1081  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it true that this AI is good for trading? on: January 12, 2023, 08:52:39 AM
I don't think somthing known for everyone is a good thing to make profit from trading, we already know that exchanges and big whales don't trade personally, they have their own bots and programs that opposite your trading, so as long as these entities capable of reaching the same information as the normal trader, they will trade against them. However, for longer term expectations, it may work better.
Yes, we'd expect better results from using advanced technology like AI to make trading easier but I see the real advantage to the trader if they actually do it, not by relying on robots. Of course, we can say that these things don't have emotion so they can perform well in critical situations but if we wanted to gain more experience and learn, this is not the best option to take either.

For now, it was still a quest in which AI or bots are performing well. It can be interesting in other ways but for now, doubts are still there.
1082  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: January 12, 2023, 05:05:57 AM

BTW, last month there was an announcement from Pacquiao that he can come out of retirement to fight either Errol Spence or Terence Crawford. I don't think that it will happen though. Pacquiao vs Spence was scheduled in 2021, but was cancelled as a result of injury to the former. Now both Spence and Crawford are having packed schedule and they may not be interested in a match against Pacquiao.

It's not that exciting anymore because after he fought Ugas, everything was clear and he is no longer the same he once was. People will no longer interested to watch that match because we obviously know the result are far worse than how he performed in his last pro boxing career and might probably he won't reach the last round anymore. Pacquiao should continue bullying celebrity boxers like he did with Kyoo Haha.

He had an excuse that time and he wasn't really moving well because of leg cramps, this comeback fight maybe good for him to prove that he is till here and he can fight. I'm pretty sure people will still watch the between Pacman and Spence or Crawford.
1083  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 12, 2023, 04:38:33 AM
Hawks come back was still short though, LOL. I got my bet on them that game and lost my hope when they are down a huge margin. My other bet is the Nuggets -14.5, so far so good but cannot celebrate early until the game is over. GL to us who took that spread.
1084  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stay away from BONK on: January 11, 2023, 02:20:59 PM
Your suggestion is correct. Its hype has attracted a lot of people. The final outcome may be the same as everyone thinks. But there will still be many people who choose him. They believe that the greater the risk, the higher the profit. You will regret it when it is too late.
Greedy people will easily get attracted and this is one reason why scammers and these developers will never stop creating hype and scam projects because they'll know that they can still make money from this.

They believe that the greater the risk, the higher the profit.
It was a different story from investing shitcoins or hype coins compared to potential projects as all of them are associated with high risk. But in investing in BONK, I would say it was not a wise decision. I don't mind the offer or huge possible capital multiplier because what is important now is to have assurance (at least) to get returns from investing.
1085  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading as a newbie? on: January 11, 2023, 01:44:37 PM

Quick question, what timeframe is best for day trading?
It was hard to tell what is the best timeframe for trading because of the market condition but for me, I often check every hour for not active coins. But if you are using coins that are very active or highly volatile, it is best to every now and then (let us say every 5 or 10 mins). With the constant observation of the market will help you determine what is best. But I would say that don't focus on the timeframe because the market trend will change from time to time.
1086  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 11, 2023, 07:11:59 AM
0/1 for my early bet. Portland Trail Blazers cannot get that lead that they want in the 4th quarter. They got near but the Orlando Magic preserved it as much as possible. 106-109.
My live bets lost too.
Golden State Warriors ML opened @2.00. They tried to make a run in the 4th quarter cutting the lead to single digits but they ran out of time. Good to see their starters back though and creating rhythm before they go to the road.
Waiting for my 1 win if the Clippers can protect their lead until the buzzer sounds against Mavs. It's not that I doubt them but it's Luka Doncic making magic even if he lacks time.

Clippers won the game already mate, congrats.

0 win for me here, I bet on the Portland and Hornets on the + side against the Raptors. Two close game, but in the end, Portland losses this one while the Hornets can't hold or maintain the lead of Raptors to 10 points or less.

Most likely I'm going back for tomorrow and see how it goes.

If Portland have won that game, they would still not cover the spread, best win you have is the moneyline which has small odds. Clippers bet was the one that gives me a relaxing feeling watching the game, they are ahead with a comfortable margin and Dallas was not even able to make it a close game.

About the Warriors, I guess lots of his hear lose our bets if we take them live.
1087  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: January 11, 2023, 06:39:51 AM
I think we have the easiest bet today. I'm thinking that Ginebra will lose because game 7 will not happen if they will win. This is written in the script already, and if you guys believe that like me, I think that -3.5 Bay Area is a huge gift now.

