181  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 21, 2019, 08:36:20 PM
Guys I'm thinking about buying some bitcoin. Should I fire now or wait for a bit of a dip?

Not quite yet imho.  We need 5 more days or so to scare the masses and then we can pump again.

The masses don't care much as of now. We need to change that first before speaking of 'the masses'.

184  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Easiest Way to Make Money with Crypto? on: November 21, 2019, 05:47:41 AM
The easiest way to make money with crypto is to simply get a job. Then use your salary to buy some crypto and then hodl. When the price rises, you will make a profit percentage on your bag and et voila you have made money with crypto with next to zero additional effort.
185  Local / Marketplace (India) / Re: [GOOD NEWS] P2P Exchange LocalCryptos Launches [NO KYC] on: November 21, 2019, 04:22:39 AM
I hope they will not ask the users to confirm their identity once they got more reputation in their business. They just changed their name right? Because these features were available in localethereum as well.

This. New launchers lure customers with 'no kyc' and once they are established a bit, they start asking for kyc.

Anyway, in p2p these days, buyers reversing transaction cases are pretty rampant, how are they gonna deal with that?

Either you understand very little about the Indian p2p scene or you are just posting garbage for the sake of your signature campaign.

Reversing an account transfer / UPI / IMPS payment in India with Indian banks are nearly impossible, I have never seen any tx reversed in my life. Frozen, sure. Reversed? Never.

Besides that to reverse a transaction, one would also need to disclose the nature of the transaction, why on Earth did you send / receive money from some stranger? There you would have to disclose that it was a crypto transaction, and therein risk getting your accounts frozen because Indian banks don't care about what the actual laws are, they just make shit up themselves (A lot like you).

Lastly, this is not a new exchange, this is essentially the rebranding of LocalEthereum. Which was a spin-off of LocalBitcoins, but now its big enough with a bigger userbase to do something on its own, making its own presence known. While allowing BTC/ETH/etc.. p2p trades isn't entirely new, p2p models are doing far better than DEXs and are a need of the hour. So the more, the better.

About luring in customers then asking for KYC part. Trust me if these businesses could, then they would function without KYC, which is what they do at the beginning, but when they get big enough, they start attracting the ire of the regulators, which is precisely when they have to start enforcing KYC norms.

In a nutshell, the more number of smaller p2p exchanges exist, the less each one of them would attract the regulator's scrutiny and the further away you would be from showing your ugly government photo ID picture to some online crypto website.

~edit
Did I mention that LocalEthereum/LocalCryptos have non custodial wallets with a built-in escrow?
186  Other / Meta / Re: sardasa account hacked yesterday on: November 20, 2019, 10:55:13 PM
My account has been hacked again 4 days ago.
I got it blocked within minutes of receiving the password change e-mail.
This is sad, i hope no one was scammed through your compromised account. I am also wondering how the hacker good his hands onto your account once again

Too late for hoping that.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5202194.0

Although Sardasa is now a part of the Indian TG group and he is actively trying to recover his account.

What is surprising is, how easily he is managing to get hacked. I wonder if someone is bruteforcing his account and if that is even possible (something that could have forum-wide repurcursions), or if he's being too careless with his login credentials.
187  Other / Meta / Re: Question on: November 20, 2019, 10:42:53 PM
Hello.

We just wish to know, why are the Cryptonians being banned on a Regular?

Before I play your game.

Answer some questions of mine.

Who are we?

What / who are Cryptonians?

Where did you hit your head?

On the odd chance you never answer any of my questions, and let's face it the chances for that happening are high.
Let me answer your question in as compact way as possible.

Bitcointalk users (assuming that is what you meant by cryptonians) are banned when they do not follow the basic rules of engagement set in this community. Generally, this community is well off without such cancer causing assholes.
188  Other / Meta / Re: 10 years since Satoshi joined Bitcointalk on: November 20, 2019, 09:49:01 PM
I just hope people stop associating that CSW guy with the real Satoshi. If this thread blows up, you might actually start seeing some trolls that also happen to be fans of that conman.

Regardless, I think it is about time Theymos and the gang consider releasing the last known IP addresses Satoshi used to log into this forum.

Note : I am not aware of any previous threads that discussed this, so if there are, enlighten me.

lols, do you think it necessary to do that by tracking his IP??

What is necessary? Tracking his IP would definitely rule out nothing as he could have been using some VPN. But at least that would give us a direction. Individuals with enough means and motivation could track him down.

Let's be realistic however, the guy owns billions of dollars worth of cryptos that he is handling very securely in a way, so that none of the Bitcoins he has actually moved anywhere. A guy, group with such huge amounts of money could go to any lengths to keep their identities a secret.

