I loved Labyrinth as a kid but i find it a bit weird and perverse now.

Why, because David Bowie's Goblin King is essentially a child-snatching paedophile?

Has the US ever cared about international law except when it applies to its own interests?

The US has never cared about the International Criminal Court, although they have forced the Serbians to deport their leaders to face trial there. People who have killed a few hundreds like Milošević were tried there and the US agents unlawfully killed him inside the prison in 2006. On the other hand, George Bush who has killed millions of innocent people was never put on trial.

I saw an interesting video on Russia Today earlier that details all the puppet governments the US have helped instal: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLE7Bswz9G8
18283  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do people spend their bitcoins mostly? on: December 29, 2013, 03:39:15 PM
I have never purchased anything with BTC so far. But my friends have purchased all sort of things, from bullion to viagra tablets.

Haha, where'd they buy them? Silk Road for the viagra?
18284  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Xbox One - $460 + International Shipping + ESCROW on: December 29, 2013, 03:37:44 PM
Where is it shipped from?

Also these are going for new in the box on amazon.com for $499

US...brand new and unopened...No games

Severely tempted. Cheaper than price here in Thailand but we get  hit with ridiculous import charges so unless the price goes down, going to have to pass.

Can't it just be sent as a gift/commercial sample or with a low value written on it?
18285  Economy / Economics / Re: What is wrong with BTC today? on: December 29, 2013, 03:32:48 PM
An update on bitcoin and litecoin's prices, LTC has hid 25$ and BTC has hit 730$ as of right now when this post was created. In about a week I would assume that the coins will go back to their prices before crashing, and if we can hope that they can rise even higher!

Bitcoin is over $800 on Gox again now .... and trading isn't that light. Maybe we can get back to $1000 by year end.
Hrm, in 2 days it might be a stretch but Im hoping for at least 800 by then. Maybe my new years resolution is to stop gambling on these things Sad

It's not gonna get there in two days, but does it really matter? It'll go above and far beyond in 2014.
18286  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Predict the Date: When will Amazon accept Bitcoin ? on: December 29, 2013, 03:26:18 PM
More likely that Amazon will come out with its own currency.

They can try, but I don't see why people would adopt it.

Reason #1

Because it's fricking Amazon.

So people will buy into amazon's currency so they can spend it on Amazon? Might as well just vouchers. And any company can create their own money, but it wont be cryptocurrency.

If they did would it be 100% pre-mined?

Doubtful.

They'd probably "mine" it by offering rewards programs to get it into circulation. But it can only be spent on Amazon, issued by Amazon, etc. and might offer some value that cash doesn't, like "X amount off orders worth $Y" or expedited shipping, reduced sales tax, whatever.

Amazon likes to handle things in-house... they're the largest shipping operation in the history of humankind. Tens of thousands of outlets and warehouses. A whole internal system.

This kinda seems the opposite of what cryptos are about, but I guess it's only a matter of time before some corporation tries their own pre-mined Corporatecoin.

Oh, and YEAH, YEAH, YEAH!

Hey guys,

Long time lurker and information gatherer...decided it was finally time to register an account.

Thanks for all the help along the way. Hopefully I can repay it going forward.

Cheers!

Whenever I see or hear "'ello" I immediately think of this:

What the fuck is that?

It's a worm from the film Labyrinth: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0K5T0AqVlY

Can you withdraw cash with these ATMs, or just exchange to BTC?

Some you can do both. There's a few different types of machines.

There's also the unofficial hazing ritual where you send 0.001 BTC to my wallet and get absolutely nothing.  Wink   Grin

(Kind of black humor there, since everyone is almost bound to make some mistake that costs them something, it's like the first scratch on a new car kind of thing.)

I'm sure you could probably earn some Bitcoins doing this scam haha. Just PM all the newbs you see who are frustrated that they can't get out of newb jail that if they send you a donation you will grant them VIP GOLD membership.

please do not banned me,i do not sent a spam.

If you're using tor just hit new identity. I don't know whether mods consider just posting wallet addresses as spam, but that's all you seem to post, so maybe contribute in some other threads at least.

Hi, I'm answering here coz I'm not allowed to do that in the actual thread.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=389706.msg4195044#msg4195044

My solution would be something like:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eub39NaC4rc

Just put hardware in the oil, no contact with air, no dump no rust. Oil does not conduct current so no short circuit.

Oil also distribute heat on the whole surface of the containing tank, easier to cool down.

Little maintenance.

Only con is that hardware will be permanently oily and hard to clean and resell.

my 2 cents (and hopefully 25 BTC Tongue)

I've posted the quoted above in that thread for you.

The above users seem to be often copying and pasting the entire content of messages and/or threads (including activity and post count etc). Not sure if they're bots, but more probably are just users trying to bolster their post-count, but either way they're spamming.

What exactly is a dream test?

Money is proof of ones achievements. just shows you have provided service/value to achieve wealth. You make your own luck.

Does it? What about if you stole it all or inherited it?

I hardly watched it really, I was only interested in it because of Max Kaiser.

Same really. I only occasionally watch a few of his youtube vids when something interests or appeals to me. I wanted to see how he'd react to Kieser, because Jones has said previously he thinks Bitcoins is created by the globalist agenda, but then again he says that about everything  Grin.

Selfishness, Greed, Corruption... is the makeup of the landscape. From the top tier to the bottom feeders in every corner of our society these things are rampant!

There is probably more honor and integrity in the common thief of today then say a doctor who has been handing out Oxycontin like candy and profiting insanely at the price of his patients or a police officer who uses his stature as an expert witness to paint a favorable scenario in an officer related shooting!

How about the judges working with private for profit prisons that keep the jails packed so their cronies can be profiting from their incarceration!! I was reading about the FCC chairman who approved the Comcast buyout of KRON! He gave the green light and then quit his job at the FCC to go work for comcast!!
How about the head of the CDC ! The flipping center for disease control.. So important to all of us.. but there too!!

I always find it ironic when people complain about corruption by governments in the Middle East or in Africa, yet the UK and US governments are the most corrupt of all, they just get away with it easier because the public are blindly ignorant of what is happening.

And I always find it shocking how Doctors will just throw medicines at you like they're sweets. I always question their knowledge of what they're trying to give me and they can never tell me any in depth info on them what-so-ever. A good percentage of meds are just placebo bullshit any way. Just because somebody has a doctorate it doesn't mean they know what the fuck they're talking about.
