241  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 08, 2019, 06:53:14 PM
Money is only a proxy for power.  Once you have sufficient power, money is irrelevant.

True but I am not sure how relevant this comment is because it seems like it is being made out of the blue. Am I missing something? Or are you responding to some older conversation up here?

If you are referring to my comment on Xi & Modi's power, then yes, they are probably capable of doing things and changing people's lives by the billions without even spending a dime from their pockets.

They are like more complex versions of Hitler and Stalin but only in the modern era.
242  Economy / Speculation / Re: BULL VS BEAR on: October 08, 2019, 06:49:41 PM
This is a stupid post with no substance, pure crap. Experts don't know shit, we are all experts on crypto as it's so young and if they knew something we didn't they'd be rich. Governments have shown to have very little impact, this isn't the old days of china ban Bitcoin dip fud.

So you mean to say that this is exactly the same as the wall observer thread but only focused at a month's period and since the OP's kinda unknown, so this is shit?

C'mon. Isn't that double standards?

People are called experts purely because other people are dumb. Its true, there are no experts. Just not-dumb people.

can neither confirm nor deny

Why do you have to sound so gay?
244  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 08, 2019, 06:44:18 PM
Here's what I think.

Someone should anonymously send 10 btc each to Trump, Modi, Xi Jinping, and Putin. Then watch where the fireworks land.

Also, do it in a publicized way so that people get to hear about it. Once that is done. I can pretty much guarantee BTC prices will soar. Just for the sheer stupidity of this stunt.

Even if they had wallets it sounds like a great way to get doxed to some scary people.

If you are using Bitcoin for a while you should be adept at hiding yourself online from dox attempts.

Modi's a dumb duck.

Xi & Putin are smart, so the only formidable people in this small list. They'd be more amused than trying to dox a random person that gifted their national treasury some free money.

Here's what I think.

Are you not kidding? 🙂
Not sure about Modi and Xi Jinping but Trump and Putin has money, especially Putin has so much. You want to make them fatter?

Obviously I am missing the idea here.

I am pretty sure Xi has more power than money. Same with Modi. Making any of them fatter is not the idea. Its a publicity stunt. I can guarantee that this would make the BTC prices soar enough that anyone investing into this stunt out of their own pocket would make at least 3 - 4 times more money just by riding the BTC wave resulting from it.

So now that we're back up in 8200's after a dip to the 7800's, how far do you think this rally could last?

Remember there was a similar dip to 8ks and a return to 9ks before dipping down to the current 8.2ks. Can that happen again? What do you guys think?

I still take an intermediate low of $5k-$6k around the end of Q4 into account, based on a giant bearflag, by my own lousy TA.
Otherwise i'm bullish for Q4 and 2020 in general, but if BTC is more than good at one thing, then it's to surprise.
My plan is to hodl on, save fiat, buy corn in Q1/2020 or even wait until the halving and invest in some shitcoin that is carried upwards by bitcoin, to compensate for missing out the $7-$8k range for rebuy (cause lack of fiat).

EDIT: It's all mindgames, but i won't be selling, that's for sure.

Share that TA with us. Let us also make a judgement on whether it is lazy or accurate.
tbh, $5k - $6k is way too low given the rebound tendency this year. I think by the time we close, we could be touching $9k or late $8ks.

I have my own TA for this too, but in my case, it is me who is lazy enough to not post it here  Cheesy
247  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Freewallet.org scam ,no reason to say have is risk, on: October 08, 2019, 06:39:50 AM
The fact that freewallet is shit and that people should avoid using a wallet service that does not give you your own private key is cause enough for anyone to shun them aside. I have made numerous warnings in the past about them, sad to see that not many people care about how scammy freewallet is until it is their money that is stuck in there.
248  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin node distribution globally on: October 08, 2019, 04:57:14 AM
I have a Bitcoin full node and am happy to make my small contribution to the geography of this distribution.

It does not bring me any material reward, I do it simply because I can. Smiley

Where are you from? which region are you making your mark on? Are you running your node from your PC or is it from a VPS or something? Interested because just curious.
249  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin node distribution globally on: October 07, 2019, 09:20:02 PM
China has plenty more nodes than it used to when it was much more prominent in trading. When all the zero fee exchanges were commanding the price there I remember seeing node counts of around 60 which goes to show how empty all the stats about China were.

