661  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: $1,080 Billion powerball lotto winner in the USA on: July 21, 2023, 03:32:34 PM
I just saw a news on youtube that someone won the $1,080 Billion jackpot prize on the Powerball lotto in the US. In the video I watched, someone claims that she was the winner, but as of now, there is still no official announcement from the lottery organization. also, the store where the winning ticket was bought will receive a $1 Million bonus from the organization.

anyway, it still really surprises me that if the winner decides to take the prize in one lump sum, they will only get half of the total price because of the taxes that will be taken out.

here's the video I saw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LINxj6C-00c

Yeah, really hard to choose if you are going to get the lump sum or not. But for them, I would go with it, so that there will be no hassle and then you can think ahead what you gonna do with that money.

Because if not, then you will have to wait like every month to get the money and it might take years before you can get all your winnings. And for sure, I think majority here will choose lump sum? Right guys?

Both have its own pros and cons whether they choose to have the lump sum or via installment. But for me, it's much better if I will get the lump sum so that I will not be thinking about what is left and so I can have a proper assessment on what I have to do with it. Besides, 1 Billion dollars is quite a big amount to think but for the winner, that is not the same figure she's getting because taxes are also hefty in US and I guess she will only have a clean 65% of what she won.
662  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How would you measure your success in Crypto currency on: July 21, 2023, 09:29:12 AM
Crypto have been my life saver hence I am unemployed and only taking of my family, even without a job I can still provide for the family due to crypto and I am truly thankful for that because despite all the hardships and obstacles in my crypto journey I still be able to cope up with. Still doing airdrops, bounties and doing testnet campaigns and hoping to make a jackpot towards it. Truly I can tell the I have success and failures in crypto but continues to move forward on my journey.
I won't stop you from participating in airdrops or keep on hunting bounties but rather spend your time learning about trading. Because it was hard to look for hope in airdrops where almost 100% are scams and useless tokens. I will tell you that you can never find success from that but you can find it from trading. Yes, many had failed from doing this but who knows if you can make things right and you are good at this. Because from this, you can actually find hope, and was not impossible to succeed.
663  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Anthony Joshua vs Dillian Whyte II on: July 20, 2023, 02:43:46 PM
However, I won't underestimate Joshua's KO rate which should be a threat to white. Will definitely be exciting to watch.

Definitely, AJ has more KO wins than Dillian Whyte, but the latter has more overall wins compared to AJ. It's just that AJ is more popular than Dillian Whyte, so it's understandable why the majority of the fans believe AJ will win.

As for their KO records from BoxRec, Dillian Whyte is 19/29, while AJ is 22/25, so it's very obvious that AJ has an edge.
664  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight (july15,2023 on: July 20, 2023, 01:50:49 PM
I'm really tempted to bet on Inoue to win by KO; it's 1.98 in my sportsbook now. What do you guys think about these odds? Are you going in, or will you play it safe and just bet on Inoue to win the game regardless of how?
Why would you doubt Inoue? He is a KO artist, and the majority of his wins are through KO. I think it's easy to make a decision. Maybe some media outlets are just hyping Fulton a bit, so people will be confused. But let's keep it simple: Inoue is the favorite and is likely to win the battle.

Inoue's first-round KO win is at x40. Is it worth the risk?
With a small amount at risk and a high reward if you get lucky, you'll surely have fun.
665  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Be watchful it's not yet time on: July 20, 2023, 12:12:27 PM
Many people have gained trust that we are automatically back to the bullrun, this made them to be free in choosing altcoin and newly launched tokens without knowing that cryptocurrency price action and movement are so unpredictably. It could be high at this very moment and In the next few moments we may witness a serious dip without knowing what propelled to such rejection in price.

