle, they are still likely to make it to the playoffs.
Let us not forget that they have a great winning streak and that made them at the top 3 of the ranking before IIRC. Paul George 3 point shooting is really missed by the team, but since his injury does not make him out of the season, this team can still recover. Yeah, they had some struggle against a strong team as it's their 2 losing streak already, first they fall to the Kings and now to King James.

As per the report, there is no definite time as to when he'll return, but the word "soon" guarantees it.

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10111066-woj-clippers-paul-george-will-return-from-knee-injury-soon-amid-nba-playoff-race
That's a very positive news, for sure days from now we will see PG back and the Clippers will start winning again.
As per standing, they are number 4 now with 5-5 record on their last 10, not bad at all.
197  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Lomachenko vs. Kambosos - May 12 IBF Lightweight Title on: February 29, 2024, 11:09:08 AM
If Tank's mission for his career is to preserve his unbeaten record then I reckon that he is only in this sport to make some money for retirement. He has the talent to create a legacy, however, his motivation will stop from doing this. There are only very few fighters who will take risks to become the greatest. Pacman in boxing and Khabib in MMA are certainly my favorite choices.

Everyone though is here for the business of making big money until they retired. Floyd has set that precedent already, there could be some who chases for legacy, but majority including Tank Davis wanted to be the next Floyd. But it's hard to blame them, they can just give us the reasons that they put their lives on the line when they fight and so they deserved to be paid more.

I do agree, Pacman's mindset is different, that's why he achieved greatness even though he has a lot of lost in his record. Khabib retired undefeated, but it's more on his mentality as his father died and he can go thru MMA without his father in his corner.
These two are champions who have a good reputation from the start. I mean, they are exciting to watch, unlike other self-proclaimed great boxers or MMA fighters, but in reality, the fans are not entertained when they fight. They are a good example of fighters who are willing to risk everything to be great; money is just next for them.

Hopefully though, we can see Tank stepping his game and fighting the champion in 135 lbs like Shakur Stevenson and the winner here.
That would be fun to watch. Although I can say that Tank is good, Shakur seems to not have any weaknesses based on his last fights, so it will be tough for Tank to win here and on how to land his power against a very smart and quick boxer.
198  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Isn't trading almost like gambling? on: February 29, 2024, 06:33:38 AM
It is almost like gambling, it is right. Of course, some traders who claim they are experts will never say yes but for beginners, that is meant to be, they rely mostly on luck like gambling. What to expect from a novice? They just know the basics, have less experience, and low level of TA, it was certain that they were asking for some market favor and being lucky for their calls, and the chances are the same as they gamble.

Really that not hard to make up such comparison on which simply sticking with the main idea.

1. Trading = investment/income source
2. Gambling = leisure/entertainment

There is a big difference in meaning but some approach seems to be the same. Unless you have enough knowledge and skills. In fact, for some people gambling is not an entertainment anymore but a source of income.
199  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: February 28, 2024, 02:41:43 PM
It's quite surprising that suddenly the Pistons are starting to improve. I'd say that the Knicks are somewhat overrated now, considering they are heavy favorites even when struggling to beat a team with a bad standing. Great pick, @ralle14, as always. Just like you, I also won on this game, but that was betting on the Knicks to win by 1-5 points, and I just got it right with x5 odds, so it's a great day for me too.
Thanks and congrats on winning that margin bet from the Knicks, i've also noticed some of the weaker teams cover these double-digit spreads more than usual so I thought of taking a shot on the Pistons.

Sometimes I hit a bet with bigger odds, but most of the time I lose. I don't even count if I'm up or not; I just love to take a high risk and maybe have fun. But my bet on normal odds is quite bigger and very limited in choosing a game.

I'm also on the Mavs spread, as the Cavs haven't been that consistent with their performance recently while the Mavs could potentially return to their winning ways after losing against the Pacers.

Edit: That final shot from the Cavs was unreal.  Shocked

They almost had that win, but Strus ruined their chance. Just won! It's unbelievable; this guy really adds some good value to the team, and he is the product of the Miami Heat, who are not afraid to take shots, even big shots like that. Anyway, since Dallas is now on a 2-game losing streak, I think it's imperative to back them tomorrow against the Raptors.
200  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Learning comes before earning on: February 28, 2024, 01:24:39 PM
It should start with a question...How can you earn something if you don't know what you are doing? If we know how to trade, we have a bigger chance to earn money but if we believe in luck, that is not possible.

That is right, Learning should be a priority rather than thinking about earning. Otherwise, we are spending our money on nothing and wasting our time.
Knowledge is very important in trading and must be secured first prior to trade. Earning is not hard when we are already fully equipped with such a thing and see no failure because we know what we have to do.
