1001  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it good to accept crypto as a payment? on: February 23, 2023, 11:29:11 AM
Accepting Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies as payment for services or goods can have its pros and cons which need to be evaluated before going ahead and letting your consumers pay with it.

That is what we are supposed to do because it was important to know our market first and to assure that when this will happen we have users to take our services. Otherwise, it was useless to run the business and only just fail in the end. It was to know that even though the spread of crypto is getting stronger, this won't gives us a reliable thing also to decide unless we know that we are surrounded by crypto holders.
Therefore, it was advisable to know our environment so well because this is the basis of our project business.
1002  Economy / Economics / Re: Are people really having the wrong concept of savings? on: February 23, 2023, 09:26:36 AM
Indeed, people are really having a negative understanding about savings. Most people thinks that savings is a forever deal. Savings is not untouchable rather, savings is the money you set aside from your earning before spending for future purposes. Different people save for different reasons either for investment, rent, or for any other things. People should not think that savings are untouchable. It's just for unforseen circumstances.
In fact, the reason why we save is to become ready for whatever happens to us in the coming days. Unfortunately, many people anticipate it and so they indeed up having difficulties when unforeseen circumstances come.
Might we say that because we are not financially educated nor it was taught clearly why we should do this? I think it was time to move on from such useless thinking and adopt the system that "savings" place an important role.
1003  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: February 23, 2023, 04:47:40 AM
I don't know what you mean by another level though, Thurman will be the underdog here because of his recent performance plus he will be fighting a prime Spence who is just beating everyone at 147 lbs.

Experience wise it will be Thurman as he has been longer in the game, however, he had a long lay off before, then losing to Manny.

So if there will be prediction here by the majority, I think they will go with Spence.

I believe the outcome of Thurman's last fight has no connection to why he is the underdog here. Even if he won impressively, he would remain an underdog since Spence is currently in his prime, undefeated, and ranked in the top 3 of the pound-for-pound rankings, if I'm not mistaken. And the fact that this fight is a non-title fight, I guess Thurman does have a decent chance, as Spence might not bring the energy he usually brings to a fight.

Yes, regardless if that Thurman fight, he will still be the underdog against Spence.

But I think the point is that Thurman didn't look good in his last fight, everyone expects him to have a statement win against a overblown 140 lbs in Barrios. Or maybe Barrios is just as tough as anyone in this division as he won his comeback fight.

Spence though need to bring his A-side against Thurman, as you have said, maybe Thurman doesn't look good against Barrios, but for sure the stakes is high in this fight and we might see him bring his best against a prime Spence.

That's right, beating Spence would put him at the top and open up a lot of opportunities for him. I believe Thurman has listened to the criticism about his last fight and will make sure to find a way to improve or win. Regardless of how he wins, as long as it's a clean win, he will enjoy a big success in boxing.

He already has experience losing a fight, so he has nothing to lose. He just needs to fight well, have a great game plan, and who knows, he could give Spence his first loss.
1004  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 23, 2023, 04:24:26 AM
LOL! Do people really believe that the Clippers will not benefit from acquiring Westbrook, and instead will struggle?

The odds should increase, not decline, but from what we are seeing, it seems like the bettors do not appreciate the decision of the Clippers to acquire Westbrook. Well, it's too early to conclude just yet. Let him play first, and then we will decide. As for me, I have a feeling that Westbrook will not be criticized with the Clippers; the opposite may happen.
1005  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Advantage of holding Bitcoin in time of crisis on: February 22, 2023, 11:35:46 AM

I fully agree with you, it makes no sense at all at the moment to save money in my country. Just yesterday I received an email from my bank that the increased the interest rate on my savings account to 0.6%, which is insane compared to the 8-10% inflation we have now for more than a year. You are losing at least 7-8% value each year for all the money that is not invested. Even for some high risk bonds where the repayment is not guaranteed the interest rate is only around 5%. In real terms you are losing money if you don't invest in stocks or bonds. That is why I kept buying more bitcoins every month for the last 12 months with the money that I would usually put in the savings account.
With a small interest rate on our money while they are benefiting more from us this will lead to me decided not to deposit to them but rather use it for investment. With the huge inflation rate that we currently experience, it definitely no sense to have those rates. And the best option now is to invest in something that could give us more money even though we take high risk and responsibility. Like in investing Bitcoin could provide us a more satisfying return than the banks can do.
1006  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Time to buy or sell? on: February 22, 2023, 10:57:04 AM
At this time of the market, it is not possible to say which direction the market will actually go. Because if you observe the four-hour candle, it is understood that if the market is up in the first four hours, the market is down again in the next 4 hours. Candles rise within a certain range. However, I have seen before that the candles rise and suddenly there is a big change in the market. Maybe the market has not gone up much from such a stage, maybe it has gone down a lot.  But if the Bitcoin market changes a bit then it will be seen that other ALT coins in the market will change. So at this time it is not certain whether you will sell your coins or buy new ones.
Yes, it is never found to be consistent all the time and changes may come as always. I used to check the market sentiment and do analysis hourly or daily but there is one thing I've found, the volatility of the market still working and could sometime fail our analysis. Even though we spend a lot of time in the market doing this but still can't pinpoint where we are going by tomorrow or in a couple of days. That is why we should never expect quick returns from investing in crypto.
1007  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 22, 2023, 08:26:29 AM
I hope that Coach Ty Lue already said to Westbrook that you must not shoot the ball, and just focus on assisting and playmaking.