Beginners are impatient and I feel it. They always think that after buying, they could sell their coins/tokens thinking that it is bullish right away.
Perhaps, they should know the situation and must be aware that there is no instant profit and stop thinking Bullrun as it won't goes like that no matter what we do. Well, of course, I think that this year 2023 is somewhat looking good and prices started to climb high and this is the result of the upcoming halving as investors started to fill their bags and make ready for the 2024 bull season.
666  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I avoid and identify scams? on: July 20, 2023, 11:48:26 AM
How to avoid them?
 - don't invest blindly, you have to do research and dig deeper
 - don't trust someone who offers you BIG rewards or says multiplying your capital xxx
 - invest only in those projects that have a use case and most of all, those projects that have a long market existence and tradable

Everything is at your discretion, not us nor these strangers. You can decide what you think is right.

667  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Time for bounties and airdrops as we near bull season on: July 19, 2023, 09:40:41 PM
...
don't judge any bounties or airdrop because still profitable until right now and worth earn from 10$ until $200 each kinds project.
Well, the question is if we can sell them (ARKM coins).
Honestly, I was one of the thousands of people hunting bounties and airdrops before, and there is so much excitement when the bull season comes as my tokens pumps but as the years passed by, it turns not right and the situation had changed seeing that airdrops and bounties have no value anymore. That is why I could say that they are a waste of time now, maybe there are some but the majority are scams and useless tokens, and what are we gonna expect from them? Nothing...You're too lucky if you have bounties that have value in the market but never expect it will stay long.
668  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trade with caution on: July 19, 2023, 12:53:36 PM

You cannot get a mentor unless you can pay them for the time they spent upon teaching you or either there are one of your close relatives that willing to help you learn on how to trade correctly. If you don't have any opportunity to learn from them much better to self study about trading since experience is powerful tool for us to became a high caliber trader. So if we are in learning stage much better if just enjoy the trade flow and for sure in future our efforts will be paid off once we learn the technicalities of trading in crypto market.
But we must also know that trading couldn't be learned instantly. Asking for a mentor is a good option if we wanted to learn faster but yeah, we also have to pay for the services offered and they are quite expensive which is why many traders are preferred to take the self-study option although it takes a longer time. However, learning to trade is perhaps continuous because everyday trade that we experience could also contribute to learning as well. We become experts in this field not because of what we get from self-study or mentors but because we gain success due to our long trade experience.
669  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: July 19, 2023, 01:39:43 AM

No odds yet for the two game but i think on the second game it would still be TNT as the underdog, by what margin, that's the question and if it would be the same as last time that the spread reached 20+ points, i would be for TNT.

I think the spread is still high considering their loss in the last game. They have experienced several blowout defeats, which may make them desperate to win. However, they will likely make efforts to secure a victory, particularly since they came close last time. There is a possibility that they will play harder and strive to win the game, so even if they fail, there is a chance that the spread will be covered once again.
We will find out today. I just checked the betting odds, and it appears that they are not yet available, possibly because it is still early considering the game is scheduled for 7:30 PM this evening. However, based on Phoenix being the better team and their likelihood of bouncing back from their previous loss, I believe Phoenix will win this game. Regarding the handicap spread, if it's 10+ points, I still think it's worth considering to bet on TNT.
670  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 19, 2023, 01:05:25 AM
If that's true, then the 76ers management should think about building a really strong team before Embiid runs out of patience.

Actually, Philly is always doing their best to build a strong core around Joel Embiid every season. Even reshuffling the coaching staff is being considered. They are always active at trying to get into hot trades and actively fishing some good role players at the free agency.

The "Trust the Process" that is currently several years in the making now achieved 1 achievement, and that is Embiid now finally getting his NBA Season MVP award. The next and the biggest one should be the NBA Championship but will he be able to achieve it in Philly or elsewhere?

Chemistry issues indeed. Again as I mentioned, several times already where Philly tried to build a solid lineup around Embiid but nothing works effectively. Maybe Embiid can find it on another team but as long as he won't demand a trade, Philly should just try their best to find a good role players out there that will perfectly blend with Embiid.

If they always change their roster each season then they might not get any best result in the long run since chemistry is really important in a team and they cannot get that if there's always a roster change happen every end of the season. Much better if they focus to build up good chemistry with current strong roster they have since for sure with that they might have a good chance to win a championship on their team. For now as you said they really need good role players since this could help them a lot.

