381  Economy / Economics / Re: Insurance is important on: November 24, 2023, 06:41:22 AM
Well, I could say it was important but it was not a priority as we can still live without this. Of course, for those who are rich and are enough to pay it monthly, I think they need it really. For some people, it was just preparing for the worst - accidents and death. But we can't see our destiny, at least by having this insurance we could live with peace of mind as we no longer bother any of our family or relatives for the expenses of whatever happens. It is a part of our preparation and we know that we will go that way soon.

I'm rolling with Phoenix in the opening game and putting my money on Ginebra for the second one. I just can't picture ROS coming out on top against a fired-up Ginebra squad hungry for redemption after taking an L in their previous matchup.

Seems like everyone's banking on Ginebra for the win, expecting some redemption, and chances are, they'll clinch it with a big lead. No offense to ROS, but let's be real, they can't ride solely on their rep because, let's face it, they've been seriously struggling. Looking at the current standings, ROS is 0-3, so until they start bagging consistent wins, it's not smart to put our money on them.

I just checked the spread, it's -7.5. I reckon that's manageable.

https://duelbits.com/sportsbook/home/basketball

No doubt, putting your money on Rain or Shine seems like a risky move given their current struggles. Ginebra tends to come back strong after a loss, and Coach Tim definitely won't be pleased with a defeat in a game they were supposed to win. Expect him to make a statement with this victory.

Thinking about some specials, like Ginebra winning by 26+ points, might be worth considering. However, the problem with the duel is they tend to put limits on PBA bets, unlike the NBA where you can go big even on high odds, like the specials I mentioned.
383  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When does the moment come when the gambler loses control? on: November 23, 2023, 01:23:50 PM
But I believe that the greatest dependence on gambling appears at the moment of loss, when the player admits in his head the idea that he could earn so much. He is disappointed, but wants to recoup. It is at this moment that the desire comes to play again and again in order to return to the previous state.

This seems to be a common situation for gamblers who don't grasp the risks involved and refuse to acknowledge that losses are part of the game. It's an undying issue in the gambling world for many irresponsible gamblers spending more than their actual budget. Unfortunately, some even reach the point of blaming gambling for their misfortunes rather than reflecting on their own approach to it.
384  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: investing a money on: November 23, 2023, 09:46:41 AM
Let's assume we have a) $5000 b) $10000 c) $15000 to invest, what do you suggest?
I'm going straight to you mate,  you have to choose Bitcoin and ETH, nothing else if you want a secure (at least) investment.
Just consider the thing that many Bitcoin investors, well, they are not millionaires already but have to say that makes their life even better.

I am sure that you have heard about meme coins already. Indeed, some people make a decent profit from them just think about the huge risk you may take from investing in them as they are prone to a scam. Better choose the projects that are well established, certainly, it gives you profit.
385  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is there still hope for the price of BTC to hit back $69k this year? on: November 23, 2023, 09:18:51 AM
Based on what is happening in this month of November, I believe the price of BTC will reach above $40k but it will not reach $69k before the end of this year but it will come close to $100k next year ending which is my major target.
If we analyzed the current progress on Bitcoin price, achieving $40k should be easy at the end of this year. The price looks quite strong to survive above $35k, it is even trying again to reach $38k now. Yesterday, I thought there will be another severe decline when there was bad news regarding CEO Binance (Changpeng Zhao) resigned. But when I look at the market condition today, I am quite confidence that that news seems to have no significant influence to the growth of Bitcoin price. It may influence the price of BNB coin only.

Well, $69k is likely too high target for the end of this year. I even doubt if we can achieve it before halving, it is something that we possible achieves after halving schedule. I think the highest price that we may reach at the end of this year is $45k. For $100k, it is surely possible to achieve but I don't know whether it can be achieved in 2024 or in 2025. If we look at the previous bullrun history, the highest price of Bitcoin probably happens 1 year after the halving.

It was realistic to see the price of Bitcoin @40k but talking about $65k, there is a big chance that won't happen. In fact, we only have 38 days left before the end of this year and with the current movement of the market, we're not in the bullish state to see a miracle. As per see, nothing could drive the market to move high but it was the impact of halving which is likely to happen next year. And we often see positive results in the previous halving which is also possible to happen once again.
386  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 23, 2023, 03:36:56 AM
A couple of good games airing on ESPN tonight as we roll into the holidays. First up the Bucks vs the Celtics. This should be a great game with 2 of the best teams in the league. Then we have the Suns vs the Warriors. I’m expecting the Suns to win this game easily as the Warriors have been struggling a bit, so it might be worth betting on.