LOL, that strategy wouldn't work for the Clippers since it would be too predictable. Westbrook is still capable of shooting; he just needs to focus more on passing and rebounding. Of course, he should take the shot if he has an opening. With Westbrook's athleticism, he can easily draw fouls and get more free throws. His weakness is in jump shooting, particularly from beyond the arc, so as long as he drives the ball, that should work in his favor.

There will be plenty of adjustments that need to be made as the role Westbrook played on his previous team may not necessarily apply to his new team. It's important for the Clippers to utilize Westbrook effectively, especially considering the investment they made in him. With Leonard as their main star, as long as both PG and Westbrook can work together, I believe any issues can be resolved.
1008  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: February 22, 2023, 07:32:55 AM

Gone are the days when people/fans will go out and support the All-Star games as they want to see high-level basketball as those are All-Stars playing but it would turn out to be a comedy of some sort, hardcore basketball fans won't buy that including me.
I'm concerned about the fans who saved a lot of money just to watch the all-star game, only to have it end in a boring match. While it's likely already passed, the organizers could revive the event. After all, the primary goal of the all-star game is to entertain the fans, and if they can't provide that, there's no point in continuing with the event.

ROS +10.5 @1.94 vs Hotshots

Though that chance of an upset is next to none but knowing how competitive coach Yeng Guiao, i think this game will not be a blow-out.

I like this pick. The Rain or Shine team is currently on a winning streak, so they will be desperate to continue their success in their next game. Perhaps we will even see an upset. Are you not interested in placing a bet on the moneyline?
1009  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is trading good for beginners? on: February 21, 2023, 12:42:43 PM
Some meet me and we were have conversation on trade and he told me that he has putting all he has been saving in it and asked me if he can make something out of it and I asked him if he had any knowledge about it and he said no.

My question is can someone that doesn't have any knowledge about trading and how the system work can he or she trade.

After been told it just for them to choice on the candles sticks if it's up the they want to choice or the one going up just with this idea can they trade with such an idea.
so I wan to know if it's right for sure person to begin trading?
It seems not to work as he wanted it to. We can't disclose the fact that trading knowledge is very important in trading. If we wanted to succeed and earn a profit, we should invest time in learning how it works. Newbies could start trading but I don't encourage that to anyone, it was still in the best position to have at least knowledge about basic trading and gradually improve it. But in the case of your friend, as he put all his savings into this stuff, that is definitely not a good idea. He instead start for small amount while still the process of learning, it is too risky for his situation as a newbie.
1010  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why Do Gamblers Do This? on: February 21, 2023, 08:36:42 AM
In this forum and other forums where gambling is one of the topics of discussion, one of the recurrent topics is people who write about how their gambling addiction has ruined their lives. We usually encounter topics like "Gambling ruined my life,"  "I lost all my life savings to gambling,"  "I gambled away my entire salary," etc. Then they go on to tell a sad tale. It makes me wonder: why do gamblers tend to wait until they have suffered a catastrophic loss or a string of losses before quitting or seeking help?

Because regret always comes last. Gamblers are expecting to win, they think gambling is fun and at the same time they also make money. Some gamblers do gamble for fun but eventually, they lose control that's why they were able to spend more than they can afford to lose. I think it's just normal that people make mistakes, what's not normal is when we already know the outcome of the said mistakes, and yet we are still doing it.
1011  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 21, 2023, 06:34:03 AM

It will probably zip their mouths and lock it if ever the Clippers will be in the championship.
He will not be a burden but will be a big threat, they don't really need shooters because that's covered by Powell, PG13, Gordon, and Batum. They will need his aggressive skills to spread the floor more and give the shooters a good look at the three-point line.

It's too early to tell if the hype will match the reality. The excitement was high when Westbrook was traded to the Lakers, but it could end up being a disaster, so we cannot assume that he will do well with the LA Clippers. They now have their own Big 3, and it's the first time that Leonard has played with two real superstars, so there will be an adjustment period. Nevertheless, it's worth risking a bet on the Clippers to win a championship.