The only question is why? The whereabouts of Satoshi is perhaps the biggest mystery of this century now.
189  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is 1 Bitcoin equal to half million USD? on: November 20, 2019, 09:42:18 PM
Nice math you have their, I could agree with that, and the price equivalent of BTC might just continue to increase once we hit that big adoption because we are not really talking about the total supply here but the circulating supply and its known to us that there are a big portion of supply already that is lost in circulation, so that would result to reduce of supply while the demand continue to increase.

Full adoption means that demand will go to the moon, with so high demand the price should be very high too. It will take time to get there, and we need to be patient. This is a possibility, and many of us believe in that outcome in the future. We don't know the real value of Bitcoin, it can worth a lot one day, everything depends on that adoption and increasing demand, if that happens, we can see a very high price of Bitcoin.
There are only a few million bitcoin holders around the world so we are still a minority, if we got that number to 10 or 20 millions the current value of bitcoin could easily go up to 4 or 5 times its current price but that will take time and even more importantly we need that people understand why we have bitcoin, they do not understand why we have a coin that does not exist physically and that is not created by the government or any centralized entity, but when the economy begins to have problems they will finally understand.

I truly recommend the following study when it comes to the number of people adopting the technology https://www.jbs.cam.ac.uk/fileadmin/user_upload/research/centres/alternative-finance/downloads/2017-global-cryptocurrency-benchmarking-study.pdf

Research produced by University of Cambridge estimates that in 2017, there were 2.9 to 5.8 million unique users using a cryptocurrency wallet, most of them using bitcoin.

That is a bit strange given the fact that 2017 was known not only for a high btc price, but even more insane altcoin prices. ETH at $1k and even something as obscure as Experience Points (XP) had enormous value. About $800 worth of XP today was nearly $5000 back in Jan 2018 which was its peak price.

For me that was quite astounding to see a shitcoin doing so well. There are probably other better examples that I am unaware of.

191  Local / India / Re: Please do not involve me in such drama again... on: November 20, 2019, 04:46:52 AM
I've said this in the TG community.

Which TG community? IndiaBits or some other? If it is not IndiaBits, could you please share a link for the same?

It's not that one. It's a pretty exclusive group for Indians only that are working towards the betterment of this sub forum, and then some. If you want to join, go talk to Heisenberg.

Other than that you can join a different community as well, this is run and maintained by me a some trusted users on this forum : https://t.me/CrptoLoversWW
192  Local / Marketplace (India) / Re: Buying bitcoin with cash on: November 20, 2019, 03:58:26 AM
is it possible to buy BTC with cash in India? If yes, How?

It's a simple process.

1. Find someone you trust.

2. Make sure that person has Bitcoins.

3. Hope and pray to your god that they are dumb enough to agree to a cash transaction with you, carries the Bitcoin with them when they meet you.

4. Pray to your dear god that the person is not a scammer or a criminal capable of doing you bodily harm to take your cash.

5. If everything goes well, agree upon a sale price.

6. Acquire the Bitcoins.

7. Close this thread.

Like I said, its a simple process.
193  Other / Meta / Re: Optimal environment for bitcointalk - Improvements 1. Punishment for False accus on: November 16, 2019, 09:21:04 AM
The One above all, do you have a job? I am seriously worried about the state of your mental health, are you so diabetic that your own blood is rotting away your brain cells? Or are you intentionally trying to be a fuck up didly doo at everyone's face because your main account would have some "content" to respond to or make fun of?

Seriously, if this is your form of entertainment then you need a therapist. NO! pay attention now, I did not say THE RAPIST, I said THERAPIST. Get one as soon as possible and perhaps most, if not all of your delusions will go away.
194  Local / India / Re: Bithumb to launch in India - A thumb to eye for Anti-Bitcoin gang! on: November 15, 2019, 04:15:43 PM
as i was saying before, there are always a new solutions for us, we wont be missed in dark by crypto world
we have many entrepreneur whom are very creative on finding new ways of being involved in crypto and no one can stop us

here is a new solution by Cashaa

https://news.bitcoin.com/cashaa-launches-banking-solution-for-indian-crypto-owners/

Never heard of Cashaa before. Even prior to setting up an on/off-ramp for Bitcoin they need to work on their own brand identity. I am sure there are many like me around the world that have no clue about their existence. Let alone us bhole bhale Indians.
195  Local / India / Please do not involve me in such drama again... on: November 15, 2019, 04:02:19 PM
I've said this in the TG community. And I'll make this clear here now.

Quote
Listen. I'll be damn clear about this guys.
From here on out if you are including my name in any votes or whatever, please ask me, because I will say no 90% of the time.

There are people that hate me and can't stand the sight of my name and there are people that dearly love me in this community. So when you pitch my name against someone like Darkstar and low and behold I get more votes then people will think I am pulling in favors. Which is absolutely bullshit and wrong.