Yeah can't wait for the Bucks celts game.  Might be an eastern conference finals preview early in the year.  Wanted to stick some money on the game but can't figure out which way I want to lean.  Might end up throwing it on the over and root for both teams offenses lol.  If I had to go with my gut I'd say celts and the money line.

Turns out it's a boring game, Boston have been controlling the game and Bucks has not even won a single quarter. Celtics already have a comfortable lead, I'm not sure if the Bucks could still have a big run to come back in less 6 minutes left inn the 4th quarter.

Checking out the final score, it might seem like a tight game with the Celtics winning by just 3 points. However, the Bucks made their move only in the 4th quarter, and let's be real, it was mostly garbage time. The Celtics already had a solid lead. If the Bucks were serious about winning, they should've kicked off that comeback in the 2nd half. I can't even recall a moment when the Bucks were in the lead throughout the whole game.

Meanwhile, Spurs losing streak continues. !
387  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some traps to avoid in bullrun. on: November 22, 2023, 01:38:14 PM

4.Be prepared for the worst and hope for the best: Be prepared for anything that comes later, the coin you are having in mind to pump may do that and might not do that. If you are lucky and have profit, enjoy the profits and if you don't make anything, he happy that you were part of the bull cycle, there is nothing guarantee in crypto because you don't know tomorrow. People that are saying bitcoin will go to $1M are all speculators and are just hoping it happens, nothing is guaranteed here, just be prepared and hope for the best.
We don't just hope but certainly be doing what is best. We could just listen and see the market sentiment and act accordingly that will give favor to us, we can't go against the trend but rather go along with it. If we need to hold, then we should. Buy at a low price and then sell at a high - it is certainly working so well.

We have to boost ourselves by trusting and believing in the bright future of the market. And we don't stop believing that bull season will come after the bear season, so must live patiently and remain focused on our goal rather than be disturbed by fake news.
388  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING]Adrien Broner vs Chris Howard (Welterweight) Nov 4. . on: November 22, 2023, 12:56:03 PM

So, it seems the reported injury might just be a convenient excuse because he doesn't find the fight appealing or has had a change of heart. What's going on with him, asking for a championship fight when he's at the bottom of the standings? It's like he's lost touch with reality or forgotten his current rank.

I get that he's into big fights, but he doesn't get to dictate how matchups are created. If he can't adhere to the rules of professional boxing regarding fights, maybe he should consider retiring and going for exhibition fights. With his skills in trashatalking, he's sure to draw a massive audience, and it could be a way to stay in the limelight even not in the professional sports of boxing.

Broner thinks that he can just demand a title shot at this point of his career, he has fought nobody after he lost to Manny Pacquiao, his career is clearly sliding and he is cherry-picking fights because he knows he cannot keep up with the top boxers in this generation, the trust is he is asking for the title because he just wants to make money before he exits in boxing and of course unless he did not get knock out he will still insist that he won the fight.
This is the kind of boxer who stays too long in boxing and cannot admit that his glory days are over, and with Broner's lifestyle he just wants more money, he is like Mayweather, a big spender who wants to flaunt his money.
I think it's better for this thread to be locked because the fight will not happen.

Pacman really did big damage to his career but I think the real struggle does not start on that particular fight, it started when he got too cocky against Maidana and the latter schooled him. He was even lucky to fight Pacman, but his performance does replicate the way he talk as he thought he had won the game when he was only throwing few punches and not hiiting clean shots on Pacman.
389  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin Bear Market over? on: November 22, 2023, 11:02:57 AM
The BTC market is still in the bear phase. Although we have seen some upward trends in the past few weeks. These recent price events indicate that the bear market is over and the bull is taking over the market proceedings, but what will happen in the coming months can not be predicted. I am of the opinion that the market will dump one last time before a bull run. This market correction is necessary for the BTC to gain its much-needed momentum. Expect a bull run after BTC halving. I am expecting an ATH in 2025. And between now and 2025, we might see many short-term price rallies.

