1801  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice | Most Popular & Trusted | Huge Community | Free BTC on: January 13, 2017, 07:03:18 PM
I could be 100% wrong but I don't trust primedice from my experiences and what I've seen with others, that's just my honest opinion. Call it bad luck or whatever but I see alot of really strange behaviour, uncanny bad luck for alot of people, not just losing the bets but the timing of losing the bets and the crazy losing streaks just at the right time. The provably fair thing is so complicated to most users that they could be screwed over but just can't understand it so accept that it's fair. All I hear is 'ask dooglas' he'll say its fair, you mean that other guy who also runs a dice game site? And how do we know the primedice verification websites aren't run by affiliates? Again I could be 100% wrong but this is just my honest opinion how I feel.

My thoughts are they are taking 1% rake they have no need to cheat unless they are a small dice site.  This logic alone isn't 100% conclusive though.  The volume of bets players put in at dice games its very hard to win long term so maybe thats why your results are bad idk.
1802  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who here has the most Bitcoin? on: January 13, 2017, 06:29:58 PM
Who here on Bitcointalk has the MOST bitcoin?
I'd like to see the top winners prove it, no fakers claiming 1,000,000 BTC please lol

Nobody with huge tons of BTC will be interested in proving anything to a random person.  What would be there motivation? bragging rights?
1803  Economy / Gambling / Re: Why do bitcoin poker only sites keep closing? on: January 13, 2017, 09:30:48 AM
Its not only the bitcoin poker sites which is closing. The whole poker scene is seeing a slow down in players and bitcoin is only a small niche of this department, which means it is much much smaller.

Pokerscout shows the statistics to track history on this.  The market is flat in general and has been for a few years.  Many of the pros now are doing things like streaming on twitch and making more via marketing themselves vs actual game.
1804  Economy / Gambling / Re: Why do bitcoin poker only sites keep closing? on: January 12, 2017, 08:27:47 PM
Haven't played bitcoin poker for a while, just when I started looking for my old sites they are both closed, I probably even had some chips in there, bitcoin is rising since Trump entered the scene, why are poker sites suffering?

Because the poker boom happened in 2003 and the sites that established themselves in that time are the ones who have survived, due to network effect also.  BTC sites have only been around after 2010 its hard to get a player base.  What we need is for BTC games to run on all sites in BTC.

well yeah but the market is keep changing , take party poker as an example as they were the top site in the world and now they aren't even in top3
and now pokerstars is doing horrible changes and this may change their position

but when it comes to btc  most players are afraid to turn to btc due the price factor , maybe when btc is more steady more players will show interest in btc cause the main problem is the lack of players

Them party poker days were insane, pokerstars was just a small site back then.  The games were so sick people could make several hundred k per year with basic skills.  Problem now is pokerstars have monopoly on the market and they know how to run a business to optimum levels - i dont see anything changing atm.  Maybe decentralized poker somehow with no rake but the fish go to the sites who advertise.
1805  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin overcome Paypal? on: January 12, 2017, 08:12:05 PM
Do you think that sometime in the future, Bitcoin might overcome Paypal, as it scales in capacity and userbase over the years?

We already have the ability to create our own marketplace with OpenBazaar, that uses Bitcoin as its payment method, so it should be no surprise that the combination of these two may be a fierce competition for both eBay and Paypal.

Nevertheless, feel free to vote on the poll above and express your opinion about it, if desired.  Grin
Bitcoin does not need to overcome paypal, bitcoin is way better since its birth, paypal is just a payment processor like many others that have existed and will exist, bitcoin is the first of a new type of currency, it does not matter if bitcoin does not reach the user base of paypal, bitcoin is way better.

Yeah its like saying will fiat or gold overtake paypal or visa versa.  As a payment processor currently bitcoin needs work right, unless you use a 3rd party tool most newbies still find the wallets tricky.
1806  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: btc china fake volumes on: January 12, 2017, 11:51:44 AM
The problem here is greed, fake volume and transaction so as to lure traders in and collect transaction fee from them, I can still smell the fresh paint of Mtgox again.
Yeah me too they just boost their daily transaction volume to attract new traders and as they offer no fee on trades, at one point they may try to steal user's fund and claim that there platform get hacked.

The recent investigation on Chinese exchanger pay force them to add some fee in trades.

Those big 3 exchanges have now started with the fake volume as standard there is no way to compete in china as an exchange if you dont bump up the numbers.  Its a shame and glad western sites aren't doing it.

Paypal will use BTC and provide services around it just like they do with fiat now.  There are always ways you can help people with their money, people dont have time to be their own bank 100%.

If you had a time machine getting you back to early stages of Bitcoin development in 2009-2010..

What would you say to satoshi?

Probably something, like... interesting idea, probably wont work.  I'd say that because how could i know back then, maybe he didn't even know how big BTC would be.

1811  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is better? To gamble or to invest? on: January 11, 2017, 11:29:24 AM
I think investing is more risky than gambling because most of investing websites are just scam, but in gambling you have better chances to make your bitcoin grow. How about you guys what do you think?
I think it's better to invest rather than gambling. For me investing is more less risk you can invest in casino sites that way you can earn slowly but surely there are many kinds of investment but don't invest in Ponzi/Hyip sites you will lose all your money.