Your thoughts on this...
1088  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't feel comfortable with crypto exchange on: January 10, 2023, 12:26:17 PM
Everybody needs to fear crypto exchange without waiting for people to preach exchange is not good for storing bitcoin.   Remitano exchange is where I do buy bitcoin and sell bitcoin.  Sometimes it is very difficult to have access with this wallet to sell or buy bitcoin,  at times it takes 24hrs before one can logging this exchange. Just imagine exchange like this have some network issues like this and never gets back to normal again. This should be enough reason why people shouldn't store  bitcoin on exchange wallet.
I choose crypto exchanges based on their,
 -performance
 - transaction fees
 - speed of confirmation

Based on your experience, waiting for 24 hours just to log in or do anything is something wary. I can really afford to give trust in that exchange even though many people will say it was good and reliable because that long delays will something tells us differently and doubts. I'd rather choose other exchanges than stay with that one as we are not wasting our time waiting but we also loss confidence.

1089  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 10, 2023, 11:43:21 AM
My picks for tonight.

New York Knicks vs Milwaukee Bucks = Milwaukee Bucks Win 1,94 Odds.

Washington Wizards vs New Orleans Pelicans = Washington Wizards Win 1,84 Odds.

Good luck guys.

I will go on the opposite on the Knicks vs Bucks game, I will take the home team @1.92. Seems though that the odds are very close on this game which means this is going to be a good game. But the Knicks are very confident right now specially in front of their crowd.

I wish you had chosen my other pick.
My Milwaukee bet won, Washington bet lost.

Looking forward to tonight, I hope we win more.

Bucks rally to win, I was able to get an odds of 9.40, unfortunately, it was a parlay as I have also Bulls with 11 odds, it was taken during live. If Bulls won the game, I would have enjoyed it a lot last night. Anyway, that bet was just for fun because as you can see on the odds, they are likely gonna lose, it's just that I'm not lucky yet.
1090  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: January 10, 2023, 11:21:41 AM
If this is just between local teams, especially smc and mvp, it won't be as exciting as this. I'm rooting for Bay Area to push this series to game 7 with Powell being reactivated. They should have done it as early as Game 4 to have a chance in better standing. Always take the advantage if there is one. Now, the pressure is even greater since they are the ones in a do-or-die situation.

I think that their priority import is Nicholson and they are waiting for him to get better at this stage but it didn't come that way, i mean his injury has worsen or not yet healed as of this time while Powell is more usable than him. Let's not be deceived with this activation of Powell because he is not 100 percent healthy, people might think that it is good to bet now for the Dragons as Powell will be playing but this might be just a mind game for the coach of the Dragons.

Note that once they replace Nicholson, the Dragons can't revert back to him as an import, would be Powell till game 7 if needed.

But nevertheless, it's welcome news for the backers of the Dragons that somehow the Dragons will have an import playing in game 6.

I think Nicholson is not yet 100%, and they already accepted that they can't change their import anymore. Well, they have to choose, if they have an import and they will win game 6, that means they have a chance to win game 7, so it's the right decision to activate Powell and let him help the team to win and take the game to 7 series.
1091  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Long term Crypto winning strategies on: January 09, 2023, 09:42:39 PM

The deep dips is always the best time to invest long on BTC and past events has proven so, right now BTC my be struggling with price which has made many investor paranoid and pulled out their investment out of the fears that BTC might continue dropping down in price till it diminishes but all of that is false fear cause this is not the first time BTC price has been this bad. All we need to do now is to think long term investment as BTC will recover to a price value unimagined anytime soon.
As for alts that's a risk I won't endeavor to take, for the potentiality of any alt is just but a momentary potent which will vanish in short period after gaining trust and assets invested on already. We have seen so many cases
The bear season is really the best time to start investing in potential coins like Bitcoin. But the question is if you can manage to hold longer as the price won't recover. Because a lot of people buy during the dip but as the situation gets worse where prices are dumping more, they are in panic selling. So instead of making a profit, they are only making losses.

Let us say it was a good opportunity but it was a disaster for some investors who never understand the volatility of the market. That is why as long as you can manage to hold, then grab this opportunity.
1092  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 09, 2023, 09:56:50 AM
So any update regarding the injury of Kevin Durant?

I think this is a serious matter that we need to discuss because if that injury is so bad and he will be advise to miss the remaining season, the Nets will certainly not be the same team anymore. Durant and Irving were the stars that was carrying the team to where they are now, but without Durant Irving will not make this team a playoff team.
1093  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Caleb Plant vs David Benavidez on: January 09, 2023, 09:28:45 AM

What if Bivol will do that and try snatching Canelo's belt? It's not by far since Bivol can take that weight and he can continue doing
the same fighting style or maybe he can be more fit.
Bivol IMO will not go down, because if he wants to, he would have done that a long time ago.
Canelo is the one who should go up again to take the rematch as that's the only chance he can even the match, then we might see a trilogy which would surely gather a lot of money from the fans.

I get your point and the possibility that Canelo will move up for the sake of money is higher, nothing to lose, but there's a huge
amount that in stake if he will take his chance to call for a rematch in the same weight level.

Let's see if how they will take that, but for the meantime let's move back to Caleb and Benavidez.

It's a huge gamble for Canelo because he suffered defeat during his attempt, but who knows maybe in the 2nd try he'll succeed.
1094  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people store their cryptocurrency on exchanges? on: January 06, 2023, 12:30:24 PM
I am in the process of purchasing a Ledger Nano offline wallet and it got me thinking about why people store their digital assets on crypto exchanges.

