Does anyone know if they can tell if they really do have 20nm chips as opposed to 28nm if they are going to ship you 5 boxes? What if they shipped Nov jups at 700G underclocked to conserve power and put them in 5 shiny boxes that would equal 3T.

Well you could look inside, if there are 4 chips in each box its a Jupiter Roll Eyes

Awesome I will defiantly be purchasing one! Hope fully it will have a decent price point for ROI.

Isn't that the wrong way round? Smiley Or you used "hopefully" instead of "if"

Is it August yet?  Roll Eyes

I know, I just wish spondoolies hadn't stopped sp10 production leaving a huge hiatus before sp30.

1885  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Pre-order the Most Powerful Bitcoin Miner from X-Hash! Gridseed A1 1.1TH Miner! on: June 18, 2014, 09:20:12 AM

Looks like the Gridseed A1 has some sort of thin server PSU, now with quoted power consumption at nearly 1400W and the rackmount "ears" on the case, can we assume that this is one loud ass mofo that will make my ears bleed if its not in some datacenter 100 miles away?

Any videos of it up and running/hashing, with sound?

Good news! Pleased to announce that I have some prices locked in for some Dragon 1T's , interested? OP updated Cheesy

Try here waldohoover: http://www.lketc.com/engoods/show/252.aspx

1T Dragon miner, this is where most of the resellers buy from.

$1599 inc shipping, thats for 1, if you buy more I am sure you will get a bigger discount.
1888  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner Batch 4, sales price changes daily, now $2121 per unit on: June 18, 2014, 07:20:19 AM
Funny, they don't reply to my emails...

not to worry - S3 is coming in '3 days' u might as well forget any further expectations of support for S2...

i have resigned myself to accepting less than i paid for - its cheaper than the alternative which is to send the whole rig back and wait for a 'maybe' better one in a fortnight

which is just madness

Info?
They just announced it in the forum, the S3 is the 500GH replacement for the S1, anyone waiting for a S2 replacement (S4?) will still have to wait to see what the options are.

I think its a bit of a shock that the S3 is a replacement for the S1, I think most expected them to focus on the S2 marketplace and above.

It would be interesting to know if hosting deal can be extended past the initial 6 months ...
I see some possible outcomes after the 6 month are over:
1) continue with the Titan hosting by your own using same or maybe new prices (possible higher) for small contracts.
2) continue with the Titan hosting by extending the existing bulk contract using same or maybe new prices.
3) cannot continue with Titan and everyone will have to ship the miner to their location.

SP30 not Titan, you might be in the wrong thread mate, although with the same suspects posting in both threads I can see how it can get confusing Cheesy

I'm talking about hosting our SP30 in Titan data center.

This is the DC: http://serverfarmrealty.com/data-centers/titan/

For bulk customers, assuming they'll have space and cooling capacity, we'll do an intro with the DC owner.

Thanks for the clarification, bit confusing there, well for me at least Cheesy
1890  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: How did you solve your miner heat problem? Tell us your creative solutions. on: June 17, 2014, 11:56:35 PM
I had 3 Antminer S1 in my small home office for about 4 days until I realized I needed a solution - its 90 degrees outside and probably hotter inside. The ceiling fan and a/c really did nothing. After taking a closer look at all nooks and crannies in my house I noticed I had an outlet in the crawlspace (for non-us people, its like a half cellar with varying height.). So I used 2 cinder blocks and 2x4 to make a stand and got all 3 S1 running in no time.

BTW... solved the ethernet problem with a Edimax ethernet bridge. I just could not get the S1's to work with their built in wifi, for god knows what reason. The Edimax works great, with no loss of throughput.

How? I sold those inefficient space heaters months ago and moved onto more efficient kit. Smiley

Spondoolies

Can you provide some more information on the hosting arrangements for the SP30 group buy, still sat on the email asking if I want it shipped or hosted, was going to email you but figured some other people might be in the same position so a public answer would be better.