Only a few actually "safe investments" around and they dont pay hardly anything in % terms vs higher risk.  Most people are young on the forum you need to not play investments safely and if you gamble you need to try to work out a way to gamble safely or just dont bother.
1812  Economy / Economics / Re: If Bitcoin goes up very high should i buy a house? on: January 11, 2017, 11:26:31 AM
Houses could also rise in value, and you can resell it for a profit as well. I think it was a pretty good idea, but the problem is whether the person who sold his house to be aware and know about Bitcoins?

But i doubt we'd see much rise in value vs bitcoin in next few years.  Of course BTC can die though and its hard for house value to die so easy.  I always wonder though your house value is protected by the security of the country right.  Things like BTC or gold you dont often need so much asset protection.
1813  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you use Cashback or bonuses? on: January 10, 2017, 08:50:56 AM
Always go for cashback. You want to minimize your losses in the long run, and cashback helps with this as it reduces the amount you lost and gives you some additional bankroll again when the payout happens.

Bonusses are nice, but the end result is often that you lose it before you reach the minimum bet amount to release it for withdrawel.

Work out the best damage limitation strategy via math and see if on average you can beat the bonus amout.  We should come up with a table to compare all different options.  Faucets should not count they are always good but time wasted.
1814  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin banned in Russia ? Not really on: January 08, 2017, 07:54:30 PM
I remember reading months back, from what I assume to be a Russian member of this board, that Russia hadn't gone and banned Bitcoin like everyone was claiming and a portion of the government actually owned some, allegedly. I don't know if this is true, but I do know that a lot of the people were overhyping the stance of the Russian government on it all.

Didnt BTC-e shut down all russian business? im not sure if they invited them back or what.  There must be some truth in russian ban or maybes its because its risk control incase.
1815  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling for a living or a living for Gambling? on: January 08, 2017, 07:50:52 PM
buying those lottery tickets at weekend is the high point of my week so i definitely live for gambling Grin

Lol they might have the biggest jackpot but if you check the odds of winning its one of the worse games you can play for house edge.  Soon adds up aswell if you get 10 tickets a week or something over a few years.
1816  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: January 08, 2017, 07:48:54 PM
match between Tottenham v Aston Villa has begun. I predict that Tottenham will beat Aston Villa. but, I see that it will not be easy. Tottenham will probably make the score more than one goal in this match, but I can not guarantee that Tottenham could make more than 3 goals. so maybe the score is above 1.5 goals.

Villa were shocking didnt even pose much of a threat.  Spurs didnt play anywhere near full team either.  Above 1.5 was a great bet congrats.
1817  Economy / Speculation / Re: WTF happening to the price on: January 07, 2017, 11:56:49 AM
Its hasn't been more than 1 day since i checked the price at @ $1010+ how did it get to @ $875 -?!!? BitcoinPriceBump

Youve just been given the perfect opportunity to buy the dip. I havent seen any news to suggest anythibg has  happened in pacticular , maybe a whale cashed out but i wouldnt be too worried, imo it will retrace back up towards where it was and beyond.

I believe there was some news from China's government or something like that. Not a ban but something saying crypto currencies aren't protected.

I could be wrong on that last bit but yes, it was negative government news from china supposedly

Likely FUD according to charlie lee, they did this same trick 3 years ago mny times over.  Could be a bear trap going on right now or just sideways for another year idk.

Who would have thought that Chelsea would go down 2-0 without finding the back of the net? Tottenham won their game in style ending Chelsea`s 13-match winning streak  thanks to Dele Alli`s brace.

I ignored the fact that Tottenham never lose while playing at home so far and got blinded by Chelsea's good performance. Finally, Tottenham stopped Chelsea's winning streak but I guess for the upcoming games Chelsea will come back to their good track again!
Not so sure about Chelsea, they been chased the shit out of them for breaking the Arsenal record, now it all gone in just blink of eye, not to mention they have conceded 2 goals, suck on the best defense in the premier league. Their confidence level is falling to the ground, this feeling will killing them. Dele Alli the playmaker, when he decide to get forward, he can score a lot of goal, good for Spurs.
I disagree, the play maker of the game was Eriksen, i really didnt see Alli involved in anything other than scoring the two goals. If Eriksen wasnt on form, chelsea would've had a chance to win the game, also, Conte waited too long to make the changes for chelsea, he should've subbed on Batshai right after sours scored their second goal and willian should've started

Very hard to drop willian since he is in good form also.  Agree on eriksen though when hes playing good he is the paul scholes of tottenham side. Alli is more an impact player like gerrard in his younger days.

Wasn't confident for chelsea at the start of the game, if you looked at the tottenham starting 11 with everyone fit they look like a stronger team.  If they could keep that first 11 fit rest of season they are in with a chance.
1820  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How important is it to upgrade to Bitcoin 0.13.1? on: January 05, 2017, 12:05:19 PM

Im running 0.11 or something like that on an old laptop, been downloading the blockchain and its taking forever.  This laptop is slow af but my question is do newer update version wallets make the blockchain sync quicker?
Compared to 0.11, yes, newer versions of Bitcoin Core will sync faster. There have been numerous optimizations and improvements that decrease the sync time, although it can still take a long time.

Perfect ty

And before you go to 0.13.2, you might as well just go to 0.13.2 as there are bug fixes etc.

I went for the most recent one which was 0.13.2.  Already its downloading faster.
