1801  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is improving I guess? on: April 03, 2023, 08:06:29 PM
We are more likely to experience better end of the year, as of last two weeks Bitcoin was $23,000 but I can see some impressive changes hopefully the ends or mid of the year will make significant changes in price. Though am not excited much because  even if it pumps I might not enjoy the fat price, I bought when the price is high but now you will pity my wallet. Anyway we're sure of better 2023.
At least you'll be able to get some little margin when it goes back at the top or do have break even and not with losses. It's more likely that we'll see some better years ahead including this year, 2024 and 2025. But this isn't a financial advice and I'm speaking based on my thought with how I've seen it before. The price is improving and the market itself because it's expanding through different institutions that wants to be involved in holding and trading bitcoin. While some wants it back to the bottom for them to have some slice of the pie but the majority of us like to see it get there back again, to its peak.
1802  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin for a beginner, a reality in a difficult time? on: April 03, 2023, 05:35:11 PM
Just take those free courses if there are in existence, you don't have to pay for any paid courses just because you want to learn bitcoin. It's easy to get these resources since everyone has already given you that, the fact that they're for free means that you only need to take time and read each of them if you're not satisfied by just having one of them. And learning bitcoin doesn't require to be difficult on any moment or any market status. If you want to learn during the bear or bull market, you have to and that's why you need to dedicate time to just learn the basics of it, you don't need rocket science for you to learn it.
1803  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambler Loses 1.4 million USD in a bet with lower than 1.01 odds! on: April 03, 2023, 11:45:19 AM
Well the bet which has the odd of 1.01 seems to be an easily predictable bet as the casino and bookmakers give this odd to the bet which has the highest probability of winning.  The bookmakers know the team is strongest and 99% of the gamblers will bet on it, so they keep the odd to the lowest value.
However, in the match, nothing is certain and one in a thousand times the strongest contest (team can lose too and we call it an upset. If this happens, all 99% of the gamblers on bet with 1.01 lose their money. Also with low odds, gamblers are expected to bet with a larger amount of money as they know the loss probability is low.
Yeah, given that the odd is like that and the chance of winning for that team is almost certain. But it's a match, and this is gambling for which we still have that little chance that the game might change and there will be some turnover for which happens truly unexpectedly.

Even we can experience bets with lower odds losing unexpected. In Miami Open final got to see Sinner leading the first set with a break point and the odds got low on live betting. What happened at the end Medvedev won the set. This happens with every sports and in all means we should be accompanied by luck which could bring win even when we place @5 or even higher odds. I've experienced @10 odds win in sports betting where the bet amount is just $10.
Yeah, very plausible to every sports that we're following and betting. Even if you are 100% sure that the bet might win, always set that thought in your minds that things could really turn the opposite surprisingly.
1804  Economy / Speculation / Re: I missed the bottom or i have time to invest on: April 03, 2023, 09:16:14 AM
This topic is likely belongs to Speculation.

I am thinking to invest in bitcoin for 6month or a year, is it good price to invest ? i will make profit from this point?
Make it more than a year and you'll see greater price than the current because of the halving that will come next year. At this point, asking whether you'll get profit or not. Both are possible, to profit and to not and it all depends on how you foresee bitcoin. You can trade marginally and that's anytime you can profit there but greater risk.

or is it possible for price to go low then this?
Yes.

and i DCA or just invest all at once and why?
Either of the two, both of them are good strategies and it all depends how you like doing it. Majority will suggest you to just DCA but if you've got huge amount of money now and you want to invest around a year or two then just buy the whole thing and wait until those years has passed. If you don't need that money then just use it if you're decided to do it all at once.

and please suggest some potential altcoins which have possibility to outperform this bull market please share your personnel though don't just share  some random shitcoins
and what is your experience in past halving ?
is it beginning of bull market?
Yes, based on the experience that we've been in. Every halving is like an indicator of the start of the bull run. But who knows if some cycles might be change for better or for worse but most likely, it's for the bull run.
1805  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambler Loses 1.4 million USD in a bet with lower than 1.01 odds! on: April 02, 2023, 11:06:41 PM
yep that's right, there is always a risk in every gambling and all types of bets and all those risks I call between lucky and unlucky.

If a bet is "safe" then it's not really a bet but more of an investment.
Gambling is less about investment and more about randomness.
That's right, having even that 1.01 odd doesn't mean that it's a lesser risk or a safe bet because the risk remains and sticks to the bet. Or could arguably say that the risk is less and quite being comfy with the possible outcome based on the given odd. It just changes the mood entirely because of the amount of bet that's being made by this guy. By the time that he's bet with that odd, he's unlucky that he's got beaten and lost it.
1806  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns [Last update: 02-April-23] on: April 02, 2023, 09:46:46 PM
Moon.win signature campaign has been put into hold.

