For monitoring I use and have always used Cryptoglance http://cryptoglance.info/

The guys who develop it have stopped for a while, probably because of lack of interest but for me it works great. I run it on my Synology NAS but you can run it on windows or Linux

You have to use the development git but it seems great.

Looks like this:

Its not an application, its a web site you run. But it also can monitor your wallets addresses and balances and most pools.

It would be great if we could get the developers actively working on it again. Maybe if enough of us give them encouragement and a few small tips they will Smiley

I love it.

1443  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: December 04, 2014, 07:05:37 PM
Gutted mine didn't arrive today, DHL gave some crap on the web site:

Further Detail:
The shipment could not be delivered immediately

Next Step:
The shipment will be allocated to a courier for delivery in the following delivery cycle

So rang them up and the nice lass on the phone read out that the log said that it wasn't accepted.

Why don't they just tell the truth and say "couldn't be arsed"
 Angry

got my sp20E today.

dhl tried stinging me for 100usd more than the 200usd they did last time....

so far so good with the rig.

how many rigs does one need to purchase to qualify for a t-shirt

Mine should be here soon.. and looks like my sp31 is out for delivery too..  Cool

Then its time to knuckled down for three weeks, sock the next batch of coins away and then raise more for the next lot of hardware Cheesy

hmmm...would it not just be better odds to use my 550gh jupiter device rather then the above 150gh device for blockchain lottery games
or is this specific blockchain lottery device different then a miner in some way? from my 'imprefect' math you have a 25% chance to hit
that block in 1 year.....that again may not be correct..others with better odds on math chime in

anyway at first glance it seems silly

i think the Dice is most likely a tad more efficient than your Jup..? The point of it being that it costs (for me) ~£9 per month to run and it's designed more to be a bit of fun (and extra heat - I bought two for under my desk - one for each foot). In the UK a lotto ticket is £2, if you play lotto every week that's £104 per year (if you only buy one line of numbers per week). A Dice is £108 per year and i'd much rather win a bitcoin block than the lotto.
I also solo with other inefficient miners (currently a BFL Single and a Block Erupter Cube) and in the winter the extra heat is welcome.
i don't bother doing the maths of it all as long as I know what it'll cost per month to run and I am happy to pay that - it's cheaper than the oil radiator that i've used in past years and it may, or may not find that block, which would be a bonus.

How does it compare to the UK National Lottery odds?

Code:
Category     Prizes        Chances          Prize (Aprox)
Jackpot           1    1 in    13,983,816    £3-5,000,000
5+bonus           6    1 in     2,330,636         £50,000
5-match         252    1 in     55,491.33          £1,500
4-match      13,545    1 in      1,032.40            £100
3-match     246,820    1 in         56.66             £25

Nice thread folks, very informational.
One question, i use DUTY calculator that was provided in the middle of the thread and says:
Quote
Notes on duty & taxes rates and compliance Bitcoin Mining is duty free . Bitcoin mining is duty free as USA-Israel free trade agreement applies. A certificate of origin is required for preferential rate to apply. If the product has dual-use, an Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) is required [Some probability].Notes on import taxes due
Please note that your shipping provider may add an additional handling fee
- is this true that if ordered from USA there will be no duty/customs fees>?

was thinking about getting one or two SP20's but never got to the point as of yet.
thanks

yes, i'm in the UK and no such trade deal exists here. I believe the US adds no duty to your shipments from Israel.
SP20 price won't be this low for much longer. order asap.  Cool

To be fair we don't have duty in the UK on these items either, just VAT. I've had customs try and charge duty on top of VAT for a Bitmain miner in the past because it was described incorrectly in the paperwork.

VAT sucks even if you are a VAT registered business.

On one of my SP20's a firmware update 2.5.27 became available this afternoon. Has anyone upgraded to this version yet?

Current firmware version: 2.5.26
Latest available firmware version: 2.5.27

Wierd, I upgraded to that 4 days ago.

mine was upgradeable 3 or 4 days ago I did nothing so far.