Similarly when people were screaming about losing India, at certain points the node count was in single figures. If they clearly don't care why should we?

It's a very woolly metric but it does give an idea of the level of engagement in a country. It's not exactly the most demanding thing to keep running.

When I joined the crypto space there were barely any nodes in India. Now there are close to 50. Which is, at least 10 times more than what it was back in 2012. So its not like people don't care here. People did and still do. It's just that we're in a democracy and a minority.
250  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HELP the dumb-dumb!! I sent TUSD to a USDT wallet, is there any hope?? on: October 07, 2019, 08:34:50 PM
Progress!! I spoke to someone at the head office and they said to give them another address so they could deposit TUSD. Also, to make a small deposit of ETH in my EXXA wallet to cover any gas fees. This was 4-5 hours ago. I haven't seen my TUSD in my other wallet yet but this is progress. It looks like I might actually get back my TUSD after all🙏🤞🙏

Congratulations! I'm glad they are co-operating, that's a great start. Sounds likey they'll play ball after all. Please keep us all updated! If you could reference the tx when/if it comes as evidence of this exchange returning your funds that would be gold dust. It'll be a very useful reference to disprove future "experienced" naysayers, and encourage others to follow similar paths with other exchanges, even if only on principle. I'm otherwise glad you ignored all the negative nonsense in this thread, good on you. Hope they send you your dollar back soon, either that or they are trying to scam you out of a few dollars of Ether  Cheesy

Let me be the bearer confirmer of bad news for you.

You will not get your money back. See, exchanges, no matter what, will not take out a wrongly sent transaction to a wallet, even if they can.

[...] So the last thing I would suggest is, please lock this thread.

I think you owe someone an apology. Your suggestions and claims were obstructive, false and patronizing. It's only fortunate the OP rightfully ignored you.

[...] speaking from experience can confirm this that they won't help you.

Have you ever used EXXA?  Roll Eyes

I hope you get where I am coming from.

Nope, not what so ever.

Archived: 1, 2

You want me to apologize to someone for stating a fact that has happened with myself and with so many people?

Get off your high horse and get real for a second.

Shit like this is common and 90% of people facing this shit have come out sucking their thumbs because no one ever wins against these so-called "decentralized" exchanges.

And you sending me a red review for what? Suggesting this user to lock the thread so sig spammers could not spam this shit out of this thread? or what?

Let this post serve as grounds for my review against your profile for misleading judgment and improper use of your reviews.
251  Economy / Services / Re: I need a coder: $50 for coding. PID controller in a MATLAB script. on: October 07, 2019, 08:21:27 PM
Due to the deadline being so close and since I found no one who would take the job (@demuse was alright in communication, we just recognized that this task requires special knowledge.), I have no choice, but to lock the thread.

Sad to see this happen, this is largely due to the unorganized nature of this board.

It is hard to find normal coder in this forum, and you are asking for Matlab. I can guarantee that you will not get enough respondents. Instead you should look into upwork or freelancer.com or perhaps even peopleperhour. If you had higher budget, I would have suggested you Toptal. But that is for larger projects.

I will think of these options, too. Thank you!

That is a very good suggestion from Josephdd1, I would suggest the same.

Additionally, try posting your requirements here in the future :

JOBS & SERVICE REQUEST BOARD

PS: Thanks for unlocking the thread on request so I could post about this. I hope this helps people stay organized in this subboard in the future.
252  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Weird problem with Atomic wallet. Can't send money from Desktop on: October 07, 2019, 08:16:10 PM
It would be really difficult to know what is the problem without any debug logs.

You might want to try it again and then take a look at the error.logs that's available since 0.1.29 Beta. Make a test transaction again and then save the logs via Settings.

Unfortunately, I got a standard response of 'We're looking into it" on the TG chat. I had provided them with the debug logs in a TG chat with one of the admins. I can't remember exactly who.

That's a standard response because they don't know what's the real cause of the issue. Submitting debug logs for the developer might help them to speed up fixing the problem.

Yeah, TG chat admins are not really tech people that are working on the project, they're just there to act as a communicating bridge between the users and the tech guys.

For now, I have Atomic Wallet uninstalled on my PC.

This issue might even force me to switch away from Atomic wallet on my android if left unfixed.

