run the gridcoin client as administrator. also you might have to specify the boinc install path and boinc data path in gridcoin.conf

Hi, I'm hoping someone could help me out here:
I'm running BOINC on my server, so I can only install BOINC 5.10.45.
Boink utilization always displays as 0.
In the mining instructions PDF it says in step 9
"9. Launch Gridcoin-qt. Click on the mining console menu. Click register mining
module. This will register the boinc.dll with the OS, that will allow communication
between boinc, cgminer and gridcoin-qt. Note: If you do not register the DLL, boinc
utilization will always show as zero. "
I didn't have to do this on a device running the latest BOINC, and I can't even see the "register mining
module" option anywhere.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I did my first Bitfinex loan. Small amount just to test the water.

have such things happened? have there been cases on Bitfinex where insured loans did not get payed back in full to the lenders?

so the lender is fully exposed to a loss if the borrower blows up?

What makes a loan insured or un-insured? Is that an option that the lender chooses before he posts his lend offer?
Yes, but there is rarely (read: never) any money left in the insurance pool.

Only if the loss is greater than the margin that the borrower has left during forced liquidation.

scrypt NOT script

yes i see the Y/I-error
but... the same sharp exit
with cgminer 3.5.0 (-scrypt) - exiting
with cgminer 3.1.0 (-scrypt) - exiting
with cgminer 3.8.4 w/o bat.-file - "no devices detected"
or maybe i dig but dig too slowly
in fact some numbers are changing in cgminer 3.5.0/3.1.0 window

just no money & no info in mining console about the digger - unknown unknown....

scrypt NOT script

dude you are not mining scrypt

you have to run cgminer with -scrypt command to mine gridcoin

ok, i created a bat-file (same folder) with this text: "cgminer.exe -script"
and now cgminer.exe (ver.3.5.0 same as in the tutorial) exits/quits/crashes immediately after bat-file start
without parameters bat-file works fine
i have also cgminer.conf-file in the same folder:

{
"pools" : [
{
"url" : "127.0.0.1:9332",
"user" : "cornuto",
"pass" : "xxxxx"
}
]
}

This sounds like a very interesting idea. Any updates from developers, is there still interest in this?

This is actually a great thing for Gridcoin. We can see if there is any loopholes or flaws anywhere. This is a great idea now that I think about it.

Challenge accepted. @Gridcoin, you should create new topic about the 5000 GRC bounty and the challenge. Everyone should participate.

why don't you explain how to hack it, better yet make a hack yourself and show us the cheating in realtime.

Gridcoin has no future. Too easy to cheat and to fake BOINC cpu utilization.

Glad to have you on board TribalBob, we need more people like you. Spread the word far and wide.

I love this coin.

I have been using BOINC for about a year or so now because I love science and I believe deeply in what BOINC is trying to do to advance humanity ad our knowledge of the sciences.

It makes me happy to see BOINC gaining much needed exposure and it's even nice to have the added incentive of being rewarded for my activity on BOINC.

I did have one small issue with installation, on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit OS it seems I need to run the wallet as Administrator in order for it to read BOINC activity (maybe because I run with higher Windows security settings for my system) but other than that the process has been pretty straight forward.

I feel this coin has a lot of future potential, especially if the BOINC developers and Gridcoin developers were to link up and work together on full integration. The potential could exist for individual projects to reward individual users with extra coins for being especially productive or to give to new members as an incentive to join new projects.

I have joined the "Gridcoin" team for each project I am a part of inside of BOINC (except for the projects that don't have a "Gridcoin" group yet, lol) and I am excited to see where things go from here.

I'm very happy to see someone creating incentives to contribute to advancements in science, health and technology.

Thank you and keep up the good work!

I had mine staying at 1 hour behind for 15 mintues, and when i restarted the pc it was all up to date. So just reboot and relaunch the client.

Is everyone's wallet having trouble loading up the new blocks lately or is it just me?

I am updated to the latest version(rpc "upgrade" works fine), even deleted chainstate and blocks..after the blocks have been downloaded again, now the wallet sometimes is a couple blocks behind the network and takes ~15 minutes to update 1-3 blocks.

edit: I don't have any connection troubles myself Smiley

Crypto-trade seems like a well designed exchange, but it needs more volume on ltc and btc. Other then that it looks great.
I hope they add Gridcoin, that coins deserves to be on there. The most innovative out of all of them.
1877  Economy / Securities / Re: [CRYPTO-TRADE] Crypto-trade.com IPO and official thread! on: December 04, 2013, 01:04:01 PM
I got my withdrawal today, so far so good, lets hope this continues.

Has anyone tried  USD withdrawals from crypto-trade, how long do they usually take?
1878  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Gridcoin (GRC) - first coin utilizing BOINC - Official Thread on: December 04, 2013, 01:02:14 PM
There is only 1 GRC as far as i know.

What is the project's status now? What problems are there left to solve?
Also, I saw two addresses on a signature, GRC and GRC2, other started with G and the other with F. What is this?

Gridcoin is the most unique coin on the market now. It has a very dedicated developer team. The first coin to integrate Boinc credits and info right into the blockchain. Just download the client and you can see how cool it really is.