I have some questions.

First is the new firmware better in any way.
Second and not on point  do you use the little mini sd card or do you not bother?
I will have 4 or 5 of these soon and I wondered if I need to use the little sd card option.

Not noticed anything super special but then nothing bad either.

Never used the SD card.

Got another one coming soon also.

1451  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: December 03, 2014, 09:29:20 PM
SP-Tech, whats the hashrate and power draw when fans set to 70?

If its like any of the others it will depend a lot on the ambient temps and the actual temps on the ASICs

If the ASICs get too hot they automatically throttle back lowering hashrate.

That SP20 is a cute little rig. How many BTC is it making a day ?

You already know the answer to that question.
1453  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: December 03, 2014, 04:19:30 PM

Thanks Phil.

just waiting on my shipping notification for the SP31.
i'll be growing palm trees in my flat by spring.

Was soooo tempted to put a lower price on the SP20 invoice when forwarding to DHL
1454  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Unofficial Spondoolies SP20 thread on: December 03, 2014, 10:14:24 AM
it'd be good to see instructions to overclock too... perhaps there is a modification, whether in software or in the unit that we can do, to raise the wattage cap from 288w?

I think the limit is on the pcie power connectors, they can only handle so much in the socket and cable
1455  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: December 03, 2014, 10:13:09 AM
Please contact us with your order ID via sales@ or through PM

Thanks Guy, all is well ... SP20 arrived today ... and is hashing away. I expect it to take a couple of days to settle down, but seems happy at 1.67Ths right now.

6 months in the BTC space has seen great improvements (sorry to state the obvious) ... with the SP20 footprint at 1.7Ths being so much smaller than the original June SP10 at 1.4Ths, power consumption has of course also improved.

This girl loves you and your company Guy  Tongue https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0JC4ddadAo (probably old news).

As raskul and others have said ... home miner(s) will be winter heater(s) ... and the UK is cooling down nicely right now.

Just waiting now for the next gen machines to replace the hosted miners I have ... and into 2015 we go ...

it's my birthday next wednesday = the BIG 40, I want one of those 5.5TH/s beasts. are they shipping yet?
You're a bit older than me Smiley
Early next week.

Guy

You young folks these days.... when I were lad..

In other news, mines been stuck in customs since Monday night. Just rang them and the invoice was unreadable.

it should be delivered today then

DHL say Wednesday, which gives me time to get some new fans Smiley

Ignore that, I'll use Amazon so it doesn't matter Smiley

Scythe Ultra Kaze: 133CFM Fan
Molex to fan adapters

Or you could put it on a fan controller if you wanted even lower speed, but what this gives is the same as setting the stock fan at 60% but without the extreme mechanical fan noise. Its still noisy but just not the same type of noise, much easier to bear imho.

Now I know how the Ultra Kaze work this is the fan I'm going to try next:
Silverston Tek FHP-141 177+CFM Fan
Its 140mm fan but with 120mm fittings, but it won't fit inside the SP20 so I'll try bolting it on the outside Smiley

Another one I have tried is two CoolerMaster Jetflo 95CFM fans in push/pull configuration. Which is very quiet but not quite as effective as I had hoped.

Also the Scythe Kaze Jyuni Slipstream Fan:
Its a 110CFM fan which again I think works best in a push/pull configuration but not as effective as one 130+CFM fan
1460  Economy / Computer hardware / [SOLD] Gridseed Blade 5Mh/s Scrypt ASIC [UK/EU] on: December 02, 2014, 10:15:10 AM
I have 4 Gridseed blades, with USB cables and power splitters, original boxes etc.

Just tested them and they all do what they say on the tin, just over 5Mhs

Checking on Ebay they are to be selling for $100 on ebay.com and £70 on ebay.co.uk

So for a forum price lets say 0.165BTC each plus postage.

Sold for 0.7BTC including delivery