254  Other / Archival / Re: McAfee Dex on: October 07, 2019, 07:55:52 PM
At a time when exchanges are shutting down due to lack of operating funds or actual revenue, this nutcase comes out with a DEX?

Seriously people! Do we really need more exchanges?

(The answer is no)

Are you going to use it and what do you think about it?

Think about? Yes. Use it? No.

Anything McAfee is involved is potentially a disaster waiting to happen. Who forgot about his world changing Power token that is worth shit after months of delays one after the other?

I can name a dozen projects he sold his name to, that are indeed shit. One other example Karatbars.

Need I say more?
255  Economy / Services / Re: Thailand Taxi Service Bitcoin accepted here on: October 07, 2019, 07:49:08 PM
I went to visit my daughter who was studying abroad at Chiang Mai University.

Yes, Thai women are beautiful, and hospitable, but I don't engage in prostitution.  It's one of the worst stereotypes a single man has to deal with when he mentions visiting Thailand, and honestly it's getting tiresome.  And, I can imagine it's the worst stereotype Thai women have to deal with if they are seen with a white man.   Roll Eyes

I did meet a very nice woman there, and we became friends.  She cooked me an amazing meal one night, and the rest I'll leave for your imagination.

It's not the worst stereotype for Thai women. The worst is having to prove that they're actually women.

Confronting Reality in a Transgender Paradise

Also the whole Thailand = Fuck land myth exists thanks to Americans. So there's that.

@OP :

Try posting this in a Thai traveling forum or even Lonelyplanet for better response.
256  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for service providers who can help setup a crypto fund on: October 06, 2019, 12:35:29 PM
Assist who exactly? There are many services that are working in guerilla mode these days. They take on clients that are legit. Before I suggest you any name, why don't you tell me about yourself? You've been largely inactive since 2014. You're an Indian, that posts in Korean.. I'm really confused actually. Without knowing which area you belong to, suggesting you any name would be foolish.

UNLESS. You are a covert marketer for origin-x.legal - in that case.. ggwp sir.

lol

lol that's cute,,

Tell that to the Indians in India that are forced to withdraw a max of 1000 rupees from their very own bank account. That's $14. And the soonest this would be resolved in is within 6 months.

Imagine having money but also having to beg for food because your Bank's under investigation.

News : PMC Bank customers can not withdraw more than ₹1,000 from their accounts
259  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can BTC still have any rally before 2020? on: October 06, 2019, 10:26:24 AM
Can it? Sure. Will it? Most definitely.

The problem with such a rally is the political turmoil between US, China, North Korea and UK. People were / are worried about how pathetic Trump is. Just wait till you see how pathetic (and dangerous) Borris is. And the nuclear de-escalation talks between US and North Korea means that the region could face a tumultuous situation like Libya faced during the Gadaffi years.

It seems like, with every passing day, more and more shit leaders are gaining power around the world. Things like this is not good for the global economy, let alone cryptos or Bitcoin.
260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Future of Altcoins ? on: October 06, 2019, 10:19:22 AM
As the market becomes more saturated more users are turning towards the top two crypto coins and those who had already invested into other altcoins have starting shifting their funds towards Bitcoin and Ethereum as other altcoins have failed to capitalize the market. If this continues then how will altcoin survive? is it just the matter of time or something which altcoins need to work on by working on the missing link.

Markets are created by two types of things. Either there are securities or their are derivatives which derive their value from underlying securities. Now, securities are based on some assets and some operations which provide return and therefore value of security is appreciated. Bitcoin is an asset due to a tremendous blockchain which has a lot of users using it as a means of payment settlement. Ethereum on the other hand handles a lot of smart contracts therefore is an asset too. Coming to the rest of altcoins, Ripple has been doing nothing except announcing it's plans, other altcoins too aren't specifically doing anything than just announcing their future ventures So I think it's the time when investors want some results from altcoins before they can go on and invest in them. This is the reason altcoin market is not working.

Most large scale altcoins, including Ethereum are no longer deemed as security because they have been decentralized enough.

This was big news a few days ago when a top SEC official said that Ether is not a security.

I can not say the same thing about Ripple however, it is highly centralized. Take a look at this op-ed piece on Medium : Is the Ripple Centralized or Decentralized?