Embiid has not shown any interest in leaving the team thus far, but there are rumors of his teammates, like James Harden, wanting a trade. In this situation, it might be worth considering trading Harden, as he hasn't performed at his best with the team. Embiid is the franchise player and team captain, so the focus should be on surrounding him with capable players who will commit to the system. Additionally, having a coach with a championship mentality is crucial for their success.
671  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Seniors vs Kids — in the future of Bitcoin on: July 18, 2023, 09:55:26 PM

I saw a news saying that in "2022 Crypto scams against seniors surged 78%", you might agree that one of the reason why these happened is the lack of knowledge in cryptocurrency. But a lot of seniors contributes to the success of Bitcoin.
Maybe you forget that we are already in 2023.
But talking to seniors, they don't have capability enough to manage this kind of investment due to their age and knowledge. So, it was not necessary to involve them in this but rather let them enjoy the last few days of their life.

Quote
Do you agree that kids is the future of Bitcoin than with seniors?
And which of them will contribute the most?
Bitcoin contributes a lot to the future, that is my take, and this new generation will bring it to reality and realize the real purpose of this creation and this will gonna be considered as a currency alternative to fiat money.
672  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How can I understand meme coin good or bad position? on: July 18, 2023, 09:49:27 PM
How can I understand a meme coin's position in the current market? Is there any way to tell if it will be good or bad? I have seen MEXC exchange add many meme tokens daily. How to identify a good token from here?
Perhaps you can't realize to now until such time that you will see them dying. Yes, their names have been famous this time due to their market hype activities that drag too much attention to the community but after this hype, you can witness their dumps because these projects have no use case and it was impossible for them to survive long term with that condition.

And don't get fooled by that exchange as it can't be trusted. Consider looking at known exchanges as you only see a few meme coins because only a few traders trade these meme coins.
673  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: July 18, 2023, 08:00:06 AM

As of this point, both camps are yet to discuss that and start their negotiations because it is still too early for them to commence it. Besides, even if we say that Inoue have an advantage in this fight despite being the challenger, we still cannot say that it is a guarantee that he will win and will proceed to the negotiations for the upcoming undisputed fight versus Marlon Tapales.

Exactly, we have yet to see the outcome of this fight as it could still change. There are numerous factors that will be taken into consideration, with money being the main factor. If this fight has the potential to generate a significant amount of revenue and ends up being a close contest, then it is likely that we will witness a rematch.
674  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 18, 2023, 07:39:02 AM
Tbh, I'd still have the Nuggets over the current Suns rosters. My views would change in mid season whether or not the Suns had an upgrade or just the same.
While too many talks about the rumors and biggest contracts, people are forgetting that the Nuggets are still Nuggets and they can still be this upcoming season's top team. But yes, that's likely to change when we see what happens to them in the mid-season. Because from there, it's going to be visible whether they're still dominating and they're likely to get into the playoffs. Although some of them have already been traded and gone out of the team but the entire major players are still intact.

No one would forget what the Nuggets did last season; it's just that they aren't a superteam, so the hype isn't really that big. Actually, there are still plenty of fans who believe the Nuggets won't repeat. This poses a challenge for them, and considering how humble this team is, they surely won't be complacent. Instead, they will work to improve their weaknesses.
675  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Things that influence our trading decisions on: July 17, 2023, 12:43:03 PM
Trading in cryptocurrencies is a very important matter. Trading may seem easy to you but when you trade you will realize how much you already know about trading. Before starting trading professionally, first you need to know about trading. And besides knowing, you have to put it into practice. First by depositing a small amount of money, you need to gain practical experience and risk of market volatility trading, then when you understand these things well, you can continue trading professionally for profit. It is very important to control your emotions in trading. You should never trade with your emotions. One should always keep a cool head and give up one's greed completely. In trading you can follow others but don't apply other's strategy directly, own strategy is very important in trading.
It is a sort of trading preparation and we indeed doing this otherwise, we never get what we wanted to happen. But it was not just having that knowledge and skill, we also have to learn how to control our emotions as this is a factor that would affect our trades. That is why I have to encourage people to take it slow and never rush because learning trading couldn't be instant and so much more from controlling our emotions. However, I don't discourage people to try and make losses because in this way are able to learn more.
676  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What could make you get into a fight with your fellow gambler? on: July 14, 2023, 03:12:20 PM
I heard of a story about two gamblers that got into a serious fight on the grounds that a bet they merged an amount of money equally to place  using the online account of one person among their two. Luckily for them the bet won. But something happened, when it got to the sharing formula of the total amount won the owner of the account  insisted on taking a lion's share since it was his account that was used in placing the bet. The latter refusing to accept it that way they got into a serious fight. How pathetic!