Approval of Bitcoin spot ETFs might trigger the bull run earlier than anticipated.
Maybe the pump is not enough to please and satisfy you. Well yes, it matters to you how you determine the bear market and bull market. But for me, the market is leaving away from the bear state of the market, yet we can't still say that we are in the bullish market but at least seeing the pumps give us hope for the big one coming. In fact, $37k is huge enough compared to the 2017 ATH which is why I was already been bold to say that I'd never think about the bear season already instead, I'd just think about how the halving creates more demand and price rallies.
390  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is the Choice of Investors on: November 21, 2023, 11:55:28 AM
There is no doubt in that the bitcoin is best for investment as today bitcoin is at it’s lowest price and in future it will go to 50-60K usdt but there is a high risk associated with bitcoin while in case of gold the price is more stable so investor always prefer a stable thing to invest.
The needs of every investor are different, there are some investors that do not have as their priority to produce more wealth and what they want more than anything is to just preserve it, and gold can be a good way to do this as gold over the long term can track inflation and beat it, however for those that are still looking to increase their wealth then there is no doubt that an asset like bitcoin is a very attractive choice, since it can produce profits in a short amount of time you could not produce with gold.
And it can be an option as well to take them both -Bitcoin and Gold. While Bitcoin is heated up, smart investors have taken advantage of the situation, so instead of putting more funds into Gold, they are staking more on Bitcoin. Perhaps, it was a prevailing opportunity that most people wanted as acquiring Bitcoin could possibly make them rich. While many individuals are showing huge profits experience from investing in Bitcoin, the more it drives people to try.
391  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen if there was only one cryptocurrency, which is Bitcoin? on: November 21, 2023, 08:35:12 AM
Cryptocurrency isn't just represented by Bitcoin alone but also with altcoins. The crypto market gained too much attention because of these hyped altcoins and think that if there were only Bitcoin available, I couldn't really imagine that crypto become popular.
Until now, many people can't still believe what is happening to crypto and still assuming and asking "what if". It is too hard to say nor do we have any idea in the case that only Bitcoin exists, we can't travel back and start over again. So, whatever happens, these days will simply tell us that new technology will have the chance to gain such things, popularity, and value.
392  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: November 21, 2023, 07:19:17 AM

And they got the first lead of the game, 83-85, Magnolia.

Magnolia secured the win, thanks to their import playing fantastic basketball and hustling hard for a comeback. Coach Tim was disappointed in the game, particularly with the non-call, especially on Thompson's shot. However, that's part of the game and that's the PBA Grin. Coach Tim, bounce back next time please, and we'll be supporting Ginebra to win, regardless of the spread.

The referees were already suspended, but it cannot change the game now. Ginebra could have won that game if the foul had been called because Scottie Thompson would have had 2 free-throw attempts.

Here's the latest news regarding that.

https://mb.com.ph/2023/11/20/pba-suspends-referee-crew-in-manila-clasico-over-late-non-call#google_vignette

Quote
The PBA has suspended the referees who officiated the game between Barangay Ginebra and Magnolia which was marred by dissension over a non-call on what looked like a Mark Barroca foul on Scottie Thompson in his last attempt.

Justice was served. The league had to make a strong decision to keep the fans from being disappointed and to protect the reputation of the league, which has taken hits in the past due to similar incidents involving inaccurate referee calls or non-calls. They can't just let this slide, especially when the team involved is the most popular one. They'll scrutinize it closely, and fans won't easily forget about it.
393  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 21, 2023, 06:19:07 AM
Finally, the Golden State Warriors ended their losing streak against the Houston Rockets. 121-116

Yeah, it put an end to their long losing streak, and it's a good thing that Thompson is performing well, especially when Wiggins is struggling. Curry and Thompson are the top scorers in this game, as expected from the Splash Brothers. It seems like the Rockets might be quite tired, considering their continuous traveling and now being on a three-game losing streak. Their last game at home is done, and the next one is against the Suns on the road. I wouldn't expect them to win, though, as the Suns have been playing great basketball. If they can't contain Durant and Booker, I think they'll likely face a tough challenge.
394  Economy / Speculation / Re: What did you think will happen to Bitcoin before January? on: November 20, 2023, 09:58:29 PM
What I think is that the price will keep moving high and possibly reach $40k.
And asking if this is the best time to invest, you'd still have to think about it because I don't say it was a good time to accumulate but it was you who are willing enough to hold. Even though the market has shown good at this time and even though we are optimistic for the coming days, still we can't assure that it will go that way. This is why if we have to invest now, we are also willing to hold if the price goes down.
395  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 20, 2023, 03:46:05 AM
Clarkson isn't shooting well tonight; he hasn't scored any points from beyond the three-point line. However, the Suns vs. Jazz game is still interesting because it's going into overtime. If the Jazz win, Markkanen could be the hero. These two teams have played two games, and it has always been satisfying for the fans. Hopefully, Utah would even their series.