Giannis though, looks like the wrist is really injured and he just used the left hand to score the first basket and then he went out. The league is still on the break though, so many players can still recover before going back to Friday's game.

You know he was hurting when he had a hard time carrying the trophy.
Giannis would have had a chance to win the MVP if he was playing, but we know he has an injury, so it's hard to risk aggravating it. Anyway, it's good to see that Tatum won the MVP award. However, I'm still not impressed with the game. I'm looking for the classic style where they also play some defense, like the East vs. West set up.

Well, I guess we have no other choice but to be used about it as the set-up they have right now is likely to happen again in the next all-start game and for some years to follow. Unpredictability is what they have right now because we don't have that much clue who will rise and give the biggest contribution and become the All-Star MVP unlike in the past set-up where we can somehow guess the outcome. It was a fun game after all but again, it's not what we wanted.
That makes the betting more exciting because the underdog might win and that could give us a good winning if we will guess it right.

Based on the betting odds - https://dknation.draftkings.com/2023/2/19/23595834/nba-all-star-game-mvp-odds-2023-picks-predictions-favorites-lebron-lillard-embiid-doncic

Jayson Tatum was +800 to win that Finals MVP, imagine if you guess it right, you sure will enjoy a good winning.
1014  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto Currency trading without knowledge on: February 17, 2023, 10:12:53 AM
Of course, why not? But never think OP that you will able to get what you wanted to happen as I was sure that only LOSSES are what you get in the end.

Knowing at least the basic ideas about trading is enough, we can improve our knowledge and skill eventually through experience. Nobody had started being an expert because all of us had started from being a newbie with less experience and knowledge. But because we are able to learn more that is why we are talking risk and still continue despite the losses we have.
1015  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 17, 2023, 08:25:43 AM
Although they are +8 at home, they still could not cover it.

The spread depends on the likelihood of a team winning. The Bucks are on a winning streak and good at dominating their opponents, so it's not surprising that the Bulls are heavy underdogs, and that +8 is actually very tempting if you still believe the Bulls have a chance of winning. Without DeRozan, it will be hard to win against a strong team like the Bucks.
1016  Economy / Gambling discussion / [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight (july15,2023 on: February 17, 2023, 07:19:01 AM
The news just came out about a championship fight in the bantamweight division. We were worried that we might not be able to see Donaire fight soon when his last fight was cancelled. However, this new championship match has been announced and we will get to see him fight soon. Although the specific date has not been released yet, it will be announced soon for sure

...
He asked me why not just leave the coin on Binance so that when ever he wants to sell it, he can just use the same method; that's when I brought to his notice "Not your key, not your coin," and he was convinced.

It is good to see that some of our locals have the courage to invest in crypto but they also need to educate themselves before committing to such a thing otherwise, this could bring them losses and even blame you. In this case, it was you who could help them and make a way for them to fully understand the DOs and DONTs. It is really a big challenge for you but I believe you can do it. What they need is guidance from an experienced trader or investor because many people wanted to invest in crypto but due to a lack of knowledge and skills, they lose confidence and even quit.
1018  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it worth staking stablecoins? on: February 16, 2023, 11:40:38 AM
I would take those stablecoins are not good for storing for the long term as staking seems to be like that.
Because for me, it doesn't matter how much I would get from staking but what matter to me is the safety of my funds where I know it was secured and give me peace of mind. I know they still have reasons for their existence but then, we also have reason why we don't do staking. I use BUSD and USDT for some transaction but never I think about converting my Bitcoin to them and hold.
1019  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When to sell bitcoin before the next bear market starts? on: February 15, 2023, 12:14:11 PM
I won't hesitate to sell my Bitcoin when seeing the price is high OP. As long as I was in profit already, selling is certainly at the right time but because we are aiming high, that is why we are preferred selling them during the bull season. Unfortunately, that is the thing that we never know but constant price monitoring saves us from not missing it unless we are too greedy to wait for more which might lead us to miss the opportunity as well.
1020  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Signs of a better year for btc investors on: February 15, 2023, 11:35:55 AM
Looks like we are heading into a good year concerning bitcoins this time since the correction and the bad negative impact of the FTX are already gone. Now when the price is continue rising, people will always ignore its past history, especially when they blame bitcoins for their scam accusations years ago and last year's hilarious blame for the cause of global warming and they put it on bitcoins and the crypto miners. As long as people will open their hearts and minds, these hostile groups will not be successful in their plan to stop the spread and popularity of bitcoins and the rising of its price.
The end of the conflict between Ukraine and Russia also has a good impact on global economic growth. People had also moved on from suffering losses and distrust in the market making them back on investing again. If the momentum continues, this year will be a good year for crypto as the price will recover. However, it was not enough to think about for another ATH I was thinking about gaining back the trust of huge investors and giving some room for newcomers to enjoy the market.