It says 6 month minimum, how is this going to be charged. All 6 months in advance, 1 month in advance, 1 month in arrears.

Will we have remote access to the miners, my current SP10's are hosted with you and the biggest drawback is not having access (though support is very quick)

TIA

The DC requires 6 month minimum and $100 setup fee.

We'll charge in advance:

Bulk shipping cost ~$100 - we'll figure out the exact cost later
$100 - Setup fee
5 X $290 - $310 - 5 months of hosting, depending on the selected power mode

No remote access, we'll set pool configuration. Changing will be done by emails.

The email said that hosting required a 6 month commitment, which would indicate to me that it required 6 months up front. What other commitment would there be for a company selling hosting to a bunch of geeks on the internet from all over the world?

You won't be required to pay all up front for the 6 months. The commitment would be that you agree and commit to pay for the next 6 months of hosting. I am sure that if you won't pay starting any month that won't be a problem because they still have your equipment and they will not release it to you until you pay up + maybe you will get blacklisted with them. That's how I see it at least. Things don't need to be complicated at all.

Looks like it is a pay in advance setup. With one month free as agreed in the Group buy. Not a bad thing, just helps clarify things a bit.

Correct.

im still interested in anything 1TH+.. I will update my order count when final product/price is chosen. Thanks for all of your work waldohoover.

Noted Smiley

My interest is the same, if it can be purchased and hosted at a lower cost than I can get from Mr Lee ($1599 + $160 pcm hosting) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=521520.msg7367669#msg7367669

You linked to Spondoolies thread- but I'm familiar with Lee Group prices Smiley

lets try for the gridseed A1

itchy trigger finger here wanting to get something asap Smiley

Gridseed doesn't seem to reply back to me.

There not 1th rigs but BtcGarden has units shipping on the 21st and as of yet can't find a US reseller.

I'm currently speaking/working w 2 other manufacturers for 1THs Miners to see what we can do. I'll try to get a price point set before I begin to gather an interest list up.  Wink

If it was me I would go either directly to Innosilicon or www.lketc.com

Wink

I've updated the OP to reflect a general list of interest for 1TH miners.

Please let me know if anyone would like to be removed from the original S2 list.

Now back to work. Smiley

Damn.  I just checked back and saw the news ...

I vote Spondoolies (if possible), I've got (3) three SP10 Dawsons, and despite the noise, they've been hashing great ...

They stopped making SP10 in May, nothing from Spondoolies till SP30 in August (or maybe a bit sooner) and currently only availability on the September batch if you are quick.

Anyone got any news on how Payment to Hosting company works , what are the payment options. e.g (all up front or on a month by month basis).

Asked Spondoolies for this info two days ago, no answer.

the group buy was denied by bitmain themselves, they no longer offering bulk purchase discounts for us, the last closed groupbuy for $1650 was the finale

Maybe they just don't have enough.

How many PCI cables needed?
This is more or less 200Amp, or 10-12 pci 6 pin connectors?

2100W under a single fan?
Can those heat amounts be dissipated through that small construction?

Also, how is the heat being dissipated from the chip?

Water cooling? Or ? ? ?

I'd guess that 5 of those boxes makes a full neptune, so 3000/5=600GH per box. 600*0.7W/GH = 450W per box.

LOL really ?!! 5 machines = 1 Neptune , jeez why could they not have just split it into two 1.5TH boxes instead of 6x600

We have yet to see the final product, so its all guesswork fro now Smiley
1900  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: June 17, 2014, 05:28:19 PM
20nm  @  ~0.7W/GH

Talk about a fail.

All it means is that those chips are clocked more towards their frequency ceiling than for efficiency, so for KNC it's a success since they get to send as few chips as possible to fulfill each order. They could easily have delivered sub 0,5W/GH but it would have cost them more to do so, so why would they?

Also thats At-The-Wall numbers, take into account 80% efficiency PSU's and thats easily 0.56W chip level consumption. Not too bad really.