These exchanges are susceptible to hacking, insolvency/bankruptcy, misuse of customer funds (FTX) etc.

These are some reasons why it is discouraged to use exchanges wallet as a storage wallet but there are also some reasons why many people are doing this;
 * amount of coins stored
 * for trading purposes only ( it saves withdrawal/deposit fees)
 * hardware wallets are expensive ( we'd rather prioritize investing first)
 * safety is out of their mind

I'm using an online wallet anyways but after many years of using this, I've never encountered worse issues and never experienced losing my funds. Maybe because I was careful in handling my keys and password. If we are still careless, even using a hardware wallet couldn't protect your funds 100%.
1095  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: age 47 is it too late or not to invest in bitcoin.? on: January 06, 2023, 11:50:01 AM
Age doesn't matter when investing in Bitcoin because what is important is that you are doing something like building another source of income but it is a question if you are ready enough to take the risk or not. In fact, 47 years old is not old enough to start doing business or just simply hold. If I were you, I'd better start now and make a profit later. We don't need to compare our age to these young people because it was not necessary. We take this opportunity because we believe that this could help us in the future rather than just spending our money on useless stuff.
1096  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: January 06, 2023, 06:23:31 AM
I've read an article today, and according to it, it will still be Nicholson who will be their import in game 4. Maybe that's the reason why the odds favored the Ginebra and they are now favored by -2.5 points. This is the first time where Ginebra was listed as the favorite, and we all know that game 4 is a very important game for the Bay Dragons as they need to win to even the series.
1097  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are your thoughts on revenge trading? on: January 05, 2023, 02:19:30 PM

~ Do you think people intentionally go into revenge trading or is is just emotional?
Many, a lot of traders are chasing their losses and they will take putting in more funds as they'll think it could help to recover. Unfortunately, it was not the solution as it only makes you fail and lose more.
Quote
~ what will you advise someone making series of losses ?
Instead of thinking about "revenge", better think about how to improve our knowledge and skills. Too much emotion is not good in trading as it will lost your focus and market understanding. We can recover them gradually if we are consistent in our strategies and remain calm.
1098  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 05, 2023, 01:43:21 PM
Lebron took years before he can get a championship although he was a promising rookie at the start of his career.

He made an easy shortcut by joining Wade and Bosh in Miami, just like Durant, he also joined Curry and Thompson to win championships. If there's no hope in a team, then that talent needs to be taken to a team that has a decent chance of winning a championship. Well, so much expectation from him, we all know how talented he is, but this is NBA, the biggest league in the world, so he also need to maintain himself to be healthy, so as not to waste his talent.
1099  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco on: January 05, 2023, 12:53:10 PM
This is going to be a tough fight for Lomachenko. If this fight really going to happen, then Lomachenko is going to be 35+ years already. While Haney only 24. I see that Lomachenko has difficulties against younger boxers (Lopez is a good example). I think the time will take its toll and in this fight Haney is going to win by decision. Loma is not in his prime anymore. He fights rarely. Compared to Haney, whos career is in prime. While this fight is not 100% confirmed, the time is working against Loma. 3-4 years ago I would go with Lomachenko, now I am in favor for Haney.
Lomachenko had a problem against Lopez because he claimed that he had an injury that time, so this time I believe he is already 100% healthy and there will be no more excuses in case he will lose against Haney. This could be a big fight for him but it's not new to him, maybe this is a tough fight for Haney too as I believe he hasn't face a boxer that is as smart as Loma.

He made a good comeback fight after that Lopez lost, he beat Nakatani and then Commey if my memory serves me right.

But against Ortiz it was a different Loma that we think he is no longer in his prime and others have said, 35 years old. So that is already a lot of wear and tear on his body. While Haney is young and very tall and a good boxer too, that's why this fight is going to be very difficult for Loma. And this could very well define his career, if ever he will beat a prime fighter.
This is a big test for Loma and I will trust him to win this fight because I believe that he will be listed as the underdog, and with that, it means the odds are very attractive while there's an assurance that the fight would be entertaining to watch. Haney maybe young and is on his prime, but he should not underestimate Loma as anything can happen.
1100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why you should be very careful with alts on: January 05, 2023, 09:21:11 AM
Not just in alts, this also applies to every decision and every investment you make. Investing in altcoin, especially newly created project needs deep research. Those are high-risk, high-reward investments. It's the same in the ICO era, abandoning the project once they profited from it until now in NFT and the sad reality is it will always be even in the future.
Most of these new projects now are hyped and it was really tempting because of the high rewards but later on, they'll turn into scams and run all the money from their investors. Sometimes they create dramas in order not to take all the blame. Now, it was really hard to invest trust in newly created projects and I feel that we're getting worse as more and more new projects come without a working product to support their platform.
If this situation will continue, not to wonder why there is a declining growth of altcoins investors than Bitcoin.