The campaign is on hold as the escrow address does not have much balance.
[...]
Until then you are free to remove your signature and avatar if you want.

Although whirlwind.money is currently full and is on PNYC. Hhampuz announced that for some conditions it will accept applications from those exceptional members.

If you are a prominent member you may apply in this campaign even when it's full. Users could be rotated out based on performance (not based on how much you post, more about how you post).

Merit, trust, standing in bitcointalk are all factors that will be considered so if you have a low number of merit earned, no trust ratings and are relatively new you will likely to not be added to this campaign.

As for Roobet, there might be some open slots to be announced later.
1807  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning] Don't Connect Your Wallet With This Scam ZkSync Airdrop Website on: April 02, 2023, 04:45:37 PM
Thank you OP for this. While the market is too hot and becoming popular again because of the pumps side by side, this is where the scammers gonna take advantage of. I'm expecting that we'll be able to find out and see more of these scam airdrops. Because of the success airdrops from the projects and likes of optimism and the most recent one, arbitrum. They'll never stop and they're starting to see the demand on these type of projects. Be careful because this type of phishing, scam attempt through connecting our metamask and other wallets to their website will suck your funds there automatically.
1808  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin usage in crime activity. on: April 02, 2023, 01:57:03 PM
So I want to hear your opinion: how to make bitcoin technology "safer" so we could fight a crime committed with crypto and help with bitcoin adoption without taking away the main features of bitcoin like decentralization and anonymity?
We can't do anything about it but just to start the good use through ourselves. Why? Because every currency in the world is being used either with good or bad use. And that's why we just have to use it in the good and best ways that we can because no matter how we advocate the good usage of it, there will be people that will go against that advocacy for the betterment of the impression of bitcoin. Even in USD and other fiat, there have been illegal usage and the government can't even stop it because those criminals will always use whatever they want that has monetary value as much as they can. That's the reason even if it has a feature of being decentralized and giving anonymity to its user, it's like a double edged sword.
1809  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 01, 2023, 10:02:29 PM
The Lakers are doing very well in the last games, they are doing everything they can to make it to the playoffs. The team is playing much better than they were at the beginning of the season, both their individual and team performances have increased a lot. If they continue like this, they have a chance to be successful in the playoffs.
Anthony Davis plays very well and takes charge of the team, hope he will do that in playoffs too
I agree. When they were not performing well, many thought that they would be out on this stage but when they're proving us wrong. The consistency really is the key and they still have the chance to get on the playoffs. While many of us really have been losing the encouragement, they just shown that they can cope up with the situation. Now, what they need to have is to avoid injuries although this is unpredictable and could happen especially to AD and hopefully he's there when they needed him most for the next games to come.  Yes, it's unavoidable to get some injuries but I'm sure that the team will manage to preserve him for that if ever there's already the window being seen for the playoffs.
1810  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns [Last update: 26-Mar-23] on: April 01, 2023, 08:21:15 PM

Trustdice.win signature campaign is now full (CFNP).

Thank you all for your applications, we are once again CFNP.

Fortunejack signature campaign has also filled the remaining slots that it has got.

We are once again CFNP. Thank you all for your applications.
1811  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: effect of bitcoin on institutions and global economy on: April 01, 2023, 11:53:41 AM
As a store of value and related to global economy as it contributes a lot. You saw those banking institutions that have seen on the news telling their problems and potential collapse? That's one of the reasons why bitcoin is here, there will be no third party that will touch and hold your asset and it's only you that shall hold it unless you're allowing people to hold your private keys but that's a very unlikely situation.
Money from those institutions is likely to go into the bitcoin economy, thus the demand will increase and so the price too. This is why it's being feared by those economies that are in the verge of having a problem or a crisis. It is because that money from them might really go and flow into bitcoin. Because looking at most assets today, this is one of the most liquid and best assets that one can depend on.
1812  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How much you have earned through crypto referral on: April 01, 2023, 09:24:37 AM
I've done this with faucets before but only to my relatives, IIRC that's when the price of bitcoin was under $1k and I didn't get a lot from it but that's fun. I'm thinking that only those good writers with a lot of audiences with their articles and as well as social media influencers are the ones that can have an advantage with affiliate marketing. But if you're someone who's new to it and thinking that it will generate you passive income, you'll be needing a lot of work from this. On my experience, it was fun because I get to educate some of my relatives about bitcoin during that time but no one pursued it until now.
1813  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has anyone here tried Gambling Arbitrage? on: March 31, 2023, 11:39:26 PM
Have been asked before if I'm not mistaken
I also remember that this has been asked before and a thread was made as well.

