Hey mate, who pays the November bill to sidehack?

Regret to say one of mine has been down for 9Hrs and counting.. today

18 hours and counting...
1503  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: November 22, 2014, 04:04:34 PM
yeah but it looks like you are doing exactly what I want to do.
lower the fans .
 lower the watts
lower the hash

Yes but even with the fans at low speed the noise is too much for my wifes ears Shocked

So I replaced the fan with a 130CFM one with a less mechanical scream in the bearings, but the ASICs get hot and underclock themselves automatically to try and stay under 125c (I think thats what they are doing according to the asic stats page)

anyone else having MUCH less than expected results from 2.5.12 upgrade?

Please provide link to 2.3.46 FW if possible

and an option to set the fans higher than 90

For what model? 2.5.26 just released for SP20 Smiley

None of the firmware has made any difference to mine, just sits around 1.4TH

Very temperature locked.

what watts for that number?
do you have results for the next lower watt setting?

say ? watts =  1400gh
say ? watts  = 1300gh
say ? watts = 1200gh

I always tend to underclock a bit so I would be interested in slight underclock info

Mines not really indicative of a normal SP20 I'm running a half speed fan so I can keep my sanity.

The thing is it automatically downclocks if the asic temps get too high, which drops the overall power consumption.

So at 1400gh its using under 900W even though I have the settings maxed out in the web interface.

Yes if you do lower the watts it does automatically lower the hashing speed but it would also depend on your PSU if you are after wall watts.

I could do some tests tonight

Suddenly my SP30 gained 200GHps for seemingly no reason  Grin

Lower temps maybe? Or did you do something you lil devil you! Cheesy

will keep an eye on it and get them online as soon as possible

Good luck!

Mine have come back online a couple of hours ago.

I'm still getting the following with the new firmware patch 2.5.26 on an SP20.

21/11 04:32:10:---- RUNNING SLOWSTART -----
Cgminer died and restarted
21/11 04:32:10:Started!
21/11 04:32:12:ASIC ERROR PLL on ASIC:4 (255)
21/11 04:32:12:restart_asics_full (stuck PLL B)
21/11 04:32:12:Recursive restart_asics (stuck PLL B)
21/11 04:32:12:FATAL: miner_gate.c:1504
21/11 04:32:12:Abort
Cgminer died and restarted
21/11 04:32:14:restart_asics_full (stuck ASIC)
21/11 04:32:14:Recursive restart_asics (stuck ASIC)
21/11 04:32:14:FATAL

I'll try getting up even earlier this morning so maybe I can catch somebody in tech support.

It's still mining on 7 out of 8 asics. No matter which firmware it is, asic #4 is still giving the same error (stuck PLL B).

I've tried tuning down the starting voltages so maybe it will be unstuck, but no luck so far.

If you disable it in Asic control, then re-enable it does it come on for a while?

Looks like the canadian winter has got the best of my SP10 already. What do the recent updates do, does the SP10 suffer from the same bug when ambient goes below 0c?

I have a few SP10s running between 10c - 15c, no issues before or after updates.
Mine were down again this morning, the garage was -17c.

Obviously need more miners.

Has anyones miners come back online yet ??

mine are still down after 40 hrs now.. Sad

Or has anyone had contact from lee or his workers yet ?

And why are lees miners online but ours aren't ?

https://www.miningrigrentals.com/rigs/9853/

Haven't heard anything yet. Not like him to be so quiet.

I think its only the one datacenter that is down. Probably due to the works not going as well as planned.

Hosting costs would be higher than the unit is actually worth
1517  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: BITMAIN announces Antpool: Pushing forward Decentralization on: November 20, 2014, 09:08:23 AM
I am glad bitmain pushed this antpool. P2pool in the future will be nice but even now just to combat the other big runner CEX.io will be nice especially since btcguild is done.

Keep up, btcguild isn't done.

I agree please don't compare ebay prices to what you will get on here. If you want ebay prices...... Wink

I only meant to clarify the contribution of another poster who mentioned they were selling on eBay for "just over $3000".  We have no interest in selling on eBay at this time.

$3300 is just over $3K Smiley less ebay fees and its actually below $3K

Anything else was over a month ago which is irrelevant
1519  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] [UK] AMD R9 290 with EK Waterblock and backplate & R9 270 on: November 20, 2014, 12:43:17 AM
Got couple of GPU's to sell

First up my XFX R9 290 4GB GDDR5 Dual DVI HDMI DisplayPort PCI-E Graphics Card with EK Acetal Full cover block and EK black backplate.

I have the original box and cooler etc which is included if you want it.

So thats over £300 worth of kit for only £180 inc RMSD! (Thats aprox $280 or 0.8BTC

Second up is a MSI Radeon R9 270 Gaming 2G AMD Graphics Card - 2GB
Just a regular MSI 270 Smiley

Works great, ran it, benched it, gamed with it lightly. Its been in my main office machine and hasn't skipped a beat. Temperatures are great. But, at low speed the rear fan spins up slower than the front fan. Not sure if its meant to be that way, and these run pretty cool anyway with the card cool and fans running at low speeds until you really start pushing it. For me it hasn't been a problem, and from the pic you can see when its under load the fans both run fine, but just thought it best to mention. Again I have all the box and gubbins.

Price £65 inc RMSD or aprox $100/0.3BTC

All payments by BT or PaypalGift or BTC at Preev exchange rate.

Escrow, of course, buyer pays any commission.