And... there's the double OT, Sexton got the follow up shot.. Entertain yourself so much in this game because the Jazz aren't going anywhere. They are playing like a good team against Durant and Booker, let's see what would happen in the next 5 minutes. It has been so entertaining so far.  Smiley

397  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies don't leave your coins in an exchange on: November 17, 2023, 11:27:29 AM
Well, this is not just for newbies but also for everyone including me because I would admit that I sometimes choose to leave some of my funds to exchange wallet. However, I do this for some reason just because I am trading when I have free time and I think that I could save some fees as I don't need to top up my wallet. Maybe it was not thought that the site might possibly be hacked and lose my funds but because I trust the platform that brings me confidence that it was safe and secured.
Hacking can happen regardless of whether the exchange is the most popular or safest, because any system can be hacked. I don't store my main funds on the exchange because I know the risks, I use personal wallet storage to store all my main assets. this is safer and more secure than having to be on an exchange managed by a third person. If it's just for trading then I will transfer only what is needed, not everything to be safer.
Yes, I consider that situation and no exchanges have been excused for hacking but choosing a reputable exchange is better than the others as they assure refunds if that happens. But as we do this - saving some funds on the exchange, we are also ready to lose them all and never make regret. I think leaving $50 - $100 is not huge enough that we need to worry but yes, that will depend on the capability of the exchanges and it was difficult to trust an exchange that has several cases of getting hacked.
398  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you bet on when your league is in break? on: November 17, 2023, 04:33:26 AM
My bets are mostly on NBA basketball because of its huge market. During the league break, which lasts for months, I still throw in some bets on local basketball games. It's not as intense as my NBA bets, but it helps pass the time and keeps the boredom at bay while waiting for the main league to kick back in.

Sometimes even the local basketball league takes a break, and during those times, I just have to chill and take a break from betting. I'm not gonna throw money at sports I don't follow – it's hard-earned cash, and I'm not about to waste it on a wild guess.
399  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: November 17, 2023, 03:49:11 AM
Second pick.
Miami Heat - Brooklyn Nets - Miami Heat (-4.5)
Ben Simmons won't be able to play yet for the Nets. The loss of Thomas in that ankle injury has some damage to them but they still won 2 games. But both of those are at the Nets' home and this time they will be playing on the road which will make it competitive for them.

This game has started already, so I will do live betting, at -5.5 with the Heat at 1.92 (another big risk, but I think the Heat can cover it). And we all know how competitive the Heats are specially in close game.

It's looking really good for the Miami Heat, they currently hold a 8 point lead going into the halftime, with a 14-0 run to closeout the 2 Quarter and a couple of Brooklyn Nets players aren't just having a slow start, but they're also picking up terrible fouls which could eventually hunt them in the second half, Cameron Johnson with 4 fouls already and he's one of the guys that could help make things happen for the Nets, if he doesn't foul out or pick up an early 5th in the 3rd Quarter.

EDIT: It's Cam Johnson just picked up his 5th foul, and there is 9 minutes left still to play in the 3rd quarter, the coach is just very dumb to have made him pick as many as 4 fouls into before halftime and still decided to start him for the 3rd quarter.

The Miami Heat clinched the win and covered the spread – easy one!  Grin I reckon most of us nailed our bets because Miami was playing on home court, and they had a solid shot at winning and covering. Butler really killed it in the game, showing he's back in the groove. His stats were a bit shaky this season, averaging 20 PPG, but he really stepped up big time tonight.

Warriors and OKC is currently playing, OKC up by double digit, could be another L for the home team?
400  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Every man you failed to lecture about Bitcoin can be a victim to scam on: November 16, 2023, 12:24:41 PM
Scams are everywhere and a lot of greedy people around, and they are easily boxed with these scammers.
We never fail to lecture them but it is hard to change someone if their thinking is different as they will do what they think is right (but it is wrong). Perhaps, we've been doing our part to educate some people and help them to avoid scams but too unfortunate that they easily forget the warning when hearing some good offer ( xxx profit in one day, one week, or one month). Yes, they simply jump on it without thinking it is a scam trick.