I personally did not experience arbitrage betting but have a friend who already did. He even tried to encourage me at first but eventually he stopped it . According to him, it would be indeed profitable especially if you would be able to put the right margin between your bets on different platforms. Given that you'd bet on all possible outcomes, in such way it would be too costy, and for me that is an enough risk to avoid.Once you made the wrong calculation of odds, expect huge loss on your end. I'd prefer just playing it on the usual to avoid adding risks of losing. I believe this won't be hundred percent effective even if it is called "surebets", b
For those bettors that have large capital, I guess they have tried to do it and did it on several occasions but then just stopped because it requires a lot of effort and money. And you're right that with one wrong calculation, instead of profiting from arbitraging their bets on different bookies, they might just lose hefty amount of money since we're talking about different odds from these bookies.

because if it really is, then many gamblers should be rich by now.
But will still try it back and if money is won easily, it will be taken and spent easily by them so they go back to their former state.
1814  Economy / Economics / Re: Russia and others, move to use Yuan instead of dollar. on: March 31, 2023, 09:58:54 PM
I think that this has been said many years ago and it has now come into reality.

What does this new development make for the US economy and the US dollar in the coming days and years to come.[/b]
The dominance of US dollar in the world's economy is going to be lessen by this. But let's see on how the USA will do things on their own just to make this alliance to be not impactful as it may be for their markets. Looking at it, these countries that will form this is up to something and it may not yet be threatening to the US but I guess the obvious is being seen on how aggressive they are with their moves.
1815  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much these features weigh most when you choose your favorite casino? on: March 31, 2023, 06:23:14 PM
usually every reputable casino has its own advantages such as bonuses given, loyalty membership program, number of games, VIP program etc.
of the several that I mentioned, this is the most important thing to make customers feel comfortable and loyal to their favorite casino. so it's not just reputation that makes customers comfortable, but it is supported by several factors as I said at the beginning.
And being a reputable casino makes the choice for someone to make it as the ranking on this thread as 10 if ever it's the highest or 1 if it's main priority.

so, customer convenience depends on the wishes of each gambler. because every gambler has his own choice and of course as I said and is supported by a good casino reputation that makes customers loyal to bet at this casino.
But not every demand of their gamblers can be given because they'll have also to measure if those demands can be met, otherwise, it's better to make themselves follow what's on their plan whether they'll give some bonuses because even if they don't but they have loyal customers. They know that there's such a huge demand for them already. Making some attractions like bonuses is still essential but they wouldn't focus on it but with customer's after usage and experience.
1816  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if Bitcoin Was the Only Cryptocurrency? on: March 30, 2023, 11:47:20 PM
The current total of the cryptocurrency market capitalization is around $1.1-T. If we're going to value that and answer the question what if bitcoin is the only crypto then the first thing that everyone can think about is its price. By having that market cap and having the current supply of 19.33M bitcoins in the economy, let's do the math.
$1.1-T / 19.33M
= $57,000
That will be the estimated current price and how much more if we go back in the bull as there will be another increase to its market cap. But even with bitcoin's soaring high, there will always be those competitors trying to outperform bitcoin but it will not happen.
1817  Economy / Economics / Re: Ditch the Dollar on: March 30, 2023, 09:40:18 PM
AFAIK, India is also part of it based from the other source that I've read but it was an incomplete information but we'll see. It's gonna be a bigger problem for the dollar if Saudi Arabia starts to follow this type of alliance from countries that have been forming an alliance trade with China and Russia. The US/EU doesn't like that and that's why they're putting sanctions from this possible trade up alliance. But I'll take it from those economy, political and internationa relationship experts on what they think about this building formation alliances.
1818  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slot Tournaments - Ever Heard of it? on: March 30, 2023, 08:09:48 PM
I've heard about different types of tournaments but not on this one so, nope. But the mechanics and rules that you've mentioned, it's like whoever the ones that will last and will manage to grow the fund will simply win. That's a simple rules that they have and basically, those that are able to have fun with such tournaments, they'll just join in as the rules and the requirements simple to participate. IMO, this is just fun to watch and see who's going to win.
1819  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Exchanging BTC with this community will serve the purpose of mixing? on: March 30, 2023, 01:17:15 PM
OR using privacy coins like Monero.
I second. Since the seizing won't stop and they're likely going to go through with other mixing services in the near future and will take them down, I guess this is the safest choice if you want to keep yourself anonymous from any transactions that you do and that's just to use privacy coins. But just as these mixing services, there have been reports that local exchanges have been instructed to delist privacy coins for the same concerns that they've got against the mixing services. It's even scarier if soon the law enforcement themselves will create a trap in the form of a mixing service and will track down users that have trusted it.