I do not want such drama with me because we Indians are like crabs, if one succeeds, other one pulls back. Please keep me out of such shit in future.

This was my original message.

I had no idea my name was being thrown around as a potential manager or escrow. It was only when someone informed me, I came to know about it.
I did vote in it and I voted for myself. At the time I had 0 votes.

However the voting picked up speed and at a time my votes equalled that of Darkstar or it might have even surpassed it.

This might have stung some people, how could I get enough votes to match or beat Darkstar at anything.

Before I clear that, I must bring your attention to this:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5191613.msg53004997#msg53004997
Quote
Think I have voiced my opinion on this before. Thanks for the consideration. I don't think anyone could be a better option than Darkstar_ here because unlike me, he is really trusted by many people on this forum and he has proved his mettle.

Though this is no endorsement, just my opinion which is unbiased despite him helping me in my time of need.

I was already supporting Darkstar for the job, and if I am not wrong, by the time I posted this message, Darkstar already had the job of the escrow. Correct me if I am wrong.

Darkstar and I are in cordial terms with each other, he has lent me money in the past and part of that loan I am still paying back. There was and is absolutely no doubt in my mind about if Darkstar is the right guy for the job.

Then comes this troll Rotten Egg or whatever his name is. He starts throwing allegations that Darkstar is favored because someone wants to get on the DT by being on DS' trust list. Darkstar does not hand out trust like that and I am no one to tell you how Darkstar hands out his trust, he'll be the judge of that but he does not get manipulated like a pleb and a mere few hundred dollars worth of escrow job would definitely not get you in his trust list.

Regardless, today I saw theymos posted here because someone asked for voter's names. My question is why? Is it because I was involved and I got so many votes? Or was it because Darkstar was given the job despite not being Indian?

Whatever the moot point is, it does not matter and it is a total time waster. Either way, I never wanted the job and whether Darkstar is chosen or not is the sole discretion of whoever the money belongs to. Why is the unnecessary drama being created here with my name?

Here on out, if anyone of you is putting my name in any voters list without asking me, you would be instantly blocked and distrusted. If I had to do politics here I would have started years ago.

Please keep me out of such shit.
196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the not-so-known ways to generate crypto? on: November 13, 2019, 04:02:26 PM
Everyone talks about blogging, commerce, using referral systems, bounty, campaign signatures, streaming, selling courses, offering their services in gaming, camwhore. But there are other not so known ways to generate/earn cryptos?

Yes there is. Simply work for crypto instead of fiat. You need to work to live right? Instead of researching novel ways to find ways to earn crypto, why don't you make it your livelihood? Trust me it can be done. You would just need a reliable off-ramp to cash out your crypto to your local currency, that way you would be able to pay for your living expenses and save some crypto on the side as well. Think about this.
197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think the Bounty program is over? on: November 13, 2019, 02:02:09 PM

Of course, the ICO market has died a lot, but I think the Bounty program will continue until a new marketing plan is released.
As long as there are bottomfeeding bounty spammers who dont care about spam in this forum and only how to abuse bounties to fill their ulcerated stomachs, they will continue.

I sense a dangerous level of hostility in your words here. So what if someone is poor and trying to earn small amounts of money to feed themselves and their family? Why do you look down upon them?
The bounty spammers exist because the forum is run in a way that does not put a stop to shit like that.

No need to disgrace the "bottom feeders". I know not all bottom feeders are poor and depraved people but rather just multi account farming shitfucks, but still dude. Let's not look down upon the shittery that we ourselves have created.
198  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Freewallet makes me stress asking me proof ID and freezing my wallet on: November 13, 2019, 01:47:53 PM
Not sure what you want to achieve by posting this here now while there are hundreds of people online that have complained before about Freewallet and how you should not be using their service because they keep freezing funds for the absurdest of reasons.

You didn't read the warning label my friend.
199  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: The biggest scammer on bitcointalk, help me to hunt him down on: November 13, 2019, 01:01:17 PM
I didnt want to dig this up but this seems another massive scale account farming that is a lot similar to what Kabit9 was doing.
Btw that report is still unhandled as no admin seems to be interested in banning the accounts connected.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5181165.0

See if you can find some connection between the accounts here in this data set with that one.
200  Local / India / Re: Bitcoin Ban Means India Will Get More Corrupt Under Modi — Tim Draper on: November 07, 2019, 07:34:29 PM
Tell Modi that Bitcoin came out of a Cow. He will accept it. Or give lecture in some temple that Cow milk contains hashes of Blockchain data. People will drink that up like tea..
Sad thing.. our India may be free our mindset are not..

You deserve way more merit for this hilarious post.
Sadly I have none to give you. All I can give you is my agreement with your viewpoint. And welcome back to the forum.