What could make you get into a fight with your fellow gambler? And would you agree at anytime to double cash with your fellow gambler to place a bet using his account, on the notion of increasing the potential win.

This situation can be avoided if you are confident enough to gamble on your own self without involving someone even if it's your closest friend among all your circle, you will not benefit something if you merge a bet with someone you know and especially if you don't know because that is the great formula to start a war that you two cannot avoid as you're the ones who started it without the knowledge about what would be the outcome.

Both of you are already bettors, so what is keeping you two from betting separately? It's much more fun and interesting because you will win and lose peacefully.
677  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 14, 2023, 02:13:39 PM
Everyone talking about Ja Morant and thought neighborhoods or lack of role models is absolutely crazy. He grew up in a rich neighborhood, went to private school, his parents are still happily married and judging from the pictures of them growing up, their household was not in any way gangsta. This being hard stuff happened after they all got money and wanted to play pretend Scarface. That’s why he has teenagers at his house he’s bullying. This is going to end badly for him if he keeps playing a fake role and it won’t be loss of sponsors.

Yes, that is the thing which makes it more confusing because why would he wanted to portray someone that isn't really the real him. I mean, he have all the means in life, living comfortable, been to a private school and even came from a rich neighborhood, and then he just wanted to be a gangsta? When in fact he doesn't know what it really mean or what will be the consequence about it. I guess Dame Lillard should teach this kid a lesson because he is the real gangsta but chose a new way so that he can continue to play professionally.
678  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is it Advisable joining Bitcoin signal group? on: July 14, 2023, 04:18:53 AM
It was an option but many members (including me) never recommend doing this due to reported scams and losses.
So why we should have to take the risk in the first place if we know that already? I'd say it was an option because you are the one to decide about it but I will tell you that no traders become successful from relying on others strategies just like relying on signal groups. Because what they did was also their own opinion as they never know what will happen in the market. And considering that situation, they are just also predicting and we can do it if we can.
679  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin trading and gambling on: July 14, 2023, 03:14:57 AM
From my observation, people don't have much regards for gamblers, they either see them as lazy people who don't like to work, or people who want to take shortcut to get rich. Although people are entitled to their opinions, but I don't like to categorize bitcoin in this group of " try your luck ". I know bitcoin is of a higher level, it's a decentralized digital currency that you can use to make transactions, at the same time you can cash in when the coin appreciates., or even trade it to make profit.

So having made all this comparisons, do you think that bitcoin can be classified as gambling?
You perhaps saying that gambling is those people who are lazy people that wanted to become rich instantly but Bitcoin does not. We can't say Bitcoin is for luck and easy instead, we work hard for it like we do in some form of investment. Therefore, it was not the right opinion to say that it was gambling because we know the future of our investment unlike we are in gambling.

Maybe, if you think about trading but still, it was not a form of gambling unless you never know what you are doing and you are now relying on luck which is a problem for most.
680  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: July 13, 2023, 01:07:16 PM
...as Spence said in the All access provided by the link above, he felt he is the one instrumental for bringing this fight.

No doubt that Spence will be the bigger guy here, but Crawford is used in fighting bigger opponents.

He truly believes that he is more popular and capable of making a fight more successful. Perhaps he is correct, but what matters now is that he has agreed to fight Crawford, which has the potential to overshadow his popularity. Spence may no longer be a significant PPV draw, as Crawford could become the new sensation among the crowd. Although some argue that Crawford's fights haven't generated substantial PPV views, if he manages to defeat Spence, that perception is likely to change.
